I bought this un-sniffed full bottle just for the notes. The only one that made me nervous was the wine note, which BPAL's hardly ever works on me. My stupid chem changes it into grape koolaid. But not this time. This is really beautiful on me. The dark chocolate is the first note in the bottle and on my skin. Then it fades into the back ground and I get beautiful spiced wine. The maize is not really a note I can tell from the others, but it rounds out the scent as a whole. I love this so much. I really want a second bottle. I love it in the Summer, but it would be perfect for Autumn too. My friend said it was heavy duty and she thought it was a Fall scent. I love enabling.

I too got this as a frimp, and I love it! I would buy big bottle or two of this one Beth. Moss, grass, leather, smoke, maybe peat moss (?)and a hint of floral and maybe ozone to lighten it up a bit. Wow, just wow. Thanks for the frimp!

I too get all honey and amber. No lemon HAI CAN I B LEMON PLEDGE NOW, K THX! Which my skin loves to amp to its fullest until I smell like I sprayed myself with dusting spray. I really wanted the spices to come out more, because I love what Beth does with spices, especially clove. I think it is just because I am a scent ho' and can't keep my mits off and I have to try them RIGHT NOW DAMMIT, instead of letting the precious rest after being bounced around by the post and sitting in my hot mailbox in the Texas heat. I really love Mead Moon even if the spices are being shy. And, I think the baby made Beth make two oils that would go great together. I think her sprout is a perfume oil genius in the making. Hay Moon and Mead Moon are like that new lubricant for him and her. You know those comercials... "when they get together <insert operatic score here>? That is what Hay and Mead Moon do for my nose. Apart they are wonderful, together they create a nosegasm! Love them both thanks Beth!

Hay Moon smells of grasses and sweet amber and golden honey. I don't get any lemon thank goodness, as I tend to amp anything with lemon into OH HAI CAN I BZ LEMON PLEDGE PLZ? At first this is sweet, then it warms up and becomes more dry grass and wheat with a hint of lovely honey. This smells like the end of Summer to me, when days are still hot, but cooler nights are hinting at Autumns entrance. I love this Beth, thanks so much! I tried this first, as soon as I got the package, because I couldn't resist and it has all the notes I love. When I sprayed it, nothing really, then FIG, FIG, FIIIIIIG!!!! I love fig, and then the smoke note and patchouli made their way on stage with black tea just making everything smooth. And the sweetness of fig was tempered with the smell of burning Autumn leaves. This is fantastic by itself and while I wear the bath oil and perfume oils on my skin. I am so tempted to buy another set of this. I love it. Oh Beth if you kept this around all year round I would gladly spend the money on it. Oh and I want a t-shirt with the little Mummy goblin. he is so cute (I don't want much do I?). Now, I feel I cannot review this properly without mentioning how this oil blends and combines with the bath oil and the room spray (reviews on each of those will include impressions with the perfume oil). I didn't get to take a bath yet, but I had to well, rub on the bath oil to my forearm then apply the perfume oil to my wrist, then I sprayed my room spray. OMFG!!!!!! Here I am in the middle of a hot Mo' fukkin' Tex-ass Summer, and I am instantly transported to Autumn. My favorite Season (the imps' quiz was indeed the most accurate of quizzes). The bath oil smells of dry golden Autumn grasses, combined with the crisp, sweet freshness of the apple, and the heavy dark fig and patchouli with bonfire smoke and I am on a hill in a field of dry grass on a crisp Fall day eating a picnic of sweet apple and fig while someone burns leaves in the distance. This is so damn good, I am fighting the bad angel to buy another set and horde it.

I too thought that this was way to sweet in the bottle. And I haven't tried it in the bath yet (more like an old west pine coffin in size and shape). But I wanted to review it for those of you still debating on spending the money. Let me tell you, you want this if you love Autumn. When I put this on my skin the sweetness of the sugar went away and I was left with grass, and spices with a hint of molasses but just the barest huff of treacle. It smells of a field in Autumn when the grass is yellow and turned to staw. It smells of the hay in a hay ride at the pumpkin farm while the smell of spicey baked goods that the farmer's wife made to sell wafts on a crisp Fall afternoon, I love it. Now, I feel I cannot review this properly without mentioning how this oil blends and combines with the bath oil and the room spray (reviews on each of those will include impressions with the perfume oil). Ok so if this trio of L'Autunno oil, room spray and bath oil is the result of Beth's hormonal overloaded pregnancy brain (as my friend called it when she had her bun in the oven) then I hope Beth decides to get pregnant like a rabbit. The perfume oil is all apple and figs with a hint of spice. The smoke and myrrh are very light, in fact I can hardly tell they are there. This is sparkling and fresh and sweet, like Samhain without the pine. Now, I feel I cannot review this properly without mentioning how this oil blends and combines with the bath oil and the room spray (reviews on each of those will include impressions with the perfume oil). I am with Scylla GO WHIPS! In the bottle, carmel popcorn with peanuts. On my skin, carmel coated popcorn with peanuts, though the peanuts are really subtle. Don't be afraid of the nuts or the popcorn. Mostly this is just creamy golden caramel. Similar to Misc U without the coffee or woods. I love the penant and the shirt, and I love, love, love the oil. Thanks Momma Shub and your 10,000 little'uns! Let's play ball!

In the bottle this is all pineapple and coconut. Like a pineapple pina colada. On my skin the pineapple domainates with the coconut. But as it warms it turns into pina colada only and then something amazing happens. It turns into spice rum. Cinnamon and booze. OMG! I am so glad I took a chance on a bottle of this! Thanks Beth! Please bring these back next Summer, no changes, just as they are, you really really did some great work here. I love the Tiki fad of the fifties, so thanks!

Ok so back when I was just a new little BPAL virgin, someone sent me an imp of the old Hex not realizing I think how much of a treasure they had. I loved it, my mom loved it. It was all smoke, skin musk and light green almost sweet herbals. Jump with me to 08. It is the cousin, but not a first degree relative of the first, and I love it for itself. It is pine, but not fake Pinsol pine or Christmas tree scent in a spray bottle. This is so well blended, and on my skin, it is fantastic. I get skin musk, pine, herbs, and a hint of smoke. I know my original sample was aged when I got it. And this will age beautifully too. I am hoping more smoke comes out as it gets older. I loved this so much, I bought another bottle from a fellow BPALer who was kind enough to sell me one of her extras. Gotta say, another winner for me.

I love, love, love Freceric! OMFG! This is fantastic. The Yules didn't work on me, the Valentines either. But Frederic, WOW! I dont' get men's cologne. I get salty air from the high seas, and a bit of dandy's cologne, and a hint of rose. Very nice. The rose doesn't go all old lady either, which I have to worry about. I wish I could have gotten a second bottle. This is sexxor, yes it is! Nice job Beth and the labbies.

LOL, I get exactly what Filigree gets. Sugary candy powder. I don't get caramel, or chimney dust. But I smell it faintly in there, the violets as well. But my skin just amps the sugary powdery candy. That isn't a bad thing just not my thing. With that said, I think a little aging might bring out more charcoal and tame the candy. So I am keeping the generous 2ml freebie someone gave me, with a trade, and the decant someone frimped me with. As Filigree said, it really is kinda cute, and something about it tugs at me to keep it a while and try again.

In the bottle: smokey vetiver. I happen to love smoke and vetiver so this isn't a bad thing, but it is strong whoo boy! Wet: smokey vetiver. Dry down: smokey vetiver with an underlying smoothness, there is a creaminess that is mellowing out the smoke and vetiver. 30 minutes: smokey vetiver and a soft, sweet, creaminess that I think is khus. Eros mentioned saffron, and I agree, there is just a hint. I don't get spices at all, but it is one of Beth's blends and we know how well the notes can work together so you can't tell them apart. Conclusion: This is the scent of my favorite time of year. Funnily, October is too. It is just like the changing moods of Autumn. Death of Autumn is a cloudy day in October, and October is a sunny day where the light is like golden Chamagne. I love all the scents Beth has created for this lovely season. Rating 1-5: 5!

I usually do a full range of scent discription from in the bottle, wet, dry down, and 30 minutes. But Autumn does not needs such analytical prose. I kept smelling my wrist and saying, this smells familiar. It was love at first sniff. Then it hit me. Autumn is a femme version of Samhain 05 without the heavy tobacco or fir. This is Samhain's sister. Elegant, lush, sophisticated and beautiful. It smells like Autumn too, when I was walking outside in TX version of Fall. I smelled roses, and smoke and fallen leaves, just like Beth's interpretation. I felt a part of my surroundings. I love it. I am in the midst of trying to have a Cali resident pick up a bottle or two for me. This will age beautifully too. If you were afraid of the rose note, don't be. I amp rose, and this does not turn into old lady on me. Don't pass this one by, it is a thing of beauty. Brava Beth and the labbies!

In the bottle: chocolate! Just lovely yummy chocolate. Wet: chocolate and something bitter, with dragons blood and a low key floral. Houston we could have a problem. Dry down: the dragon's blood has amped up, my skin always does this with db, and some florals. This may be a loss. But wait, woods and smoke and chocolate beat the db into submission and trample the flowers. YAY! 30 minutes: incense smoke, and db which continues to behave, all on a base of chocolate. The chocolate isn't foody either. Conclusion: I love the God of the Smoking Mirror. This is shagaliscious good. Not foody, not floral, for those who worry it would be. This is so damn good. Big bottle list, if I ever get to order GC cuz I am always after LEs. Rating 1-5: 5

In the bottle: coconut and bay rum. Sing it with me now, "put the lime in de' coconut and drink it all up." I think someone did drink it all up and I sniffing the remenants of what was in the coconut shell. This is so soft even in the bottle, I can hardly smell it. Wet: still soft and gentle coconut (not suntan lotion, pina coload coconut). This is raw coconut, fresh meat in the shell, low key and smooth, creamy. Dry down: creamy soft coconut and a boozy rum note with a base of herbal greens. I hate coconut in real life, pina colodas are my one exception. I now have a second coconut excetion, Brown Jenkins. 30 minutes: soft creamy coconut and green herbs. Conclusion: I hate coconut in real life, pina colodas are my one exception. I now have a second coconut excetion, Brown Jenkins. I love this critter, he can nuzzle me anytime. Rating 1-5: 4.5 due to it being so soft.

In the bottle: dragon's blood and sandalwood, very nice. Wet: dragon's blood and sandalwood. Dry down: DRAGON'S BLOOD, and sandalwood. Ok so I amp DB sooo much. This may not work on me after all. 30 minutes: sandalwood has stuck a lance into dragon's blood and stands with his foot resting on the carcass like Captain Morgan. This smells very nice. Conclusion: this turns into just a soft lovely sandalwood. I was worried about the DB, my chemistry just makes it almost impossible to wear. Aries for instance, which has so many lovely notes and I get DB singlenote from it, which always smells like some floral on me. Not this. Aged this will be even better. Rating 1-5: 3.5-4

In the bottle: sweet and sultry, lilac and juniper really jump out. Wet: lilac and juniperberry continue to stand out, the rosewood, orchid and bergamot are lending a sweetness to this but are so well blended I cannot pick them out seperately. Musk and sandalwood are making a smooth base to this, again, not so I can tell them distincly from the rest. Dry down: juniperberry and lilac still are the top notes like the two stars in an opera singing their duet. The floodlights are on them, you see them, and if you look you see the supporting cast in the shadows lending their voices. 30 minutes: juniperberry and lilac are blending into the whole crowd as the whole cast has come out to sing the last piece in the opera. The whole stage is lit and everyone gets to blend together. Lovely. Conclusion: I actually had to try this twice. The first time I hated it, it was jarring and the juniperberry registered as an awful sour wine note like Athens did to me. But, I had just pulled it from a hot mailbox. I figured it was in shock. A few weeks later and it smells like a dream on me. Rating 1-5: 4.5

In the bottle: a light green herbal. Wet: still a green herbal, but the plant has bloomed and it sweetens up a bit. Still fresh and lovely. Dry down: green herbal the blooms have died and it has a salty bitter tang to it now. Really really bitter and salty and really really nasty on my skin. 30 minutes: salty bitter tang lasted too long, and this turned back into a green herbal. Conclusion: I wanted to love Asphodel, unfortunately my skin had other ideas. Rating 1-5: 2.5

In the bottle: toast with perfume counter perfume on it? My nose must be off... Wet: a bitter floral with soapy undertones. Toast got eaten by man eating flowers. Feed me Seymour! Dry down: fresh floral with a hint of lemon, this is much nicer than toast and perfume. 30 minutes: floral with a hint of lemon, the lemon is threatening as it always does to turn into Pledge. *sigh* Conclusion: nope not for me. It is very lovely, much better than I thought it would be given the bottle sniff. Maybe mum or Mandragora would like it, and it would suit them better. I am a leather, smoke, spices, woods girl. Rating 1-5: 3

In the bottle: UGGGHHH, the stank, skunk flowers as I like to call them. Jasmine and paperwhites, lovely odor on top, skunk musk underneath. Guess which one my chemistry amps? Pepe Le Pew would have nothing on me. Wet: yep, this is nasty funky skunky on me. There is hope that the other notes may get rid of these stinky flowers. Dry down: skunk funk. There is hope that the other notes may get rid of these stinky flowers. 30 minutes: nope, no such luck. Musky skunk smell rules. Conclusion: well, it would definitely help me mend my broken heart fast, just to get it off of me. But it is not Beth's blend's fault. It is my stupid chemistry!!!! <--- I am sending the villagers Rating 1-5: 1.

The Heavenly One is the Muse of Astrology and Astronomy, and guides all those who look to the stars for knowledge. She wears a flowing cloak embroidered with her beloved stars, holds a staff and a globe, and her eyes are skyward. Her scent is that of endless, star-clad space: glittering, cool, vast. Moonflower, Moroccan jasmine, benzoin, white musk, iris, moss and a flash of ozone. I wasn't expecting to like this at all with the jasmine in it. Jasmine and I don't get along, she turns into a bully that I need a restraining order to stop. In the bottle: creamy floral, no funky skunk smell. Jasmine seems to be taking a powder. I smell creamy moonflower, which reminds me of heliotrope for some reason. Wet: creamy floral with a hing of sweetness. Maybe the benzoin? This is really lovely. Dry down: light lovely floral. My restraining order for jasmine must be working. This isn't turning into a jasmine single note, nor powder. In some ways this is reminding me of Dormouse. This is very peony like to my nose. 30 minutes: I smell moonflowers, and the musk, an irish moss are laying on the grass amongst moonflowers, making out. The ozone has come out, and this becomes slightly aquatic., which I love, and Beth's aquatics love me. Not like jasmine's fatal attraction leave a rabbit cooking on your stove kinda way. Conclusion: I like this. Very evocative of a dark starry night in Spring. Big bottle no, imps yes. I may use this for ritual. Rating 1-5: 3.5-4

In the bottle: rose and nutmeg and saffron. Wet: rose and nutmeg and saffron.... yummy! Dry down: rose saffron, nutmeg with a creamy sandalwood base, and musk wafting in and out bringing it all together. The mandarin and bergamot really hides way down beneaht the sandalwood, barely there, giving this a hint of tartness. This is utterly femme, exotic, and totally beautiful. 30 minutes: lovely true rose (which is hit or miss on me, can we say old lady? I knew that you could). So lovely true dewy rose, nutmeg, saffron, amber and musk, with a hint of mandarin and bergamot. In fact, I think the bergamot, is actually what is keeping the rose from turning into powder on me. Whip that rose, beat it, make it say the f-word... fragrant! What f-word did you think I meant you dirty birds! Conclusion: Beth's nutmeg note rocks my world, every oil I have tried with it in it, has worked like a charm on me. I love this, LOVE I tell you! <---- see? This is exotic, beautiful, complex and feme. This is elegant and erotic. In fact, I may not be deserving to wear this, no haute coutuer here, but I must have a big bottle. This is a top ten for sure. Beth, thank you, for this perfume you get a , because that is what I did when I tried this. Rating 1-5: 5 ++++

In the bottle: lily and jasmine. Wet: lily and jasmine, with that lovely ode d' skunk funk I get when jasmine hits my skin. Why jasmine, why?!?! Dry down: a very nice floral. The funky skunky has gone, and now this is really pleasant. The amber and musk provide a nice base for this, smoothing and grounding the floral notes. This is very well blended, and seems to have melded with my skin so I cannot smell any notes on their own. 30 minutes: this is a complete surprise! With the skunk funk of jasmine, I was sure it would be a swapper. But the other notes have all gotten rid of Pepe Le Pew, and it smells divine! Conclusion: luckily the skunk funk didnt' last long. It is the only thing making me hedge on a big bottle. Beth and the labbies are geniuses. Because of BPAL I actually can wear some florals, so I have had to rethink my "no florals, no way, not just no, but HELL NO", policy, LOL. Rating 1-5: 3.5-4, only loses points for Pepe's apperance.

... Her scent is rife with pathos, and inspires us with the ability to express our grief, loss, and the pain in our souls in a cathartic, creative fashion: dark cypress with mint, geranium, Bulgar lavender, orange blossom and passion flower. In the bottle: peppery floral with a hint of citrus. This is lovely. Wet: peppery floral with a hint of citrus. Hmmm, I think the peppery part is the lavender, it registers with a pepper note sometimes. Dry down: the orange blossom and the passion flower or maybe geranium(? I can't tell the flowers apart, no idea what a geranium smells like) are coing to the fore and the peppery lavender is stepping back. This all floats on a nice very subtle base which I can only guess is the cypress. The citrus from the orange blossom is subtle and adds a light happy note. 30 minutes: grounded orange blossom. I don't know if all the other notes faded, or just blended together and made a stage where orange blossom could strut her stuff. But this turns into a well grounded orange blossom. I like this more than I thought I would! Beth never ceases to amaze me. Conclusion: I like Melopmene alot. It is subtle, summery, and lovely. It doesn't turn into cleaner, powder, or candy. I will definitely use my imp, especially in the summer heat. Big bottle, I am leaning that way. Rating: 4
