Purchased a decant from OrangeBlossom05! I have been dying to try this scent since December and I am so excited I can test it! I literally just got it in the mail, haha. In the imp: It's very chilly! I haven't experienced the snow note before but I believe that's what I'm picking out. It smells lovely. There's also a hint of pine and I think I can detect the tea rose, though it's very faint. I think there's cinnamon, too. Wet: Linens! Clean, fresh linen, how I adore you! There's a quality to the linen that makes it creamy- perhaps the florals? The linen notes I got in Windward Passage reminded me of a bathroom by the sea but this linen definitely has a creamy, wintery quality and doesn't bring up the image of a bathroom. More like linens piled up next to an open window in a living room in December. Dry-down: Oh yum, the snow note is coming back. It's so fresh and chilly, I can't stop huffing my wrist. Dry: It gets a bit musky. Must be that skin note. It's quite beautiful and it deepens the scent nicely, and definitely brings to mind a snowy evening. The rose is also noticable now, but it's nice and light. Linen is still the key player. Further on: It sweetens and the snow and rose and musk are making themselves more prominant. I think I caught a whiff of dust, too. Linen is still queen, though! It's absolutely gorgeous right now. I am so pleased with this! If scents were people, I would marry this one, not even kidding. I'm so happy right now, this scent is everything I hoped for. I need a bottle of this!

Imp from cyndaelle! Imp: Somewhat salty and soapy (but in a good way!) aquatic with a tang of something I can't place. Image that came to mind was a bathroom with dark blue tile with an open window overlooking the sea and bright blue sky. Wet: Linens! Fluffy, freshly laundered light blue and white linens brought into the bathroom. I love the smell of linen so I'm in heaven. Drydown: The scent deepens, but it's hard to really describe. Image is that same bathroom only the sun is setting. I can't accurately tell you how the scent itself changes but while it's still definitely clean soap and linen it's... I don't know. It's more sophisticated? Goodness, this is more tricky than it ought to be. Dry: Still that deeper sort of linen scent intermixed with a somewhat salty aquatic and a suggestion of that tang from the imp. Not much throw. Image now is the sun just below the horizon, when the sky hasn't gone full dark yet. Overall: Very clean and very nice. I was expecting it to be more like the ocean and sea air but smelling predominately like clean soap and linen is fine with me! Just wish it lasted longer.

Received an imp of this from cyndaelle! Imp: Cool and minty with a hint of smoke and wood. Wet: Spearmint with a light floral and even lighter wood. It's like a cold, dusty parlor room with the window cracked open letting in a chilly draft that stirs the dried flower petals scattered on a lace-draped table. Dry-down: The scent becomes very warm! The spearmint takes a back seat to the florals and rose is the most prominent at this stage. It's as if a parlormaid came in with fresh flowers and shut the window and lit a fire. If I concentrate hard enough I can smell the smoke and wood from the fire and the dust that's coating the mantelpiece. Dry: The scent cools quite a bit- perhaps the window didn't latch properly and the draft has put out the fire. The florals become more rounded. Now I can smell the lilac along with the rose and something sweet and otherworldly- the osthmanthus? There are also faint wisps of smoke and the idea of wood and dust. It's somewhat powdery but very pretty. The longer I wear it the softer and sweeter it becomes and it clings closer and closer to me until there's a merely a faint suggestion of sweetness on my skin. Oh, if only it lasted longer!

Received this imp from the lovely cyndaelle! Djinn is a blend that I've been curious about. I've never tried a smoke or fire blend before so I figured this would be a good first. In the imp, it was sweet smoke with an acrid tang, something sharp and lemony. Perhaps there was also a hint of ginger? And there was a quality reminiscent of citronella or Vicks VapoRub, which was not entirely unpleasant. There was also the suggestion of dead leaves. It was very complex and interesting. Wet it was at first very much like cool autumn air and leaves. Then the Vicks got amped but it morphed into something strongly sweet with a pleasant lemon tang. I couldn't stop huffing my wrist. Dry-down it was sweet and light and creamy, almost mouthwatering. There was some sort of hint of herb or spice but it was so smoothly blended that I couldn't pick anything out. Mint? Sage? Cinnamon? Not sure, but it was delightful. As it lingered on my skin it morphed quite a bit. It was like a kaleidoscope of pleasant scents and I was very surprised. I tested this at work today and I was taking notes throughout the day of how the scent morphed. My notes were: -Sweet incense wrapped in green. -A pine-needle-fed fire pit long after the flames have died down. -Sweet, creamy smoke wafting through a cedar forest. -Sweet grass dusted with vanilla sugar. -Pepper and eucalyptus and cinnamon. -Vanilla and sweet incense. I've never had a blend morph so much before. I didn't mind it one bit. Overall, through every stage, I found this blend to be very comforting and wistful. I never knew my skin chemistry amped sweet so much either but I have such a sweet tooth that it isn't too surprising that I have sweet skin, haha. As much as I adore this, I don't think I'll get a bottle. It's much too distracting- I barely got any work done today because I couldn't stop sniffing myself! I think I may horde a few imps, though, for those days when I have the leisure to go on a scent adventure.

Got an imp of the 2007 version from cyndaelle. (: All Souls has a warm, round sort of nutty sweetness in the imp. Wet on my skin the sweetness is predominant but there’s an unfortunate plasticy edge to it. I’m not sure if that’s from the incense or the currant note. Luckily, as it dries the plastic slowly fades and the sweetness becomes something like cake batter. Full dry it smells like cookies. It’s very light, however, so it isn't readily identifiable as such unless I put my nose close to my hand. From a distance it simply smells sweet. It’s a very pretty scent at this stage. I hope the plastic isn't a common occurrence because I really do like this blend overall.

Got an imp of this from cyndaelle! This is a blend I’ve always wanted to try since I love evocative blends. In the imp it’s spiced rum and wood and salt. Wet on my skin though the spice is amped to high heaven and it’s evocative, all right, but not of the Caribbean in the 17th century. Like others have noted, it smells like Christmas! It smells exactly like the place where we buy our Christmas tree every year. We pick out our tree and go to the little indoor shop to pay for it and there’s this lovely cinnamon-spice scent all around, mostly caused by the hot, homemade apple cider which they let their customers sample and the cinnamon incense sticks they have all around the counter. As it dries the spice is still front and center but light touches of wood and floral mellow it. There is also just a hint of salt air. It’s like passing by a port-side Christmas shop with its doors wide open in the evening. This wasn’t what I was expecting at all but I absolutely love it and definitely need a bottle of it in the future.
