Favorite Scents
Burial is my utmost favorite scent and my very first bpal bottle. Granted I only wear it during the fall and winter. During the summer Bewitched, Lemon Sticky Bat, and Mouse Circus are my go to scents in the summer. I tend to match what I am wearing to my mood/time of year/weather/holiday so slowly I'm busy collecting various scents that fit whatever mood I'm in. :)

Would you like to receive Girl Scout cookies and if so, what kind is your favorite? I would love GS cookies! Thin Mint for life 💜 Tagalongs and Do-si-dos are also favorites. I’m a GS alumni myself 😊 Would you like a Gnome amigurumi? (smol knitted or crocheted gnome) Sure! -- if so, What gnome colors appeal to you? (three-four colors please) Surprise me. I like gnomes of all colors 😊 -- do any of these patterns appeal to you (I pretty much have all of them including the ones for humans but I'm not going to make a colorwork sweater for you, sorry. I *might* make a hat or mitts if you like grey, blue, and red as shown because I already have that yarn.) I have those patterns to but no time to make them. I love them all so pick for me How about Gnome tea towel(s)? I love and use tea towels Would you like a cross stitched gnome picture / ornament? I would love one that can hang on the wall What's your favorite way to experience Nature? A hike in the woods, a day lounging on the beach, only as screen savers on your computer? I love going camping, swimming in lakes/ocean (the ocean is my fav but too cold up here in the PNW), hiking what kinds of safety and environmental concerns need to be considered for your gnome so they can safely reside at your home? will they live outdoors so they need to be weatherproof (for what kind of weather)? will they be indoors and need to be pet or child-safe? do they need to be very tiny or capable of hanging on a wall? I live in Seattle area so it rains quite a lot so any gnomes meant for outdoors need to be weatherproof. I would love feathers from Gary if BPAL is one of your treasures, which BPAL would you like the mostest? (Maybe one that is available right now from BPAL and one Limited Edition/Discontinued?) Also from General Catalog: Eat Me, Drink Me, The Queen of Hearts From Limited Ed: New Year's Kitty Tea Party, Merry Owls of Velocipedes and Tricycles, Pink and Blue Candy Canes If you are a tea drinker, which (if any) of these teas tickle your fancy? These beans have been steeping for 2 years in a very nice bourbon. I would love some homemade vanilla. It sounds divine. Are there any colors you would prefer your gnome not to have? Naw surprise me If the creativity bites, would you possibly like a small embroidered gnome? Could be an ornament? Any gender preference or details you might like added (small mushroom, bee, heart or egg...)? I would love an embroidered gnome and an ornament or something that could hang on the wall would be perfect. Small details like a mushroom, bee, or an egg would be adorable Do you have a need for cheese knife? https://ototodesign.com/products/bert-cheese-knife? No...we have a ton of cheese boards and knives already I'll be in Seattle next week- any treat you might enjoy from the PNW? Spoopy/ Gothy things? Nice coffee beans? A Nirvana t-shirt...? Nothing I can think of ...especially since I live here I'll be back in Disney World next month- anything you might like from Epcot or Hollywood Studios? I'm not a huge Disney fan but I do like Haunted Mansion and Alice in Wonderland things. Would you be interested in a small copper nature totem that could nestle in your garden or amongst your plants? I can do some chasing to create a mushroom or a leaf or a special bug fren... A mushroom would be adorable Would you be interested in a decorative pillow or zippered pouch featuring a gnomely figure? like this? or a little coin purse? or please tell me to make this because oh my gods... I would love a little gnome figure. That gnome with the birdnest is so adorable! I have an angora rabbit and she's currently molting. Would you like rabbit fur for spinning, felting, or other crafty uses? I'm good right now but thank you Do you need any spices? Always How would you feel about gnome-inspired clothing? One of my favorite scents! Bottle sniff: Just dripping in rich cherries and mahogany wood applied: The cherry shows up very prominently at first...this fades a bit as it settles into my skin but still lots of cherry wet: the woody smells come on stronger over time but I still get lots of cherry. Not a huge amount of throw which I like since some scents my husband can't be around. Absolutely love this perfume and it's a good one for everyday use.

****NEW QUESTIONS/ANSWERS ADDED 10/5: **** All Questions as of 10/5 should be answered. If it isn't listed below the answer was "No thank you, No, or doesn't apply" and this makes it easier to read do you have good feelings about Funko Pop? I do get some Funko Pops but not a ton. If you want to get me a Funko then any of the Hellraiser or The Shining ones would be awesome and I don't have any Funkos from those movies so pick whatever you like. Witchee, assuming you like home made/home canned condiment goodies, what is your spice level preference? I like it hot but my family are wimps so I usually go medium - hot so I'm not just making food for me lol . Though no ghost pepper type hot...I just don't care for them. Would anyone be interested in anything from Bucees?! It’s a magical giant beaver gas station/shop! It has spices, fudge, Knick knacks, all things Texas, candy, beef jerky, roasted nuts, and of course beavers! Most things like the fudge and nuts are made in house. I have zero idea what this is but you had me at magical giant beaver gas station. If they have cool merch than a travel mug would be awesome. I also like beef jerky, fudge, nuts, and beavers 9/20/20 How do you guys store your decants so they are not a confused mess? If you've got a system, please share it. Bullet storage cases are my fav. Need more though. 9/21/20 I'm a knitter. I have some knitted washcloths done, and can knit up more. Would you like some? Also, if answered soon enough, I can maybe get a scarf done. Would you like one? What colors would you like? Thin or thick? With or without fringe? Are you allergic to any fibers - wool, cashmere, angora, alpaca? That would be lovely. No fringe, feel free to choose colors, no allergies, and no preference on thickness since I use both kinds. No scarfs please. Do you prefer getting one or two really nice/more expensive things or several smaller/less expensive little things? Or do you have no preferance? No preferance Would you be interested in a gently-used tarot deck (or other oracle)? If so, toss out some styles you gravitate towards, cause I have SO MANY DECKS and I'd love to send one or more along! I've been interested in oracle decks since I've never really used them. I'm also all for tarot decks of any sort Pumpkin/pumpkin spice – yay or nay? Yay in food/drinks but nay in other products (soaps, perfumes, etc.) or vice versa? What are your thoughts? My thoughts are Yes Pumpkin Everything! Candy corn – love it or loathe it? Or just don’t care much one way or another? Love it. Love it as a motif, a candy, and decoration. For eating though I really like the Fall Mix and the bag that has just the pumpkins that come in the fall mix. 9/23/20 I have been remiss--witchee (or anyone needing a minion), I am notorious for homemade caramels, shortbreads both savory and sweet, and catnip/catnip laced toys. I've also started playing with homemade marshmallows and fruit candies. Any interest? Caramels would be lovely WITCHEE, WOULD YOU LIKE ANY OF THESE? Don't just say "yes" -- please be specific about which ones you want the most! Brown Sugar Plum Butter - this Pflaumenmus (also Plum Butter) Cardamom Plum Jam - this Star Anise Plum Jam - this Ginger Peach Butter Vanilla Peach Jam Sweet Green Tomato Relish Dill Green Tomato Relish Huckleberry Jam - this Apple Butter Candied Jalapenos (delicious with cream cheese on burgers or crackers) Lavender Vanilla Bean liqueur Rose Petal liqueur 10/4/20 the other day I found the pattern I made for a small crocheted skull. I have made some before and included some herbs and oils and such, things that both smell good and are said to carry protective virtues, in the stuffing, and hooked them up to hang in a vehicle or such. Would any of y'all like one of those? I'll take all the protection I can get! ****END NEW Q/A FROM 10/5**** Does anything from Paintbox Soapworks catch your eye (http://paintboxsoapworks.com/)? No thank you Does anything from the Trading Post's etsy page catch your eye (https://www.etsy.com/shop/bptradingpost)? Shuttered Asylum Atmosphere Spray Snow Angel Atmosphere Spray Veronica Franco Imp Case What are your favorite self-care items or activities? I'm especially curious about things that you hesitate to do/get because they feel like frivolous luxuries Most of mine involve naps and spending time in my yard/generally being outside as pandemic self-care. My normal self-care are just about all impossible right now due to pandemic and I'm in the process of figuring out what I need to get through the next six months and pandemic winter since my husband and I already deal with seasonal depression. The main things I've been working on is: 1.removing clutter (clutter is a huge depression/anxiety trigger for both of us) 2.finding healthy but easy fall/winter comfort foods because I'm still working on taking off the weight from the first six months of comfort eating. Basically focusing on soups, roasted veg, and things I can prep and freeze for days I just can't deal and would normally order pizza/eat junk 3. finding ways to add more movement/exercise to my life in general. I have health/mobility issues that are making that difficult and most of our parks (normally I like to walk) aren't open due to COVID. So things that would help those goals are: 1. storage containers for my imps. Especially the ones they make to store bullets. Those are great because the imps are easy to organize/find and stack neatly. 2. Eco-friendly/reusable storage items like bees wrap or the silicon storage backs that are meant to replace sandwich bags. I'd really like some of those. I'm trying to create less waste but sandwich and snack sized plastic baggies are sooooo helpful. 3. I'd love these headphones https://dormiphones.com/ they would be great for exercise, meditation, or when I listen to things to help fall asleep. are you familiar with https://www.a-natural-alternative.com/ ? Take a peak & let me know if you might like to try something. No thank you Would you like a face mask from one of my favorite artists? https://akumuink.com/collections/facemasks I love these! I'd love the plague seeker, stitches, cheshire smile, or blood thirst Would you like anything from here? https://www.etsy.com/shop/TaterRoundsBeauty Baba Yaga House or Shark Fin soap what are your feelings on home made/ home canned jams & pickles or syrups? I even make things with berries I grow in my garden. I make both brandied & bourbon cherries. Syrups good for cocktails, in lemonade or tea, flavors include Lavender, Lavender + Lemon, & Lavender + Vanilla. Interested? I will take all the pickles and jams. Also lavender & lemon are fav combos both for food and scents Is there something that you're especially hoping to receive for this round? For example, a brand you've heard of that you're especially wanting to try, or a certain "thing" that you really want but just cant bring yourself to buy for yourself?? I'm really hoping for a crocheted goth unicorn from @twilighteyes warehouse I got one for my Witchee years ago and have wanted my own since. I was going to make one (I crochet too) but honestly I don't want to make it and Twilight Eyes and her Mom make perfect ones already ❤️ Art and artists - anyone dig any of this? https://www.studiodesade.com/ (They also do masks, see here.) No thank you If you knit/crochet/weave, would you like custom dyed yarn? And if so do you have preference on weight, fiber, colors? No yarn please. I'm working on reducing the stash I have what is one fun/frivolous thing for $20 or less that you’d enjoy? Any of the gnome or Halloween pins by http://www.pinksamuri.com or stickers/stencils for my bullet journaling If I sent you to a dollar store with $20, what would you walk out with? Nothing Would you rather receive supplies/tools for your own craft/hobby or receive something you can't make yourself? Something I won't make for myself. I'm an interdisciplinary artist truth is I can make anything I want...doesn't mean I should though Is there anything you'd like from Penzeys (https://www.penzeys.com/)? I love Penzeys! Their poultry seasoning I use a lot of already. I've been wanting to try their: freeze dried shallots, Fox Point seasoning, Pico Fruta, and Penzeys Revolution would anybody like a small cross stitch thing, like a patch or pin? or cross stitching notions like handmade needle minders? A patch or pin. No notions Is there anything you'd like from the UK? Good clotted cream or lemon curd. Do you have a particular fandom you'd like stuff from? Anything like that will be found in my wishlists. No Harry Potter though. I'm currently not so inclined to encourage lining JK's pockets right now. How do you feel about tea? Preferences? Would you want anything from David's Tea (https://www.davidstea.com/us_en/home/), Steepologie (https://www.steepologie.com/), Bird & Blend (https://birdandblendtea.com/us_en/), or do you have a favorite tea maker to suggest? What about tea tools or cups? I love tea but currently swimming in it. I do like mug rugs if you happen to make them. Halloween or Winter themed ones would be nice. How do you feel about fragrant things for the home like incense, candles, atmosphere spray? I love them and will have my preferences in my wishlists Do you share your home with any loved ones (human, feline, canine, etc.) who might enjoy a tiny treat too? I do but they get spoiled enough already Does anyone like the prints or items from www.ElissaMarieCreative.com ? I have a few of her prints and the notebooks and they are quality! What about www.drawingsbynicole.com? Anything specific? Elissa Marie Creative: I really like her witchy, small bee, or skull stickers. Particularly the human skulls. Does anything from www.vapidlacquer.com stick out to you? No thank you I do pour painting/acrylic fluid art (with varying degrees of success, haha). Would you like a custom piece in colors of your choice (takes 3-4 weeks with curing, longer if you want it sealed, so it would arrive post-round if custom) or a piece already finished in my collection? I have mostly 12 x 12 and 10 x 10s right now. Pics available upon request! No thank you One of the things I do is make nifty things from sweaters that I cut up & upcycle into things like super warm mittens, arm warmers, striped arm warmers, cowls, teapot cozies, & French press cozies. I don't have a slipper I love yet, but I'm working on it. So, which of these things might you like? Give me some thoughts on colors you like & if for a teapot or press, I need to know a size. I could use a french press cozy I enjoy historical reproductions and am a fan of LBCC Historical Apothecary. Is there something in her store you might be interested in? No thank you Do you have a favorite art style/movement/artist? My favorite artists are Edward Gorey, Basil Gogos, and Graham "Ghastly" Ingels. I like old horror comics quite a bit. Who is your fashion icon(s)? The witch in the woods/Mrs. Slocum from (Are You Being Served...mostly in hair)/ and these days Mrs. Roper. I'm trying to decide my next fashion/personal style direction so no clothes please. What is your favorite mythological creature? Banshees and Mermaids is there anything you want from Lush? Keep Calm, Wash On hand care kit, Boo shower gel, Very, Very Frightening shower jelly Do you need any astrological work done, since thats one of my professions? Any particular areas you could utilize a consultation? Sure. If you want to do one for my business would be awesome. Long range business planning is a bit of a challenge these days. How do you feel about the homemade fudge I sell in my etsy shop? https://www.etsy.com/shop/HollysRainbow -particular preferences, flavors (consider I take special flavor requests all the time!)? No fudge please How do you feel about keto or sugar-free, low carb baked goods or treats?? 12 Days of Xmas Wishlists and Q&A
spookygrrrly posted a blog entry in Spookygrrrly's Tabernacle O'Terror
So here are my wishlists: Ravelry: Username is Spookygrrrly and I have a wishlist bundle for pattern Id like and dont have Amazon: searchable under my email or full name Haul of Gloi: Yule scents that sound yummy are Nefarious Gingerbread Man, Winter Divinity, and Snow Wolf. Especially that Nefarious Gingerbread Man would be great as a perfume oil. I would also like to try their sugar exfoliant. -
I took a risk on getting this because things like fir and balsam don’t usually work on me but I was hoping they would play a minor role. Luckily I was right and it is more spicy sweet with a little woodsy rather than overpowering woods. In bottle: I get the spice and grapes, apple, blackberry the most. Wet: Now more of the “woodsy” scents come out and I can make out the juniper berry and cedar. But it’s more a nice compliment to the already spice and fruit scents and underneath Dry: As it drys it starts to become a fuller scent. The fruit dies down and the clove and woodsmoke finally come out to play. I really like it. Overall I’m very happy I took the risk on this scent and it’s been a favorite for fall this year.

Q&A for 13 Days of Halloween 2017
spookygrrrly posted a blog entry in Spookygrrrly's Tabernacle O'Terror
Here is where I'm answering all the questions for the 13 Days of Halloween swap. I'll keep updating this thread and newest updates will be at the top. **Updated 9/13** Would you like to receive anything related to: Disney? I'm OK with Disneyd If so, any favorite characters? Alice in Wonderland (especially the Cheshire Cat), Malicifent, Snow White's evil Queen, Zero from Nighmare Before Christmas, and anything from the Haunted Mansion And to be more specific about Disney: How do you feel about Beauty and the beast? Not a fan And what about Harry Potter related items? We are big Potter fans in my house. I'm a Ravenclaw (but I secretly think I'm a Huffleclaw). Pokemon? Any favorites? Not into Pokémon Is there any thing, category, or brand from which you would absolutely NOT like to receive things (ie., you're overrun with candy corn, you don't do scents outside of BPAL, or if you ever see another Stephen King item, it will be too soon)? I only buy BPAL but other similar oil based scents are OK. I do not do alchol based scents at all. Bath & Body Works - love them or hate them? If the former, fave product types? I like them. I usually get the shower gel, foaming hand soap, or hand sanitizer. I like their fall/Halloween scents, particularly things with pumpkin, apples, spices, and vanilla. I'm in Japan, is there anything specific from here you would be interested in? Surprise me Is there anything from The Netherlands/Europe that you're interested in? I'm always happy to receive Europian chocolate how would you feel about receiving a hand-painted container for your bpal and/or other treasures? if you are on board with that, would you want a big wood box (~50 bottles), a small wood box (~20 bottles) or a tin for carrying imps around? I can really use something for my imp storage. Especially if it has a way to separate collections or things. I don't need anything for my bottles...already have storage for them. if you were to receive something hand knit, what type of item would you like? hat, cowl, handwarmers, etc. and what color(s)? I'm good but thank you. Nail wraps - yay or nay? Would including a small manicure set to go with them help? I like nail wraps but do not need a manicure set. Do you want wax melts? No thanks, not a fan. Are you okay with homemade food? If you are shipping from the US...sure! If you are outside of the USA please check with US customs. They can get weird about some homemade foods. Mostly I think that pertains to fruits, nuts, and some cheeses. If you are okay with decorations, do you have a preference to table-top, wall hanging or window decorations? Decorations are good. Wall, door, or window decorations are pretty much always good. Table top...I have a cat and limited shelf/table space so while I like table top decorations I can't have a whole logo of them. If it's really awesome I'll find a space though. How do you feel about stationary and/or papercrafting supplies? Honestly I have way more stationary right now than I'm actually using. And I've been getting rid of my paper crafting supplies so please no more. How do you feel about kitschy/silly Halloween jewelry? Not my thing. I won't wear it. Would you like a Halloween wreath? I would like a Halloween wreath. I keep meaning to make one but I never seem to get around to it. What rares are you dying to try??? Alice in the Pumpkin Patch, Snake Oil in the Pumpkin Patch, and Dorian Do you like comic books and/or graphic novels? I do. I don't have any I'm currently following but I like horror comics, and things like Sandman, Johnny the Homocidal Maniac, and Lumber Janes. -

Forum Name: Spookygrrrly Allergies, dietary, and lifestyle restrictions: For matching purposes, are there any common allergens in your environment, that might affect matching (pets, smoke, live in a field of ragweed)? We have cats and a dog. I am very careful to make sure pet hair doesn't end up in packages but anyone with bad allergies probably wouldn't want the risk. Do you (or anyone who might come in contact or view of the contents of these glorious packages) have any kind of phobia, trigger, or squick-out which is likely to arise in fall or Halloween-themed goodies (please address concerns over spiders, ghosts, severed hands, etc., here)? Nothing with too many spiders. I am totally fine with spiders but my husband and son are aracnophobic. If they don't look very real that's fine but a fake egg sac would not be. Is there anything (that you know of) which it is illegal to mail to you, or that might cause Customs to become upset and hang on to your package? If mailing to the USA from another country you can not mail any fruit, vegetables, plants, or seeds. You also can't ship nail polish or perfumes containing alcohol internationally. Do you celebrate any fall holidays? Please feel free to place as much info/context as you wish: I celebrate Halloween and Samhain Are there certain things for these holidays--or your general love of fall-- that you would particularly appreciate receiving? I prefer the orange and black vintage halloween type decorations. I also love the classic movie monsters, haunted houses, ravens, and skeletons. Think spooky more than gorey. If you celebrate Halloween, are you dressing up? I haven't decided what I'm doing this year. *What as? Not sure *Would you like costume additions or accessories? No thanks Would you like decorations? Sure Favorite Colors: Green and purple / red and black/ black and grey Least Favorite Colors: Pastels Favorite Flavors: Pumpkin, chocolate, spices, caramel Least Favorite Flavors: sour...unless it's sour apple Do you like coffee and/or tea? Tea! Favorite snacks and treats: I can't think of much to put down because most of my snacks/treats are fruits. Though I do like cookies, good chocolate, and if you are international love to try treats I can't get in the US Favorite scents(both specific notes and perfume blends): To give you an idea my favorite BPAL scents are: Burial, Snake Oil, Gingerbread Snake, Ouija, Womb Fury, and Jack. I tend to go for foodie, spicy, leathery sorts of scents. Rarely do florals except for Jasmine. I LOVE honey notes. Least Favorite Scents: Anything with rose, ozone, or "cold" scents. Do you wear nail polish? Not really. Would you like makeup? Not for this swap as I'm pretty picky with my makeup *If you would like makeup, what sorts would you prefer? *Any favorite makeup brands, colors? *Any hated/not-preferred makeup brands, colors, or products (example: thanks to your sample box of choice, you hope never to see another black eyeliner as long as you live)? Favorite bath and body products? No products for baths because I only have a shower, so things like bath bombs won't work. Hair gloss is good. I like nice soaps too. Personal clothing style: Goth casual...I wear a lot of staple pieces (jeans, leggings, t-shirts, cardigans) but they are usually black...or have bones on them...and it's all about the accessories: shoes, hair, jewelry Do you like jewelry? I do but I'm a jeweler so I tend to just wear my own. Though if you make jewelry I love to have pieces by other jewelry makers too. *If so, what sort? Pendants, bracelets, and earrings *What sizes and/or lengths do you prefer? 18" or longer necklaces, I have a 7" wrist but if it's a bangle with no clasp than it needs to be large, any earrings but wearing more dangly earring lately. Would you enjoy receiving wearables (shirts, socks, shoes, arm/legwarmers, hats, etc.)? hats, scarves, mittens, gloves, and socks are OK *Sizing on wearables: I don't think those really come in sizes. Just general women's sizes. Home style: In progress. We're in the middle of clearing out and reworking things right now. Though I adore Victorian architecture and styling, collect horror memorabilia, my husband is into sci-fi and baseball, and our home is very mid-70's...you can see what I'm working with here. Would you appreciate decoratives or art for your home? No thank you *Are there any restrictions (no naked people, no breakables, that kind of thing)? What sort of music do you like? Most kinds but I listen to a lot of hard rock, goth, punk, alternative sorts of things. Are you okay with burned music CDs? I don't have a way to play them. Do you have VHS/DVD/Blu-Ray...Betamax? I don't cosplay Or tabletop gaming? I occasionally still play D&D but that's about it. Would you like to receive books? Always *what kind of books/format? Horror and mysteries are my two favorite genres, paper or hard back please. How about magazines? I don't really do magazines any more but would make exceptions for Fangoria and Rue Morgue. Or any other horror or knitting magazine that isn't from the US PDFs and craft patterns? I have a Ravelry wish list for the knitting patterns I'd like. My Ravelry name is also Spookygrrrly Are there any other members of your household(significant other, furbabies, small, adorable humanoids, any other awesome person you consider partof your world) who might appreciate a little bit of fall-themed gifting? (2016 Vintage) I missed out on Womb Furie the last couple times it came out....so it was the first thing that went into my cart this Luper! I've been a Snake Oil fan for a while now and practically lived in Gingerbread Snake this winter. Only recently have I gotten into honey scents. So buying this was a no brainer...and Oh my goodness...it is divine scrumptiousness in a bottle! It is what it says it is: snake oil and honey. Actually this is the first time a "honey" scent was so prominent on me. Usually the honey lurks in the background but not this time. The honey is more up front and it sort of "softens" the snake oil. Usually when I put Snake Oil on I have to stay away from people for about an hour for the scent to die down. I don't have that with this at all. It starts off soft but strong and lasts, and lasts, and lasts. I am absolutely in love with this scent!
