    The Isles of Demons

I had to try this twice, because I could not believe what I was smelling. I don't smell volcanoes, or lush jungle...just a sort of thin, sweet perfumed soap smell. Not bad, but not great either. Sigh.

    Malice

It's a really nice, balanced blend...a light floral, myrrh, are perfectly balanced with the patchouli and the deeper spices. It has little throw, but it's still sexy and spicy, just mellow. I like it.

    Regan

It's so sweet going on I think I'm going to love it. And then...flower powder. And what I assume is stephanotis..that I like. Too bad vanilla orchid does not like me.

    Urd

At first, it smells sweet and spicy, like some kind of great wine. Then it dries into wine incense with a patchouli note that just seems very off. It's okay, but not as balanced as I'd like.

    Alice

Alice smells like lemon-powdery nothing on me...there's something floral, but then the whole scent fades away almost immediately. Hours later I can smell...rose powder, very faint. This scent does nothing for me...how disappointing.

    Sloth

Another vetiver blend bites the dust. Sometimes they work on me, and sometimes they turn into gasoline pits o' grossness. Yup, you can guess where this fits on the spectrum. Gas, pit, gross. Must go wash it off now.

    Ile de la Tortue

A sweet, intense yet light floral. Gorgeous, layered florals, like a dense flower jungle. It fades far too quickly, but while it's there, it's nice.

    Whitechapel

This smells like mildewed fabric on me. None of these notes usually go unpleasantly sour on my skin, so I guess they just don't play well together. This is quite disgusting!

    Anubis

Whoa, how can a scent be this sexy and this mellow at the same time? It smells like freshly ground stems and light cinnamon, incense and something like bread. I know none of that sounds particularly sexy, but it is. I can see this smelling just as good on a man as it does on me. Mmmmm...

    Oblivion

"Say goodbye to all this...and hello to oblivion." A sexy, somber, sleeping scent. Deep without being too spicy, and just a touch of woodsy, earthy smoke. Very light musk...so nice.

    Desire

Sweetness with a hint of apple and an undercurrent of spice. So sexy, so lovely.

    Love's Torments

"Torments" is the operative word here. The vetiver kicks all the other notes down and grinds them into dust. It's the vetiver show! Starring vetiver, and featuring a very special guest, vetiver. Yeah, this one's for the vetiver fans. I can't even smell any of the other notes.

    Manhattan

Perfectly balanced citrus-floral-tea...delicious, elegant, and summery.

    Santa Eularia Des Riu

Piquant citrus tempered by jasmine, soft Mediterranean herbs, lavender and orange blossom. All I can smell is lavender and citrus, and something herbal that tickles my nose. It's pleasant enough, but nothing special.

    Bordello

It smells like ripe, aphrodisac fruit, and a rich, rich wine. The fruit is very sweet, almost like a hard candy. I like this scent, it's very fun.

    Strangler Fig

Fig smells bizarre on me...kinda like a sweet nutbread, but vaguely unpleasant. However, it kind of works with this scent. The fresh green stem scent is nicely tempered by the fig, but then the fig seems to take over. This is an interesting scent, but it's not really me.

    Juke Joint

    Alcoholic thin mints.

    Schrodinger's Cat

This is predominantly sweet citrus, but the lavender is astringent and who knows what that zdravetz is doing. Not a hint of chocolate, but the mint is a kick. Medicinal candy, or Ricola cough drops. Almost really nice, but just kinda off. It's a shame .

    Beltane 2008

In the bottle, I was thinking "delicious herbal goodness"! It smells like a magic shop, herbal and powerful. And on, it smells like...licorice? Yuck. But then something sweet and floral comes out (rose?). And it's licorice, rose, and something kind of plasticky. And then (thankfully) the plastic recedes. This is the everlasting gobstopper of herbal-plant scents. I THINK I like it .

    April Fool

Wet: Green herbs and citrus. I smell like a perfume version of a fish seasoning. Dry: Everything calms down a bit, and a sweetness comes out and tempers the harshness of the herbs and citrus. Really light and pretty!

    Worm Moon 2008

First sniff: a mixture of "Ewww, am I really going to put this on?" and hearing Christina Aguilera say "Dirt-y!" from that song a few years ago. This scent is very dirt-y. On, it's got a strangely pleasant moldy-dirtiness to it, of potting with wet earth. It reminds me of the earth note from Possets' Cambienne. And I put it near the spot on my hand that has Hexennacht, and it smells FANtastic. I hope this will become a GC someday, because it would be one Hell of a layering note. I can't believe this is so great!

    Hexennacht (2008)

Sexy forest naked dancing scent! Hot! Evergreen-woodsy! Piney without being Pine Sol...it's true pine, like you're in a forest being all sylvan all over the place. Really spectacular on and in the bottle.

    Phoenix Steamworks

This smells so sweet and mellow on me...it is a surprisingly relaxing blend. There's a hint of metal, but it's certainly not the dominant scent. Very nice.

    Moai

There are times when one smells a certain fragrance and must soldier on despite the fact that it's incredibly repugnant. THIS is one of those times. It smells like some kind of "take the rust off your car" moonshine and smoke out of the bottle. And on, OH MY GOD, nausea or headache, which will overtake me first? This is Troll on vacation. No need to come home, Troll. However, once it's dry, it's not bad. It's kind of a dusty-earth note. I just tried layering it with Te Po, and it really tempers the sweetness and adds an incensey layer to Te Po that's actually appealing. I'll have to experiment more with the layering...if I can brave the drydown again. Ugh.

    Rangoon Riptide

This is the same spiced warm drink-rum from Upa Upa. Oddly enough this is much less fruity...it reminds me of the Bigelow Orange tea, spicy and containing fruit, but not really fruity. This seems like a fall scent to me. Aaaaand after 10 minutes it's gone. Sigh.
