    Crossroads

Lightly herbal in the vial, I thought for certain this would be gone on me in an hour as it's so light on application. It's been six hours and still in there so I guess not _quite_ that faint of heart Light herbal with a touch of floral, the green mosses really come through on this and it's lovely if a bit melancholy and mysterious. There is a darkness to this, a momentary pause in the journey where the next step is unknown. lovely, mysterious and complexly herbal but not overpoweringly so.

    Dragon's Blood

I was very curious as to how this would work for me given that Dragon's blood blends never seem to do the proper earthy spiciness bit on me. This is a slightly fruity floral on my skin, almost lilly-like in the floral sense, rather light, and with a slightly juicy undertone. It's nice to finally smell the scent that is so chameleon like on me all the time. Lovely, potent, not firey and earthy on my but still nice.

    Cold Moon

I thought this would be softer and cooler on me but it goes very berry-ish. I am getting a similar vibe from this that I did off Skadi - which is to say something vaguely fruity and citrusy and not much else. There's a faint hint of aqutic in there but nothing that's really altering this much for me, even in dry down. Pretty, but alas cold moon isn't doing much for me. off to someone who will love it.

    Mars

Mmm cinnamon and clove. I've come to adore that combination and I hope this shows up again in a non-discontinued sort of way. A gorgeous, spicey, strong blend that has tons of presence. It's not foody - which I find wierd, just spicey. Yummy and definitly a bit volatile. The cloves add that distinct clove scent under a slight sweetness of cinnamon and the two combined almost have a metallic edge. War like? Definitly. Too bad this one's gone

    Dirty

In the vial: Crisp linen, sun-dried and breeze cooled sheets hanging on a line. There was a faint whiff of lemon at first...which terrified me as lemon and I do NOT get along.. but this stayed light, breezy, fresh clean. A dead ringer for the real thing, soft breezy and soothing. This was light but long lasting. I'm not entirely sure HOW Beth did this. I just know she did. Utterly...amazing.

    Saint-Germain

Lavender and carnation at first, refined, spicey and once again I sit there wondering how lavender can ever be masculine. The amber just totally refines this, a gorgeous high class but reserved scent. This is what I think I wanted King of Diamonds to turn into but it never quite did for me. It fades quickly on me, but I'm keeping the imp for one of "my boys" to try as it's just simply stunning.

    Magdalene

Incense smokey at first and strangely smokey floral in the vial. On me the smokiness lasted a little before a gorgeous rose scent came out. This was light, wistful, sad and stunning. Very evocative of its name, I wish this had lasted just a bit more on me as it was very light and faded quickly but still lovely just the same.

    High John the Conqueror

green, soapy, clean and a little herbal. This is another of the voodoo blends that went a little wierd on me and I smelled like upper class baby powder after a bit. It reminded me of the little bars of soap in hotel rooms sadly. I wonder if I used these properly if they'd work better, but chemistry wise most of the voo doo blends just dislike me.

    Van Van

Erg...gods I hate my chemistry. Light and herbal in the vial I was hopeful of this one. However it turns into instant baby powder on my skin, not subtle, not pretty, just chokingly cloyingly powedery sweet. There was a wierd peach-vanilla undertone to the powder which I wish had been the actual scent but something in this one didn't like me. Sad sad sad

    Fenris Wolf

Woodsy and almost smokey and a little musky. This is wild and feral, darkly so, like a wolf slinking through dark forest. Defintly masculine despite the slight sweetness of sandalwood and the fullness that the ambers give to this. This was decidedly not me, but might be more in line with what one of my friends was looking for so I'll pass it onto him.

    The Caterpillar

I was really amazed this wasn't stronger as I thought it was going to knock me over the head in the bottle. Deep, earthy green scents and a hint of mysterious shadowy places. The vertiver and patchouli add a sort of herbal twist to this but overall it's quite wispy on me. Interesting and intriguing but not for me.

    Love Me

Gorgeous thick, rich, spicey and syrupy. This was like spiced, juicy oranges and cinnamon, sweet and spicey all at once. A very decadant come hither scent. I usually have a hard time with the voodoo blends but found this one to be wonderful and quite...uhm...effective. It dries down into a slightly lighter jasmine-ish sort of scent. Definite keeper.
  13. Blood rose actually. Exact same "we are not leaving this room" reaction. Jake loves Dragon's blood though in any form so adding the kick of rose and wine was apparantly enough to send him head over heels. I have been told I am not to wear that scent when we can't...uh..escape.

    Tombstone

A sharp fresh whiff of cedar and some sassafras at first, this is dry and evocative of saloons and tumbleweeds. A rugged, masculine smell that slowly sweetens with a touch of vanilla. Definitly old bar rooms and six shooters. This was lovely but I found it a touch too masculine for me so off to swaps.

    Baobhan Sith

Another chemistry strikes again issue, I got a lot of grapefruit on this, followed by a sharp almost astringent smell. What was delicate and fresh in the bottle was more like a cleaning solution on my skin. Silly chemistry Off to swaps and sadly as I so very much wanted to love this

    Amsterdam

I got very little floral in this, mostly just a deep green-blue aquatic note. This was cooling and soothing, like a slow moving river of icey water. I was sort of hoping for something a little more, but nothing else ever really rose out of the blend with my chemistry. While lovely, it didn't make me sniff my wrist a lot and in fact faded quickly on me. Off to swaps.

    Lear

Dry, warm cedar and a touch of herbal sage. As others have noted I got a lot of cedar in this one. This was masculine but earthy, resonant of power but somehow not quite regal and the perfect scent for an aging Lear. I found this very soothing and comforting, woodsy and warm, maybe even a bit dusty. Not for me, but gorgeous none the less.

    Fire of Love

Got that faint herbal oddness that all the voodoo blends have in the vial to me and.. sadly... not much else of interest after that. I don't use the blends in ritual, which may be part of my problem, but all I got off htis was lots and lots and lots of baby powder. So sweet that it made my stomach turn. Gahhh... I hate it when my chemistry does this. Swaps off to swaps!

    Vice

So sweet even my father noticed it. I didn't get a lot of cocoa in this, my skin seems to morph it into something almost like sandalwood, but coated in sugar. Not a lot of cherry either. The overall result is I smell rather like an over-cooked piece of candy. It's not a bad smell, but very sweet and playful... and not really me. For some reason chocolate smelling scents and I just don't get along. Off to swap.

    Sea of Glass

I'm not certain I can say it better than it's already been said. Clean, white, crystaline, and aquatic. This was very light, a crisp ozone note and an underlay of very light florals. Soothing, cooling, breezy, it reminds me of a girl in a white linen dress standing on the shore of the ocean. Lovely and would make a wonderful summer scent because of that lightness, it unfortunately doesn't last long on me so I'll be sending it off to find a better home.

    Carnal

Fruity and a lot sweeter than I anticipated, I got a lot of fig out of this. Fig, fig, more fig, and a little more fig. No mandarin, not much else, just sweet juicy yummy fig. Simple but not quite what I had imagined and since my chemistry just eats this up and it's gone in ten minutes, off to swaps for someone who can properly adore it.

    Chimera

Sweetly spiced in the bottle, lots of cinnamon, but not spicey cinnamon. Rather this was sweet, almost gingerbread and molasses at first with a touch of spice. It dries down into a warm buttery, sweet scent and lastly the honeysuckle peeps through. Lovely, warm, foody, and one of the cinnamon oils I DIDN'T have a reaction too thankfully.

    Blood Countess

Plums and berries, with a light touch of floral. This was more flowery in the bottle than I thought but positively ripened when applied. Thick, juicy, sweet but there's still that touch of gardenia and lilac keeping it feminine. This is a dangerous scent, sweet and gorgeous at first but something just a touch darker underneath that. A "what's hiding behind that lovely face" sort of impression. Definite keeper.

    Delphi

Earthy deep and green at first, this was a pleasantly dark and soothing earthy scent until something else wafted up and that burnt greenery smell came in followed by something a touch acidic. It's not the blend, but rather my chemistry which makes all the wrong things pop out in this and ugh. I ended up having to wash it off as rancid pine needles just aren't my thing. Hopefully someone else will be able to wear this one.

    Bathsheba

Spicey carnation and juicy plum, this is fresh, sensual, clean... and I guess just does nothing for me. I really really want to love this, but the carnation fades out and leaves faint plum and not much else and overall my chemistry turns this into something just sort of bleh rather than something stunning. It's alittle too innocent and not enough sophisticated for what I expected and I think that alone is just making me sad. Off to swaps since someone should adore this.
