I bought this un-sniffed full bottle just for the notes. The only one that made me nervous was the wine note, which BPAL's hardly ever works on me. My stupid chem changes it into grape koolaid. But not this time. This is really beautiful on me. The dark chocolate is the first note in the bottle and on my skin. Then it fades into the back ground and I get beautiful spiced wine. The maize is not really a note I can tell from the others, but it rounds out the scent as a whole. I love this so much. I really want a second bottle. I love it in the Summer, but it would be perfect for Autumn too. My friend said it was heavy duty and she thought it was a Fall scent. I love enabling.

I too got this as a frimp, and I love it! I would buy big bottle or two of this one Beth. Moss, grass, leather, smoke, maybe peat moss (?)and a hint of floral and maybe ozone to lighten it up a bit. Wow, just wow. Thanks for the frimp!

I too get all honey and amber. No lemon HAI CAN I B LEMON PLEDGE NOW, K THX! Which my skin loves to amp to its fullest until I smell like I sprayed myself with dusting spray. I really wanted the spices to come out more, because I love what Beth does with spices, especially clove. I think it is just because I am a scent ho' and can't keep my mits off and I have to try them RIGHT NOW DAMMIT, instead of letting the precious rest after being bounced around by the post and sitting in my hot mailbox in the Texas heat. I really love Mead Moon even if the spices are being shy. And, I think the baby made Beth make two oils that would go great together. I think her sprout is a perfume oil genius in the making. Hay Moon and Mead Moon are like that new lubricant for him and her. You know those comercials... "when they get together <insert operatic score here>? That is what Hay and Mead Moon do for my nose. Apart they are wonderful, together they create a nosegasm! Love them both thanks Beth!

Hay Moon smells of grasses and sweet amber and golden honey. I don't get any lemon thank goodness, as I tend to amp anything with lemon into OH HAI CAN I BZ LEMON PLEDGE PLZ? At first this is sweet, then it warms up and becomes more dry grass and wheat with a hint of lovely honey. This smells like the end of Summer to me, when days are still hot, but cooler nights are hinting at Autumns entrance. I love this Beth, thanks so much! I tried this first, as soon as I got the package, because I couldn't resist and it has all the notes I love. When I sprayed it, nothing really, then FIG, FIG, FIIIIIIG!!!! I love fig, and then the smoke note and patchouli made their way on stage with black tea just making everything smooth. And the sweetness of fig was tempered with the smell of burning Autumn leaves. This is fantastic by itself and while I wear the bath oil and perfume oils on my skin. I am so tempted to buy another set of this. I love it. Oh Beth if you kept this around all year round I would gladly spend the money on it. Oh and I want a t-shirt with the little Mummy goblin. he is so cute (I don't want much do I?). Now, I feel I cannot review this properly without mentioning how this oil blends and combines with the bath oil and the room spray (reviews on each of those will include impressions with the perfume oil). I didn't get to take a bath yet, but I had to well, rub on the bath oil to my forearm then apply the perfume oil to my wrist, then I sprayed my room spray. OMFG!!!!!! Here I am in the middle of a hot Mo' fukkin' Tex-ass Summer, and I am instantly transported to Autumn. My favorite Season (the imps' quiz was indeed the most accurate of quizzes). The bath oil smells of dry golden Autumn grasses, combined with the crisp, sweet freshness of the apple, and the heavy dark fig and patchouli with bonfire smoke and I am on a hill in a field of dry grass on a crisp Fall day eating a picnic of sweet apple and fig while someone burns leaves in the distance. This is so damn good, I am fighting the bad angel to buy another set and horde it.

I too thought that this was way to sweet in the bottle. And I haven't tried it in the bath yet (more like an old west pine coffin in size and shape). But I wanted to review it for those of you still debating on spending the money. Let me tell you, you want this if you love Autumn. When I put this on my skin the sweetness of the sugar went away and I was left with grass, and spices with a hint of molasses but just the barest huff of treacle. It smells of a field in Autumn when the grass is yellow and turned to staw. It smells of the hay in a hay ride at the pumpkin farm while the smell of spicey baked goods that the farmer's wife made to sell wafts on a crisp Fall afternoon, I love it. Ok so if this trio of L'Autunno oil, room spray and bath oil is the result of Beth's hormonal overloaded pregnancy brain (as my friend called it when she had her bun in the oven) then I hope Beth decides to get pregnant like a rabbit. The perfume oil is all apple and figs with a hint of spice. The smoke and myrrh are very light, in fact I can hardly tell they are there. This is sparkling and fresh and sweet, like Samhain without the pine. I am with Scylla GO WHIPS! In the bottle, carmel popcorn with peanuts. On my skin, carmel coated popcorn with peanuts, though the peanuts are really subtle. Don't be afraid of the nuts or the popcorn. Mostly this is just creamy golden caramel. Similar to Misc U without the coffee or woods. I love the penant and the shirt, and I love, love, love the oil. Thanks Momma Shub and your 10,000 little'uns! Let's play ball!

In the bottle this is all pineapple and coconut. Like a pineapple pina colada. On my skin the pineapple domainates with the coconut. But as it warms it turns into pina colada only and then something amazing happens. It turns into spice rum. Cinnamon and booze. OMG! I am so glad I took a chance on a bottle of this! Thanks Beth! Please bring these back next Summer, no changes, just as they are, you really really did some great work here. I love the Tiki fad of the fifties, so thanks!

Ok so back when I was just a new little BPAL virgin, someone sent me an imp of the old Hex not realizing I think how much of a treasure they had. I loved it, my mom loved it. It was all smoke, skin musk and light green almost sweet herbals. Jump with me to 08. It is the cousin, but not a first degree relative of the first, and I love it for itself. It is pine, but not fake Pinsol pine or Christmas tree scent in a spray bottle. This is so well blended, and on my skin, it is fantastic. I get skin musk, pine, herbs, and a hint of smoke. I know my original sample was aged when I got it. And this will age beautifully too. I am hoping more smoke comes out as it gets older. I loved this so much, I bought another bottle from a fellow BPALer who was kind enough to sell me one of her extras. Gotta say, another winner for me.

I love, love, love Freceric! OMFG! This is fantastic. The Yules didn't work on me, the Valentines either. But Frederic, WOW! I dont' get men's cologne. I get salty air from the high seas, and a bit of dandy's cologne, and a hint of rose. Very nice. The rose doesn't go all old lady either, which I have to worry about. I wish I could have gotten a second bottle. This is sexxor, yes it is! Nice job Beth and the labbies.

LOL, I get exactly what Filigree gets. Sugary candy powder. I don't get caramel, or chimney dust. But I smell it faintly in there, the violets as well. But my skin just amps the sugary powdery candy. That isn't a bad thing just not my thing. With that said, I think a little aging might bring out more charcoal and tame the candy. So I am keeping the generous 2ml freebie someone gave me, with a trade, and the decant someone frimped me with. As Filigree said, it really is kinda cute, and something about it tugs at me to keep it a while and try again.

In the bottle: smokey vetiver. I happen to love smoke and vetiver so this isn't a bad thing, but it is strong whoo boy! Wet: smokey vetiver. Dry down: smokey vetiver with an underlying smoothness, there is a creaminess that is mellowing out the smoke and vetiver. 30 minutes: smokey vetiver and a soft, sweet, creaminess that I think is khus. Eros mentioned saffron, and I agree, there is just a hint. I don't get spices at all, but it is one of Beth's blends and we know how well the notes can work together so you can't tell them apart. Conclusion: This is the scent of my favorite time of year. Funnily, October is too. It is just like the changing moods of Autumn. Death of Autumn is a cloudy day in October, and October is a sunny day where the light is like golden Chamagne. I love all the scents Beth has created for this lovely season. Rating 1-5: 5!

I usually do a full range of scent discription from in the bottle, wet, dry down, and 30 minutes. But Autumn does not needs such analytical prose. I kept smelling my wrist and saying, this smells familiar. It was love at first sniff. Then it hit me. Autumn is a femme version of Samhain 05 without the heavy tobacco or fir. This is Samhain's sister. Elegant, lush, sophisticated and beautiful. It smells like Autumn too, when I was walking outside in TX version of Fall. I smelled roses, and smoke and fallen leaves, just like Beth's interpretation. I felt a part of my surroundings. I love it. I am in the midst of trying to have a Cali resident pick up a bottle or two for me. This will age beautifully too. If you were afraid of the rose note, don't be. I amp rose, and this does not turn into old lady on me. Don't pass this one by, it is a thing of beauty. Brava Beth and the labbies!

In the bottle: chocolate! Just lovely yummy chocolate. Wet: chocolate and something bitter, with dragons blood and a low key floral. Houston we could have a problem. Dry down: the dragon's blood has amped up, my skin always does this with db, and some florals. This may be a loss. But wait, woods and smoke and chocolate beat the db into submission and trample the flowers. YAY! 30 minutes: incense smoke, and db which continues to behave, all on a base of chocolate. The chocolate isn't foody either. Conclusion: I love the God of the Smoking Mirror. This is shagaliscious good. Not foody, not floral, for those who worry it would be. This is so damn good. Big bottle list, if I ever get to order GC cuz I am always after LEs. Rating 1-5: 5
