Rose Recommendations - which blend is for me?
erin.kogan replied to Nadirah's topic in Recommendations
Rose scents I <3 Harlot: It's my brazen, feminine, in-your-face-woman scent. It's my fishnet and big boots scent, and casts a great impression of both roses and fire. Rose Red: It's my dressy, clean, fresh rose scent. For when I'm dressed like a grown up, and really want that edge of "pretty" without being *super girly* Whip: It goes right up there with Harlot as brazen, but it's rose and leather instead. It's a rich, rich red rose, lying on a sheet of freshly cut leather. The rose is luxury, brought down to earth by the smell of the leather. Peacock Queen: It turns light and almost sweet on me, but it really does start out haughty, really a rose with thorns to go along with the bright red blossom. It transforms into being a bit more girly on me than Rose Red. Delirium: Cute!! Fortunately, the lemon hides for the most on this one (for me) and it's rose and apple and is cute and great to wear with my crazy printed T-shirts. -
lots of juniper and rose out of the vial and while wet, almost a hint of piney-lemon. The chamomile starts to peek through, and then the cypress starts adding a little hint of dry bitterness. As it wears, it's a little too woody for me, and the rose disappears almost completely. I would love to smell this on my guy, but for me, everything with cypress goes very masculine.

All lavender right onto skin, then melds with the musk and the rosewood. I never really see the cherry or rose, but it's fairly pleasant. Would be more so if I really enjoyed lavender, which my skin seems to amp. It's nice, but unfortunately not for me

So much rose! So good!!! It's a fresh, fresh rose, still surrounded by greenery. Someone above said they smelled raspberry in it, and I can almost call it an unripe raspberry smell. Roses on top, rose leaves, and the tart/bitter hint of raspberries that are still white/green. Tons of throw, and just lovely.

*drools and purrs* I got my monsterbait: closet today, and was ever so excited. In the bottle, all I smell is buttercream, but as it hits my wrists, it's vanilla and sweet cream and tart, tart blackberries. I like the berries in Bewitched, but adore them in this. It's a perfect, sun-warmed tart and juicy berry that sits on top of the other flavors. Occasionally, the cocoa peeks out, but it's mostly tart luscious berries.

<3 Simply, <3. Rich fudge, and the warmth of other brownie goodies. Sweeter on me than bliss, and inspired wrist nibbling by friends, unexpectedly

Flirty, for me, is Akuma-blood orange, raspberry and neroli. It's warm, cute, and sweet, but the tangy blood orange makes it less kid-like. Hellcat is also one of those really warm, sweet fragrances, on me it's all honey mead.

A soft, sensual, luxuriant blend with a wicked bite: hazelnut, buttercream, honey mead, rum and sweet almond. I get mostly buttercream when first sniffing this one, but it mellows immediately to honey mead. Honey, honey and more honey!!! A little bit of spice on top of that, but it's warmth and sweetness. Hellcat smells like victory!

So nice... Straight out of the bottle, it's a little bit straight cinnamon, but the almost appear to round it out fairly quickly. It's a warm, spicy, comforting scent that wakes me up.

Such a sad monki I am. I had really been looking forward to this one, but right out of the vial on my skin, it was too lemony. My skin is showing a tendency to totally avoid ginger if there's a citrus to start. The milk started to come through, but the honey never really showed. After about an hour, my wrists started to smell like old milk.

I have to say, Hellcat was well liked by it's most recent male reviewer. He had teased me for feeding my addiction earlier in the day with an order off ebay, sniffed it on my wrists, said it was ok. However, as I left, and he smelled it in my hair and on my neck, he stammered out that I smelled, "really good." Hellcat smells like victory! ~monki -
I was lucky enough to get double-imp'd on this one from some ebay purchases. It wasn't on my top 10 list to order next, but wowee! It's gorgeous. On my skin it's all crisp apple, like a granny smith that's been kept in the fridge, with some smoky flavor underneath, and a hint of that springtime smell right as it starts to rain. Big bottle incoming!

This is the first purchased scent I've tried for a whole day, and I am in luuuv. The strongest impression overall is definitely blood orange, definitely a difference from regular orange, with a stronger tartness. The rasberry really sweetens things, and the neroli rounds it all out. I don't especially see the "devilishness" aside from coworkers threatening to lick my wrists. It's a really warm, invigorating scent, and was the perfect counterpoint to the incredibly dreary day we had today.
