I too love all of the Mad Tea Party scents that I've tried and The Lion is no exception to that rule. It's definitely a very regal, pround blend much like its namesake. The amber is forthright in the blend, but there's somethng spicy lingering beneath the surface. Is it a touch of cinnamon? Whatever it is, I love it.

Libra made me want to cry. The description is right up my alley. Beautiful blooms, red fruits, and honey. But, on my skin and in the bottle the scent is just not for me. When I opened the bottle and took a good sniff, my head recoiled from the scent. This baby is STRONG. I normally love rose and constantly defend it's proclaimed "old-ladyness" from its haters. But there's something about this rose that makes my nose hurt. The fruit is sickeningly sweet. And I really like sweet scents!! It's almost like all of those red fruits have been mashed together and sugar was dumped on the top and mixed in. This is pre-sweetened Koo-Aid mixed with sugar sweet. Teeth beware. And honey. Oh, honey. I think I have to give up on the fact that honey will ever work for me. Or, I should say, very rarely work for me. Which is sad because I love the thought of a good gooey-honey scent. Ahh well. This one wasn't meant to be for me. It's a good lesson in understanding that even if all the notes scream "yes!!" the final product can sometimes whimper "no".

The intoxicating perfume of exotic incenses wafting on warm desert breezes. Arabian spices wind through a blend of warm musk, carnation, red sandalwood and cassia. Who doesn't love Morocco?!? If the heavens above suddenly proclaimed that I was only allowed to have one signature scent for the rest of my life the choice would be easy: Morocco. (Of course then I would cry and curse the gods for denying me the rest of the precious...!) Morocco is gorgeous: creamy, slightly spicy, vanilla-y goodness. It's my one true comfort scent and every time I wear it and smell it through out the day, it's like getting a big bear hug from my beloved. It's really no wonder why this is consistently so many people's favorite.

I've worn this a couple of times now (this imp seems to stalk me!) and prior to today it's been all roses all the time. Today it's a spicy floral but not anything like a carnation. It's like roses touched with cinnamon and a bit of a green note. I like this variation a lot.

My first impression of this oil was that it would be to citrus-y for my liking. Initially with me, that was the case. Coincidently, my boyfriend took a sniff and said "MMM, citrus. This is nice." Citrus? Nice? Nooo.... But as the day goes on, the sharp, tangy grapefruit has mellowed and now it's nice and smooth. No discernable individual notes, just an overall sense of good.

Gourmand - Foody Scents - General Recommendations
tasty replied to Morrighana's topic in Recommendations
Off the top of my head: Sugar Skull, Bordello, Dana O'Shee, Velvet, Lick it Again (and probably also Lick It), Chaste Moon, Spooky, O and MB: Underpants. I also suspect that the Enraged Groundhog Musk will be quite foody. I <3 the foody-type scents!! They're my absolute favorite. I'll keep thinking of more. -
I have had the pleasure of trying two different bath bombs this week because I have been quite the sickly girl... First it was Grr, with my headache-from-hell[small]tm[/small] and yesterday I was all stuffed up from allergies and/or a cold. Good times!! I can't report on the smell of Oof (I'm dreadfully stuffed up, remember? ) so I'll have to defer to Slave1's description. I asked my boyfriend to smell it and he said it smells like powder. ...whatever that means? I can say that a soothing, BPAL-fizzied bath was just what the doctor ordered yesterday! I used Oof in a warmer-than-usual bath and inhaled the soothing vapors as much as I could. I ended up drifting asleep in the tub and when I woke up, my fingers were like prunes and my sinus pressure was definitely relieved and I could breathe better! Granted, the sinus pain was still there, but the pressure had let up giving me some relief. Heavenly!! I love this bath bomb. <3 BPTP.

Count me as one of the lucky few who get migraines on a regular basis. I knew that when my headache started today, that I would try out the Grr fizzyBOOM to see if it could do anything to tackle the pain. I drew a luke-warm bath to make it as pleasant as possible. Usually I take hothothot baths, but I didn't want to shock my system this time. I dropped in half of the fizzyBOOM and noticed right away that it didn't fizz as much as bath bombs from other places. When I got in the bath, however, the water felt silky and smooth. Is this from the shea oil? Whatever it is, the bath felt heavenly... The scent of the fizzyBOOM in the bag is straight up MINT. I was afraid that the scent in the bath would be too powerful, which is why I only used half. However, in the water the scent became more mild; still minty, but definitely not as strong. I fell asleep, as I often do in the bathtub, and when I woke up my fingers were like prunes and my headache was mostly gone! The back of my head felt tingly (in a good way) and the pounding pressure was now just a mild pulse. Now that I've gotten out of the tub, my headache hasn't completely gone away but I don't think it's gotten any worse. I know that I will be buying a bottle of Grr elixir in my next BPAL order in the hopes that smelling the scent for an extended period of time will knock my headaches out completely. Two thumbs up!!

This is a really beautiful, really amazingly delicate and gorgeous scent. At first whiff, I do detect a slight banana scent, which seems out of place but it fades very quickly. Gardenia must really agree with my skin because I am in love with this scent. Initially, I have ruled out all aquatic scents because I immediately associated them with the nasty Cool Water perfume, but now I am thinking that I should rethink that because of The Lady of Shalott. 5ml purchase, for sure!

I wore Lick It Again on both Christmas and Christmas Eve. Thanksgiving was Gingerbread Poppet's delicious clove-y goodness. I have no idea what I'll wear on New Year's Eve. Glitter, maybe?

I can smell the jasmine/violet in this blend, and while I lovelovelove violet, this floral combo is not for me. Also, there's something in the background that reminds me of (dare I say it?!) cat pee. Ack, this is a definite no with my skin chemistry.

MMMMM! This smells like chocolate cake batter. Has anyone tried the Cocoa scrub from B&BW? This is almost exactly that smell to me. Lucious and enticing, I MUST own a bottle of this.

In the bottle, this is milky, cakey sweet. Think of a hugely decadent tres leches cake topped with a honeycomb frosting. Initially applied on me, it retained that super-duper sweet scent that almost makes my nose tingle. Unfortunately, I think that I need to just accept the fact that BPAL's milky/honey notes won't work for me. *cries, stomps feet and collects herself* On the dry down, it's all boozy red wine and slightly spicy incense. This one is quite the morpher! The cakey/sweet note is just a faint breeze in the background. Sadly, this one will have to go in the swap pile. *whines!*

This is a really strikingly beautiful scent. I find it very appropriate that this scent is listed under the Wanderlust category because when I first opened the bottle, my mind immediately said, "Hawaii. This smells like Hawaii" and I was inundated with memories from my trip there. I'm not sure which note brings this sudden influx of scent-associtiations: perhaps the sea moss? Or could it be the Elemi, which is derived from a tree native to the Philipine islands? After being on my skin, it settles down to a really rich musky vanilla and I'm getting a bit of the Ambergris mixed in there. This one's a keeper, for sure.

This scent seems really dark and mysterious to me. The florals in this blend are not cloying or heavy at all, but they definitely have a presence. There is a vanilla note, but on me it's not foody at all, but adds warmth and depth to the scent. This is one of my signature scents and I have received so many compliments when I wear this. Lucky for me, I have a 10ml of this on the way to me!!

This scent is delicious on my skin! I have received so many compliments on it and I can't stop sniffing myself!! On me, it smells a lot like Lush's Candy Fluff scent, except not as sickeningly sweet. The throw on this one is strong, which makes me love it even more!
