I am quite new to BPAL and I have been testing heaps and heaps of imps lately - and out of all the ones I have tested so far Fae would have to be one of my favorites, if not my favorite BPAL GC (I still have a way to go before I test them all!) Fae is soft, sweet, musky peach with a hint of heliotrope, I'm not getting any oakmoss. I love Fae and will definately be getting a bigger bottle.

This starts out quite sharp - I can definately smell that icy delphinium. On dry down it's all violets and wisteria, it's a fresh scent and reminds me of a meadow ... it also reminds me of something from my childhood. I like it and will keep the imp, not sure if I would purchase a big bottle though

When first applied this is is sharp, green, watery scent on me. I think that the sharpness comes from the Orris. It's a little bit soapy and very clean, kind of reminds me of an air freshner ... It dries down to something much nicer, the sharpness fades and I am left with a sweet, floral, earthy scent. Even though it didn't start well it changed into something quite pretty. I would consider wearing this on a trip to the beach because I find it quite aquatic.

I am quite new to BPAL, but so far The Scarecrow is the most unusual scent that I have tried. It's true to it's description - dry, hot, barren. One of the most unusual things I have ever smelt .... it was too unnatural and sharp on me so I had to wash it off.
-
I was really curious to see what this smelt like on me. Overall, I can imagine a dry, barren landscape with this scent - but it is too sharp and harsh for me to wear ... kind of gave me a headache and I had to wash it off after about 10 minutes. This strikes me as being quite a masculine scent. It still lingered after I washed it off, so it has good staying power. Scarecrow is not for me.

This smells so nice in the imp - like a smooth body butter. It smells kind of caramel-y I am quite new to bpal and I am learning that Amber doesn't really agree with me. O turns dry and powdery on me, and very sweet. Nice in the imp and I can imagine it would smell nice on someone else ... but sadly, not on me. ETA: I have kept my imps for a few months and wow, this is so much nicer after a bit of time. It's no longer dry and powdery its warm and comforting - I will have to get some more just to age it for a while.

In the imp and when I first put this on it smells really good - I love the musks It's very sweet and almost foody it kind of reminds me of coconut ice and for some reason I get coconut in this scent When this drys down the amber starts to come out and amber doesn't really agree with me. If it didn't have the amber then I would like it more. I will be keeping the imp, but wont be getting a big bottle.

I have been searching for a ginger scent that works on me - since all of the others I have tried haven't worked out. Sudha Segara, is more of a light citrus on me though with not much ginger coming through. When I first put it on, it's a milky and lemony (kind of like a milky citronella) after a while it fades down into something really nice A soft creamy scent with some citrus in the background. I really like the labs milk note, it normally works well on me and my skin seems to make it the dominant note. Sudha Segara, fades very quickly on me but it is definately soft and comforting scent.

A frimp with my Yule order, thanks lab Veil is a scent that does not work on me, even though I like florals. In the imp it smells like very strong lavender. On the skin still lavender, but with something really sharp in the background which I can't put my finger on. On me this is quite a strong and overpowering scent, and I usually prefer soft and subtle. The descripstion of it sounded perfect for me, but it wasn't what I was expecting it to be. There is a note in this that doesn't agree with me at all. After it dries down it smells better the sharpness fades, but overall I probably wouldn't wear this because it is too strong for my taste. I don't know what orris sounds like but I wonder if it smells sour on me?

Vixen is really not a good match for my skin. I already knew that ginger generally doesn't work on me, it turns bitter and sharp. So all I get from this is a strong soapy scent from the orange blossom and then a sharp hit of ginger. The Pathchouli must be in there somewhere but I wouldn't have guessed it was an ingredient if I didn't check what was in it.

This a soft, musky rose on me and reminds of how Morrocan Rose by the Body Shop smells on me. I like Roses, Pearls and Diamonds better though I am not getting anything creamy from it, the coconut stays in the background and I can hardly smell it, other than an undefined sweetness. When I first put it on it smelt great - I think it must have been rose combined with orris, but after a while the orris fades and I get a musky, rose. It's soft and pretty, I will definately be using up all the imp but I am not sure if I would buy a bottle.

In the imp this smells like almond essense, I really like that smell so I was looking forward to trying it. Food smells don't normally work well on me, but this one is really nice. When I first put it on it smelt like almonds and cherries, but that fades and settles into a sweet, milky scent. For some reason this smells really similar to Alice on me - they both have milk in them and maybe honey but Dana O Shee doesn't have the carnation and so is a smoother and creamier scent on me. It also reminds me of something from my childhood. Overall I like it, it smells like milk and honey - very soft and feminine. It doesn't last well on me though. I would still consider getting a big bottle of this though to wear as an everyday scent

I have been wearing this all day, and I love it - like other people have said it is quite sweet and I probably wouldn't be in the mood to wear it everyday. But it is a really soft and bright sunny scent. In the imp it smells like sweet, sugary daisies. On my skin it stays pretty much the same, I can smell something kind of fruity in it at the beginning but then it fades and the daisies, carnation and sugar take over. It lasts for quite a while too. I like it alot, its just the sweet sugary-ness that gives me second thoughts about ordering a bottle, I will probably end up getting a bottle of this though

The main thing I can smell in the imp is tea and linen, with a bit of ginger. After a few minutes of putting it on White Rabbit smells really, really clean - like other people said there is almost something citrusy about it but I think it might be from the ginger. It does smell smooth and creamy from the milk, but the main note for me is the linen. I put it on straight after I had a shower and its very light and refreshing. This also fades really quickly on me. ETA: The more I try this scent the more that I love it - it's a soft, creamy, clean scent with a little bit of spice. I just wish that it would last for longer and I would definately be getting a big bottle of this

Looking for a BPAL that Resembles a Favorite Perfume

I tried 51 the other day and on me it smells very similar to Shedonism by Origins -
Siren is a really interesting scent ... in the imp it smells quite sharp to me, I can smell the ginger, perhaps a little bit of jasmine but no apricot or vanilla. On first application it smells really spicy and zesty on me. It's fresh and warm at the same time. It settles down a bit but the ginger takes the center stage, it's not a sweet ginger though, its more a tart almost bitter ginger. I think that the vanilla and apricot add to the warmth in the background so it becomes quite an interesting mix of scents. On dry down it stays pretty much the same and mellows slightly but it becomes kind of like gingery incense. I can never smell much jasmine in this at all. My skin seems to amp any kind of spice like ginger or cinnamon making it into the dominant note. This has really good lasting power and a little of this goes a long way I've had a few comments when wearing this too, I've been told that it smells like a Guerlain perfume (not sure which one). My sister asked me what I wearing one day and I said it was called Siren, she said that she could understand why it was called Siren because it smelled salty, but in a good way. (I think she was thinking of Sirens as Mermaids). Overall, I like it and have a bottle of it, but I wouldn't use it as an everyday scent because it is quite strong. It would be nice in winter or at night-time ... or if I was in the mood for an energizing scent

In the imp it smells very floral and sweet - perhaps from the Apple Blossom. When I first put it on the Sandalwood comes out and something quite sharp, the sweetness from the imp seems to have disappeared, I can understand how people could find it soapy. After a few mintues this dries down into something really pretty. A soft floral, that has a hint of something sweet, with the depth of the Sandalwood moving to the background, the green fig adds something extra. It's hard to describe but it ends up being soft, clean and floral ... nice for a hot summer day I find this quite faint, so I need to use quite a bit to get a good throw. Other people have commented on how nice this smells. I just wish that it lasted for longer. Out of the all the imps I got in my last order I have been wearing this one the most and since it is nearly running out I think that I may order a bottle.

On me Defututa is really cinnamony - I love the scent of cinnamon but my skin does something weird to it, and really amps it up.

In the imp the Queen of Hearts does smell very cherry-ish and cordial like, but it changed once it hit my skin. The florals from the Lillies came through much more and while the cherry is still there it moves to the background and becomes much softer. It turns into a really pretty, elegant and soft scent. My only issue is it's lasting power, it fades quie quickly but I've found putting a small amount into the ends of my hair makes it last longer and gives it better throw. It's the perfect scent for the Queen of Hearts, without the cherry in it the florals could become soapy and powdery but the cherry adds something extra and makes it quite unique. I loved it so much I ordered a bottle.

I am starting to realize that fruity florals from BPAL work well for me I love Persephone, in the imp it smells sweet - like roses and candy, but in a grown up and classy way. On my skin it doesn't change much. When first applied it smells like a rose in full bloom mixed with the sweet, fruitiness of the Pomegranate. It lasts quite well and stays like this for a few hours, after that the fruitiness fades and the rose stays. I find it quite an energizing scent, one that would be great for a hot summer day but I can imagine it would be great all year round. Overall, very nice and I am seriously considering getting a bottle.

So far I am figuring out that foody scents do not mix well with my skin chemistry and my skin amps up any kind of spiciness. It smells wonderful in the imp - like a winter pudding/dessert with caramel rum sauce - very yummy. Hellcat somehow goes a little wrong on my skin, and smells quite sickly sweet ... I'm not sure if there is any spice in this but it dries down to be a mix of ginger/caramel/cinnamon but not combining together in a good way. A little too foody for me. It's a very rich, strong scent with good throw and good for winter, it has the potential to grow on me. I gave the imp to my mum, who loves it and it smells perfect on her - I asked her what she was wearing one day and it was Hellcat but it was unrecognisable compared to the way that it smells on me. On her it smelt warm, soft and creamy. Oh well, at least it went to someone who loved it

In the imp this smells very woody to me, I can also smell the musks coming through and the sharpness of the mandarin, its definately very dry. This softens once its on my skin, and becomes slightly sweeter with the honeydew coming through. It still smells dry and desert-y, with the wood and musks being the dominant notes for me. I find that this dries down to smell very similar to Shedonism by Origins. But shedonism is slighty more floral and has some coconut in it. Overall, nice but not for me and smells too similar to another perfume I have.

The Red Queen really doesn't smell good on me, at any stage. It starts out with very strong cherry. After 10-15 minutes the woods start to come out, but they are quite dry and dusty on me. I generally find that wood notes don't work on me. So, in the end I get the smell of strong, dusty wood with a hint of cherry. They make an unusual combination I have heard that this is really nice aged so I will hold onto the imp and test it again in a few months.

Alice was one of my first imps and it is a very pretty and soft scent. In the imp it smells like lollies combined with flowers and almond essence. When first applied it has a sweet but spicy scent, I don't get any milk from it ... but definately the bergamot and tea. When it dried down it became even softer and the rose came through more. It is a pretty and innocent scent - exactly the way that I would imagine Alice to have smelt. ETA: Alice has become one of my favorites and gets worn regularly. Over time, I don't consider it to smell as young and innocent as I used too - it smells more womanly to me now.
