In the bottle - sandalwood, a hint of vanilla and fruity, peachy type scent. Almost TOO sweet for me. Wet on skin - VERY peach....that's all I smell! Where did all the other smells go? I keep smelling it to see if I can get anything else - but nope..just peach. Wierd. Dry down - Sandalwood really comes out now, but then slowly gives away to some peach. I really don't like this on me...it starts to smell a bit like B.O. according to my sister and fiance. My skin chemistry just says NO! Into the swap pile!

So when I smelled this in the imp...I thought - ew. Stale...coffee...gross. It reminded me of when I worked in an office, and when I had to rinse out the coffee pot. Yucka! But when you are trying Bpal - you must not let the smell in the bottle influence you - or you will miss out. Once on the skin I got the coffee smell still - but the mahogany really started to come out. The vanilla is there, just very light giving a hint of sweetness to it. I'm not sure what a tonka bean would smell like, so I'm not sure if I'm smelling any tonka beans... As it dries I'm getting that juicy tone of fig.... Smelling this, I am envisioning exactly what the lab described... I can see that woman...I can see her applying this scent to herself. It's intoxicating. I want this in a 5ml.

In the vial I got ginger, and a little bit of floral... Not bad - I can't wait to put this on! It smells so different! Sadly, once on my skin, the ginger died and the florals came out and turned to laundry detergent on my skin *sighs* I didn't get tropical at all..I didn't even get that vibe from this. To me it just smelled like a really light floral laundry detergent... I wanted to love this one SO badly after reading the reviews - but I guess this just isn't meant to be But wait! After about 15 minutes it turned! It got...pretty!!! No more laundry smell! Very light, creamy floral.. Normally I dislike florals - but THIS is SO nice!! I still don't get that tropical vibe that so many people are describing..but I do see this as a nice light summer scent 5ml

In the imp... Minty...cold....mint... That's all I get. I'm scared to put this on my skin... I don't like minty smells... But here we go! Now I get.....mint and Juniper. This reminds me of minty gum on me... Oh geez..when it dried down...Juniper..wet...Juniper.. That's all I get. I don't smell Lotus at all! This is NOT for me. I'll see if my sister likes it, if not - swapping it!

Wooooo this imp is one boozy, but sweet little guy! There's a beautiful nutty undertone to it..and it's very sweet in the vial.... On my skin the buttercream and honey seemed to come out a lot more, but that beautiful rum tone is still there - and I seem to smell only the almond now - not really any hazlenut... Once it dried I smell sweet rum with a little nut...not really any buttercream anymore.. Just beautiful sweet rum 5ml for me!

When I opened up this imp - I got the scent of almonds...such strong delicious smelling almonds with a hint of spice...there's sweetness as well - I'm guessing that's honey? Either way I'm a little torn about this in the vial...I like it, but I'm uneasy about the spice... On my skin the smells all blend together beautifully.. It's spicey, but sweet.. It's warm...it's comforting.. It's beautiful. After it dried down, a spicey floral type of scent..and I still love it I want this in a 5ml please!

This is my first experience with anything that has fig in it... When I sniffed the imp - I was convinced that what I was smelling was roses...and maybe grapes? I don't know... So I went back and read the description....mandarin and fig? Well..ok. Not sure what a fig smells like...but alright! I didn't LOVE what I was smelling in the imp....but I didn't hate it. It was sweet. Light and sweet. Is the name Carnal really appropriate for this? On the skin it was still light and pretty - the mandarin was really powerful, and there was this ripe juicy undertone of SOMETHING with it....but wow, it's nice! I guess that's fig? Still not seeing the name Carnal with this though.. Spring time sweet - maybe. Carnal? No. After about 20 minutes of dry down the fig starts to smother the mandarin - the mandarin is still there - but it's less influencing. *sniff* Mmmmmm...so ripe...juicy...yummy. I think if all fig scents are like this - I may be a fig convert. I really really like it. I honestly still don't see the whole "Carnal" thing for this scent though... I will be wanting this in a 5ml. Edit: After a while this went very sweet on me - almost candy like.. I still like it

I LOVE this! I'm so glad that I bought a bottle *happy dance* In the bottle it smells like melted chocolate.. For some reason it doesn't remind me of white chocolate though - just regular milk chocolate. There is a slight floral tone to this and citrus as well..hmmm very nice! On my skin the orangey tones came out a little more..and something else, not quite floral - maybe the tea? I was a little unsure for a bit but as it dried down everything seemed to balance out and the chocolate was still pretty dominant... I love how this morphs - that is my main attraction to it... Chocolate to orange...chocolate to tea...chocolate to floral... My fiance kept swearing that it was constantly changing every time he smelled it.

All I can say about this is: It tingled on my skin, and it smelled just like Vics Vapour Rub.. I tried it twice just to be sure - and I didn't love it either time. It's just...too much for me. To the swap pile!

... Offerings of milk, honey and sweet grains were made to placate these creatures, and it is that the basis of the scent created in their name. This is SO light and pretty! In the bottle it smells just like honey and once I got it on my skin it smelled just like the oatmeal face masks that we have at The Body Shop I love this - I want it in a 5ml..but I want to do a test to see what happens if I layer more on - because just a single application is so faint that it doesn't last long on my skin. But when you smell this on your skin - you WILL be able to pick out a light honey scent, some oatmeal bases, and a milky type of texture..it's amazing

I got this as a frimp from the lab... I am not a fan of heavy florals, nor am I a fan of frankenscence usually - but in the odd blend I can like it. So I gave this a try anyway..can't be discriminating - sometimes you can be surprised In the bottle...rose. Lots and lots of rose with a smidge of lavender. Not promising to be too good..but onto the skin it goes! Rose at first...headachey...then the lavendar came out..then something a little softer..orchid maybe? Then..it hits after dry down - the frankenscence! I just cannot deal with this one...it's very much not for me...pretty..but not me, and I can't handle the smell of it....the lavender and frankenscene combining just doesn't like me. To the swap pile it goes!

In the bottle I smell a strong herbal type of smell...but there's something fruity and bubblegummish about it as well. Lotus maybe? It's VERY intense, but lovely. I'm thinking there's frankenscence in this, some fruity tones and the lotus... It makes my nose tickle a little, but onto the skin it goes. It is quite strong on me, it makes me literally say "woah!"..but it's so pretty, it really seems to help me clear my mind...help me focus. It's soothing in a way. It also seems to make me feel drained - like mentally tired after I had this on for about an hour - wierd. I will be getting this in a 5ml. I enjoy it

When I smelled this in the bottle I got vanilla, a very sweet vanilla..with a SLIGHT hint of floral to it. It was sweet - and when I compared what I read about it in the description to what I was smelling in the imp - it was very different... But I LOVED what I was smelling in the bottle, so I really hoped that this would go well on my skin. When I first applied it - it was still this vanilla smell, sweet but kinda warm...but light if that makes any sense. Wow...very light and pretty and sweet and...it's strange, but I can picture billowing lace curtains in an old ladies parlour. I can picture a very elegant and Victorian styled room just sniffing this. It's so delicate and pretty and feminine smelling.. It smells classic, but young. What a gorgeous scent Beth! I think this one will be a 5ml for me

A panoply of cultural treasures, spanning the herbs, flowers, oils and balms of the Romans, the Byzantines, the Mediterranean, the Levant, Northern China, Eastern Europe, Iran, the Bulgar-Kypchak, Mesopotamia, the Crimean Peninsula, Anatolia, Antioch, and North Africa. I got this as a frimp... In the bottle I got an herbal/grassy smell that was SO warm, but not intense at all - rather soft, I had to take a REALLY deep inhale to get the full smell of this. It reminded me of exotic markets and incense... SO beautiful!!! When I put it on my skin, it was smokey and herbal...VERY intense, what a change from in the imp! It was almost..bitter for lack of a better word. It seemed like there was something citrusy and plant like..Kind of earthy. Once it dried down, I'm guessing I started to smell the neroli..there was citrus and spice and I was just in heaven. This scent is SO warm, and I wanted to wrap myself in it! After about half an hour something floral came out - but it wasn't a floral that I disliked. Normally me and florals are very hit or miss...this was BEAUTIFUL!! I really really like this scent, and I think I want it in a 5ml.

I purchased this as an imp off someone on LJ In the bottle I wasn't quite sure what this smelled like, but it was a very "wet" smell. I'm guessing that this is ozone? There was a slight cherry blossom smell behind this dampness - kind of smells like being out in the rain, in the city with trees blooming around you...At least I'm guessing this is what it would smell like. There's a slight OTHER floral smell that lingered in my nostrils after I had my first sniff...I felt like I was in a garden...nevermind the city.. It was beautiful. So so pretty. Wet on my skin a bamboo scent came out, very wet and soft...then a citrusy type of smell, not quite sure what this is, but it's nice... As it started to dry down the ozone smell started to intensify on my skin....not for the better, I started to get a soapy type of smell. Oh no Not pleasant at all! Please don't do this to me Neo-Tokyo! I like you!! Sadly after an hour, the smell didn't get any better...it was SO soapy it was awful.. After I washed it off, it reminded both me and my fiance of Dove Soap. Darn

I received this as a frimp from the wonderful Bpal peoples... I will be honest - this scent made me feel rather ill... I am one of the few people on this planet who does not like the scent of lavender in the slightest, and it actually makes me feel queesy When I first opened the imp - all I could smell was lavender, with a SLIGHT touch of rosemary - probably other herbs too, but I'm not the best at identifying notes yet... It was VERY VERY herbal, and right away, I felt like I was going to be sick. But, I must be fair...you cannot judge a scent by the bottle...So - I dabbed it on my skin and took a sniff. Not much better. But there's a slight citrus undertone to this....lemon? Not quite sure, but it's there. After about an hour, my stomach was in knots, my head was pounding, and I really thought I was going to be sick. The lavender was stronger than ever, and the lemon smelled just like lemon cleaner...the combo was migraine worthy. I thought that I'd be able to at least sleep with this on and see if it did aide my dreams, but sadly I couldn't handle the scent enough to do that...I scrubbed it off as soon as I could. Sorry Bpal Lab.. This one just isn't for me

I got this as a decant..and I really wanted to love it. In the bottle: SO pretty! It's light and beautiful, and I just love it. My nose isn't really sure of what the blends in here are - but wow...so so pretty! Wet on the skin: Uh oh...this isn't like the bottle at all...This smells soapy on me, it smells...sicky sweet....Something just reacted badly right away, and it's making me feel ill. Dry Down: *sighs* Budding Moon, you and I were just not meant to be.. It smells like laundry detergent on me, and it's not getting any better as time goes on. This one is pretty heartbreaking - I'm having bad luck with imps lately!

I got this as a frimp from the Lab... I was a little hesitant about it to be honest - because I'm not a fan of the smell of leather , and I don't like roses in perfume, bubble bath etc. But hey, sometimes on the skin - it can be a whole other story right? In the Bottle: Rose. All I smell is rose. Dewy, wet, rose. Not that strong - but still ROSE. This may not turn out well at all....must be fair. Must try it on the skin. Wet on the Skin: Lots, and lots of rose....No leather at all, just...rose. Ugh. I don't like this at all. It's..pretty, but just SO not me..I honestly can't say I'd enjoy wearing this if it stays like this. Dry down: Well no leather - at all..none. Which is probably a good thing, but my gods - the rose has amplified like a MILLION times - and it's all I can smell. It's pretty - but just NOT me. This one is definitely going into the swap pile.

In The Bottle: Fresh, crisp, smokey....Oddly it DOES remind me of a fall evening...I will admit that when I read the description of it before purchasing this imp, I was skeptical of it smelling good....If the imp is true to what it will smell like on the skin - I am going to be one happy girl!!! Wet On the Skin: Wow...it starts out a little...intense as well as smokey, but I like it...Oddly. I want dry down to happen...badly, I want to see how this turns out...will it be as fantastic as it is now? It's so, so crisp but the smokey tones to it make it warm and soooo delicious!!!! Dry Down: Divine. Plain and simple...it's so fresh - which is wierd to say when it still has that smokey smell to it...but it really is. It's so multi-dimensional!!! The lasting power is ok - not the greatest on my skin, but it does stay for a while... Scent Rating: 4/5 - I must get this in a larger bottle Throw: 3/5 - not the strongest thing I've worn - but people within a close range did smell it on me Lasting Power: 2.5/5 - although this didn't stay on my skin long, I still want a bottle... I know a lot of people saw this as an ideal fall scent, but I would seriously wear this ANY time of year....But ot would be the perfect fall perfume.

I recieved this in an imp that I purchased.... In Bottle: Woah....very very sweet, with a very boozey tone to it. It reminds me of summery alcoholic drink I had a few years ago....A very sweet rum mix... It's almost tempting to tilt the vile and drink it Wet On The Skin: Woah, this is like burnt brown sugar - creme brulee, with rum mixed in...I want to lick this...It's just...to die for...wow wow wow... Tons of throw too while wet This excites me just a little too much...It's just, edible and...good..and....*dies* Dry Down: Hmmm...torn. It smells kind of like butter now. Sweetish, buttery type of smell. I don't know if I enjoy this now as much.... The booze note is still there - just...fainter. I don't hate it.... But I must consult with a few to help me figure out how much I like this on me...and whether or not it SMELLS good on me....I'm THAT torn. Well, we have concluded that it smells like popcorn on me now.... Yucka. This one is going in the "did not work for me pile..."...It didn't smell BAD on, but it just does not smell GREAT. I am glad that I didn't get this one in a large bottle. Rating: 2.5 / 5 - over all smell 4 / 5 - throw 4.5 / 5 - lasting power

I got this as a freebee in my last order, and I was excited because I wantd to try it so badly... In the imp vial: Very very sweet, like a candy, or cherry lolli pop....But it was SO good! Almost intoxicating, and something about it was just...naughty and peverse. It brought out all kinds of insane thoughts in my head. Wet on my skin: Cherry blow pop. Exactly like a cherry blow pop, but something underlying was cinnamon, and maybe some orange? Not sure. The more it sat - the more it started to smell like cough syrup....oh no! Dry down: The cough syrup smell didn't get any better sadly. It started to make me feel sick after a while, and I felt like I had spilled some Benalyn on me or something. It just became SO sicky sweet it was revolting, and the cherry went very synthetic. Almost kiddy perfume like. This had pretty good throw - but, honestly I didn't want people to be able to smell me wearing it because it smelled THAT bad on my skin. I wanted to love it, I wanted it to work...but I'm just not that lucky with this one I guess. It has lasting power too - because even when I tried to wash it off - it stuck to my skin. *sighs* My first Bpal to go wrong. Sad day for me.

In the bottle: Wow, a very warm spicey caramel....I can't say that I smell caramel and ONLY caramel in the bottle because there's definitely something underlying that's got a spicey kick to it. Very nice!!! Wet on the skin: Still VERY caramel...but now a slight hint of coconut...VERY slight though...it's almost unnoticable. I detect a slight floral/smokey fragrence - and I'm guessing that's the delphinium and opium? I'm not sure what those things smell like - so I'm just guessing...these two fragrences start to come out more after dry down. Dry down: This has TONS of throw! I think the opium has really come out now, and it toning down that spicey kick that was in the bottle....It's almost floral on my skin after dry down. Sadly this scent does NOT have a lot of lasting power on me.... I put it on first thing this morning when I head out for work - and by noon it was pretty much gone I like it - but I can't say it's a favorite, and oddly on my skin it wasn't foody at all. I give this a 3/5

I boldy bought a large bottle of this after reading everyone's reviews of it - and I am not sad that I did! In the bottle: Woah, very strong - the opium and sandalwood notes just fly out and I find myself wondering if I made a good choice with this impulsive fragrence purchase. After a second sniff, I get a very very slight sweetness - floral though - so the lilly is coming through?? I also get a very very slight wiff of the mandarin that lingers in my nostrils after I smell it. Wet on the skin: The sandalwood comes out a lot stronger, but the vanilla's sweetness really tones it down..it is unfortunate that I can't pick up more of the vanilla though. The lilly of the valley is also a little more intense now, but not unpleasant - I actually find that I'm enjoying that mixed with the sandlewood. Dry down: The mandarin has shown up VERY slightly to give this a very light citrus feel to it, but I do find that the sandalwood, opium and lily of the valley dominate. I really REALLY enjoy wearing this fragrence!!! I think it's beautiful and warm and reminds me of spring time. I just want to cover myself in it. I am sad that there's not a ton of vanilla sweetness to this - but honestly, I don't know if I'd really WANT that sweetness with this blend. as I enjoy it as it is. I find that is has medium throw - not a lot - but I do notice it all day as I wear it - and my mum and nan commented on it after I had it on for about an hour. I think it has great lasting power as well This is going to be a staple BPAL for me!!!

This is the the first BPAL fragrence that I've ever purchased and I am VERY happy with it The description matched it perfectly, and I thought that it was beautiful... In the bottle I smelled a very buttery, and caramel like fragrence...it was strong, and I was a little taken aback and not sure if I would like it on. On my skin, wet...this smokey, pine type scent started to blend it's way through - but I found that the buttery scent was starting to overpower everything and I REALLY got afraid about what this would be like dry. Dry - GORGEOUS! A rich, warm, nutty fragrence took over....all the smells combined and balanced and the staying power was just amazing...it lasted a full work shift (8 hours) and I could still smell it on me as I went to bed. I give this a 5/5!
