I was really hoping this would be like Appalling Abattoir or Blood Popsicle because both of those smell really nice on me but this does have a distinct yucky astringent quality to it like polysporin on used bandages. There is that gorgeous "blood" scent underneath and I can tell it wants to shine out as the main note on me but it just loses out to that overwhelming medicinal kind of ozone smell. Will give it another go but it might be like Graveyard Dirt where Halloween is the only possible occassion to wear it.

Probably my favourite BPAL scent, all lime and pepper with just a glossy overtone of shiny black leather. This is a scent that feels big, strong, and wild! Not a ton of throw but very intense when close, it really stays glued to my skin for hours and has a super long wear time on me (6+ hours). It's also an oil that seemingly just gets better with age I've been nursing a bottle for 5 years and it just gets more peppery and citrus-y as time goes on. Truly a wonderful smell.

I decided to use the very last of this imp which I've been hoarding for about a decade. What a wonderful scent! It makes me think of Cathode & Envy with a strong metallic tang in the bottle. Initially on my skin it's all ozone and herbs, sharp and astringent like a lightning strike. After an hour or so it mellows to dusty leather and steel with a hint of ozone (it make me think of leather aprons and welding). This salon series of imps was my first jump into BPAL and these years later it's bittersweet to say goodbye to one of my favourite scents

Wet: Deep and spicy.Very rich. Drying: So warm and slightly peppery like the fields of poppies in Oz. I'm not getting any of the (what I think should be) civet and very little musk has come through. Dry: Still rather spicy and nice pleasantly piquant. This is a nice winter smell as I think it would be to warm for summer. Cozy and yet disquieting like rereading an old raunchy favourite (id est Eugénie de Franval). Deliciously naughty but oh so nice. I think I might need a bottle of this. 5/5

From all the reviews I was hoping for something bleak but instead Mad Meg was sweet and earthy. Wet: Terry's dark chocolate orange. It smells like a christmas treat. Drying: The vetiver steps up (YAY) as does the black mandarin still though it smells like something to eat. Dry: The colours are right for the painting but not the subject matter. The cinnamon has come out but it's still predominantly orange it makes me think of pomanders. I never thought it would smell so edible.

I think I need a bottle of this... Wet: Gorgeous light oils and the star anise shines giving it a very exotic Egyptian feel. Drying: Barely there metallics gloss over the frankincense and star anise. I love this. Highly polished leather adds all the more to this scentscape. Dry: The oils are still there and the star anise shines with just a bit more metallic bite. Absolutely perfect.

Almost prefect...but not quite. In the bottle: Lightning and an apothecary. Rather herbal in a medicinal way but I like that. Wet:Leather. A sort of human skin book leather very taboo and old and slightly evil smelling. The smell of the air before the real storm hits. It's like standing in a wet grassy (herbal) field after the rain has stopped but before the sky has cleared and knowing just knowing that every thing will be worse. I LOVE it. Something like steel and expectation. Drying(30min-60min):Still that forbidden leather and steel scent but something salty and slightly reeking of ammonia has come through. Herein the problem lies. It smells like urine. Why did my skin have to ruin this for me. There are no loving gods. Dry(3 Hours): Thankfully the ammonia has subsided and it's gone to faint leather and medicinals.

Wet: Double Bubble. That nice original bubblegum flavour but as a scent. Very Strong. On my skin: Wow yep that sure is bubblegum. I smell like a candy store/paedophile. Drying(30min-60min): Still very pink smelling but with a nice punch of citrus sadly I think I'm missing out on the cherry lollies. Dry(3 Hours): A middle aged woman's floral scent has crept out from the stickiness and I think of trying on your mom's perfume when you're little. The bubblegum is still there as is the citrus (almost like candied peel) but it's really evened out and toned down to something rather lovely and surprisingly un-trampish. There it is my first review. Shiny.
