I hate to bump this since its a tad old, but does anyone have recommendations for a nearly pure vanilla scent through BPAL, without having to get your hands on the ever elusive single note? I've tried reading through these 19 pages, and have found recommendations for nearly every type of vanilla but just the pure scent without anything extra. I'd give extra super and bonus points if the recs were GC, as opposed to LEs! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

I really liked Machu Picchu (another tropical scent sans coconut) - It smelled fruity and floral at the same time. It sort of reminded me of the gum juicy fruit.

Scents similar to/complimentary to Cocoa Butter lotion

Hey BPAL'ers! Ok, I've tried several varying searches throughout the boards, and still haven't come up with anything of great use. I know there is a lengthy discussion about "cocoa" scents, but I'm looking specifically for a BPAL that either smells like cocoa butter, or compliments it very well. I love cocoa butter lotion - It's really so wonderful on my skin - but it definitely has a distinct smell, and doesn't always play nicely with my favorite BPAL scents, such as Bayou (Bayou + Cocoa Butter...now that's an odd combination, lol). I'd love to find a BPAL I can wear in compliment to my beloved lotion. I've tried about 2 dozen BPALs, of all varieties. I had a list of my reports on each, but accidentally deleted it. Now I'm working from memory. I've tried Dana O'Shee - which I truly thought I would love - and I did like it, but it seemed very weak on me. As if my skin just ate all of the scent up. I'd like a little more spice in my BPAL! I used to LOVE LOVE LOVE the Gap's OM (does anyone remember that fragrance? Gosh is was amazing). Help!! And thanks for your suggestions in advance -
This has grown to be one of my favorite BPAL scents, and I find I wear it often - as it's not quite as overpowering as my other favorite, New Orleans. I agree with the reviewers who picked up on a powdery scent in this. I got Bell Vinu as a frimp, so I have no idea how aged it it. That could be why I do not detect any peach whatsoever? I love peach though, so wouldn't mind that either. Every note in this blend is an absolute win for me. I love the softness of the rosewood and vanilla - which are the two most prominent scents in the blend on me. On, this smells like a warm, rich powder. Not talc like at all, but a powder you'd love to wear. I think it is a classic scent, that would be pleasing to many. I cannot picture men loving this scent though - I'd love to get some feedback from men. It is very feminine.

I've been meaning to write a review of New Orleans for a while now, as it's absolutely my favorite BPAL scent - ok, my favorite scent *among all perfumes* of all time! I read through many of the reviews in this thread, and I had to include this one, as it's very on point with my feelings about New Orleans as well. Super heady and humid. It is certainly strong, but I like that about it because a little goes a long way I also am not fond of super florals (like Amsterdam) so this is just the perfect mix of spicy, floral, sweet, and wet. A city that smells this luscious is a city I'd love to live in forever

I have worn this a handful of times now - and 75% of the time I get all 4 notes equally and in perfect balance. When it works on me, I love the mixture of green mango (fruity), fig (rich), patchouli (earthy spice) and green tea (herbal)! The other 25% of the time, today for example, it smells exactly like B.O. Imagine slathering body odor all over your neck and wrist Sadly, I noticed it on my way into work, so there was no turning back. My boss came into my office for a meeting and her response was "oh, that was you who had that peculiar smell the other day." Ugh! Embarrassing! I am going to keep on trying with Tweedledum, but if he does this to me one more time...it might just be off with his head!

My skin must have a similar chemistry to yours because I get the same thing. Floral and sweet...I'm getting zero dirt or red wine from this. Which is a shame really because I certainly do love red wine and dirt! I wouldn't mind experience the two smells combined. Sadly though, NOSFERATU on my skin does not allow me to experience that scent combo. Instead, it is giving me bubbles...you know, the kind kids play with in the plastic bottle? Yep, that and a light floral

Got this for free w/my 1st order. Definitely a male scent - spicy, with just a touch of vanilla to make it sweeter. I would like this on a man very much

I'm really surprised that no one else seems to be getting an overpowering cinnamon scent but me. Maybe my skin really amps cinnamon? I've tried wearing Harlot twice and each time, all I can smell is very strong cinnamon. Even after wearing it a while that's still all I smell. I never get any rose Too bad!

Yay! This is my 1st post & review! So happy I discovered Black Pheonix I got Bayou in my 1st set of imps. I thought I would start with the imps, since I've never experimented with oils before and didn't know what my skin would do to different scents. I'm really happy I ordered Bayou, and one thing I can say about it is that it's a great testament to how layered and complex the scents from BP are and what an amazing product they turn out. In Bottle - It smells to me of 100% pine or some type of cleaning fluid Wet on skin - Still pine, lots and lots of it. A very male scent I think. Not for me. Dry - The pine definitely goes away after 30 min or so and the watery lushness takes over...and then WOW! Just when I had given up on this, it totally did a 180. Now it smells like dew (or how I would imagine dew to smell) and watery floral. It's incredible and I can't stop smelling it! Definitely a wonderful and unique scent for summer.
