Hippiesh, spicy, musky scents - without patchouli
Eunice replied to friendthegirl's topic in Recommendations
Seconding Morocco. Snake Oil smells a little bit sweeter than Morocco but other than that they smell very similar. -
This is not sweet or fruity at all. There is an orange blossom scent but it is so faint. I'd swear there was white pepper in this also. I read the other reviews and I almost think I have a mislabeled bottle from the Lab. This just can't be Akuma in here.

Yummy amber! There is something crisp and bright in this this that keeps the amber from being too overwhelming. Maybe a white flower since those seem to be lighter and cleaner and lighter. Blood Amber is not what I expected and better than I had imagined.
-
Oh yes! Musk and opium! This is what I'd imagine an opium den to smell like. Not sure what civit smells like but if it's in here, I am enjoying it. Lovely scent!

Light, watery and green. And something in here smells lightly of tortilla chips. This is just very very odd on my skin.
-
Where's the rose? I love the myrrh and frankincense in this and can make out some white flower but no rose. Very incensy and light. It smells lovely but it doesn't suit me enough to wear.

Katharina is orange Tang on my skin. No musk or apricot at all. Just Tang. I don't much like the drink and although this doesn't smell nasty, it is too orangy for me.
-
Kostnice is very green lily overtop rosewood. I don't get the frankincense at all. This is very clean green lillies and rosy wood to me. I'd expected something heavier with the frankincense but since I can't make it out at all in this, Kostine just stays clean and refreshing.

I am in love with the Lab's rose scents and this is another winner. Very very red and sweet and with a green ending. Rose Red is more rosey and flamboyant than The Peacock Queen but The Peacock Queen is all about elegance and haughtiness. This is a rose scent with thorns.

The lotus is sweet with only a tiny little bit of a bubblegum smell. I can get the pine but it doesn't overpower the delicate lotus scent. And the amber is close behind the pine. This is much more herbal than I expected but still a lovely blend.

How very interesting! I can't pick out any individual ingredients but this smells vaguely sweet with a touch of sharp spiciness. There is a fruity smell but not something I can identify. Litha is just a wonderful, well-rounded scent and one I am very happy to have. Lovely!!!

I got very worried when I read about wet rat but luckily The Rat King is nothing like wet rat on my skin. I swear I am smelling some oakmoss and a hint of lime and cucumber in this. There is musk but it is light compared to the oakmoss. it isn't so much a woodsy scent as outdoorsy scent on me. Definitely a winner!!

There's no way I can top Sarada's review but for my own records, here goes... This is leather straight off. It takes a couple minutes for the other ingredients to come through. The musk is very light for being black musk. When I see oakmoss and patchouli listed I expect something a little more "here I am!" but both the oakmoss and the patchouli only lend a little bit to this. I'm a fan of white pepper in cooking and I really enjoy it as a scent in this. Everything is so light, no one ingredient overpowers another. Two Monsters is another Salon blend that is worth the extra money.

This smells a bit like spiced and honeyed peaches to me. It smells interesting but I can't decide if I like it or not. Hmmm...

Juicy, wet roses and sweet lotus. This reminds me of Kool-Aid only not any flavor I've had before. I love roses now and this is another lovely rose blend.

This is wet and clean and smells like a rainstorm at the ocean. This is what I'd want to smell like right after a shower. Incredible!
-
I have had this on my wish list for ages and if I'd known how perfect this would smell, I'd have snatched up a lrage bottle immediately. Rose and sandalwood and just a bit of patchouli. This couldn't be more perfect. This is so perfect for me I just want to cry.

A plum that isn't too sweet and fruity! And the orchid and daffodil are lovely in the mix. The jasmine is pretty light and doesn't overpower. And the musk shows up after a couple minutes on my skin. But that plum is the winner in this. The plum keeps this crisp and refreshing.

I get the rose but it isn't as strong as the other rose blends I;ve tried. There seems to be a bit of lemon in this to give this a sharper, crisper scent. And as with all the rose scents, there is that ever so nice green scent. Fabulous!

Lovely lovely opium and narcissus. The myrrh gives this a wonderful resiny/powdery scent. Deep, dark and mysterious. Darkness is really incredible. I feel like I say that a lot but it can't be helped. I don't write even remotely as well as Beth blends perfumes but I do know this is another incredible blend.

This is an amazing spring green scent. There is a floral scent to this but the spring green is really what shines for me. Simply beautiful!
-
Eww. Just... It smells woody, rosy and cherry and something that just makes this rank on me.
-
Apricot and clove sure doesn't sound like they'd meld well so this scent is a big surprise. The apricot is tart and tangy and not very sweet and the clove makes a lovely spice scent along the same brightness as the tang of the apricot. I wouldn't wear this in a large bottle but I'll wear the imp!

Damn, that's nice! Lemony and floral. Lolita is so crisp and clean and refreshing. I totally get the poisonous sexuality!

Yep, cherry, red musk and anise. They're all there. I wasn't sure I would like this but I am falling in love with this the longer Kabuki is on my skin. I can't tell ya why I love this, but I do.
