I second the Szepasszony....crisp but aqautic also. Not quite enough bite in the drydown for Autumn, but close. Third. And now that I think of it Rose Red also gives me a chilly feeling.

Sexy, Smutty, Seductive, Provocative... It's All in Here

The suggestions that mentioned that pumpkin and cinnamon are attractive for guys, well at least they are true for my BF, as he likes Samhain the most, and when I wear it he most certainly comes to grab me I guess it depends on the person, though *shrug* -
Best scents for performing, public speaking, anytime on stage

I will second Anne Bonny, I think it would be more suitable than the name might imply at first Also, Darkness. Opium, narcissus & myrrh. A very seductive couple of flowers and the golden warmth of myrrh... -
This is an adorable scent. Calming and peaceful. I bought the bottle unsniffed because I am a Poe nut. And the reviews were very good. So glad I did! It is very light, clean, innocent and pale. Flowery, but not heady at all, these are very modest but very lovely flowers. The sweet pea is there, but doesn't dominate. There is a pale green watery (as in dew) freshness that must be the cucumber. And some other pale flowers I can't tell. The moss and sage must be grounding it a bit, but never getting earthy, and as it dries down, I seem to perceive a more grassy green sweet smell. But it is still very airy and perfectly blended and just beautiful without having to dissect it any more, so I will leave it at this.

Some of these have already been posted: Some GC: Inferno, The Raven, Yggdrasil, Hamadryad, High John the Conqueror. Samhain 05, Snow White 05, Rose Red 05. Blood Rose, a bit blurry, it is sooo pretty though! Some Maelstroms: Usher, Berenice, Ligeia, The Masque. Melpomene and Polyhymnia. Melpomene came in amber vial. Lenore and Khajuraho Yeah those are all my bottles (except Blood Rose and Inferno which are a friend's)

deciduous forest / trees (living trees rather than cut wood): Yggdrasil, this stuff is alive. For a nedle forest I would say Black Forest, but it does seem to add some of the forest inhabitants too, not just the trees. Leanan Shide gets a bit more flowery on dry down, but in the earlier stages it reminds me very much of sweet grass and gentle breezes. I second Rose Red as a very true rose. I get very vivid images of mediterranean cypress (especially a mountain next to were I grew) from Melpomene.

The more femme-fatale scent I have ever tried is Loviatar, and I would also add Darkness and Medea.

This is one of my absolute favorites. Lemon balm (melisa) is one of my favorite herbs. And myrrh, possibly my favorite note. All these noble herbs, the exquisite lemon balm, a hint of wood, and the myrhh giving it a golden shine... exceptional! I can't say much more. I just love it.

Somber violets, violet, mainly, and I cannot tell anything else apart, but there are other things, something that cuts the sweetness, something that gives a bit of green, and that warms it up, but very subtle. Awesome violet! I forgot how much I like it. This is a bottle, for sure. It is on it's way.

Well, I wanted to smell what this leather note was all about... MEH I love this stuff. I love myrrh too, so well, this is an excellent combination. Yes it smells of leather. And other extraordinary stuff. Warm and dark, hmhm, delicious! I just can't explain... In fact, this is what I want a man to smell like, but I don't mind to smell like that, either. I am gonna have to try more scents with leather! As hours pass: woooah, so intoxicating, love the stuff! On my boyfriend: *dies*

On the bottle and wet, I smell something very medicinal, that I can recognise, but I don't remember what it is... can it be camphor? (hey girls, I also got the batch that contains what you call wintergreen it seems ;P) Strong camphor, that fades away after a while, but it is still a strong medicinal smell, and no flowers, cinnamon or nutmeg whatsoever, as some people say. Camphor and wood?? The thing is, after a long while, I love this. Later on I smell the flowers, but so subtle, and wood, and it is lovely, perfect, a Hamadryad. Two hours later: too good. I don't care to wait 15 minutes for the camphor to dissapear. Bottle!

I bet there is some coconut in this o_O or is that familiar smell almond? The scent is pretty faint... light, pure, but I preceive a hint of smoke in the beginning. Now I can smell the vanilla. But it is vanilla in a cake, not fake perfume vanilla. It is very innocent and pure. Creamy vanilla and almond. Well, I really like it. It is not something I would think I would like if I would read some of the components (coconut & vanilla) but it is so soft that I really like it, it is elegant and innocent, it is charming. It is a great interpretation on the subject. It has a good throw, it is very long lasting (+8 hours now, still there) it is creamy, conforting, yes white. I really like it, I am not gonna hunt a bottle, but I will surely get one if it is re-released next christmas. Note: next day there are still traces! Another note, weeks later: Damn! I utterly fell in love with it, slowly, but surely. Now this is a great surprise for me, as I would never have picked this perfume if I would have read the reviews beforehand. It is creamy yes, but in a soft and subtle way I wouldn't imagine possible. I hunted a bottle down, and I am so glad I did!

I don't have much to say about this one... I mostly smell the rose and other flowers, wih a deeper warm background, that must be my beloved myrrh, but it is not enough to make me fall in love with it... It is beautiful, certainly, perhaps a bit too flowery on me. It goes a bit baby powder after a while. I will probably use the imp, but I think that is all...

The stuff dyes my skin red! well, orange. I am not a lover of Dragon's Blood... Luckly, I smell mostly spices, with an earthy undertone, and a far away sweetness, that must be the dragon's blood... but it is not unpleasing. On me it seems pretty balanced. None of the parts come out much more than the others. I seem to perceive some itchiness on my wrists, will that be in my head? I didn't have any reaction to inferno... later on it dissapears. All in all, it surprised me positively. But it is just not me...

On the imp I smell sweet wet flowers. On, sweet flowers. And a gritty undertone. The thing is very strong, and a bit old lady. It changes, it becomes dark green and nicer, and I quite like it, but not for a bottle. Later on: I smell mainly roses now o_O

Reading the reviews, most people seem to hate it and is scared by it. Well, I have to try it now, let's see if I hate it too. But a very very little amount will be ;P Wet, it smells of patchouli or sandalwood to me. Somewhat smoky. As it starts to dry down, I perceive the hated civet. Ok, it smells like goats and horses, hehehe. It is somewhat funny in fact. But the smell is not too strong. I put little, but it doesn't strike me as one of the strong scents. It is very warm too. Well, it is somewhat sweaty, animalic, smoky, musky, very warm and wild. And it is cat pee on my boyfriend, lol. Very interesting, in fact. Captures the concept greatly.

In the imp it smells of voluptuous red roses. Not pink, not innocent. It is just rose, but on me, this has a sharp and acrid undertone, like a green note but strange, much different than form the vial. My skin seems to swallow it. It smells a bit weird. After a while, I smell a bit more, but seems to turn powdery. I think that, for some reason, this is an unsuccesful rose scent on me... sadly.

Wet is smells flowery/woodsy, it has a sweet component, but it is kept in place by the woodsiness. The incense and myrrh are subtle, but gound it nicely. A very nice floral in fact. They are a mature womanly kind of flowers, sweet in the beginning, but in a dont-fuck-with-me way. If that makes any sense. Later: as it dries down, I like it more and more. When I smell my wrist, I get a veyr lovely myrrh and cypress, as the flowers have vanished in great measure. I like it MUCH more, and I would consider a bottle when the budget allows. Adding it to the list...

Wet it is nothing I expected. Sharp, like a sharp wood. But, in fact, if I look at the description, it is sandalwood and patchouli, and those are woods. I have been stupidly afraid of this scent, leaving it there for ages before testing it... as I type the scent comes to my nose and I really like it. A deep, wasted by use, rich wood, that would remind me much of a chest in fact. With a smoky something, that must be the frankincense... Super warm, but beautiful, hmhmh, I am so glad I have two imps! This is great. I find myself liking darker eastern woods and incenses more and more, something I didn't expect, but that I am enjoying so much. Nothing to do with those horrible old lady scents of commercial perfumes! This is great stuff. Waah, I like it more every moment it passes!

Oh my, myrrh. I think I am gonna have to test every scent that has myrrh... and something sharper, in a flowery way, and something woody and dark green, as I like it. Yes, the background is a bit bittersweet, but it is excellent with the myrrh. I love this, as I knew I would, given the notes... hmh! It is just soooo lovely. I am just readig about cajeput, which I didn't know. It is of the family of the melaleucas, and said to have a medicinal/camphor aroma. This must be what makes the scent more bitter, but it is a top note that should fade quickly. It is nicely blended though, and doesn't come out too much. And yes after some time it fades. I like this scent so much through all it's stages. It is possibly gonna be my staple! I definitely need a bottle

Hmh, flowers, some rose, pretty sweet in fact, a bit girly. I don't get the myrrh yet, though, but it is still wet. I get some acid smell now, as it dries. Green and sharp like leaves. Some minutes after, it mellows, the myrrh appears (lovely!) and I like it much more. It is still pretty flowery and girly, very pale pink/white. I seem to recognize the stephanotis that seems to smell a bit like jasmine (or is it ylang ylang?) the roses have blended with the rest and I can't appreciate the note anymore. It is pretty nice, but still now and then I get this sour smell... I think something in here doesn't like my skin... Many hours later: I have to reconsider. The myrrh comes out to dance, as it always does with me, and it is lovely. I don't feel a terrible urge to get a bottle right now, but it certainly goes into the list! I have tried it several times afterwards, and I didn't get that kind of sour smell again... muct have been weird chemistry of the day.

Hmh, I recognise the carnation for the first time in this perfume. It is somewhat acid, or astringent, I don't know how to explain. I don't get the musk in the beginning. I think my skin swallows this scent... No lemon either... Later on, it un-sweetens. I would swear I smell some kind of wood, but it is not supposed to have this. Maybe it is the mix of carnation and white musk? hm. I don't get the honeysuckle, which I like... hmp I applied more to see what happens. But it is definitely very subtle on my skin, I have to sniff my wrist to catch anything... Some hours later: it seems to go powdery, not in a bad way, but also not in a good way.

Kind of old topic, but I hope this is the right place to ask this. As it happens with the search of this forum, searches of less than 4 letters don't seem to work. This is a pity because I want to know which scents have rum ;P Is there any possibility to get the limit lowered?

In the imp it is foul candy, so synthetic smelling... I am not a fan of fruit scents at all... On the skin though, I mainly smell rose, pink fresh rose, not heady, girly. As minutes pase, it changes, and I smell something else, more sweet, but not cloying, not pomegranates though. It is nice, but I don't think it is me... it reminds me of something... Got it! I know what it smells like. It is like those indian rose beverages. Rose with some sugar, or some kind of sweetener. Well, I don't think I want to smell like this, even if the drink is ok. But I have to admitt that this scent is pretty nice. I think I will keep the imp. ADDED May 16: In the imp it is foul candy, so synthetic smelling. On the skin though, I mainly smell rose. Very elegant, even more elegant than Usher, polite, contained, austere, intelligent, tasteful, like a perfectly dressed lady with an elegant updo and an inquisitive look in her eyes. It reminds me more of the character of Ligeia though! And beautiful too, an understated kind of beauty... hmh, I really, really like it, and I will be getting a bottle.
