Heh, my review was eaten in the Great Forum Outage of 2006, so I'll try to recapture all the contempt I had for this scent. There is definitely a soft scent of apricot, but it was smothered by this awful cigarette smoke smell (Mr. CG said it smelled like dirt). I gave it half an hour, just to see if it would evolve or change at all. Nope. I washed it off with Coalface but I could stll smell the cigarette smoke. I took a shower. Still there. I scrubbed my wrists with rubbing alcohol. Better, but still there. Conclusion: this scent, along with Twinkies and cockroaches, will survive the apocalypse. Too bad I can't stand the smell of it.

This was my first BPAL imp, gifted to me by a dear friend. I hadn't read the description so I had no idea what it was supposed to smell like. All I could smell was sweet (but not cloying), soft roses. Not old lady perfume as some rose scents can smell, but a lovely girlish rose scent that wafts gently about creating a fluffy pink cloud. I was surprised when I finally read the BPAL description because I didn't detect the apple blossom, honey, or ylang ylang. Very nice, but not for me.

Based on the description, I thought this would be the perfect scent for chocoholic like me! In the bottle, it's a lovely rich dark chocolate scent. On my skin, it was a bit less chocolatey but still good. After about an hour, the chocolate was gone and I was left with a spicy cinnamon scent.

I love chocolate and I love sandalwood, so I thought this would be perfect for me. Instead I got a strange orange chocolate scent (which I hate). When Mr. CG was called over to sniff me, he said I smelled like an old lady. Yowza!

I got the tiniest hint of the White Out smell too when I sniffed from the bottle. It was hiding in the background, but my overall first impression was sweet and happy. On my skin, I got a very strong almond/fruity bubblegum smell. After about an hour, it faded a lot but the scent didn't morph into anything else - still almond extract with a dose of Juicy Fruit.

This smelled sweetly pink and slightly fruity in the bottle, but on my skin it turned into this generically spicy/soapy combination that reminded me of walking into Bath & Body Works. After about half an hour, it softened quite a bit and the florals came out , but I was waiting for the strawberry to make its appearance. After about an hour, it settled into its long term smell which was a soft, sweet (but faint and still somewhat generic B&BW) floral. Nice but not outstanding. I think most of my disappointment in this stemmed from my high expectations. I probably would have liked it more if I hadn't been expecting a sparkly fruity strawberry scent.

I was afraid that this would be a little too minty, especially after taking a whiff from the bottle, but on my skin it is the perfect balance of sweet vanilla with a touch of minty freshness. Not a strong bracing Altoids type mint that brings to mind the York Peppermint Patty commercials, but just enough mint for some trigeminal stimulation.

Mmmmmm! Sweet and yummy without being overwhelming, Midway lives up to its description, evoking memories of walking through the delicious food section at the fair. On my skin, it smells almost exactly as it does in the bottle. The most noticeable note to me is the caramel which gives it a smooth creamy scent. Definitely a keeper!

I was so excited about Beaver Moon because I usually love foodie scents. In the bottle, it was all I'd hoped it would be: sweet cheesecake with a spicy bite (Mr. CG said it smelled like gingerbread). On my skin, though, it turned into a strong cloying vanilla that gave me an instant headache. My body chemistry turned it into one of those generic vanilla lotions from the mall. Ugh. I wanted to keep the bottle just so I could admire the artwork and sniff the scent without putting it on, but I decided that was too selfish as it would be much more appreciated by someone who could actually wear it.
