For me, I think it's the mugwort and blue musk combo that's so very stinky, and to the point where I'm nearly repulsed by the scent in the bottle. I've never smelled blue musk before. I usually have really good luck with musk, but I did have a bad experience with black musk from a BPAL scent before and I'm hoping this blue musk doesn't repeat that. However, I find that if I don't put my nose very close to it, the stinkiness mellows and I'm able to smell something more herbal and pleasant. After it's been on my skin a few minutes, the rose starts to peek out a little bit and it becomes much prettier, much more fresh. I'm keeping this one to see how it ages - I hope the mugwort mellows and the other scents come out more, because what I'm smelling now is very nice.

This one is so interesting! In the bottle, it smells almost exactly like Bien Loin d'ici, one of my favorites. On, wet, it smells again almost exactly like Bien Loin d'ici, but there's a darker, more earthy note that adds an almost "dirty" smell - like, literal dirt. I'm guessing this must be the iced peat. I really like this stage. Unfortunately, as it dries, the peat vanishes and it's back to the red musk and honey. I don't get any of the other notes at all, but I amp red musk and honey like crazy, so I'm not too surprised by that. Overall I really like it, and I'll be interested to see how it ages. I'm hoping the peat scent gets a bit stronger, and that the other notes come out too.

This one doesn't morph a lot, at least not yet. Maybe as it ages. But it starts out yummy pumpkin patch with crust, and ends yummy pumpkin patch with crust. Like...if you took the fresh pumpkin, vine, and a hint of dirt, and dumped it into a delicious pumpkin pie shell. This sounds gross as I describe it, but it's so wonderful and quite possibly my #1 favorite weenie of the year! I can't stop sniffing my wrist. The Great Pumpkin, indeed!

I just got this last week and have tried it for two separate things. I have been entirely amazed by how well it works! First, I had a nasty cystic zit that cropped up right before my period hit, as always. It's extremely painful, so I daubed a tiny dot of Healing over it (probably not the way this stuff should be used, but the skin wasn't broken). The next morning, it wasn't gone, but the pain was far reduced and I was able to cover it with concealer. I was very happy with that. I also tried it for my debilitating cramps. As a previous reviewed mentioned, it was the most amazing warmth, almost like wearing one of those disposable sticky heating pads. I can still feel it, it's very soothing and helping me not have to constantly pop Midol to get through the day. I'm absolutely shocked by how well and how quickly this works. The smell is really stinky to me, practically full-on citronella, but hey, I didn't buy it as a perfume, and for results like these I'm happy to deal with it!

In bottle: pumpkin and patchouli On, wet: pumpkin and patchouli Drydown: buttery pumpkin and patchouli Dry: buttery pumpkin and patchouli So...obviously the pumpkin and the patchouli overpowered everything else. But it's still nice, as I like both of those scents, and I know from experience that both the pumpkin and patchouli notes tend to mellow with age, so I'm thinking this will be lovely on me in about six months or so.

13 - September 13, 2013 My first 13! If the others are anything like this, it won't be my last. This stuff is so, so good. I'm wishing I'd purchased a back up bottle when I had the chance. In bottle: chocolatey, but not really sweet. Kinda like baking chocolate. On, wet: same scent as in bottle. Drydown: still chocolate, but I'm starting to smell the herbs and other notes (I can't distinguish them), which makes it not foody but just sweet and a tiny bit exotic. Dry: the spices and herbs come out more, and there's something almost green smelling mixed in now, but the main chocolate scent is the same. I'm surprised the clove is playing nice, I usually amp clove till you can't smell anything else, but here it's nicely blended. I am not really a chocolate scent person, but this is just...I love it. I can't stop smelling the back of my hand where I applied it!

I ordered this one because of the pine, and sadly so far I'm not smelling any of that. Wet, it was all pitch and clove, and now as it's nearly dry it's all clove. It's beautiful, don't get me wrong, very spicy and somehow not foody at all...but I was really hoping for some pine. Maybe as it ages? We will see.

I like this one, which surprises me. The main note seems to be the lychee, I guess, and the snow is something I more feel in my nose than smell (that seems to be the case with all snow notes for me). As it's drying I can start to smell the resins. I hate florals, but this seems very light and subtle. Keeper for me!

I'm new to BPAL and didn't realize this was an offering...lucky me, I found a full bottle on ebay! This is a birthday scent for me, and I was determined to love it...and guess what, I DO!! As others have said, it does come over strongly peach at first. I hate florals, and peach, but this one is just working for me. It comes over floral and peachy at first, and then something else takes over and I start getting a perfect winter's evening. You know how you breathe in cold air, and how you can taste it in the back of your throat, more than you can actually smell it? This scent mimics that feeling, almost perfectly. I don't get the pine or holly or any traditional winter scents that I was excited about, but I get that snow cold scent that makes me think of home, and for that alone I am in love.

In bottle: sharp, strong cologne-y scent, to be honest a bit cheap smelling, like something people would've worn during the '80s (my grandmother must've worn something like this, it's very strongly evocative of that time period for me for some reason). On, wet: same cologne scent, nothing else really comes through. Drydown: wait, is that...tobacco? The cologne is fading and now I'm starting to smell the other notes. Dry: I LOVE this, it's just a beautiful scent. The tobacco and opium temper the cologne. It's blended perfectly. The sharpness is completely gone and there's a slight sweetness, maybe from the sherry? This is the type of BPAL blend that I adore - strong, with a hint of sweetness but not at all sickly-sweet. I can't stop sniffing my arm where I applied it, it smells EXACTLY like I was hoping it would when I read the description. I can't wait to see how it ages (if I actually let it age!). This is my favorite of the Weenies I've tried this year. I was between this one and a different Haunted House, soooo happy I picked this one!!

In bottle: musky and a little incense-y. I'm intrigued. On, wet: Uck. The musk takes over and it's all I can smell. It's almost nose-wrinkling. The first time I wore it I decided I hated it and scrubbed it off, but I really wanted it to work for me, so I tried again and let it sit. Drydown: I noticed this beautiful, somewhat sexy scent all around me. I sniffed everything until I found it on my wrist. The oil had morphed into something incredibly gorgeous and yes, super sexy. The caramel came out to sweeten the musk a little, but it's not a foody scent at all. It's just warm and delicious! Dry: it doesn't really morph any more, just stays yummy and sexy. I LOVE this! I ordered a 5ml with my Halloweenies and then didn't wear it again till it arrived, I didn't want to run out! This has surpassed O as my absolute favorite BPAL oil. I never want to be without it!

I ordered a sample of this one based on the description. The first time I smelled it, both in the imp and on myself, I was not happy. In the imp, it smelled like sharp, almost bitter wine. On me, it was the same. But I desperately wanted this to work on me, and I kept the imp instead of trading it because I wanted it to work. I am SO HAPPY I did. Maybe it was the aging, maybe something else, but now when I wear it it blossoms to sweet, rich wine berries. While this isn't my absolute favorite BPAL, it is the most evocative I own; makes me feel like I have a mouthful of berries soaked in rich dark wine. Another thing I noticed about this - the way it smells is tied to my mood, in a way no other BPAL I own is. When I'm angry or negative, I smell a thick, bitter dirt along with the sweet dark honey wine. When I'm happy and all is good, it's just perfect. I love this scent. It's next on my list for a 5ml bottle!

2012 version, fresh from the Lab today. In bottle: Uck! Sharp and astringent, almost nauseating. I almost don't even want to put it on. On skin, wet: same. Worried this could've been a mistake. I don't get incense, books or anything except really strong cleaner stuff. On skin, drying: softening up. Patchouli? I recently discovered patchouli and I really don't get along...Also a dryness that almost makes me cough. Dry, two - three hours after applying: mmmm...something warm and creamy, mixed with a scent that makes me thing strongly of old, dusty paper. There's virtually no throw; this is a scent to cuddle up with and breathe in deep. I can't pick out any individual notes, but someone earlier said vanilla musk. There's no sweetness like with vanilla, but I agree with the sentiment. It's beautiful. I'm happy to go through the somewhat icky phase to get to this gorgeous, warm scent. Makes me think of curling up with my favorite book on a cool autumn evening.

In the bottle, to me this smells almost exactly like Death on a Pale Horse. That scent didn't work for me at all, so I'm a bit worried. The only ingredient I see that they share in common is the patchouli, so maybe that's just not something I should be wearing. I'm testing it and as it's starting to dry down it's softening up a bit, thank goodness. The musk, which I usually amp like crazy, is starting to come out and the scent is turning much, much more pleasant, although not what I expected at all. There's absolutely no sweetness to it at all. The throw is virtually non-existent. Someone else described it as woodsy, and I'm starting to get that more and more. I'm going to play with this one a bit. Since the patchouli, which so turned me off Death on a Pale Horse (funny, I always assumed that was the mint and lime combo, but I guess I was wrong), is really fading as it dries, I think there's hope for me with it! ETA: okay, I've given it a few days and have decided I really like it. The patchouli is very strong at first, but within an hour it starts to warm up with the musk and other scents and becomes something really fantastic. It's got a TON of staying power, but I've noticed that on me anything that has honey as a note seems to stick around. Funny enough, at the end of the day (literal end, when I was getting ready for bed) the honey had crept out as the dominant scent and it reminded me a lot of O. Which I love and already own, so if it smelled just like it from the beginning I'd have been disappointed, but since it didn't I'm fine with it. Hooray! So happy I like this one. Was really disappointed when I thought it wasn't going to work.

I adore this one, probably my favorite so far! I'm from Detroit, and I can tell you it smells like I remember Devil's Night, except for the booze (hey, I was like 8). It's the only BPAL scent that anyone's ever commented on...I get a lot of "What's that gorgeous scent you're wearing?" Which tells me at least, it's perfect for my chemistry. But like I said, I'm a girl from Detroit, so it's only natural that this would work one me! Love it, kinda said I only ordered one bottle and it's not available with the 2012 weenies.
