Got a decant of this.... The perfume oil didn't work for me, but I have noticed that some of the hair glosses in the same scents tend to work. In bottle... yep, smells like cake and a little bit of tea. In damp hair: Still get a bit of cake but something almost floral? Interesting since there doesn't seem to be any floral notes listed. After a few minutes the currants show up, but all in all, for me, this is just ok. Not a lot of scent. Kind of pale and not a floral fan. But hey, always fun to try!

Ooh!! Love!! In decant, a blast of a juicy, red apple! On my damp hair, the apple stays sweet and true. I am guessing the honey helps with that. It has a little edge to it, but to me, not as much as the Green Apple one. The scent on this one is softer to me as well. I think this is a perfect spring/summer hair gloss. Just like the green one!! BOTH winners! Update: This ended up having medium throw, but LASTING power! I smell it on my hair a good 24 hours later. LOVE this one!

This is lovely!! First sniff in my decant.....yep, GREEN apple! Oh smells so good! On my damp hair, it actually softens. I get the apple and a bit of the orchid. It does have a sharpness to it....not sure if that is the bergamot or tiare since I am not sure what those alone smells like, but it is a nice soft throw. Not as sharp as I thought it would be being it is a green apple scent. To me this is a perfect spring/summer scent. Not too heavy, but has a little bite to it.

Trying to find the right winter scent for me
Numanoid replied to childdoll's topic in Recommendations
Yuletide might be right up your alley!! That is, so far, the only winter scent I have found that works for me. I do love Snow White, but to me, that isn't winter-y to me. Yuletide is more Christmas-y to me. No ice or snow notes, but a nice holly/wreath kind of scent. -
Detestable Putrescense maybe.......described as Melty vanilla ice cream. It is very soft vanilla and very nice. Not overly sweet or cloying.

Don't know what I can add that the other reviewers didn't, other than it is a lovely creamy cotton sugar!! Now, Boo perfume oil didn't agree with me, so I wasn't sure if the HG would, but it is very good!! It is sweet but not cloying. I think foody and non-foody lovers will like this. I also think this would be good to use in warmer months as well since it is more on the soft side! A winner! UPDATE!! Ok....it has been 6 hours since I put this in my damp hair and I can STILL smell the goodness!! Amazing! I have only tried 3 other different kinds of HG (Snake Oil, Snow White, & Pumpkin Spice Everything) and those lasted a couple hours....but BOO.....wow! Still going strong!

Sniff in bottle: Like Muskwitch said....bubbly and sweet!! I don't associate that with snow or cold. Maybe that is supposed to be the "frosted" part of it? On skin: The fizziness goes away and I start to smell the vanilla/sandalwood come out. Dry down: I get a little bit of some pine (?) or something woodsy...very soft vanilla, but mostly the sandalwood is what I smell. It is lovely and has a soft "walking in the winter woods" feel to it, but I don't think this is for me.

Agreed with above!! This is beautiful Snow White scent but now in my hair!!! A couple squirts in my hand and ran through damp hair....perfect! It is the true SW scent as I have tried in perfume form. It goes on real soft as well....as in not overpowering at all. Also, I know we all have those one or two scents that we so want to love but our skin hates, it.....I think that if Snow White is that or you, I recommend trying the hair gloss. Beautiful, light, that slight hint of floral (which I am one where florals HATE me and vice versa). Very glad I got a bottle of this!!

Hmmm......this is good, I think! Sniff in bottle: I get a spicy leather....probably the gingerbread, but it isn't like other scents I have smelled with gingerbread in them! On Skin: The gingerbread immediately comes out on me, mingled with the leather. It is a nice, manly leather, but not a lot of throw on me. Dry down: I think I detect the fruitcake notes...very pale, but I guess it is only crumbs! I too do not get any tobacco from this....just gingerbread and leather. Kind of close to Gingerbread Jolly Roger (to my nose) but no aquatic notes of course. Not sure how I feel about this one. It's an iffy!

I am never sure about booze notes, but gotta try, right? In bottle: Yep, there is rum, but it is soft and foody to me. Like what rum would smell like in a cake, and not out of a bottle. A little hint of some vanilla possibly? On Skin: Turns soft and lovely. I get soft rum and soft vanilla. I don't detect any clove...maaaayybeee some almond, but just a sliver! Dry down: Surprisingly very little throw on me...considering booze notes go crazy loud on me! To me it turns to a sophisticated rum/vanilla scent. Soft and inviting, yet I don't know if it is for me.

Normally, anything with any kind of booze or beer note in it frightens me! BUT I can't pass up anything with chocolate!!! Sniff in bottle: Yummy, soft chocolate....like a pale version of Bliss. on Skin: The whisky note comes out and still has the soft chocolate scent along with it. So far very lovely! Not a lot of throw. Dry down: I get more of a slight dry cocoa out of this...which is fine with me. So far I don't detect any beer or booze and that too is ok. It is almost like when you open a container of baking cocoa and you get a little bit in your nose that might make you sneeze? Like that, but on a soft level...in a good way! SO glad I got this! I think this will be amazing with age! Update.... Been a couple hours, and the powder went away and it turned into a yummy chocolate frosting cupcake! I still get no booze and this has very little throw, but it is still amazing! Can't wait to see how this ages!

Hmmm.... very interesting! I think this is the first kind of scent that is actually stronger ON than in the bottle. First sniff I get a pale and soft gingerbread/leather blend. Once applied, it explodes on me. The gingerbread spice really comes out....and then I do smell the aquatic and leather notes. After a few minutes the gingerbread spice fades and I get water, wood, and leather. Hmmm....this is not for me. Was hoping the aquatic note would not be this prominent, but on me it is. I think this would smell amazing on a guy, but not on this gal!

Don't know if anyone mentioned The Turkish Village? Thick Turkish coffee, cardamom pods, Damascene roses, and buhur.

In bottle: Yum....I get a sweet yet soft cherry wine. Usually the Lab's fruit notes (cherry or strawberry) end up smelling like cough syrup or plastic, but this, so far smells real good! On Skin: Got a bit of pipe tobacco.....at least to my nose. Might be the wine that makes the tobacco note smell pipe-ish. But it is very nice so far. No cough syrup! Dry down: OOh....this gets real lovely. I can smell everything....the hint of frosting, wine, soft tobacco, and yes....that Snake Oil sexiness! I am glad I was able to get this and try it. I was worried about the tobacco and wine since those, too, can go wonky on me, but this blend works. Definitely a fall/winter scent. Nice throw and rich!

In Bottle: Oooh... very spot on with the bonfire smell. To me, this is more like the fire is dying out a bit. Maybe I detect a bit of pine. On Skin: Glad that pine is gone. I get a lovely soft....yeah, crackling burning wood scent. It is actually soft....dying embers! Dry down: Stays the same....this is very lovely. As someone mentioned, I think it reminds me more of Christmas, since that time of year, we use our fireplace a lot and this is the smell I get after the fire has burned out and that soft smoke is hanging in the air. Surprisingly low throw on me, which is good. I think this would be too oppressive otherwise. This is very beautiful alone, but I think this would layer real well with other scents like cranberry or chocolate to really give it that festive feel!!

This one is awesome!! In Bottle: Sweet, of course, but actually kind of hard to smell the sweetness. On Skin: OOH!! There it is! As it warms up, I totally get the candy corn scent...and yes...there is a "stale" factor to it. Kind of dry. But in a good way! Drydown: Stays the same on me! Dry, sweet, just-about-to-have-to-throw-it-out candy corn!! I really like this one because other candy corn scents have been a bit too overwhelming for me, but this one is just right! A winner!

This is actually very nice. I think if you are the type of person that likes incense blends and in the past they are either too strong or too weak, this is for you. In decant: I get the whiff of candle wax, and almost a bit of....stone? On skin: It warms up nicely and I get the wax/incense coming out. Dr down: This turns into a creamy/incense blend on me. Not foody, but the vanilla keeps it subtle. I don't get "kitchen spices" out of this. Very soft with medium throw.

In decant: SWEET! Sugar....PINK! On skin: SWEET! Sugar....very PINK! Dry down: SWEET.....sugar. If "pink" had a scent, this would be it. I think I got a cavity just sniffing it! If you want ueber sweet...this is for you!!!

Just a quick out-of-bottle sniff review! Yes....creamy, buttery pumpkin with spices galore! This is a wonderful warm scent! As of now, the spices are dominant. Will update review tomorrow when I use it in clean hair!! Update: So, I just used this this morning on damp hair, and it is so lovely!! Slight buttery pumpkin note, and the spices are warm and comforting!!! I love this. I ordered the perfume oil and so can't wait to wear these together!!

I KNEW I would love this! I use this as a moisturizer as well..... In bottle: Mostly just a yummy, milk chocolate scent. Maybe there is some dark choco lingering as well. On Skin: as it dries down, I get a very soft, warm, and spicy pumpkin that is perfectly mixing with the chocolate! This is so wonderful!! If you are a foody, like me, then this won't disappoint!!
-
Bottle: XXVI Hmm....I too am not good at picking out notes, but sniffing this, I get a dusty, dry type of floral note. I think I detect a hint of incense. Sadly, without even needing to use this, is NOT for me!! Let's re-home it!

Very glad to have been able to get a small decant of this!! Sniff in decant: Mmmm....like a warm pumpkin pie a la mode!! Does smell like it is on the verge of melting! On Skin: Rich, spicy, pumpkin pie! As above, it isn't a sweet pumpkin, but there is a bit of sweetness that is lingering behind the warm spices! If my nose remembers, it reminds me a bit of last years Pumpkin Ice Cream bath oil, but a hair richer! Drydown: Ok...I so love this!! It is very warm and I get all the notes....the pumpkin, spices, and that perfect vanilla! It isn't as overpowering as you might think...very soft, but there! I might have to beg for more of this!! If you are a foody lover like I am, get some of this if you can!

Not a fan of blood notes, but swapped for this one out of pure curiosity!! In Bottle: Hmmm.....as others mentioned, red, fruit, metallic etc etc. I get NONE of that. All I smell is some sort of flower-y scent. (???) Odd. On Skin: Same kind of overpowering floral. I don't get any ozone, blood, fruit...nothing! Drydown: Stays the same.....I am normally very sensitive to floral notes in general, but all I get is floral. If fades and becomes "wearable" but this is so not for me!

Ok...ok...ok!! I am SO glad I sprang for a bottle of this!! The $45 price tag is hard, but now I am realizing it is SO worth it! I got my bottle yesterday and I got to use it for the first time this morning on my damp hair. Just a couple squirts and rubbed into my hair and I am surrounded by the Snake Oil scent!!! Feel wonderful in my hair as well!! It will be interesting to see how long the scent lasts, but man alive!! I am in this heavenly cloud of Snake Oil goodness!! DON'T hesitate getting a bottle of this, especially if you love S.O. I split my 4oz bottle with a friend and even the 2 oz I have will last a nice long time since it takes so little. I have middle-of-the-back length hair and just those couple spritzes seems to do the trick!!!! Update: It's been about 3 1/2 hours since I applied my hair gloss, and I STILL smell it all around me! Nice and strong, which is good, but just a warning for those of you who might work closely with others, it might be too much for someone else!! Better strong than weak!! For me, no need to apply any perfume oil when wearing this amazing hair gloss!!!!

I don't know HOW I ever overlooked this scent. Just got a bottle in a swap. 2005 version In bottle: As someone said, it has a holly berry cheap candle smell to it. Was worried....WAS! On Skin: Definitely a Christmas scent....but it smells like a holly wreath made out of chap stick! Drydown: Oh WOW!! After a few nervous minutes, the "chap stick" scent went away and I get a lovely, spicy holly wreath smell!!! This is amazing! I have been looking for some sort of sweet Christmas wreath scent that didn't go all cat urine on me, like most holly/pine scents have done, but this one is a true winner! I get the sweetness of the berries and a tiny hint of a wreath smell. So anyone with the same issues I had, you should LOVE this. Very soft and spicy and great lasting power and perfect throw! Glad I found some!!
