Having read the reviews, I got a decant of this and hoped and prayed it would be that stunning, warm, second-skin scent I've been looking for and only found once. And in the imp it smelled promising. On me wet, it did give that warm and furry feeling and I started to get excited and hopeful. But then it dried. It dried down to a powdery violet on me. Violet is a death note for me. I feel kind of squirmy and icky because- death on me. I tried to wash it off with no success. So, you know, kudos for amazing staying power- it's now 13 hours since I applied that one drop of oil. And I've washed my hands easily 20 times, and my entire body twice- and it's still there. if only the soft furry magic had appeared for me! (Seriously? violet? where did that come from?)

Wet, this presents as a bright green, effervescent herbal. As it dries down, a musty rose appears. After about 15 minutes this becomes a pure, rich, ancient rose on me. The first oil I ever wore was a single note pressed rose oil purchased for me in Afghanistan- this is amazingly reminiscent of it. To the point that I tested them against each other. Almost exactly the same, just #20 has a tiny hint of leaf if I try hard enough to smell it. It takes some work, though. Since I first started exploring BPAL looking for something better on me than that rose oil, this one will want to go to someone who will appreciate it more.

A deep, dusty scent of light rose. It has a faint grounding element of something damp and musty-dark. I'm assuming that would be stone and moss. I amp rose, so this scent is almost entirely old, dried out rose on me. A very mysterious scent.

Also not keen on pumpkin anything, but I tried it in spite of pumpkin being a death note. On me, it is a shimmery sugary Orange. But after it dried down a quiet creamy pumpkin showed up and ruined it for me. Probably the best of the pumpkin blends I've tried but still not something I can wear.

The first time I tried Perversion, it was heavy on the rum, leather, and tobacco. Just a slight hint of vanilla and chardonnay kept it from being overwhelming and masculine. I fell in love with it, but it was the last of the imp I had received. Last night I tried it again out of a newly received imp, and I wore it to a fetish party. This time, it was all coconut and vanilla- distinctly present but not strongly foody. It was a thick, heavy sort of coconut, though. I think this time the leather and tobacco were grounding it to get that effect. I didn't care so much for it this time, because I'm just not a fan of prominent coconut- and my partners commented that it just didn't really reflect who I am. I felt that the throw was moderate, and it had an average length of wearing time. However, one of the prominent sadists in the area was visiting, and he walked in the door and started sniffing, then followed his nose through two rooms, ending up with his face plastered to my throat for several minutes and a few nips and licks. His regular partner requested a try of Perversion for herself after that reaction. So I guess it was a perfectly appropriate scent for the scene!

Cinnamon. Not just cinnamon, but shining, luminescent cinnamon. I agree with the above person who said it smells like a cinnamon-spice candle that hasn't yet been lit, I thought I smelled a hint of paraffin or wax without the honey/beeswax note that is in so many of the waxy notes. This is just glorious. I love it.

Wet, this goes on with an intense, almost scorchingly harsh ginger and woodiness. as it dries, a dry- bark cinnamon comes to the forefront, mingled with the ginger. This is incredibly powerful, with a throw to the moon. The longer it's on, the ginger fades to the back and it becomes a dry, woody, cinnamon type scent with an overlay of creamy vanilla. Normally, the dry woody scents merge with my skin into something that can't be distinguished from my natural smell other than a warm glow added to it. This one remains stronger, and the throw is powerful. But as it wears down, the notes that were discrete blend together into a rich, creamy warmth. I like it- a lot.

A reformulation and modernization of a true Classical Greek perfume, myrrhine: voluptuous myrrh, golden honey, red wine, and sweet flowers. For me, this went on wet as a strong, heated honey. I tried to pick up on any of the other notes, but didn't get any. So, honey. and more honey. Hot and sticky and sugar-sweet.
