In the bottle this smells like wet strawberries and incense, which is exactly what I was hoping for. However, on the skin it smells like....pickles...straight up dill pickles..what is wrong with my skin?! I'll edit in a week and see if it's just shark week that is making me smell like this.

This is beautiful! It isn't overly strong on my skin and when I first tested it my skin ate it up very quickly but it smells so good I don't mind multiple applications. After applying I can mainly smell the coconut and the oakmoss. The oakmoss is tempering the super sweet coconut and keeping it creamy rather than suntan lotion-y. After drying down the coconut is more at the forefront but the rest of the notes are creating the cool, tropical aquatic vibe I'm getting. I get a tiny whiff of powdery white amber, but somehow it works in this scent. Where I live temps can get up to 120 degrees so this will be perfect for those summer months.

The first time I tested this pre-shark week it started as a fresh, crisp blend with only a hint of smoke. Once dry the bourbon vanilla was at the forefront made a little brighter by the cognac, but mind you I'm not able to individually pick out the boozy note on my skin. The heavy vanilla was made a little more rounded by the coconut bark which gave it a nice woody edge, but again the vanilla is definitely the star here. During shark week, however, Tattered Lace becomes this deeply dark incense scent that has crazy lasting power. It is still somewhat lifted by the cognac but dang I'm getting mainly what I would think opium tar on silk would smell like. Oddly though, even though it's miles apart from my first test impression, I really like this darker scent and I'm loving the whiffs I catch of it. I'll have to test again in a week or so! so far though I give it a 4/5 because it really is an interesting scent and it could probably age into something fun to wear.

I just tried a frimp of Lillith and the drydown smells exactly like Ro's Argan Body Conditioner! A discovery that made me unbelievably excited, so sorry if I'm off topic lol. -
Carnation, posies, and white amber with a hint of inky treacle, sandy cider, and wooly wine. Source: Straight from the mailbox. Initial Application: Wet, red fruits. Possibly from the wine? Drydown: I get none of the florals on my skin. I'm smelling the boozy cider/wine note I always get from alcohol blends but there is a definite sweetness from the treacle and also a powdery edge that I assume is the amber. The bright fruity smell I got on initial application is gone, sadly. Dry: Still the boozy note, similar to the one I get from Wanda, with a sweet and powdery side. Queen Alice is pretty strong on me, and stays that way for some time. Verdict: 3/5 Not for me, but it seems like it'd be easy to wear as a daily scent if one was looking for these notes. Queen Alice is a comforting scent.
