this scent is soft and creamy with gentle florals. I got this in a swap and I think my imp has been around for a while - it's delicious.
-
When wet, it smells kind of minty; when it dries, it smells like roses. Lots of roses. I'm not a big fan of the way roses smell on me, unfortunately. This one's off to be swapped!

I only have a sniffy of this - a friendof mine threw it in as a freebie during a swap. It smells like gingerbread. Dark, dark gingerbread. Gingerbread with a bite to it. Now I'm understanding why people are always looking for this one. It's gorgeous! Too bad I'm sure I will never find a bottle of it, but maybe I can get my hands on a decant at some point. Yummm.

I got a frimp of this in my last order, which was great because I'd been planning to order it in an imp pack. in the vial, it smells like... dirt. but a good kind of dirt. a friend of mine described it as "earth," which is more accurate. it reminds me of running around outside as a kid, smelling the warm ground and plants. when I put it on, I smell like earth for a little bit, and then I get a funky play-doh vanilla note. where is that coming from?? ick! I love how this smells as long as it's not on me. I will have to experiment with my scent locket and maybe try it out as a room scent. rating: 4/5 (in bottle) rating: 0/5 (on me)

A master storyteller who possessed unfailing courage and compassion, a sharp, quick wit, and a true understanding of human nature. Saffron and Middle Eastern spices swirled through sensual red musk. After liking Nefertiti so much, I was eager to try more scents that involved spices and musk. Scherezade is not working on me; the scent reminds me of some kind of food that I don't like, and I can't put my finger on it. It reminds me of incense as well - if it weren't for the funky-what-food-is-that note, it would be nice. rating: 0/5

the description of this scent made me excited; I love vanilla musk, and all the other notes sounded delicious. when I first apply it, HGM smells a bit like melons or sweet fruit - maybe that's the grapefruit. my husband says it smells lemony. I'm also getting something herby or minty - is that the aloe? when I put on a teeny dab of HGM, it mellowed into vanilla when it dried; when I put on more, I smelled like some kind of minty toothpaste. I am going to experiment with this a bit before I decide if it stays or goes.

In the bottle, I'm struck by the strong menthol scent. This remains for a few minutes when I put it on my skin. Eventually, this fades into something vaguely wintergreen-ish that reminds me of some candy I had as a child, but I can't remember the name. rating: 2/5

In the bottle, this smelled lemony and bright, very cheerful. I put it on with some trepidation (remembering how Embalming Fluid turned into lemony Pledge furniture polish on me). The scent quieted down so much that I can't even smell it an hour later. my husband thinks it smells a bit like the bug repellant Off, but I definitely don't get that scent at all! I like it very much, but it doesn't last very long. The problem may be that I'm testing Wheel of Fortune on my other arm, and maybe the scent from that is interfering with my ability to enjoy The Sun. I'm definitely going to test it again. rating: 4/5

When I first put this oil on, I am hit with the smell of citrus - it's so strong! After a little while, it fades... and then I smell like Sweet Tarts. Not exactly what I was hoping for - I'd wanted the cherry blossom to come out the most. rating: 1/5

A friend of mine compared this to another of my favorite oils, Zephyr, so I leaped at the chance to try it. Unfortunately, I was disappointed; I get a very strong fakey-vanilla smell when I wear it. rating: 0/5

This oil is very strong when first applied, but once it dries, it mellows into a spicy-musky scent that I like quite a bit. This isn't my usual fragrance style at all, but I like it so much that I might get a bottle of it eventually. rating: 5/5

Way, way too dark for me. The patchouli was overwhelming. rating: 0/5

... Offerings of milk, honey and sweet grains were made to placate these creatures, and it is that the basis of the scent created in their name. I thought I was going to like this one based on the description, but it's one of the few BPAL scents that has totally disappointed me. When I first opened the vial, I could smell almonds very strongly; almonds smell sickly-sweet to me and never fail to churn my stomach. I tried this oil anyway, and it dried to a very disappointing fakey vanilla play-doh scent on me. Yuck! This one is going to get traded off. I know a lot of other people really like it, but it's just not working out with my personal body chemistry. rating: 0/5

This scent was very light and pretty, but it faded on me quickly. I don't think I've tried anything else with a pear note in it - I enjoyed that note quite a bit. rating: 2/5

I bought a couple of imps of apple-based scents because I love apples. This was the first, and I don't like it at all. I'm not sure what it was, but after the oil dried, it smelled really weird on me. I could smell apple, but it was behind the funky note that made me go "eww." rating: 1/5

I'm a big vanilla fan, and I'm so happy this oil smells nice on me. It's very faintly flowery, not too overpowering. Not something I'd wear on a daily basis - I like scents that are little less flowery and a little more musky - but it's very pretty. rating: 3/5

This was the second apple-y oil I tried. I like this one better than the Hesperides; it's got more of an apple scent and it didn't turn into something that made me cringe after it dried. I smelled more herbs than apple, unfortunately, and something that screamed APPLE! was what I was looking for. rating: 2/5

I can't figure out how to describe this one. It's slightly sweet - maybe a little cherry? Once I'd worn it a few hours, it had a wonderful vanilla scent. It's nice, but not something I'm completely in love with. rating: 3/5

This scent was beautiful in the imp, but it completely disappeared on me after the oil dried. Either my skin just sucked it up too quickly or the notes just have no staying power on me, but it vanished each time I tried it. rating: 1/5

If I wore aquatic-type scents, I'd be very pleased with this one; it reminds me of standing on the riverbank on a sunny day, but without all the unpleasant smells like mud or dead fish. Not my style, however, so I'm swapping it away. rating: 3/5

At first this smelled like baby powder on me, but after a while turned into a lovely musky/powdery scent with a little bit of vanilla. After trying this a few more times, I've concluded that the scent is just not for me. The vanilla is nice, but the powdery smell just isn't great. rating: 2/5

The scent is much darker and stronger than I like, but the smell isn't bad at all. It's not something I would wear, though. rating: 2/5

This one gets overly sweet on me; I think it was the honey. Not for me. rating: 0/5

From the description of this scent, I was sure I'd love it. There's a note in this oil that smells terrible to me - I think it's the vetiver. After I wore it for about a half hour or so, the gross note faded and now I can smell a nice, creamy vanilla with some other scents I can't quite identify. I love the dried-down scent, but the vetiver is just too much for me to handle. rating: 3/5

Once dry, this scent reminds me of a big, fluffy pile of freshly washed towels. The smell is remarkably true to clean laundry, but it's not a scent I'd want to wear. rating: 2/5
