Fermented apple juice, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, clove, lemon zest, butterscotch liquor, and orange slices. Oh this is good....and I am going on a nose that isn't working 100% (thanks to a cold! ) Sniffing in the bottle, it is surprisingly....light. I sniff the butterscotch....apples... orange... lemon. It is a crisp cider to my nose. In my hair. it stays the same...it has a medium scent, not too heavy as I thought it might be with the sugar, clove, allspice and nutmeg notes, but this really is....sweet, not cloying, and a tad refreshing. You can totally wear this if you work in close range with people. After a few, the apples and butterscotch are prominent. But so not cloying. I will edit/add to this as my hair dries more and my nose is a bit better. But if you are worried this would be too heavy and spicy, it so isn't!! This, to me, is a year round wearable scent.

Got a decant of this from the lovely Carrie above.... I love most Snake Oil blends, and this one intrigued me. Wasn't sure about the terebinth and Krampus...and I honestly don't know what pomelo is, but Snake Oil and some dark fruits.... sure, why not! Sniffing, I get the Snake Oil.... and a mixture of the other scents... pine... fruit...so far, not too shabby. On...oh my... I really like this! I get Snake Oil and both the black currant and pomegranate!! Terebinth (that is a kind of pine, right?) is very much in the background for me! I mostly just get the fruit and SO and I love it!! Has great throw for me!! Need to have more than a decant!!!

Pumpkin floss with threads of dark chocolate! Just got this today... also, forgive me, I am trying to get over a cold, so I might need to edit this later! But just can't wait to dive into it! In the bottle, there is a light chocolate to me, and something spicy... mildly spicy... smells a bit cinnamon-y. On skin, if you have smelled/tested Pumpkin V 2009, it reminds me of that, but more of the cinnamon coming out. It isn't overpowering, but my nose might be lying to me now. Dry down, I get more of the chocolate emerging, but it isn't crazy heavy.... it is light and the spice backs off, but still there. I don't get pumpkin from this. Doesn't last long on me...even as I am writing this, it is fading already. BUT again...might be my stuffy nose not wanting to cooperate. It is yummy and not too foody or pumpkiny.

[No additional description given.] Ok, so usually I totally stay away from anything that has patchouli in it... BUT I have learned that there are times when the Lab/Post has a way of blending it that makes it less hippie-ish, which is what I never liked about patch. SO I thought I would try this! I haven't sprayed in my hair, so this is just sniffing in the bottle... I might edit this once I do a proper hair test. Sniffing in the bottle I do get chocolate... and something pale and sweet. That might be the tea note, but it doesn't seem like the usual tea scent I have smelled in other blends. Also, it might be how the patch is blended with the tea and chocolate, but it almost seems like it is a little bit of a licorice smell there. My nose isn't at 100% right now because of allergies, but this seems like it will be a nice light blend despite it being patch and dk chocolate in there. Update: Got this in my hair....sadly, this isn't for me. The chocolate note is nice, but the tea and patch notes together goes odd. Still get that licorice vibe and I am not a licorice fan. Oh well.... that's how it goes!

Someone might need to correct me if I am wrong, but I *think* you get the special imps along with the regular ones the Lab thrown in with orders.

Um.... WOW!!! This is so good... regret only getting a decant, but yes... sniffing this in the decant, it is a rich, sweet pumpkin and blueberry. BUT in my hair, it turns right into a fresh-out-of-the-oven blueberry pumpkin muffin!! Smells so good... has that real blueberry scent! Not that fake quick box muffin mix (if you were wondering.) Scent has great throw...not too heavy and not too light. Need a large bottle of this!

Absinthe is always one of those scents that depending on how it's blended, it can either be really good or really bad, so I had to try this. Got a decant of this, and sniffing it, it is very sweet...which I didn't expect, but it does say caramel and white sugar. In my hair, it turns out to be a lovely effervescent sweet scent. Not sure I am getting caramel out of this, but a bubbly sugary green scent... not green as in greenery, but as in the green fairy. It has a good throw and strength on me...I think this is a wonderful scent for springtime as well as fall. If you like sweet scent, then you will like this one.

Oh yes!! Exactly as was said above! I just got mine from the mailbox....I had to try it right away, and Dementia hit it on the nose!! This is so Snow White and Snake Oil, and it is amazing!!! If you love both those scents, then go now and get this! It isn't cloying... I love strong Snake Oil, but the frostbitten note in it keeps it at bay, but I am sure this will age amazingly!! I will for sure get myself another one of these!!

Ok... WOW!! Might be a little late to the party, but SO glad I got this!! Red fruit notes (cherry, strawberry and raspberry) tend to go plastic-y on me. So, was hoping this one wouldn't...and it is SO WONDERFUL!! In the bottle, get a blast of rich raspberry jelly!! So far so good. On my skin, this stays true! NO PLASTIC! It is just a delicious, sugary raspberry treat!! I don't know what a sufganiot is, but if it smells like this, I would eat them all day! Has great throw and lasting power!! If you are a foody lover and haven't tried this, try to snag some!! Can't stop sniffing my wrist!!

Not sure what I can add to what was already mentioned above... except, I am very sorry for those who missed out on this! Really! The apple and marshmallow... so sweet and crisp! I can't stop shoving my hair in my nose to sniff! If you like apple scents....and love Boo HG, I hope you can find some of this... it reminds me of the soft sweetness Boo HG has but with the added marshmallow and apple! I wish this was hoard-able. So very good!!!!

Sniffing in the bottle, I smell cardamom, some cream...and what can only be pumpkin, but it seems more vegetable-y at first sniff. On skin, Instantly turns into a creamy pumpkin cake... with the cardamom mixed in! Very gourmand. Like said above, I also get no cinnamon from this. On dry down, the pumpkin seems to be a hair more on the vegetable side rather than the foody/baked goods type. Hmm...kind of makes me sad.

So, reading the notes...yeah.. I bought this instantly!! Ya kidding me? In the bottle, creamy chocolate and espresso!! On skin, Mmm...I detect the caramel a little....still get creamy chocolate and espresso. Not too heavy actually, considering the notes in it. Getting a teeny hint of the chipotle...very much in the background. As it dries, the chocolate stays creamy... sometimes choco notes get powdery on me, but this is lovely. At this point, also not getting much espresso, but all the notes are there and well balanced and soft to me. Low throw, but maybe with age this will get crazy rich, I hope.

This one was an instant no-need-to-think-about purchase! I love anything with Snake Oil... and this... yes!! Sniffing in the bottle, yep... there is S.O. I smell *something* a little spicy there. On skin, I get the S.O. and the pumpkin spice emerges!! This smells real good! Dry down, I still get the S.O. but there is something...grainy about it... like grains. It isn't super strong, but it is there... odd. Not getting any pumpkin out of this but maybe this needs to age for a bit.

Grabbed a bottle of this... normally, reading ALL the notes, there aren't many that work or I even know! BUT reading the reviews above, seems like this might be one I have to try. Sniffing in the bottle, (also, still a little cool-ish from being out in the cold waiting for delivery) it is very Aumtumn-like. Woodsy, but not overly so. Usually, wood or anything pine, elm, etc etc can be way too strong for me. Sniffing, this smells SO nice. Present, but not eye-watering. I think I detect a little berry-like scent in the background, which helps. On skin, wow!! This is so beautiful. I get...so much..spices, wine, outdoorsy, autumn, smoke. There is so much going on... but it isn't overwhelming. I agree with everyone above. This is Autumn. I think if dictionary's had smells, looking up the word 'autumn', you would smell this! As it drys down, I detect some ivy and berry wine. Maybe it is the juniper berry, since it has that woodsy-berry feel. BUT after a few minutes, it already fades on me and I am left with a mild pine scent. Darn!! Started out so good too.

Sniffing in the decant, yep...berries and that breakfast pancake scent. On my skin, wow.. the berries POP right out! Like.. in your face! To me, the berries have a slight "syrup" quality to them. It's real good! As it dries, I am not getting much pumpkin.... and a little hint of pancake, but as of now, the berry jam/syrup is taking over in a good way. Berry scents can go plastic on me, but so far, this isn't. If you like foody sweet scents, this is for you. Has good throw on me and it was only a small dab from the decant.

Got a decant of this! Sounds pretty good! In the decant, i sniff a light incense and yes... I get the wine-y, grape-like scent. On skin, the incense comes out immediately... and very front and center. I get the sweet, candy-ish scent behind it, but to me, I don't get sugar...or even grape really. There is something sweet, but it is a very background scent to my nose. I personally tend to amp incense blends. Overall... it has a good throw to me. The incense is there and tame, so not too crazy as some can be for me. You might like this if you want an incense blend that isn't too in-your-face and you don't want anything sweet. It is a great blend...well balanced to me.

Yeah.... not getting what others are posting either, and I got my decant from the lovely Carrie above. In the decant, I don't know what I am smelling...I don't get any of the bakery/foody scents. Not even any leather... it smells like mild motor oil!!! Even on my skin...motor oil with a dash of maybe something that makes it not too icky. Very sad.... had to wash it off.

Grabbed a decant of this!! Sniffing, it is just as stated. I get a sweet rum laced vanilla. Applied, it gets more caramelized to me...the berries come out as well. It all blends very well and I get every note listed. Sadly, what I can guess is the "ice cream' part (might be vanilla) goes a wee plastic-y on me. Not too much, but a little. Has a medium throw on me.

Recommendations for a woodsy minty tea factory for a sensitive nose.
Numanoid replied to erysette's topic in Recommendations
So, what might help you, if you go to the BPAL website they have a directory with a list of like every note ever! You can click on a note (like mint) and it will pull up a list of scents that have that note in it... some scents might be discontinued ones. Then, if you see a scent that intrigues you, I would then look up that scent on the review pages here and read up on how that scent is for those that have tried it. I read a lot of reviews when I first got into BPAL and they helped me to decide what I might want to try... or pass up! Hope that helps a bit. -
Recommendations For These Very Particular Notes
Numanoid replied to le-cynique's topic in Recommendations
I recommend looking up reviews on any perfumes you are interested in, or any that are suggested. It really helps in reading how a scent works (or doesn't work) on someone, so it can give you an idea if it might be something you want to try, or pass on. The review pages really helped me a lot when I first got into BPAL. -
I'm going to be difficult. Anti-sweet Anti-floral. Help!
Numanoid replied to TwasBrillig's topic in Recommendations
Also... I can't help with actual scents, since I am a foody lover, but if someone recommends a scent, go to read the review page on it, that way, you can get a sense of what it smells like on others and decide if that is something that works for you. Imps can also smell different than in the bottle... imps are clear glass and can age quicker. Sometimes that is a good thing, sometimes not. The dark bottles keep it from aging as fast so it can smell different. Hope that makes sense!! Good luck in your search. I know you will find something you will adore! -
Sniffing in the bottle... I do get the connection to El Dia Los Reyes, but lighter to me. Cocoa and cinnamon. On skin, I also get a dusty cocoa, but there is something else peeking out...maybe it's the tobacco. but it almost has some sort of underlying floral to it or musk...???? The sugar cane maybe is making it smell like that? Drydown on me I am not detecting caramel or coffee in it... it is nice, low throw on me, but mostly just dry cocoa and the tobacco. I was hoping this would be more foody-ish and it is a teeny bit, but not sure this is for me.

Sniffing in the decant, it smells SOO good!! Rich coffee and rum and spices!! On skin, This is nice.... stays a rich and creamy rum coffee! As it dries, the anise comes out, but I only notice it when I put my nose to my wrist. As it dries down, I start to notice the clove and the rum/coffee notes start to fade to the background. Boo... I get mostly allspice and clove out of this and there isn't much throw to me. Oh well...that's the way of BPAL!
-
In the decant, I get a blast of buttery booze... that's about it for now. On my wrist, the scent settles down real fast and I get the whiskey but not much else...if I sniff real close I might get the coffee and some brown sugar, but on me, this is close to the skin and low throw. But it's still yummy.

In the decant, I get a boozy chocolate. Little hint of nuts in there too. On skin, yep...very boozy like everyone else mentioned. The booze dominates right now...like I slathered a slighty sugared rum on my wrist. Dry down, I don't know if I get pastriy or pancake out of this...but a little bit of hard candy comes through and if I sniff real hard, maybe the apple, but the booze is still prominent to me. I also don't get any chocolate from this while wearing. It is sweet and boozy... good throw.
