In the imp: Honey. Spicy honey. Wet on skin: Vaguely like the Lion with added vanilla. Spicy vanilla amber. Dry on skin: Oh boy, how to describe this? Very foody, in my mind: similar to a spice cookie dipped in hot chai. Overall: 7/10. If this does indeed contain honey, it's the first honey scent that I've tried where the honey doesn't overwhelm everything else. If it contains cinnamon, it's also the first cinnamon scent to not cause welts. That being said, I'm picking up more of a clove scent than cinnamon. Possibly nutmeg, mayhaps. Adore the spiciness of this one!

Thank you lab, for this frimp In the imp: vaguely familiar floral scent - air freshner they used to use at my high school, that's it exactly Wet: Is that what bay rum is supposed to smell like? Oooh, I like! Dry: Sweet and salty. Very, very slight leather scent. Also, a touch of florals. Like flowers tied together with a strip of leather and then set to drift in the ocean. Very clean and oceanic. Overall: 7.5-8/10. Really nice on, not as amazing as some others. Love the clean saltiness of it. Not as much throw as I'd hoped. Really, on me, this is very fem. If I had to imagine who Jolly Roger would look like, I'm seeing either a man far less manly and much cleaner than Jack Sparrow, or a pirate wench who's real name was more like Jollyanna Roger.

Thank you Lab, for this frimp. In the imp: nice, but I have no clue at all what it is. Wet: Again, wonderful blend but I absolutely can't pick any notes out. Yes, I'm new at this, but I've been able to at least guess at notes in other imps. I'm baffled. Dry: Spicy lavender with ??? Still baffled by this lovely blend. Overall: 8/10. Slightly sweet, slightly spicy. Not dominated by a single note. Light enough that coworkers won't complain about it. Even though I can't figure out what it is, I like it. In the end, that's all that matters.

In the imp: Vanilla and caramel, yum Wet on skin: Oh dear God, this is amazing! It's a strong vanilla - just what I've been looking for! No clue where the caramel went, but really don't care. Dry: Even more amazing. Forget O - this is sex in a bottle. It's a very bold vanilla with saffron. Never tried saffron before, didn't even know what it smelled like - but it's amazing! Even 6 hours later, it's still a strong vanilla with saffron. Overall: 9.5/10. Would get that extra half point if it was a GC or if I'd been smart enough to order more than one bottle. This is going to be my signature scent for as long as I have this bottle. Other vanillas have either died quickly on my skin or were overwhelmed by other things in the mix (e.g. O is all honey on me after 30 minutes). While this is a great blend, the vanilla remains the predominant note and isn't overwhelmed. Monster in My Panties is definitely the sexy strong vanilla that I've been looking for. OMG, amazing.

Gourmand - Foody Scents - General Recommendations

I like Dana O'Shee - it's a creamy almond scent. Also, the Monsters - Underbed and Closet are also both really foody. Dana O'Shee is a general catalog while the Monsters are LEs. Also, I find plum to be both sexy and foody - I adore Bathsheba, a spicy musky plum. -
Preconceived ideas: Ye gads, patchouli and cinnamon. I'm going to smell like a dirty hippie and have red welty arms. Do I really want to do this? In the imp: Patchouli. My least favorite scent. Gack. Wet: Patchouli. Dry < 1.5 hours: Patchouli. Nothing but patchouli. Good news is that I'm not having a skin reaction. Yay! First cinnamon/cassia scent I've been able to wear. Granted, I can't smell cinnamon, but still... Dry > 2 hours: No more patchouli! Yay! It's this wonderful cinnamon/amber scent. Gorgeous! Can't stop sniffing my wrist. Overall: Hmm... 8/10 - Yay, it's the first cinnamon scent I can actually wear! Doh, I have to smell like something I strongly dislike for over an hour first. It's so worth it though. Overall, this is a great sexy sultry scent - and even though I dislike the patchouli, I'm thinking other people (um, hot guys hopefully) will like this on me. This will be great for a night out. I'm going to be wearing this so much I might even overcome my dislike of patchouli. Actually, by the time I started sniffing the cinnamon, the patchouli was starting to grow on me. I cinnamon, and Sin me.

Preconceived ideas: Patchouli. Hmmm. Nice of the lab to include this frimp, but I'm not so sure about this. Oh well, I can always wash it off if I don't like. In the imp: Ooooh, cocoa. Faintest hint of floral. Nice. Wet: Mmm, cocoa still. Dry < 2 hours: Gacckkk, patchouli. Why does my skin hate patchouli so bad? It amps it into something overpowering and bad-stinky. Dry > 2 hours: So I got busy and didn't wash it off. Good thing. The patchouli has gone far, far away (yay!) and I'm getting creamy chocolately leather. I'll definitely agree with a previous review about M&Ms in bondage. It's like licking melted chocolates off a pair of leather boots and liking it. Overall: 7/10. Lost points because of the 2 hours of patchouli. Never got the florals once it went on my skin. This will definitely be a scent I wear for a night on the town. Mmm... bondaged chocolates.

Thank you lab for this frimp In the imp: Hmm... clean, reminds me of my father's cologne. Wet on skin: Pine, juniper, and black musk. Definitely clean and forest-y, cold and green. Dry on skin: Pine and something I can't identify - quite possibly the cypress. While it's not as masculine as it was in the imp, this isn't me. Overall: 7/10. While this isn't a good scent for me, I think I've found something to enable my father with. This definitely smells like a scent he'd love. My skin tends to amp up the "I am tree, hear me... um, roar's probably not the right word - hear me shake my leaves" notes. I'm afraid this one will always be in my mind as a "Boy! I smell a boy! Or, oooh, maybe it's a man!" scent.

In the imp: peach and oatmeal? Wet: I'm still getting peach and a warm slightly spiced oatmeal scent - reminds me of that brown sugar oatmeal I like. No clue what's causing me to think of oatmeal. Dry: I'm not exactly sure what the scent is. Peach is definitely the top note. Then a creamy slightly buttery scent. Next, a wiff of pumpkin and nutmeg - but just a whiff. Getting no clove at all. It all melds together into this lovely lovely scent. It's... um... more candle-like than a foody-I'm-up-to-my-eyebrows-in-pumpkin-bread type of scent. Later on, the nutmeg tends to come out just a bit more - I guess it got over it's shyness. Overall: 9 out of 10. There's something about Jack I just can't put into words, but I want more of it. Not as much pumpkin or as foody as I thought it would be. I'm going to have to be beating people off with sticks to keep them from sniffing my arms.

In the imp: Honey? Why am I smelling honey? Immediately on: Really, really nice sunscreen. Once dry: Creamy coconut. More emphasis on the cream. Overall: 8 out of 10. It's definitely a very summer-y, tropical scent. I absolutely adore it. If I had something with a faint sweet pineapple scent, I'd definitely layer the two. Absolutely gorgeous, but faint.

In imp: Mmm, spicy coconut. Maybe just a hint of cake, but very faint. This is great! On skin: Oh dear mother of God, make it stop burning! Worst reaction I've ever had to a BPAL oil. Huge red welts are popping out wherever the oil touched my skin - including my finger tips. Trying to wash off not helping - had to have an immediate shower. The only scent I really picked up was screaming cassia, but I was more than a bit distracted. No way can I wear this. Hmm... can't wear it, don't want to get rid of it... Highly diluted in bath water: Much better. Oh, this is nice - I'm getting this wonderful scent of cinnamon roll with just a hint of coconut. It's giving me all sorts of ideas for my next culinary adventure. Overall: 4 out of 10 - love the scent, great idea, but it's not going to score high points if I can't put it on my skin. Nice in a bath, would be great in a locket, but I want to be able to wear it.

I want a BPAL that smells like Bath & Body Works...

I want a BPAL that smells like Bath & Body Works...

I'm going to attempt to enable my mom, but there's a slight difficulty. Due to allergies, pickiness, and sheer stubborness, the only scent she wants to wear is BBW's Sparkling Mountain Springs. Problem is that it was discontinued several years ago - and her massive stockpile isn't so massive anymore. I'm rather new to BPAL, and I'm just baffled - is there anything similar from BPAL? The only scent she'd wear before the BBW was White Linen. Help, please?!? -
In the imp: oh wow, that's cherry. Just cherry - that's all I can smell. On skin: First minute - cherry, cherry, and more cherry 1-10 minutes - strongly cinnamon, the only thing cherry-like now is the skin on my neck and inner elbows where it's burning. Strangely enough, my wrists are fine and are smelling absolutely wonderful. 10-30 minutes - having washed most of the oil off, I'm getting a light cinnamon/vanilla/almond scent. 30+ plus - gorgeous foody vanilla/almond with just a faint hint of spice Overally, absolutely lovely - will definitely wear again. However, I will be careful from here on out and not put anywhere except wrists or hair and will not apply directly after shower. I'm new at this, so I don't have the best nose yet - but I never did pick up on anything other than vanilla, almond, and cinnamon. Love the scent, but not masochistic enough to enjoy the burn. 7 out of 10.

In the imp: freshly sliced slightly-tart apples - I'm thinking maybe Granny Smith? On the skin: 0-5 min: Smells just like an apple pie being assembled - fresh, juicy apple slices + slight sprinkling of cinnamon and nutmeg + drizzle of honey -- ohhh, this is glorious 5-30 min: Mmm, caramel apples. Gooey, sticky candy-coated apples just dripping caramel everywhere. 30 min+: Much, much lighter now. Picking up on that dewy orchard scent - can still get the apple and an occasional whiff of caramel, but it's mostly orchard now. Overall: Absolutely wonderful. Very "light" on me, not at all strong or overpowering. Will probably be getting a big bottle of this soon. Only complaint is that I'm craving a caramel apple now.

First review, so here's hoping I don't mess up too badly In the imp: Wow, wine. If this note keeps up, I'd better not wear this into work, or the boss is going to be giving me one of those "special" lectures. On the skin: Mmm... dark chocolate mocha. 5 min: This is exactly the smell I smell when I'm sipping a glass of wine while there are brownies in the oven - red wine with these wonderful underlying hints of chocolate. Coffee scent is totally gone. 30 min: Less chocolate - although it is still there. Wonderful blend of the rum and wine, with just a hint of something deeper. Overall, pretty much settled to being a buttery rum-y type of wine with slight dark chocolate, not much change after 30 minutes. My left wrist is glued to my nose, and I'm seriously considering a brownie run. Either that or a booze run. Much deeper and dark than I'm used to, but I absolutely adore.
