Favorite Scents
BPAL: Argh! I still don't know yet. So much scent, so little time. Favorite Notes: Sandalwood!!!!!! Amber, Musk, Patchouli, smoke & incense, Jasmine, Lilac, Rose, Moonflowers, Stargazer Lilies, others....brain freeze.... Really can't take: Orange straight-up & to a lesser degree Lemon straight-up, but I like Lime, go figure. Floral Orientals seem to work best with me. Maybe. Hmmm... I think I like icy scents. Interesting....

Here's the key: One through five in order. ETA: This is the key for both 2005 & 2006.

Here is the BPTP announcement from 4/07 which talks about the labels - snip for space Also IIRC most people said that the batch of bottles that came with the critters were slightly more floral in scent while the batch of bottles that were sold without the critters were slightly more creamy in scent.

From what I understand Champa flower is different from Champaca flower. Plumeria flowers are known as Champa flowers in India but Champaca flower (Michelia champaca) is part of the Magnolia family. It is quite possible that different manufacturers use either flower in their blends. So perhaps add Magnolia as a part of your search as well. Hope this isn't confusing you.

I think what you have been smelling is an incense called Nag Champa. It is a lovely scent made up of resins, gums, spices & flowers. I suggest getting some to see if that is the floral scent you've been captivated by. And do a search to see what BPAL blends contain Nag Champa. You may also want to search for Plumeria since Plumeria flowers are known as Champa flowers in India. Good luck!

The pictures are the same but... The 2006 labels are the older paper labels with no date. The 2007 labels are the newer shiny labels with the date in the bottom right corner. So I'd assume that you have the 2006 since the paper labels were much easier to destroy.

I might be wrong on this but I don't believe the re-release was available as a 10 ml. Does anyone else know?

At first glance my mind went, "Is that a little UFO beaming something up?"

Ah ha! So, this was the lone post of mine that was spit out of the Universe like a watermelon seed! (Being basically a lurker has it’s advantages. I can pretty much remember what I posted when it vanishes into the ethers.) OK, let’s see if I really can remember what I said: Lookie, lookie! New Imp Label Logo Change Alert! The Macha designed image that appears on bottles of Red, Pink & Black Phoenix is now the logo on the back of imp labels. My latest imp of Somnus had it. (Sorry for the crappy pic. My camera has been dying a slow death.) New on the left, old on the right. (Yes, I’m Mistress of the Obvious, why do you ask?) Ta Da!
