I wore it last night and loved it...it smells like fruity, musky tea...and not only does it have just the right throw, it lasted for hours! A lovely blend.
-
It smells like those dried desert rose stones...rose normally loves me, but I think the violet in this one is glomming onto it and making it rowdy and misbehavin'. And I just took a big whiff trying to determine if I liked this enough for a bottle, and it made me sneeze. It really packs a throw! I think I may have to get it, just because it's such a unique rose, and I've been so into rose lately. WOW, I cannot believe I am getting a violet scent. I'm glad I tried this!

Thanks to a "mix and match" decant circle, I got to try this. Yay! I was scared of the violet (although some of my favorites have violet in them, i.e. Wanda, violet is usually the floral kiss of death on me), but still wanted to try it. And...it starts out like this shrieking hiss of VIOLET (think the "feedback" part where Beth Gibbons is kind of screaming in the Portishead song Only You), and fades to a kinda nice, narcissus-y lavender blend. And it's okay, but not worth the first few minutes.

This smells strong and spicy, but there's also something light and uplifting about it, almost wintergreen-minty. I was lucky enough to smell Stress Relief Elixir at a MnS recently, and it reminds me of that for some reason. It's just bracing, yet extremely refreshing. So nice!

In the bottle, it's bracing and green smelling. On...oh my God...CEDAR, CEDAR, CEDAR. I smell like a damn rabbit cage. Ugh. Get it off, get it off!

Sweet, and subtly spicy. A bit incensey. Almost aquatic, but earthier than that. A balanced, gentle blend, but with a great throw.
-
One to Tie, Two to Win, you have come back to me! But with more throw, and even lovelier. Love, love, love.

How can something called "The Flower Song" smell THIS much like Fruit Stripe gum? Not a bad smell, but nothing I would choose to smell like.
-
This scent is intoxicating...the sweetness of apple blossom is buoyed by the sparkling champagne grape...this scent is crystalline, sexy, and sweet. A winning combination.
-
It smells okay, but there's something off there that just ruins the blend on my skin, like a note falling flat. It just smells kind of blah...sort of a stale laundry smell. Sigh. It doesn't smell bad...it just doesn't smell particularly good.

This is FAB-U-LOUS! It's floral, but a bit green, a bit spicy...it's sexy, sassy, and feminine but not girly. LOVE IT (can you tell), and I will have to get a bottle.
-
It smells nice at first, but there's some note in it that turns to perfumed rubber on me. In the bottle it's nice, but not so much on me. Sigh.

This smells all balsalmy, like clean, warm shampoo. It reminds me of Flex and Breck, two of my shower staples from the 80s. I have to admit, I really like this!

Ebisu Making Love As Two Octopuses Look On
savage_rose replied to phantasmmysteria's topic in Lupercalia
It smelled pretty obnoxious when I first put it on (what is up with my skin tonight?), but it dried to a woodsy, fruity scent that's nice if not as spectacular as I was hoping it would be. It's ok. -
On most blends, patchouli is a delightful accent notes. On certain blends like Fire of Love and this one, it's not. I smell like a hippie who's been smoking...pepper. EW. Thank God it's fading, because I'm not sure even soap can get out what was there.
-
It smells sweet enough, but too sweet/rich like a generic brand "toffee candy", like a knock-off Werther's. I tend to like foody scents, but this one's a little nauseating on me. Ew.

The Dream of the Fisherman's Wife

This is the craziest, morphingest scent I think I've ever tried. First it smells clean, fresh, a little ozoney. Then...it becomes laundry soap. Lady of Shallott-eqsue laundry soap, dry, dusty, and crystalline faux-floral. Then this sort of sexy spiciness starts peeking through...so it's basically crazy dorm laundry room sex, all sexy danger and laundry soap and many, many washers and dryers spinning as one. Insane! -
Tea and Asian flowers...this scent is just effervescent. A happy day as Spring emerges into Summer, smiling and sun-dappled. This scent just makes me grin.
-
It smells like lovely fruity tea to me, mmmm. But it disappears so quickly. It's great while it lasts though.
-
Floral and sweet, but kind of sickly so. It reminds me of the organ grinder from CD, there's just this...pendulous, overripe fruit note that is going crazy on my skin. If it weren't for that, it might actually be enjoyable.
-
This smelled very spicy in the bottle, and on smelled like clove and cumin. Mmmm...a very sultry, beautiful scent.

I tried this on in the BPAL section at Whole Foods Roswell and was freaked out when I realized that it smelled like my Mom. I don't even know how to describe that with all of the mixed, complex emotions I have for my Mom, but I was even more freaked out when I tested it and I swear I smelled a hint of tobacco (my Mom's a big smoker). It smelled nostalgic, and slightly sweet. Very much a morpher.
-
Don't let the description fool you--this scent is beautiful. I think it's less decay and more...elegant, delicate, melancholy. A woman from a forgotten era waiting for her gentleman caller to arrive, dressed to the nines and sitting on a chaise lounge, glitting and rustling in a pique of pouting melancholy. It's a little sweet and a little emo. A little scornful, a little vulnerable. Very, very nice.

This smells almost like candy fluff in the bottle...floral candy fluff. Light, sweet, ephemeral. On...wait, where did it go? Am re-applying. And...it smells like candy fluff and perfuminess. Less tranquil, and more flirty yet fragile. Just when I think "this is shrill and cloying, when I can even SMELL it!", I sniff again and I catch a slightly spicy floral note that just rocks my socks. So while it lasts, it's really nice.

Yay Capricorn! Finally, my scent . And I am happy to say I love it. It smells strong and woody, and a little resiny to me. It's sweet without being overly sentimental, and strong without overpowering. Very earthy.
