    Café Mille et une Nuits

I was very excited to try this one!! I didn't know what shisha was, but ALL the other notes are just heaven for me! In the bottle, I got a perfect scent of coffee....it wasn't too weak, wasn't too strong! I was in love! THEN, I applied it....and it went south very quick on me. I didn't get any cinnamon, nutmeg, pepper....nothing. It in fact turned to a kind of cologne on me! What the......?? So, sadly I had to set it free!!

    Pumpkin Patch II (2005, 2006)

Sniff in bottle: Mmmm....yummy pumpkin with cocoa. A hair spicy, but lovely! On Skin: Cocoa fades pretty fast, along with any trace of pumpkin. The nuts come out and they are soft...very comforting! Drydown: Stays the same...medium throw for me. Hoping it would have been more of a cocoa note, but on me, just the nuts are present, which isn't a bad thing, but not on me.

    The Agricultural Building Atmosphere Spray

Ok...I don't know HOW I didn't know about this, but thanks to annemathematics, she sent me a sample of this!! All I can say is.... Eating chocolate is wonderful! Wearing a chocolate scent is divine!! NOW being able to breathe it in....nirvana!! Hope this makes a comeback!

    Pumpkin Hard Candy

I was generously frimped a half decant of this from the lovely tuesday...and was so surprised! I love most pumpkin scents and thought this was one I was just never going to get to try!! Here goes: Sniff in decant: Sweet orange-y pumpkin. Very candy like! On Skin: Oh yum! I don't know how Beth does it, but this is really the scent of a freshly unwrapped piece of hard candy! I get more orange than pumpkin, but it is there, in the background! Drydown: Very good...foody lovers should love this! It fades a bit to a tame citrus hard candy, but I can sniff and get orange, then sniff again and get that hint of pumpkin! Either way, it is candy....and very good. Wish this was a real candy to eat!!!

    Sugar-Slathered Candied Apple

OOOH!! Finally got a hold of this!! YUM! In bottle: pure caramel apple! Like others, I also get a red apple scent....not green. On skin: Get a blast of caramel and apple. Very true to the scent of the real deal. Drydown: Mmmm...this is so good. For me, this is perfect...I get a nice soft balance of both the caramel and apple. Not too strong and not too weak. Good throw. To me, Candy Corn Coated Candy Apple was too "corny" and I didn't like the coconut note in Creepy....this is what I was hoping one of those would be like when I tried them a long time ago, so I am VERY glad I got this!!! A must for foody lovers out there!

    Green Tree Viper

Finally...got a bottle of this!!! In Bottle: Yes...lovely mint, but it is soft. And I guess it is the bergamot I am smelling? Not sure I know that note! On Skin: Mint first, but like all mints, it fades fast on me! Kind of odd, but after mint is gone, it almost smells like a very pale Western Diamondback on me for a bit. Then the Snake Oil comes out a bit! Drydown: The mint is gone and the Snake Oil is there, but pretty much in the background. I get a slight SLIGHT hint of tea. That note worried me since I am not a real tea scent fan. Overall: This is a lovely scent, and not heavy at all. Fades pretty fast on me. Wish it was staying a bit more, but still very nice, just not sure it is one I would reach for often enough!

    Batty

Ok...been wanting to try this, so finally bought a bottle, gave it a good roll/shake to make sure it was all nicely mixed, as from reading above reviews!! In Bottle: Yep, a nice, pale chocolate scent....and pale as in not BOOM in your face chocolate, but tame. I love chocolate blends, so had to try this one!! On Skin: Like others said, I instantly get a cologne/masculine scent out of this, but still not cray manly. Stays close to the skin Drydown: No more chocolate but can detect the hints of oudh and musk. Sadly this ends up as an odd cologne on me. Needs a new home!

    The Phantom Calliope

Finally got some to try!! All the notes are good with me, but was worried about patchouli, since I can NOT stand it, but I know the Lab's patchouli can be tame!! Sniff in bottle: Like everyone says, sweet and dark cherries. More candy/cough drop like to my nose. On Skin: Cherry notes can go plastic on me, and it did for a second. Didn't get any patchouli (good thing) and the cinnamon note came right out mingling with the cherry...giving it that "glowing" feeling. Drydown: Cherry takes a back seat, but still there...a hint of it. I can now detect the cardamom and cassis.....gives it a slight spiciness to it. Also, can detect the verbena as well..... Seems to my nose, I get all notes....except the patchouli. Over all it is a lovely and balanced scent, just not sure if it is for me.

    Pumpkin Ice Cream Bath Oil

SO, I decided to order a bottle of this before it disappeared! I posted an ISO and got no response, so was guessing it must be THAT good!!! AND it is!!! Sniff in bottle: MMmmmmmm....light spiced pumpkin. A hint of creaminess, but not a lot. On: I use this as an after shower moisturizer and it is very good. Not a lot of throw, so non-foody lovers should love this as well. If you know what Pumpkin V 2009 smells like, this totally reminds me of it but minus the chocolate and coffee notes. Very glad I got this!!! In fact, I think this would pair perfectly with P.V. 2009 or any of the pumpkin/spicy type oils!!!

    Recs for the prettiest scents

I am no good at recommending anything floral, but have you seen the new and updated BPAL website? it is great and you can now search for oils with notes you like. Go to "directory" and you can find a massive list of notes, click on one and BOOM.... list of oils with said note!

Mother Shub's Squamous Sea Salt Caramel Cookies

In Decant: YUM! Even before I open it, I can smell the caramel! But sniffing...a blast of it! On Skin: I smell everything...the caramel cookie, salt, and slight tinge of the aquatic! Drydown: Caramel falls back a bit...it's there, but not overpowering. Can smell the salty-ness mostly. Get a tiny bit of cookie and still the faint aquatic scent. Don't know how she does it. This makes me feel like I am on my way to the ocean...eating caramel cookies, but still a ways away, but you can start to smell the salty ocean air....very faintly! After about 5 minutes, I still can smell all the notes, but all are tamed down quite a bit...not a lot of throw. My decant is enough....don't think I would need a full bottle!

    Mother Shub's Unmentionable Peppermint Creams

Sniff in decant: Yep...a blast of mint!! On Skin: At the moment, smells very close to the Lick It blends...a blast of mint that quickly fades with little throw, but still there. Drydown: Mint fades and the almond/marzipan note makes an appearance. On me, almonds and marzipan can go either too boozy or plastic on me, so I am always a bit nervous about blends with those notes, this one however seems to be behaving. It has a low throw on me and I think it won't last long. Been a few minutes and I have to put my nose right on my wrist to be able to smell it. Don't think I would need a bottle of this....my decant is good for me!!

    Snow White

2013 Version Oh my!!! Now, I have been lucky to test other years of Snow White...loved them all!! But, for some reason, this one is....wrong! Sniffing in the bottle, I get almost a urine smell!!! WHHHAAAAT??? Maybe something wrong with me? On Skin: Not good, and it breaks my heart! I LOVE Snow White. I have a small amount of a 2007 bottle left and it is beautiful. This one goes sour on me! Off to sell or maybe swap!!

    Lick It Now

Wet in bottle: Yep, that eye watering peppermint!!! In a GOOD way!! On Skin: Whoa!! Nasal cleansing peppermint! Very strong, but I like a hefty peppermint, only because it seems any mint just evaporates fast from me! Drydown: Well...the peppermint does settle down now, but it seems to be hanging around! I have tried one other Lick it scents (I think the 2011 one? ) and it just disappeared on me. Not sure if there is something different than past ones, but this does soften to a nice foody vanilla but I still get the mint radiating off of me, but not eye watering anymore! If you are like me and love a crisp mint, but your skin eats it, try this version....just might be the one for you!

    Purple Snowballs

In Bottle: VERY juicy plums!! Definitely a heavy "purple" scent! Like when you have dark colored berries that dribble down your hand and stains everything!! On Skin: Oh my....this is one HEAVY scent to me!! Gets crazy when on. I don't detect any kind of snowy, snowball, mint, or slushy anything in this. Don't know if I am confusing the heavy throw of the fruit to it not agreeing with me, but man...this is DENSE on me. Kind of headache inducing!! Dry Down: Still stays the same....I am a foodie lover, but this is a bit much for me. Very purple for sure, but was hoping the cardamom would tame the plum down, but not on me. Sorry, but this one has got to go!!!

    Old Keturah Zadok's Cranberry Cider

In bottle: WHOA...yes, that is some serious cranberry juice!! Tart yet sweet. To me, there is a hint of fizziness, not a lot, just a whisper. On Skin: Very juicy and festive cranberry! Really does make me instantly think of a giant glass punch bowl at a Christmas party filled to the brim! Drydown: This does fade to a lovely and soft cranberry...just pure cranberry. I get an oh so slight powder from it, but not in a bad way. Keeps it tamed down very nicely. Low throw to me, but very festive. Perfect for wear going to the office Christmas party!

    Yule Cookie

Wet in bottle: Rich, butter/lemon frosting, cookie!!!! So far so good!! On Skin: Still get a cookie scent, but the tea comes out just enough to almost make it smell like mint (to my weird nose)Could be the caraway doing that as well. Was afraid of the tea note, since I am not a fan of tea scents. Drydown: Stays pretty much the same...I get a little more of the buttercream frosting. The tea and caraway is very delicate. Medium throw. I think this is a dainty, foodie one...but not "girly". If you are a foodie fan, but don't like the over powering scents that some foodies are, then this will be a winner for you!!

    Skadi

2013 version Wet in bottle: fizzy, berry, and soft pine. As if a Christmas tree was turned into a berry soda! On Skin: Hmm....smells like a berry pine cleaner! Drydown: The "cleaner" scent luckily goes away. I get a very sweet berry scent, but not overbearing. Was hoping for a nice, soft pine that didn't smell like household cleaner, but so far, most of the "holiday pine" scents I have tried either smell that way or fades. This is nice, but getting a slight, slight soapy-ness to it. Sadly, not for me...maybe with age it gets better??

    Braving the Ice

In the bottle: Minty and creamy....very yummy! Like something you want to add to coffee or hot cocoa! On skin: Lovely scent of minty cookies!!! Still creamy and can detect the pomegranate showing up! Drydown: Seems most mints on me just disappear. BUT this still smells very good!! After mint fades, it dries down to a creamy cookie and a hint of the pomegranate. Not over powering but foodie nonetheless! Not 100% sure I love this. Like, yes, but I always need to LOOOOVE a scent to keep it. But this is one for foodie lovers!!

    All Hallow's Apple

Ok...was hesitant ordering a bottle of this because ALL the notes except the apple one terrified me, but reading the other reviews, I thought, "Why the heck not?" In the bottle: Yummy apples, and yes...like you are in an orchard picking them and a faint scent of dirt, but in a wonderful way, not dirty hippie, but clean dirt, if that makes sense!! On Skin: Very bright apple, with a good throw and yes, that upturned earth smell, but it is very nice! Amazing how Beth does it! It's faint, but there....not sure if I am getting any moss, but that is a good thing. It is just "earthy" enough without it being DIRT! Drydown: This is a wonderful scent...kind of reminds me of the apple note in Snow, Glass, & Apples, but not as strong. At least on me, SG&A was too much on me. This has good throw, but not 100% sure it is for me...seems the apple notes either fade on me or amp to the point of almost floral. Verdict: If you like earthy scents and/or SG&A, you will love this!

    Gingerbread Snake

In the bottle: Yummy and spicy gingerbread cake...almost a cinnamon-y scent to me! On Skin: OOh...no cinnamon (thank goodness, was worried) but as other stated, it is like a sexy gingerbread cake. Drydown: Can start to smell the Snake Oil...I think this will be beautiful with age since it is wonderful NOW!! Both mingle so well together!! Hoard worthy for sure!!

    Und wir Dachten der Toten

Sniff in decant: A hint of patchouli...but get the light, sweetness of the vanilla and coffee!! On Skin: Uh oh....was afraid of the patchouli note!! When will I learn! This doesn't go well on me. The sweetness is gone in a flash and left with patchouli. Dry down: Kind of odd, but on me, this actually gets stronger. Don't know if it is because the patch note is not a good one, but gets a bit like a heavy floral-y patchouli on me. So, was hoping the food-y notes would overpower, but didn't, so this isn't for me. Glad I didn't buy a bottle blindly!

    When recommending BPAL to newbies...

I am with you Urban....when I recommend, I try to let it be known what is a GC and an LE scent!! It can be confusing to a newbie. I remember when I first joined the forum, I was here for months before I found out about the Trading Post and being able to find goodies there.....so I get where you are coming from!!

    Snow Glass Apples v4

Wow...thought someone else would be first, so here goes... Wet in the bottle: Yep...yummy apples. Reminds me of how Poisoned Apple smells in the bottle. On Skin: Ooh...very tart green apple. Does smell like a softer version of the original SG&A. A little floral-y but not as strong as the original either. Drydown: Moderate throw...lighter version to me than original. Apple-y but not in an over-the-top sweet fruit scent. Is less "snowy" too. It is nice, but not sure it is for me. Have to let it settle maybe!

    Coffee House?

If you can find it, Bah! is a wonderful coffee scent: "Thick Turkish coffee spiked with whiskey, with a little bit of mocha to soften the bitterness." I am not a booze fan when it comes to scents, but this one doesn't give off a heavy booze note!! You might also like these: The Turkish Village: "Thick Turkish coffee, cardamom pods, Damascene roses, and buhur." Pumpkin V 2009: "Pumpkin, chocolate, coffee bean, vanilla bean, and hazelnut." Good luck!!!!!!
