Hmm..I wanted to try all the Haunted House oils...loved the concept and label artwork was gorgeous! I have only managed to try 2 so far though hehe! So...The Atrocious Attic is...yes..floral. But it's also another time that a floral has been completely different to what I expected. The other time was with "The Unicorn" YUM!!!. It's very soft, no lavender at all..Sandalwood? Nope... It's mainly the Tea Rose and Lily. It does have a slight powder edge to it. And fits the description perfectly...A crumbling Bridal Boquet. I like it but I'd never have bought a bottle of this at all because of the scary floralness of it! It turned out good and have receieved a compliment from a co worker too. Not a massive stand out scent but still pretty. It's clean and soft and I konw a few people who would like this very much.

When I read the description for this I said...yup...I'm getting that immediately, if not? Sooner! How could I resist that description? Ok so, this smells more fruity in the bottle than it does on the skin, when wet..it's a lighter version of sugar skull..that was hella strong brown burnt sugar on me. This is lighter with s strawberry background. It's effing gorgeous! I just strolled into work and my colleague said Tom...you smell like a sweet shop. So..I probed...and I said what do you mean? And he said..you smell like when you stand near the pick n' mix counter in a department store! This filled me with glee haha! The slightly burnt sugaryness dies down after a while, and lets the strawberry though a bit more. I adore this stage of it. And I'm hoping for this marshmallow to make a massive appearance! Taffy? I'm not getting sadly...but there is something else poking through...it smells like Cotton Candy to me, like the fruit stripe cotton candy gum. This is mixed with the strawberry and the light burnt sugar. This is so much fun and soooo sweet I can see why it gives people a toothache just thinking about it! To me? This is brilliant and it's turning me into a foody. BPAL foody scents are winning me over recently when, before I didn't really care much for them! There's definately marshmallow in here, my colleague just said...you smell like "Flumps". When I walked past which..are MARSHMALLOWS!! So this is a winner! Must have more! Sweet sweet sweet! I get no lint...or anything else. Just a whole lot of yumness!

MMMMMM! This smells like "Jelly Tots" when it's wet. I'm not sure if everyone knows what they are but...they are these small blobs of chewy jelly covered in sugar. This smells like when you put half a packet in your mouth at once and chew..(Yes..I do that). That's the intial wet burst. Then comes a slight aquatic/ozone tone...with lots of citrus. It's very fresh. Then there's a little bit more fruit...something a bit more tropical... This is better than I remember when I first smelled it when I got my imp so so long ago. Amber I'm not getting as of yet. It stays in this fruity/slighty aqautic stage for a while.. The tangy edge fades after about another 10 minutes..and it goes softer, this stage reminds me of Gucci Rush for women. Then it just fades out....

This is a nice simple scent. At first it's wet juicy cucumber and grass. The description basically sums it up enough to be honest. Very fresh, and very realistic. There's not alot of throw but I don't think cucumber is supposed to have alot of throw. It's true to what it is...cool...watery..calming and refreshing. The cucumber fades quite quickly though and the grassyness is what's left behind. It's still pleasant but it's more herbally and green now that watery and green. This is the grass that's very faint for me in "Fairy Market" It doesn't morph much after that, I like it..it's something a bit different and like most people have said, would be nice for a hot day.

Ah hah!! That's much better. Thank you Twilighteyes!

I had such strange preconcenptions of what this would be like...Milk?...and the reviews all saying sour milk??? I just had to try it. Plus I love fruity scents so this was something I wasn't gonna let slip by. I've had my imp for ages but am only reviewing it now hehe. Wet..yes..there is a very bizzare sour milk/cream note to this. It almost smells like a very faint coconut milk or coconut cream, paired together with sharp grape and some other fruit. I can get the fizz of the pomegranate from this in the wet stage. It's..comforting..but takes a bit of getting used to. I do definately like it, it's unusual. And unusual is fine by me! Once the burst of fruit has faded, this comes together so nicely...the milk/cream not gets softer & sweeter. And now I'm even more convinced this is coconut milk I'm dealing with. But it's very soft and gentle coconut. The fruit side blends more with the creaminess...the tang of the grape and pomegranate have gone and I think what I'm gettng now is more the date and fig..it's still fruit but it's not tart like the wet stage. This is really cool, and something a bit different!

Ignore this one..I posted a picture and it was too big. Now I've lost the original. OOOOOPS!!

*pouts in Jealousy* Sorry! On the plus side, I can report back and let you know what it's like!*smiles with glee* Yay...welcome to the forum!

I love the tarted imps, I think they're so cute. I wish they would revert back to that way of doing things. I can probably imagine though that they are a bit fo a nightmare to keep tidy...and you lose labels...and it's a whole lotta ouchness for the brain but...they look cool!! And as for that bottle of Satyr? Wowzers...it's so beautiful and dinky!

This goes from foody to floral in a fun fifteen mintues!!! I like this, and didn't expect it to smell how it does. When it's wet it's a spicy treacle, it's almost like toffee apples to me. This is..kind of a burnt treacle like the burnt vibe I get from Sugar Skull. Only not so dominant and overpowering....the carnations come out on drydown and it's soooo nice. I'm not really a foodie a but a few blends recently have been making me go like this The carnations make it very spicy..YUM! This is sugary brown goodness with the spice of Carnation, I'm so thankful there is no booze note coming through (And I always say that but it's true). This is the carnation that's in Lush's Potion cream. It's really really nice! The Treacle side of things calms down after about 10 minutes and this is where it starts to go more towards the floral. The posies must be making their appearance..and the amber sweetens things up more and takes the spicy edge of when it's really dry. I think that..this scent represents Queen Alice in such a good way because..it starts out fun with the treacle The young, fun side of Alice...then it turns more regal and powerfully floral, but still keeps a sweet edge to it the whole time like she's trying to be the Queen in her own little fantasy. I like it!

Wow it seems like this oils is a complete chameleon, the reviews are so different!! For me? Anything with incense I'm gonna try regardless..(I'm not too fond of honey) This when fisrt applied is a very boozy/wine flavoured honey..and it's very strong. There is a herbal background to it and I'm not sure if I'm used to this kind of smell. It's the same sort of boozy honey that's in Athens...I grew to like that in the end. This scent truly becomes more beautiful as it dries on me, the incense wafts everynow and then with the honey, the booze backs off which I'm thankful for, and the bay/green element to this has also gone. So..it dries to a very sweet honeyed Incense. It's a nice honey, a very soft powdery honey. My body chemistry amps sweet things like crazy so.. this becomes a strange combination that seems to work. I won't be getting a bottle of this but glad I got to try it.

Hmmm...I can sometimes tolerate floral blends, but unfortunataly this is one that I just can't. It's very very soapy and powdery . It has got quite alot of throw but it's just making me feel a bit weird. This is probably the most florally floral (If you know what I mean) I have tried of the BPAL blends. I actually really like carnation but cannot smell it in this blend, it's all Rose...and a mish mash of generic flowers to me. Not much fun...

This is citrus/lavender when wet. I'm gonna say it's Verbena that Im smelling but for the first time it's a nice Verbena. It usually smells like rotted fruit & mud on me. I think the herbs are making it much nicer. So...Verbena/Lavender with some herbs to start. The description says Piquant and it's right. This is a very pungent/sharmp citrussy smell at first. The drydown reminds of the dry stage of Knucklebones...it's almost like that Masculine Fourgere kind of feel. Must be the herbs and lavender without the citrus getting in the way. It's still there but it's now blended in with the rest and not so sneeze inducing. I don't understand why I cannot smell the Jasmine at all....that's a bit weird! It's unusual to me, and I think it's verging on being a medicinal/detergent smelling slightly when it's dry. But...I still like it somewhat and thank the lab for this as a Frimp. I never would have picked this out myself.

The wet stage of this is...well...no that nice to me, I'm not really a fan of heavy fir/pine, and this is what I'm getting, along with alot of patchouli. The drydown is where this turns gorgeous, really really gorgeous! It goes sofffffffffffter. The pine goes away and patchouli is beautiful. Now it's where the other notes come forward, but the whole thing is alot softer and sweeter than I had expected. I can detect the apples ever so slighty, no pumpkin...which is ok...I think there are enough pumpkin scents to give me my fix. There's a bit of nutmeg and spice..and there's a sweet powderyness to it. (That's the patchouli on me). This is something that I think will waft around you in quite a big way...two of my flatmates when I came downstairs said...what are you wearing? And one said...that is gorgeous!!!! I really really like this...I got really scared of the wet stage and stupidly swapped it!! Ooops. It's ok I'll get another one hehe!

Oh my this is a good day! I have finally found an aquatic that I like. Previously they have all smelled like toilet cleaner or air freshener! Hello Selkie...I adore you. This is gorgeous, it starts out as most people have said with a definate Cucumber/Melon wateryness. Pair that with a strong aquatic tone that is NOT air freshener and you have a freshness that's making me want to inhale very deeply and run around on the beach. This is very very powerful on me and has alot of throw. It smells very similar to Vaseline's Aloe Fresh deodrant which I adore..so..this means yay...scent layering here I come haha. I had so much fun reading the poem in the accent too and giggled quite a bit like a schoolgirl The watery Melon-ness calms down a bit as it dries and it becomes much more sharp and floral. Now it's an aquatic floral, it's still gorgeous but too much could be headache inducing. I can feel this in the air around me and I'm very aware of it all the time. I don't think it's too appropriate for an office...oops! I'm looking at the description and..tea-leaved willow is something that I have no idea what it smells like. It's a pretty plant though hehe! I love this blend, it does get a hell of alot more floral as it dries. but it's fresh aquatic flowers..tinged with water...flaoting on the sea. I'm going to be careful with the amount I put on because this lasts a long time and has some punch to it!

This is Gardenia & Jasmine. It reminds me a hell of alot of Euphrosyne. For some reason when I wear this (As well as when I wore Euphrosyne). I feel something...it's weird..it makes me feel content. And confident. It's strange because I am a boy, but I'll try ANYTHING when it comes to perfume. And..this one is doin someting to my emotions. It's only the second time it's happened!! Anyway..it's quite strong and has alot of throw, I'm mainly getting Jasmine and Gardenia as mentioned above. However when this dries it truns into such a beautiful blend I'm lost for words. It goes very feathery soft and sweet, almost like vanilla which is why I referenced Euphrosyne. That was heavy on the vanilla. This is a slighty less sweet version of that. And it's absolutely gorgeous!!! I'm actually attracted to myself right now! I really really want a bottle of this, I think this is extra special because of the amount of lasting power and throw it has. Hopefully you girlies will have men following you around like puppy dogs when you wear this..I hope I do!! LMAO!

Oh my this is such a dissapointment to me! I had REALLY high hopes... *pouts*. While I was hoping that this blend would encapture the scent of xmas/winter time... I get... Verbena. Slightly sweet almost vanillary verbena at first. There's hardly any throw at all. I'm not sure if this is because my imp is old and it's aged a bit funny. I know certain things don't age well at all. But after it dries slightly the verbena does what it usually does on my skin, smells like it's been soaked in pond water. I get this dirty lemon kind of smell... I'm praying for a miracle... When it's dry..the pond yukness subsides a bit and the Myrrh makes an appearance...so. What I'm getting now is a soft verbena with Myrhh. No berries..No greenery...no anything else. The Myrrh fades further and the blend becomes much sweeter, a tiny bit of verbena is still there but it's now a very faint very sweet Myrrh. It's actually the nicest stage of the whole drydown. It stays like this until the end...today I am mainly gonna be angry at my skin chemistry!

Whoa....lots of dark juicy plum & spicy berries. I'm a sucker for berry scents and I think this rocks. I wanna describe it as vampire berries. This definately makes a statement. I can smell the gardenia in here which usually takes over everything but here it's behaving.. This to me (and this is a good thing) reminds me of a yankee candle. A hollyberry kind of smell. There's a hell of alot of spice here too. I think it's gorgeous and dark and deep. And right now I'm wanting a bottle for sure. It also reminds me a little bit of Body Shop's Dewberry perfume. It's in the same vein. Close up it's very heady, and has alot of throw. It sweetens up much much more after a while and loses some of the deep/dark quality but keeps the spice slightly. I LIKE this alot!

DLXXV (575) I have held off reviewing this one because it's just so bizzare & so beautiful! But I think I should try to explain... It morphs a hell of a lot and smells extremely complex to me. After much sniffing in all stages of drydown I gave come to this conclusion... Wet Stage - Someone took Enraged Bunny Musk and dipped him in Coffee/DarkChocolate/Cherry cake. Coffee is predominant in the cakey side of things. But it has that light..slightly lemony fiziness that EBM has! Drying slightly more..this is where it starts to throw me... This is where I want to run into the arms of a very experienced nose and say...WHAT IS THAT??? It's creamy..but not "Cream" it's making me want to use the word.."pearlescent" cream. Weird I know. This pearlescent weirdness get's much stronger as it dries further and the coffee note is holding on too. It stays like this for a while. Then when it's dry the coffee fades out a bit and I just really really can't describe what is left. It's not floral, it's ozone/aquatic it's not green or foody not anything. It IS sweet though..

This is very pretty. It's a a very bright greeen/floral. I can defiantely detect the tea in it and the Thyme. But no mint and no berries to speak of yet. I'll give it a few more minutes... The more I smell this, the more this smells like a very expensive counter store perfume. For sure...*sniff sniff*. This smells quite expensive and reminds me of say..a Chanel perfume..or..Estee Lauder. That was quite an unexpected turn!!
-
Somehow I have this and I don't know why.. but here goes anyway I have no idea how to use this oil for the whole TAL purpose so my review will just be about the smell. To me, this is extremely herby/green..it smells slightly dusty and really reminds me of tree sap. The smell I used to have on my fingers after climbing trees as a child. That kind of..earthy sap. That's the best way I can describe it. This is all I can get at the wet stage. As it dries it does have a slightly more perfumey note to it but I'm guessing that what's in here is alot of leaves, herbs.... It could possibly be palm & possibly tobacco. There's a certain amount of spice too but..mainly just the green sap!! I'm so sorry I couldn't review it better but..I'm not the greatest at picking out notes. I can just give you SOME sort of idea..

This to me is yes...quite simply alot of dragons blood, as it usually is in dragon's blood blends. But it's a fresher, possibly lighter version. This one is not very different from the actual Dragon's Blood oil. It's just a bit cleaner and less floral if that makes any sense! It's Dragon's Blood plus the sea. It will still never be as nice as Dragon's Milk..now that is sex in a bottle And..for my own little self happy, I've nearly tried all of the Ars Draconis oils now.. ETA the little yay smiley..(I'm such a geek)
