  1. Often vetiver works on me. Sometimes vetiver is gorgeous on me. I have no axe to grind against vetiver

    BUT

Something in this has a very medicinal top note. I don't know what it is, but it smells like I'm wearing ointment -in fact, it smells exactly like the elderly Germolene my Gran used to put on grazes when I was about six. Interesting memory but not a scent I want to wear!

  2. Lemon verbena and herbs - I only know what the herbs are from reading the description, but there's a green herby scent behind the lemon verbena. Very nice and summery.

As it dries, the musk becomes a bit more evident, but apart from that it does not change much.

  3. How odd! Nutty toffee with floral top notes. Close to, it's foodier, and at a distance it's more floral. I either love it or hate it and right at the moment I'm not sure which - I'll either wear it all the time or not at all, and then I'll know...

  4. This is gorgeous. More violet than rose but definitely not all violet.

Unfortunately, after a glorious 15 minutes it subsides and lies so close to my skin that I have to put my wrist right next to my nose to smell any of it. Too subtle for me, I think.

  5. Cedar makes me nervous. Normally it amps on me something rotten and I just smell like a freshly sawn plank (not really my thing). I am really surprised to learn that there is cedar in this. On me, it's a lovely light delicate scent - I can smell sandalwood and lavender and something else. I would never have expected it to work from the description, but it does!

  6. It's not "that time" for me, so this will probably smell completely different in 2 weeks, but today it smells like a box of turkish delight!

Seriously, on me this is rose, lemon and icing sugar with a faint huff of angelica.

It's very nice and totally unexpected.

  7. So my husband is helping me go through my new scents. We open gluttony. We sniff gluttony.

"MMMMM" says husband. "That's really good."

"Won't work on me," I say. "It'll go buttery."

I open something else. Husband hangs on to gluttony bottle and keeps sniffing. I have lots of nice bottles to sniff. I open another bottle and offer it to him. Husband, however, is still sniffing gluttony.

"So can we try this?" says husband.

    "Won't work," I say.

"No, can we try it on me."

So I put a tiny dab on each of his wrists.

"Great!" he exclaims. "I smell like sticky toffee pudding! Put some on, this is really good!"

I sniff his wrist. He smells exactly like sticky toffee pudding with toasted nuts on top. I try some on me. It smells like very salty butter with an artificial toffee note. And it DOES NOT WASH OFF.

My husband has been sniffing his wrist all evening. I have given him the bottle. He is very pleased with it.

    So, in summary

    1. When this scent smells right, it smells like sticky toffee pudding with nuts on

    2. When this scent goes wrong, it goes really wrong.

    3. At least one man thinks it's wonderful...but he's taken :P .

  8. On me, this is all honeysuckle. I love honeysuckle, so it's definitely a mood-lifter. :P

As others have mentioned, it does have quite a strong throw and a tiny tiny dot lasts for hours. But I will probably add a bottle to my next order because I keep reaching for it and this could be the first imp I use up completely!

  9. On me, this starts as a very aquatic, herbal scent - no flowers but lots of damp green leaves. After a while, a very pretty light floral scent appears from nowhere and wafts about a bit but if I put my nose close to my wrist then I just smell the herbal again - it's almost like I'm wearing two perfumes! But they're both very nice and they stick around for a good long time (6hrs +) so who's complaining?!

It's a lot prettier than I would have expected given the description!
