... An incense blend that invokes the higher qualities of mercy and compassion, mingled with the soft, sugared currant scent of offertory soul cakes. 2014 decant: wet, it goes on as described incense with cake. As it dries, the incense takes over. It amps on me for some reason and is very pretty. Some incense makes me sneeze but this one doesn't. I may end up getting a bottle of this!

Fermented apple juice, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, clove, lemon zest, butterscotch liquor, and orange slices. From a decant, 2014 version: starts off very apple-y, then the orange and spices kick in. It dries down to a lovely soft cider scent. Reminds me a bit of Punkie Night, but not quite so in-your-face. Will make due with my decant, though, as Punkie Night is about all the cider I can handle.

From a decant: It goes on almost all cinnamon, then dries down to a mixture of cinnamon and ginger. It's okay, but not for me.

Pure, sweet peach with just a touch of sugar. Really light and fresh.

Mother Shub's Unmentionable Peppermint Creams
reynardine replied to pinkstardust420's topic in Yules
Didn't get any marzipan at all. This is a very pleasant, light peppermint. Less intense than the Lick It series, but also doesn't last as long. I like it, but will just use up my decant. -
Wasn't sure how this one would work on me: I do well with BPAL's chocolate scent, but usually coffee goes very, very bitter on me. This one is very much a winner! Hot chocolate with cinnamon and just a touch of mocha in the background. Definitely getting a bottle of this before it goes down!

In the decant, this smelled AMAZING. It kinda reminded me of Left His Nurse in a Crowd for some reason? I didn't get any mint from it, but did smell the butter and cookie. When first applied, there was this weird plastic phase, but within a few minutes it went to butter cookie. Maybe a tiny touch of pomegranate? I'll definitely use up the decant but don't love this enough for a bottle. I think the butter is what doesn't work for me.

Finally got my decant. Starts out very heavy ginger, which I'm not that keen on, then softens into gingery Snake Oil. I was surprised at how quickly it faded. It's okay, but not something I'd get a bottle of.

Black Pomegranate and Blackcurrant Atmosphere Spray
reynardine replied to Dark Alice's topic in Atmosphere
Wow, this is fruity goodness! Not too "bright" but rich fruit. Really nice! -
2013 version. Wasn't sure what to expect. From the bottle, it seemed like a rather generic "outdoor" scent, but once it hit my skin it blossomed into minty snow pine needles!

izile, sorry it took so long to reply! I uploaded what I have so far on google.docs over here. The BPAL is up to date through the We Love Fine scents (and includes the Yule updates), but I'm still catching up with the Trading Posts' updates, so those aren't current yet. I don't have all the discontinued dates yet either--it takes a while to go through the old announcements!

A very buttery pumpkin scent, much like Jack. But Jack didn't work on me and this one is lovely. As it dries down, the beeswax comes out and a touch of cinnamon. It's nice and light, and smells like autumn.

Izile Thank you so much for your update! I still use a spreadsheet since I'm used to that, so your work is very appreciated! btw, I'm updating the old spreadsheet from Hackness/Sunlitgarden's one. I pasted Izile's updates and got it updated through the 2013 Yule Update. I still need to go through the BPTP updates and TALs and make sure those are current. Will post it once that's done.

I wasn't sure if this would work on me, as Snake Oil is a scent I want to love but can't. Still, pumpkin does wonders on me and I wanted to see if that would finally produce a Snake blend that I could wear. Upon applications, it was mainly Snake Oil with a touch of pumpkin, but after a few minutes, the pumpkin really came out to play, to augment but not overcome the Snake Oil. And now it is just so pretty--I keep sniffing my wrist, and The Man loves the spices. I don't find this foody at all, but more spices. Very much love! Will have to get some backup bottles before it goes down!

Hits me at first as straight pumpkin, which I don't mind because I love pumpkin. Dries down to a pumpkin buttercream. Another pumpkin favorite!

A friend picked one up for me from DragonCon. Got no peaches from this at all, but a lovely fresh grass with some flowers. It really smells like summertime! Very refreshing!
-
Very delightful! Apples with just a touch of woods beneath it, but it's mainly bright apples. A new favorite!
-
This is lovely. Almost too-sweet with a touch of strawberry cream. Perfect in the bottle. A bit of pixie-stix like on the skin, but I adore it! I think it will be wonderful in the summer!

Wow, fruity goodness! More of a throw than the other bath oils I have tried. After using this, I pick out a really fruity scent (like Shango or Yemaya) to wear and the result is pure magic.
-
Marshmallow Pumpkin was one of my favorites of last year's Halloweenies, and this bath oil smells exactly the same. Lighter throw.

I wasn't sure about this one at first, but after trying it for a few days, I'm hooked. Sugar usually works well with my skin chemistry, so it's pure win. Leaves a nice light scent that lasts all day! I didn't get booze or burnt out of this at all: just pure sugar.

Wow, this one is a morpher. First, there is this apple and spices, with a touch of chocolate and coffee. The apple and coffee and spices stick around. Mainly getting coffee? Too rich for warm weather, but in the really cold air, it's lovely.
-
Can't believe I haven't review this yet! It's very evocative of the Mississippi River (we live right by it, although much further north!), but the magnolia and moss is pure south. It's such a lovely, soft, green scent. Perfect for autumn. Love it!

I get apple cider at first, then a blast of cinnamon. Very bright. A bit too much for hot weather, but in the cool temperatures it works really well. And surprisingly apt for the Yule season too! My husband has declared this scent his new favorite and stolen one of my bottles from me for his office. I should have ordered more! (Edit: Ha, glad I checked. It's still up. Ordered some more. My husband rarely raves about how much he likes a scent--he REALLY LOVES this stuff!)

I liked the first whiff of this: piney with a touch of light flowers. But then something triggered the allergies, so I'll pass my tester onto someone else!
