lol! i was a gypsy last weekend, and being that i got rid of my gypsy queen, mme moriarty filled in and made me very happy as well ;o)

this was pure bubblegum on me and i hated it!!! dry, it still smelled like bubble gum. granted, i didn't sniff it more than 20 minutes later, because of a slight accident at home (um. i dropped my garbage ALL down my stairs, it smelled horrible and i had to clean it up, then hopped in the shower because i was sweaty and nauseous) but i can tell you this one i won't bother trying to test again. no thank you. buh-bye! i can't stand bubblegum smell. blech.

Second review for CCCIV (304) Yup, in the bottle fizzy cola!!! unfortunately on, all i smell is what i think is vetiver. let me explain that i don't mind when vetiver is a VERY MINOR part of a blend, but those that are strongly vetiver make me run out of the room screaming. This is inbetween. Dry, it's a little less harsh but still that vetiver smell, a little incensey, possibly some wood and vanilla notes. vetiver or not, i'm betting a vetiver lover will like this much more.

this was SOOOO exciting - i got two bottles! CCIX (209) bottle - sweet coconut wet - smells like a pina colada! nice, sweet but not overboard dry - eventually this hits a state that i don' care for... i don't know what it is. it gets almost musky/burnt sugar?? not sure. the beginning is nice, but not something i'd wear much, and the later stage does not smell that great. i loved trying it but will probably swap it out! CCX (210) bottle - light floral, touch of aquatics wet - almost all aquatics now - really nice and light, not the masculine ozone. almost like szessepony without the fruity/sweet floral, this is a much milder wildflower floral, and slightly more aquatic seriously, two things i like but i'm really fussy about, aquatics (some bother my throat) and floral. and it's a perfect blend of the 2!!! i'm in love

this is old, but.... i want to say off the top of my head, mixing hamadryad with something a little lemony/herbal (polyhymnia? namaste?) may work - at least that's how it smells on me!

i've come across two cases where something seems off.. wolfsbane - i had two imps, tested one, didn't like it. smelled almost like nothing, if anything, like paper and musty (like when our basement flooded and we had to clean it out!) that one was set aside for a friend, another friend took the second one out of my swap box, and i sniffed it - it smelled a lot different! i suppose it could have been aging... but - at a meet & sniff, i smelled Pele and remember it being fairly strong/distinct. i just got my imp of pele from the lab, so it's fresh, and i smell - NOTHING. absolutely nothing. i can't believe that it needs aging to smell like ANYTHING, could it??? i thought i read somewhere (no idea where...) that sometimes if the lab cleans out the equipment the first few in a batch may be weaker. could that happen? i will see what my friend with a good nose says this weekend... any ideas beyond waiting?? thanks

bottle: watery, sweet, I swear a hint of chocolate… wet: watery, hint of floral, such a confusing scent- hard to pick out notes! But it's nice, light… as it dries some, the mint/lime comes out a little dry: vodka, mint, hint of floral… very light scent overall: not sure! It's nice, but very light, I can't decide if it's for me… rating: 6/10

bottle: sweet light floral - peony, green base (bamboo or tea green) wet: peony!! With a fresh green base, I know it says teas, but it's similar to bamboo. dry: peony and green! It's like a cross between peony moon and amsterdam! overall: love it! rating: 9/10

bottle: floral, evergreen, violet wet: same dry: ugh I'm not a fan of violet. overall: the violet ruins it for me rating: 3/10

bottle: floral musk wet: same dry: very jasminey, sweet floral overall: too floral for me rating: 5/10

bottle: musky, almost patchouli wet: same dry: mild musk/incense overall: not sure! I need to test again. rating: 6/10

bottle: spicy cherry wet: cherry - hint of musk/spice dry: cherry (dry, not sweet), hint of anise overall: cherry good. Anise bad. Oh well. rating: 5/10

bottle: light musk wet: same, hint of floral dry: light floral musk… not bad, but not anything special in my eyes. Er nose. overall: nice but not really me rating: 5/10

bottle: musky, patchouli wet: same dry: dark incensey… can't place anything beyond that. Very masculine/cologney overall: not for me. rating: 4/10

bottle: mint wet: mint, some lavender… dry: nice, not very strong mint, nice for summer overall: nice rating: 7/10

bottle: musk and something else… wet: musk, and I guess the labdanum? Hint of honey dry: still musky, not crazy about the labdanum. The honey and ylangylang aren't enough to compensate! overall: no thanks rating: 4/10

bottle: musk and what smells like vetiver - yuck! overall: I didn't even want to try this one on… (I have had some - at least 1 - blends with vetiver work, but not when it's the most prominent scent.) rating: 2/10

bottle: musk and citrus wet: grapefruit and musk, hint of floral/herbs dry: grapefruit, herbs, floral… really nice! overall: nice! rating: 8/10

bottle: lemon verbena and tea wet: verbena and tea dry: slight floral (jasmine) with the tea and verbena in the background. It has a hint of that soapiness which gets stronger as time goes on. overall: wah, soapy. rating: 5/10

bottle: lemon verbena wet: lemon verbena and sandalwood, not sure what else I can smell but a very cold/snowy scent dry: pretty much the same - not going soapy (YAY!) a new favorite combo!! rating: love this - wish it wasn't an LE!!! overall: 9/10 (I love lemon verbena but most bpal blends i've tried so far just don't work for me. this is the best one i've tried... sigh.... wish i could get more!!)

bottle: patchouli, slightly musky wet: rose and patchouli dry: still don't smell much sandalwood. Really nice scent that combines roses/incense overall: really nice blend but not my style rating: 6/10

bottle: tea rose wet: mild tea rose dry: same - never got resiney, although it is a mild/grounded blend overall: nice but I'm not big on roses (says the girl who now likes kurukulla.... ) rating: 6/10

bottle: musky, light wet: herbal, a little citrusy, and some light musk dry: lemony, hint of herbs… overall: really nice! I'll savour my little imp of this… rating: 8/10

bottle: sandalwood and vanilla wet: sandalwood, something creamy, hint of spices -yum!! dry: same - loving it!!! overall: LOVE it! rating: 9/10 (will most likely become a 10, after i try it once more)
