My first BPAL order arrived in October (the 10th, to be exact), and I am yet to use up an imp! I have bottles of my favourite scents already, but I'm happy to let them age up a bit while I use the imps (well, except for that one imp I lost, thusly use the bottle to death). As for oil lifespan, mine are all fine, even that bottle I accidentally got warm in my handbag last weekend.

Christmas eve. It will see me doing a lot of cooking, so... I have no yules. I'll maybe layer Bliss and Snake Oil and pretend it's boomslang lololo. Actually, that sounds really enticing. God I want to do that NOW!

Simply because this one isn't anywhere to be found in the thread. C: Port Royal omnomnom

Kathmandu is incredibly woody and spicy. Very dry and gorgeous. Fenris Wolf is almost a softer, greener version of it, with a sweetener in the rosewood and musk. <3 sandalwood.

A two month old imp that I bought on my Wanderlust spree. I loved the idea of this fragrance. The notes made me think 'chai!' though without the tea and milk, I expected it to be a spicier version of my favourite tea. I have to be careful where I apply this, as it brings up welts on sensitive parts. In the imp: CINNAMON, BABY! Slightly peppery, with a sweet undertone (probably the honey). Wet on skin: Cinnnaaaaamoooooonnnnn, pepper, honey. Maybe a hint of vanilla? Sooooo good. <3 Drydown: Woody, still very cinnamony. A background of something soapy that is fading fast- something greenly spicy (ginger?) Dry: Cinnamon, honey, a slight background of a musk I actually like! Woody, foody, gorgeous. I really love this scent. It's comforting and warm. I grew up on my mum surprising me every winter with fresh chai bubbling away over the fire. This is just delicious, and eventually I will upgrade to a bottle, but for now I'll add in an imp every few orders.

The Antikythera Mechanism

This was something I originally ordered for my ex. He ended up having a reaction to something in it, but it smelled amazing on him. In the imp: Something bitter behind a fragrance I can't pin down. Very masculine. Wet on skin: Goodness, I'm really bad at scents lately! Not morphing at all from imp. Drydown: Hints of vanilla, a tang of sharp woods; something slightly medicinal, like tiger balm. Dry: A sweet honey base with that medicinal woody tang, possibly liquorice somewhere? Still quite masculine, but I think I can work it. I'll definitely replace the imp when it runs out, but I don't think I'll upgrade to a bottle any time soon. Edit, 12 hours later: OMG this smells amazing, and has since about half an hour after drying. Okay I may have to rethink the bottle thing. I only applied it to my wrists, but it seems to have permeated my clothes, which is just beautiful. -
This imp is about two months old. Tried previously, liked it and took notes, but not in-depth. In the imp: Very light. Hints of spices and vanilla, and maybe... butter? Sort of cakey. Yummy! Wet on skin: Still very light. I honestly can barely smell a thing. What's going on here? Has someone broken into my collection and watered down stuff? Drydown: I'm seriously getting next to nothing here, maybe a hint of play-do and butter with a spicy background? This was so nice last time!! Dry: I'mma go cry. Must be a that-time-of-the-month scent that doesn't like me.

I love the idea of this scent. I went mad on a Wanderlust purchasing spree last order, so of course this had to be in it. In the imp: Sharp citrus with a sweet powdery floral background. Wet on skin: Still that gorgeous sharp scent, but that powder is racing to the fore. Drydown: Holy crap that powder has a lot of throw. The citrus tones are fading away (nnooooo!), leaving me with candy-sweet powdery florals. Dry: Powdery florals. It's a nice powdery floral, I'll give it that, but I wish the citrus had stayed longer. Verdict: Très féminin. J'imagine rideaux blancs et une chambre lumineuse. Je suis allongée sur le lit, attendant mon amant. <3 When my imp runs out I'll likely order another, but I probably won't bottle this.

I closed my eyes and reached into my imp box. Dragon's Musk came out. This was a frimp. I amp musk, so I've only tried this once before, and didn't like it all that much, possibly because I'm not that much of a fan of dragon's blood either and the idea of it tainted my impression. In the imp: Musky, sweet, sort of soft, with a lingering tang of something in the background - probably the dragon's blood. Slightly hippy bookstore. Wet on skin: Creamier, but still with that dragon's blood tang. Drydown: Powdery, very feminine. Softer than the last time I tried it. Dry on skin: I feel like I could be a seductress in a Bond movie. Nothing really stands out in the fragrance anymore, it's all gorgeously balanced. I look forward to the next few hours with it on. Not a scent style I'd normally enjoy, but it is rather lovely. Edit: Almost 24 hours later, I can still faintly smell it on my wrists. I like it at this stage quite a bit, but as it stands, this will not be a scent I go back to. Glad it's a frimp, will pass it along to a friend.

I'd be very interested in seeing this - it sounds really handy Here's a link to my working version: https://sites.google.com/site/groovyteacosy/stuff/BPAL.accdb?attredirects=0&d=1 It's still very much in alpha, but it's going to be filled with fabulous fragrances when I finally get around to it! Sorry for not getting back to you sooner.

Imp: Slightly green, planty, with a touch of a nice floral underneath. Wet: Slightly alcoholic, with the florals coming to the fore. Dry: Now I have two different reactions to this depending on the time of the month. The majority of the month all I smell is 18th century whore perfume; lots of florals, not much else - very very nice on my skin. During ladytime I get the woods as well as the whore perfume, which rounds out the scent even more. Overall: Dry, uninhibitedly feminine. This is my absolute favourite GC scent so far. <3

I keep track of mine in an Access database that I designed myself. I can search fragrance descriptions as well as personal notes on a scent. Very handy, especially as I've added filters for owned/unowned. Looking for a scent with patchouli? Easy. If anyone is interested in seeing it, they're welcome to ask, but I haven't added many scents yet. Just ones so far that I'm interested in. One of the best things I've ever done in Access.
