2013 version: Mmmm. Sweet agave, rose, and tobacco. It has a warm-cool duality from the tobacco and woods, interesting. Overall the scent is a bit raisiny, though much more complex. Very nice Day of the Dead blend.

A good autumn scent: a nice dark red apple, sour and hard.

A morpher! I haven't gotten a lot of those lately. The smell of juicy tomato mingled with pumpkin is very obvious in the imp. Several others have mentioned a "garden" sense in this blend; it's definitely there, especially when wet on my skin when the rosemary is more obvious. On the drydown, though, it's much more forest than garden-- there's the needle and pitch kicking in. Not my kind of perfume, but I highly recommend this one to people who like green scents beyond grass and flowers.

Hmm. A little on the sharp side (probably the ginger) and apple-y in the bottle, but on me it swings in the other direction and goes sort of flat, more like frankincense and tea. Fine but not for me.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh. This is like the scent equivalent of stepping into a warm bath. Cozy apples and nutmeg, blissful.

OMG, this is so tasty! Pumpkin and cinnamon is one of my favorite combinations and with patchouli behind it, Sin in the Pumpkin Patch makes for a deep, delicious foodie.

2011 version: Definitely get the dead leaves and white musk. As it dries, a powdery vanilla and a coldness both come out-- there's the minty feeling some people have mentioned. I like this. I usually like wearing cool scents in the summer, but this really is more of a sedate fall scent.

Pumpkin spice with a little fruity sweetness. Perfection!

I've never been a fan of Alice, but AitPP is pretty dang good! A nice tasty foody pumpkin that turns salty upon drydown. I think this may be the carnation? But for me, yeah, distinctly salty.

Lemon vanilla cake and cold, clean mint. Yesssss. Perfect for hot days.

Wow, one of the best floral BPALs that I've ever tried. So often they go so shrill and rose stomps all over everything, but Her Voice is just greenery and beeswax and soft floral femininity. Definitely worth a look.

I wouldn’t normally think “masculine lilac,” but yes, it is. Mmm leather and musk and oudh. It’s not bad at all on me, but I want to smell this on a dude! *happy sigh* It’s not a traditional heavy cologne male scent—there’s a distinct sweetness and softness that replaces the fougere when it settles down—but nonetheless it’s clearly masculine and it is nice.

The champaca makes this sort of heady and perfumey, not really my style, though I enjoy the femininity and sweetness of this blend. Have to pass.

Belgian Chocolate, Honey, Cubeb Berries, Black Mission Fig, and Avocado
bellumed replied to VioletChaos's topic in Lupercalia
A very true combination of chocolate, honey, and berries. Unique and delicious, yum! -
Oh, Milk Chocolate, Cassia and Bacon, you little weirdo. You are so intriguing with your chocolate and your pungent saltiness. On me, it's dry and smoky, reminds me of grilling in the summer. Cocoa powder kicks in later, and after a few hours, it’s all chocolate with a slightly smoky quality. MCC&B is a really interesting blend that people shouldn't shy away from trying (well, sensitive skin aside, maybe) because of the odd concept. It was pretty understated and non-offensive once it got to my skin.

To me, Sachs exists perfectly at the intersection between sexy and comforting. Like a cute mom or an attractive, friendly nurse. No-nonsense herbal chamomile softened up by pretty vanilla. My only complaint would be that this one is very light, at least to my nose, and I have trouble finding it a few minutes after applying.

White Chocolate, Strawberry, and White Pepper Truffle
bellumed replied to thekittenkat's topic in Lupercalia
Heavy on the strawberry, this one starts off smelling sort of like strawberry jam. Or even boozy, like a strawberry cocktail. Unfortunately, I have a lot of trouble with strawberry scents, and this one becomes that artificial strawberry I associate with lipgloss on the drydown. Dang. -
Very clean and light, juuuuuust this side of dryer sheets—-but that’s never bothered me. Unisex, almost asexual. All white musk with an undertone of patchouli that keeps it from going sharp and high-pitched as white musk tends to do. I dig it.

Very likable. A touch sweet, but the way milk is sweet, not candy-like. Just a soft, milky floral, not at all sharp like so many florals are. zankoku_zen made a comment about a hotel room, and yes, that. Love and Sleep is like lying back on smooth, clean, cool sheets and closing your eyes.

Woof. This is steeeeee-RONG. Rose and hedoine and bitey cinnamon, and I’m sort of wondering what I was thinking when I added this to my list? I’m not very sensitive but my skin heated and tingled a bit immediately, so be forewarned. Thankfully it’s not as powerful on my skin. Rose comes through a lot in the early stages, but I amp it, so no surprise there. Loads of jasmine on drydown, first soapy, then smooth. Not for me, but I'd say a must-try for jasmine fans.

Floral fans rejoice! From You I Have Been Absent in the Spring is like pressing your face into a bouquet and huffing that airy scent. I don't get much in the way of the other notes here, just a light, pleasant floral (though sharper in the imp).

A promising soft coffee bean scent in the imp, but just a boring vague orchid on me. Booooo

Mmmm, I really dig Lust Bonbon. It may be my favorite of the Lupers so far. It totally smells like one of those fancy little truffles from Godiva or whatever, all cocoa powder and deliciousness. It's foody and sexy without being an intensely dark "seductive" type scent. I'd love a bottle!

Something about this, in the imp, is just sort of stinky and sour. In an almost B.O. way. Thankfully, it sweetens up immediately on my skin and becomes much more pleasant. A really nice earthy tea scent, with peru balsam as the dominant note.

2014: Yup, exactly, Snake Oil + O = Womb Furie. Lasts forever, too, I wore it to bed and didn't bother to put on perfume the next morning because I was still honey-scented. I think I will age this, since its Snake Oiliness will only improve with time.
