I got this as a frimp with my last order - labbies, that was a stroke of genius! OH MY GOD. With the juniper and evergreen foresty notes, this is quite similar to Loup Garou, which is one of my favourite blends, but with a little hint of wild florals (as opposed to girly perfume florals, which I really don't like) and earthiness and a difference in overall character. Loup Garou is the wild animal, the predator, and Burial is the ground on which it walks, the woods which surround it. Superb. I must have a bottle!

This is for the 2007 blend. With my strange predilection for wolfy scents, the brothers of the wolf was obviously my first choice from the Lupercalia range. I was ambivalent about most of the notes apart from yummy juniper, but I was happily suprised as it's a stunning blend. The beeswax is initially strong, but once it calms down and allows the sweet honey and foresty notes to come out to play, it's very earthy and sexy in a masculine, animalistic way. It's smelt better and more complex and sexier every time I've worn it!

...This scent is that of unending, unquenchable hunger and feral madness. This is the dead of winter: a frozen night, chill wind, and the sharp, warm perfume of blood, fur, fang, and claw. Winter air, Terebinth pine, juniper berry, dusty orris, deep amber, white sandalwood, black musk, blue cedar, and tonka. "Love" is not a strong enough word for how I feel about Wolf Moon. I am in thrall to it; I can't get anything done while I'm wearing it because I'm just concentrating on inhaling. It's a perfect balance of woods, berry sweetness, smokiness and a note of chilly air. It's impressively reminiscent of being in a forest clearing on a moonlit winter's night, not alone. Absolutely my favourite BPAL blend ever, it's perfect.

I wasn't fussed about Hunger Moon, but its feline companion sounded like the best kind of fruity/spicy tea and - hurrah! - it does exactly what it says on the tin. And by "tin" I mean lab description, obviously. It's a very orange scent (the colour, not the fruit), warm and gorgeous. It reminds me a bit of my favourite Twinings tea (orange, mango and cinnamon) and overall it's lovely and comforting like a fuzzy, snuggly cat.

It's an intriguing sharp herbal scent in the bottle, and when first applied there's a biiiiiiiiig wet slap of bay. A little rosemary peeking out subtly, but no pine or lemon. I was really looking forward to trying out Nero because I love woodsy, herby masculine scents, but on drydown it blends into a scent like a single note of clove. Clove is lovely mixed with other scents, but by itself it's just not for me.
