This smells almost exactly like Sybaris to me. It's all violet, with none of the subtle dark undertones it promised.

I bought this because I wanted to try one of BPAL's more "interesting" scents. Well, it is certainly interesting. Like some of the other reviewers, I was a bit perplexed by this. Wet: Imagine tossing a plastic bottle into a campfire. There's a smoldering wood scent, but also a chemical dirtiness. Dry: The metallic notes are starting to appear underneath the burnt wood. Yes, this scent is true to its name, but it is not wearable on me. I had to wash it off after a few hours. -
In the imp: Very foody; Irish coffee with extra sugar. Yeah, it smells like Bailey's. Wet: Irish coffee and a hint of leather. The wood starts to come through. Dry: Okay, I gave this a few hours to see if it would change at all-- but all I get is molding, dank books. The initial creamy sweetness is gone, and the pleasant leather smell has turned into decomposed book bindings. Perhaps that's the dust finally coming through? This is not the scent I was hoping for. It just doesn't work on me.

Wet: This smells almost exactly like Nanshe! I am getting primarily lemon and verbena with green tea. Dry: It's settled into a refreshing citrus, like lemon squeezed into a glass of iced green tea. I'm starting to get the lavender as well. This would be a good spring/summer scent.

Hemlock honey. Having never smelled hemlock, I can only assume it is the herbal undertone to this otherwise extreme honey scent. Not to say this isn't lovely (because it is), but I am really only getting these two primary notes. I'm not getting the musky scent that others have encountered. It lacks complexity, to me.

I love this for the same reason I love Kumiho. It is light, citrusy and floral. It becomes more floral on the drydown. For being such a clean scent, it's not too delicate. It has decent throw and lasts for hours. It's like the scent of florals being carried on an ocean breeze.

Speaking of De Sade, I wonder if it mellows out as it ages. I've heard complaints that it smells too chemical-y. Personally, I've never had the pleasure of trying it, but I'm determined to track it down someday. I just worry that it won't live up to my expectations!

Wet: Roses with a hint of myrrh. Sharp, almost tangy, if that's possible. Dry: Okay, now it's just straight up roses. To me, this scent lacks the depth that I thought the ingredients would impart. It just doesn't work with my skin.

This oil smells like body heat and sweet florals on me. I don't get all the notes described by other users, like orange and mango. It's not unpleasant, but it's the sort of scent I'd only wear in an office setting or something similar. Rather innocuous.

It's funny that so many people have noted that Kumiho doesn't last long, because this is one of the few scents I have that stays on all day! I immediately get strong florals and a hint of ginger, with white tea on the dry down. My imp is only 2 months old, so the notes might change. This is one of my favorites!

This smells exactly like a brand of tea I used to drink, Yogi's Super Antioxidant Green Tea. It has that herbal scent, along with the notes of lavender and lemon that the other reviewers mentioned, but I'm also getting strong tea notes.
