Chaos Theory V: Recursive Self Similarity v4
nursekins replied to marared's topic in Limited Editions
XLIX -This one is a heavy vanilla snake oil.It has a really foody vibe to it...not cake more unique.I would say it is more like snake oil meets drink me...I get a slight buttery note with it and a berry note...not a traditional berry scent...this is like the cranberry in drink me...it is there and tart..not overly sweet...yes this is a drink me and snake oil's love child.I adore it...Very strong with great throw. -
Erik- I was very scared of this one...the notes seemed like disaster for me...kerosene...leather...oil...all of these alone spell awful for me...but...erik is gorgeous and perfect I love this story... This is the perfect combination of darkness and white...I sense the dark velvet and a cold black patent leather notes...you can smell the dark underground chamber complete with dust and cold stone notes...I do get a wood note but it is very aged and in noway resembles fresh wood...It is a strong dark scent...one you can not ignore...but after a time you begin to get something pure and very white at the heart...it is hard to put into words...it is almost what a pure white scent would be...bright and strong...like maybe a combo of pure ozone,musk..clouds...water droplets...I am sorry I am at a loss for words on the exact notes...This is perfect as far as a picture for me...dead on erik...not so much the phantom you see on stage...think more of the actual novel

Another one that had to ride on the plane with me....I love it This one goes on tang...not in a bad I am in first grade way but oh yeah tang...which I happen to love the scent of...This one is a lovely drink again(maybe I am a alcoholic the way I get drink scents...LOL)It is tang based...It is in a punch bowl at a halloween party. The ice has all melted so it is not overpowering tang as it has been diluted....there are orange slices floating in the punch...just a basic orange slice...there is some other citrus in there with the tang...I am thinking perhaps blood orange as this is not a juicy tangy orange scent but it reminds me of the sweetness of a blood orange...I get almost a 7 up note in the background...it is very subtle and powdered sugar...I have no idea where that fits in...but I do get that note...someone must have decided to decorate with orange blossom around the punch bowl because I get them here as well playing in the background...this one is citrus based so fading is an issue.

This one goes on blueberry wine...very strong on the initial. This is a deep blue scent. The blueberry is there but it is balanced with other notes...it is not like blue fire where it is jump at you blueberry...the blueberry reminds me of blueberry wine...it is not a candy blueberry or a blueberry shortcake doll scent. It feels like there maybe a wine note that is more on par with blood garden playing in the background...I get am almost clean musky feeling to mine..yes there is a distinct light musk...very clean...there feel like there is a touch of juniper binding them together...it smells cold with out mint or ozone...it just screams I am blue...I do not get the candy blueberry scent that many did at the will call testers from before..so I maybe odd..

This one is INCREDIBLE...It is so good it went on the plane with me for I would have cried had I lost it... It goes on a rich oak smell...it has this feeling of a dark almond for a moment...and it goes on sweet...a touch of heavy dark sugar...not brown sugar...lightly toasted sugar...on the drydown...it puts you in a dark forest in the fall...it is just after sunset so there is still a bit of light in the sky...there are piles of dead leaves underfoot...there has been no rain so they are dry leaves...there is a slight musky oldness to this forest...it is not green and alive but rather old...wooden...the primary tree are oak...huge old oak trees...you can smell everything on these trees...the few crunchy leaves on the tree...the tree bark and rich oakwood scent...it is strong and comforting...you can smell a very light touch of the moss on the trunk...the coldness creeping the the air after the sun goes down...and the most lightest touch of bonfire in the far distance...I am amazed I get that smoke note and like it...This scent is a true work of art...I am in love with it

I adore this blend..I would say it is cousin scents with glowing vulva and maybe second cousin to underpants...I mean this because of the vanilla note...I would say it is the same vanilla that is used in both of these...I get a wonderful orange blossom smell...I know some have gotten orange creamsicles but I do not. I do not feel that this scent is foody at all.It has some very soft sandalwood in the background that really keeps the vanilla in that lovely warm zone without going foody...I get a VERY mild touch of cream and the most stunning of the notes is rice...I get the distinct starch like rice note...Seriously this is so lovely...it is such soft yet powerful scent...I really wish I would have gotten two...really

MCCLXXVIII-In the bottle-lime/apple boozy like scent Application-It goes on a lemon/lime scent with a sweet sugar note.Quite quickly it morphs...I get the mixture of lime marshmallows and melted butter...the base for krispie treats...yes that rich melted marshmallows and butter blend...imagine though these are lime marshmallows. After a bit ,it morphs again...the lime is giving way to an orange juice scent...yes orange juice concentrate...It tends to want to stay...orange juice concentrate, marshmallows and melted butter...very nice!!! MCCLXIII-In the bottle-bay rum/anise/dark woods Application-A blends of dark woods...maybe mahagony...touch of patchouli...and vanilla...oh yes dark vanilla. In time the anise fades out...the woods and bay rum get stronger...almost a gentle sexy cologne...alright given more time , the bay rum fades into a peppery resin like scent...with maybe a hint of anise...the vanilla must have an amber note to it...dark powder....the sweetness of the vanilla mellows the blend...sexy treat! MCCLXIV-In the bottle-Menthol and maybe green garden mint Application-Menthol...you can feel it in your nose...it has a slightly sweet green grass feeling to it...over time the green grass has to be catnip...it is a fresh catnip scent with menthol to keep it cool...there is a sweetness...maybe from the catnip...it is not sugar or vanilla....there is almost a buried lettuce green note as well MCCLXXI-In the bottle-I get soapy floral. Application- I am no good at florals...let me tell you the image it gives me...Put yourself in the powder room of a wealthy victorian. You see a variety of high end powders scented with amber and flowers.Bottles of white creams with a high end elegant scent. You see bars of french milled soap. All creamy and lovely white with the scent of the florals popular in the day.I think I detect lily of the valley, maybe liliac and a very minor hint of rose.Very high end...very elegant...sadly as you all may have guessed...not me MCCLXX-In the bottle -boozy vanilla grass??? Application-Vanilla....upon initial application I would say it is the vanilla in antique lace.It reminds me alot of antique lace with no floral elelment.I would say vanilla darkened by time, aged linen and the traces of old perfume...almost a slight incense note. It dries down to a lovely vanilla linen with just a hint of aged perfume. This is elegance I love!!!!! MCCLXXIII- In the bottle sweet tobacco with the slightest hint of coffee Application-On application I get dried tobacco leaf and wine...I do detect coffee playing in the background. As it dries I get a hazlenut ...earthy wine scent...just a bit of sweetness..I am going to say that is from the dried tobacco note...there is coffee in here...it is very subtle and lurking in the back...like someone is brewing the the distance...amazing!

Chaos Theory 4 DL-This one was described to me as popcorn.I do not get popcorn but what I do get is that strong grainy note.Cereal like.It is a bit more perfume like than straight up breakfast cereal, but still very foody.I get something sweet like a muted fruit or clover honey in cereal.I really like this blend.I am a big fan of grain notes:)...After time I am getting the same fruit note as drink me...I think this is maybe cranberry.

Ok more choas reviews!! MXL-This one was called dust and pineapple by the previous owner..On me it goes on a pith like Yuzu...maybe a very small amount of musk in the background. After time it sweetens up...the yuzu fades and I get like a passion fruit and some deep floral blend...a red floral but not rose...interesting...maybe pomegranate??Deep red tropical fruit...I wish I could place the floral...it just is "red" to me...sadly this will not work but it is lovely DCCCXXIII-.I was given the description of spicy chocolate.I have no idea...I mean really...I get sweet...almost like a poof scent...with corn syrup...and something almost earth like...I will have to retest as I feel like I just do not know... CLIII-This one was described to me as evil grapefruit...I got no grapefruit...what I did get is the most sexy blend...I mean really gorgeous! It has a very strong patchouli note...I would say dirt like...perhaps vetivier...and pepper ...black pepper...maybe a slight hint of resins and dried leaves...oh yes...sexy!!! DCLXXXIV- I think this may be my favorite...I know I have said that before but this is divine. In the bottle this is a sugary Frakenberry cereal. Upon application is morphs into a combo of Frakenberry cereal(the grain part),the sugary strawberry marshmallow and a hint of milk.I am shocked and delighted.Grain notes are so rare and so wonderful.I have no idea how Beth did "Frakenberry" but I am thrilled. This one is also very strong and lasts forever:)

am such a chaos theory vamp...on to more reviews CLXI-.It is divine.I can not tell you all what the notes are but I will do my best to paint a picture.Ok picture yourself in a very old run down woodne home...the two story type with the peeling paint...you walk in the door are are hit with the scent of gloom and age.You smell the warped wood and moisture in the air.You decide the basement would be cool to explore so you head down the stairs. When you get there you smell the old wood from above. You smell cold rock with years of moisture and moss...just an aged dark scent. Not mold like...just very old...I LOVE..this scent CLXXII-This was may not work.I love the mint that goes on the initial application.Like a green mint....Maybe violet??A cool green stem like note. After short drydown though I am getting a very strong floral note ...it started out like lilac but it is going lily...like a lily of the valley...I will have to ponder this one... This was scotchbonnet's review Mine DLXXII-This one starts out like a candy/strawberry bubblegum scent ...It begins to morph and I get almost a cake like batter...but not the type in eat me or yellow cake...this is almost like a pancake scent...buttery and with a slight hint of vanilla...the strawberry note is still there and this one is lovely..I had double check the numbers as this one is so different on me...it is the one...skin chemistry is so interesting:)

Number is DCVI This is AMAZING!!!!! I am trying to come up with a good description for this one...it is a mint cake scent..seriously mint cake...I have never thought bpal would make a mint cake scent...It is as if snowblind met a light yellow cake version of the cake scent in eat me..sweet without being overly cloying...that is why I say the eat me like cake vibe which is light and gorgeous on me...it is very buttery in the bottle...no hint of mint...but it goes on cake with a wonderful mint...it is cooling to my skin...and I want to eat it.....This is pure perfection Eta- As it dries down...more of a powdered sugar note is coming out...Oh this is pure love Chaos Theory 4 CCX On initial application this is almost a single note sweet orange...very juicy...reminds me a great deal of fresh squeezed OJ...after a very brief period of time a very light vanilla...more the type used in antique lace...not underpants...the orange gets a hint of floral so it is somewhere between sweet orange and orange blossom...a bit of sweetness come through...very light...maybe a very minor hint of butter and white sugar but VERY subtle...this is not one you would say...foody foody cake...I would say a high end light treat...maybe an orange blossom or orange water cake...no icing..and just a bit of sweetness...Wonderful...I am so thrilled with this run of chaos theory DCXC-This is one of my true love scents.I am amazed and feel very lucky I got it. In the bottle dark chocolate and orange... initial-It goes on dark chocolate with a hint of sweet orange...after just a minute a dark woodsy note really comes out...gorgeous and sexy...it morphs yet again when my beloved sassafras make a very subtle entry...Chocolate,dark woods and sassafras...the citrus is now gone.. After a few minutes drydown it settles into a sarsaparilla scent...not as bouncy as sassafras...the lovely dark vanilla comes out in place of the dark chocolate ...the woodsy note reminds me of a dry crunchy bark...this blend is dark, sexy and PERFECTION!!! DCCVII-In the bottle of very sweet pineapple scent.Initial it goes on a very strong tart pineapple scent. As it dries down some sugar notes creep in...very pineapple more sweet than tart ....then comes the note that took me awhile to place...high end paper...I know that sounds odd but that is what it is...after awhile it smells like pineapple juice that has been sweetened and spilled on stationary...it is very unique and lovely.Maybe a hint of vanilla...this one is boogling me DCXCII-In the bottle thick boozy butter vanilla. This one is a morpher. It goes into a canned pineapple scent very fast...canned with heavy syrup. It gets a hint of canned pears as well...over time a salty note comes out...maybe a slight buttery note...sweet but salty and chewy...I knew this smelled familiar to me...what I get is passion fruit salt water taffy ,the kind we get when we go to Wisconsin Dells to this one particular candy store...still a bit of pineapple...

I have been blessed enough to have a wonderful friend like goldenrubee who gifted me some. Thanks my dear. This is also my first formal review...so be kind:) wet-A mellow citrus scent. This is orange like but not sharp like a naval orange...this reminds me more of a nectarine or honey tangerine...sweet and soft...I do not get any hint of the pith.. initial application-this is soft and sweet...A beautiful mix of that nectarine/tangerine vibe...I get a little honey from the sweetness...maybe even a hint of the rind after it has been dried a bit...lovely drydown-Gorgeous,the orange has morphed a bit into a orange blossom scent...airy light and fresh...no tartness ever pops through...the citrus note takes a backseat to the floral blossom like note...I still get a honey type note...orange blossom honey. I feel so lucky to have had the chance to try this...lovely
