    Death of the Grave Digger

Most of the snow scents absolutely don't work on me and I still haven't made up my mind about opoponax, but let's try it! In the bottle: agh horribly sharp. No idea of what it is, but it doesn't agree with my nose! On my skin: the usual bathroom scent I get from "snow". It's pine, I suppose. There's soil too. And as much as soil may be comforting to smell in a forest, I don't want to smell like that myself. After a couple of hours: it gets more and more earthy. But I can't get rid of this toilet-cleaner scent. Verdict: one more Salon absolutely horrible on me.

    Carceri d'Invenzione

In the bottle: I like it! But I don't really recognize anything… it's not at all what I was expecting from the notes listed. It's kinda sweet and not as fiery as what I'd have thought. On my skin: well, it's floral… it shouldn't be, should it? And I even have a kind of a bubblegum feeling out of it. Maybe some incense but no pepper or tobacco AT ALL. After a couple of hours: it gets sweeter and sweeter, and all I recognize is incense. It's weird, I have no wood, no pepper, and I seem to be the only one with such weird skin chemistry! Verdict: I don't know. It's okay but I'm not too enthusiastic.

    Bat-Woman

In the bottle: this is quite lovely… lots of flowers. I recognize moonflower and honeysuckle and I like them. On my skin: mmm, the flowers get a little soapy. It's a very light scent, I can hardly smell it, to be honest. After a couple of hours: it gets stronger in the drydown phase, but it's still okay. No jasmine at all, which is very good to me. Lavender grows more and more. Verdict: a very pretty floral, but I don't need it.

    Sleepy Moon

In the bottle: honestly, it smells like soap. I can't isolate any note, except maybe lavender if I try very hard. On my skin: all soapy. Lavender and bamboo can be recognized but above all, it's soap. After a couple of hours: it gets incensey and spicey. Not bad but nothing extraordinary. Verdict: swap.

    Johnathan Harker

In the bottle: lavender and verbena. Very fresh, very masculine too. On my skin: mostly verbena. I think there's iris too, and still lavender. After a couple of hours: now I get the tea. It's quite strong for a (white) tea scent. Less masculine on me than in the bottle. On me, it's perfectly gender neutral. Verdict: it's very citrussy so of course, I'm in love. It must be perfect for the summer. And I guess it could be an excellent "going to bed" (to sleep, I mean ) scent as well.

    Lucy Westenra

In the bottle: first rose, then orange… and tons of other things I don't identify. On my skin: mostly blood orange with some light florals in the background. Wow, I think I like this. After a couple of hours: it fades quite quickly and only leaves me with some white musk. It doesn't matter, I'll reapply And... no jasmine, at all Verdict: my favourite Order of the Dragon so far!

    Cockaigne

In the bottle: it's very, very sweet. Like a cake with some liqueur inside. It's very pleasant but I'm afraid it gonna smell like burnt plastic on me. On my skin: still cake. There's a tiny hint of burnt but nothing to do like the old burnt tyres I got from Red Lantern for example. It makes me think of my grandmother's pound cake as she likes to overcook them, just a little. I smell milk too (I wish it was stronger... ah, beloved Milk Moon, where art thou!). And some honey. But no wine at all (and I'm glad). After a couple of hours: burnt, burnt, burnt. Nothing as bad as Red Lantern or Gluttony but still. Verdict:

    Pumpkin Queen

In the bottle: warm butter and orange. It brings me lovely memories of my mum cooking for Christmas and St-Nicolas. On my skin: butter and pumpkin with some orange. Like an orange Jack, I'd say. And guess what? It doesn't burn! I suspect it's the citrus that keeps it from burning... (smelling like burnt plastic, I mean). After a couple of hours: the butter dries down and I have cardamom and some other spices (cinnamon?) now! Verdict: NEED. 10. BOTTLES. AT LEAST. (It was totally worth the waiting and keeping all our orders in hostage!).

    Creepy

In the bottle: absolutely delicious & delightful caramel. Which probably means burnt plastic on me Creamy, and I can smell rum too. I want it to work! On my skin: hello, burnt plastic *cries* After a couple of hours: most of the burnt is gone, and now I have a lovely rum and apples scent (still a little creamy). But it's very faint and I have to endure 2 1/2 hours of migraine-inducing burnt first. Verdict: why, oh why, isn't there one single foody scent working for me?
  10. Emma2403

    Samhainophobia

In the bottle: oh god, patchouli AND vetiver, my worst nightmare coming true. On my skin: "real men"-aftershave (that's the vetiver for you). After a couple of hours: "even more real men"-aftershave. It evokes images of 50-something guys wearing suits and ties, tired after hours of office work, and... okay, not my thing Verdict: if you have a "real man" sowhere near you, please try it on on him. But not for me.

    Punkie Night

In the bottle: apples, apples, apples, but a kind of chemical apples, not the extremely natural scent like in PP1. On my skin: turns to 100% chemical apples. After a couple of hours: nothing much left, just some spiciness maybe. Verdict: I'm so disappointed, I had high expectations about this one. I nearly ordered a bottle only based on the description... I still want to try it as a roomscent before giving up totally. But the real apple/cider scent remains PP1 for me.

    Jailbait

In the bottle: ooh, cherry bubblegum, totally! I didn't think it was possible! On my skin: I get almonds there. And then, lots of cherries too. After a couple of hours: the bubblegum sticks to my skin. Sometimes, it even gets a little medicinal (cough syrup-like), but it's mostly pink bubblegum. Verdict: very girlie, funny and entertaining, but not exactly my thing for everyday-wear.

    Two, Five & Seven

I'm not a rose fan but I got this one for my mum who adores roses. In the bottle: powerful roses with a distinctive wet green scent. On my skin: roses, roses, roses. I suppose it might be very beautiful when you're really into rose scents. After a couple of hours: it smells like dried roses in potpourri. Very heady. Verdict: too strong for me. I can like some roses like in Moon Rose, or Tarot: the Empress, but here I reached my limits. But I'm sure rose lovers will be in roses paradise with this scent.

    Silence

In the bottle: ripe peach, plus delicate moonflower and some plum. It's gorgeous so far. I don't get overexcited though because of all the disasters I've encountered with Salon scents. On my skin: it gets lighter, white peach and moonflower, mostly. But there's more. It's hard to describe it. There's some tea, I think, and also something woody and maybe even some coconut (a hint). It's subtle and delicate. It really fits its name too. After a couple of hours: light flowers and the faintest remains of tea. It's discreet, doesn't show off and I like it this way. I was expecting a light blue scent, but it's light peach with lots of white dots. Verdict: the only Salon winner, but what a winner! It's really beautiful in a very subtle and tantalizing way. A bottle would be very welcome (also because of the lovely label).

    Chrysanthemum Moon

Her scent is bewitching, almost intoxicating: a sensual incense of crushed mums, red ginger, and pulsing musk … and the air is thick with leaden brown opium smoke that hangs thickly over a seductive mixture of red musk, body-warmed perfume, and hypnotic Eastern flowers. In the bottle: wow, that's strong. And quite complex. I recognize musk and well indeed heavy chrysanthemums. On my skin: applied carefully, because I don't like it at all in the bottle. Wow, it gets all resinous. But seriously, this kind of sticky stinking resin you can find on unfriendly trees. Can you say I don't share the general "wowing" about this one? There's ginger too. After a couple of hours: it stays very heady, and it gets even more complex. There's opium, and musk is coming back. I still don't like it at all. Verdict: no. It really makes me think of something dangerously poisonous in the forest

    The Music of Erich Zahn

Okay, I have no idea what ajowan and tamarind smell like. And to be honest, I'm not all too familiar with opoponax either. In the bottle: lots of musk, something a little bit sweet that could be mimosa and a hint of dirt. On my skin: sweet incense and still musk. It's much more complicated than this... at times, I get pencil shavings, at times I get... mmm... something that makes me think of a sweaty armpit. And for any reason, I still don't get the urge to wash it off. After a while: okay, it really gets more and more nauseating by the minute. It's still muskey but there are loads of other things I cannot recognize... something a bit almondish. Plus the dreaded vetiver is finally back with a vengeance. Verdict: obviously not for me, but still an interesting scent. Very earthy, so if it's your style, go ahead!

    Libertine

In the bottle: rose (not rosewood, rose!) immediatly followed by violet. I say "wow"! On my skin: violet mostly, and also bergamot (the rose scent disappeared). It's light, sweet and delicate. You know what? I like it! After a couple of hours: delicate and sophisticated. A lovely purpled-rose colour! Violet, bergamot, camomile and rose (rose's not listed but I swear it's there!). Verdict: I'm very tempted to get a big bottle
  18. Emma2403

    Paris

In the bottle: lavender and lotus. On my skin: mostly lavender, but the lotus makes it feel somehow bubble-gumesque. And I can smell the spices as well if I try really hard. After a couple of hours: spices are stronger (I'd say cinammon), but there's still lotus and lavender. Verdict: I don't know. I don't think I really like the lotus/lavender mix... it has something sickening (that's lotus, I'd say). I guess I'll swap it.
  19. Emma2403

    Penitence

In the bottle: incense and sandalwood. Interesting. On my skin: spicy... black pepper or something. And some dirt as well. After a couple of hours: nothing's changed. Spicy incense + sandalwood. Verdict: not for me. My favourite incense-scent remains Cathedral by far.
  20. Emma2403

The Fox-Woman Kuzunoha Leaving Her Child

In the bottle: light floral. Mostly jasmine, damned!! On my skin: even more jasmine, of course!! No tea, no cherry blossom, nothing but jasmine!! After a couple of hours: jasmine single note... *makes face* Verdict: no!
  21. Emma2403

    White Moon

In the bottle: lilac. Lovely. I'm not used to lilac in Bpal scents, so that's very welcome. On my skin: lilac and lilies. Very elegant. It has something green as well, but I'm unable to figure out what exactly. After a couple of hours: a very soft lilac… it's white indeed with a touch of light purple (erm well, lilac, I mean). The green has totally vanished. Verdict: it's a very peaceful scent (and elegant as I said before). I was hoping for more violets though. I have to try it once more before deciding whether I keep it or not

    Dance of Death

It's a frimp. I would never have ordered this out of the notes listed because I don't like patchouli, and black musk may play tricks with my skin chemistry as well. In the bottle: wow, that's strong! LOTS of musk and then patchouli. Dark scent for sure. On my skin: applied very carefully because it was so fiery in the vial… well, it's pretty much the same. Prominent musk accompanied by patchouli. Not bad, but well, any hippie perfume smelled like that. (I don't get the earthy note at all). After a couple of hours: pure patchouli, yuk. Verdict: not for me.
  23. Emma2403

    Le Serpent Qui Danse

In the bottle: violets, mmmm lovely violets. Me likes! On my skin: violets and something else, something less sweet, maybe gardenia but I'm not too familiar with the smell of gardenia so I couldn't be sure. After a couple of hours: there's something annoying under the violet. Something green and a little astringent. But I can't really say what it is. The violet stays prominent but this other note makes it less perfect than Ultraviolet, for example. Verdict: very nice (violets always are!) but not the perfect one for me.
  24. Emma2403

    Dragon's Musk

In the bottle: lovely musk. Lighter than most of the dragon's blood scents. On my skin: wow it's blood red… I look like I'm wounded. It smells nice… it makes me think of snake charmer somehow. A less spicy snake charmer. Very nice. After a couple of hours: spicey, nice… very similar to Snake Charmer in the drydown phase. Verdict: my favourite dragon's blood scent for sure!
  25. Emma2403

    Bathsheba

In the bottle: wow nearly pure plum. I never had another Bpal smelling plum as much as this. There's something muskey in the background too. On my skin: plum, plum, plum... my skin seems to amp it and I don't get anything else. It's very ripe, terribly juicy. After a couple of hours: the plum gets less sweet and it lets place to musk (and possibly carnation, but I'm not sure I'd recognize carnation). Verdict: summer scent for me. I'll keep the imp (or not) but I don't need a full bottle... on the other hand, if you're really into plums, you will LOVE this one. It's rich and... yeah, summerish.
