    Cutie Dragon

Cutie Dragon smells more cake-y in the bottle than it does on my skin. It starts off as lemon cake with buttercream and honey but ends up mostly being a sugary lemon scent on me, although the buttercream does make a come back and add some creaminess after a few hours of wear. The lemon in this reminds me of something... maybe the lemon in Lemon-Scented Sticky Bat or P%$S. I'm so glad the honey didn't overpower the lemon! This smells really nice and will be great to wear during the warmer months. ETA: Subsequent wears/re-tests have shown that this is definitely more lemon and honey (like a lemon and honey tea) on me with some creaminess than an actual lemon cake scent. While I enjoy it, I don't reach for it often enough compared to my other lemon cake scents to keep the bottle.

    Dragon Snugs

I was mostly interested in Dragon Snugs for the beeswax, honeybush, and pink pepper. But what I mostly get from it is the honey, backed by some honeybush, with the pink pepper becoming more noticeable after a few hours of wear. The beeswax isn't distinct to my nose. This keeps making me think of something, but I am not sure what. Maybe Lush's Honey I Washed the Kids soap, or the honey in Bears of Berlin? This one is definitely one for the honey fans.

Red Peach, Sweet Oudh, Honey & Saffron

I swapped for this one on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. This is indeed a peachy incense blend. All of the notes are noticeable. The honey and peach aren't cloying, and the oudh isn't the fecal variety. It starts off stronger on the honey, peach, and saffron on me, but the oudh gains strength over time, giving it that incense-y vibe. It ends up being more incense-y than peach-y on me after several hours of wear. This will pair perfectly with White Peach and Incense HG, so I'll be hanging on to the bottle.

The Wild Men of Jezirat Al Tennyn (2016)

My decant is from 2019. I never tried the original. This one starts off as a spicy moss scent on me. I get lots of moss with some clove and red pepper. There's a burst of spice for a moment, but it ends up mellowing out. Then the ambrette seed joins in, lending its muskiness to the scent, and after that, the red amber jumps into the mix, making this a lightly-spiced resinous, musky, mossy scent on me. The vanilla did not show up on me, sadly. This is nice, but not something I could really see myself reaching for.

    στοργή (Storge)

This is kind of like Snake Oil and Blue Blankie had a baby. In the bottle, and initially applied on me, it is mostly Snake Oil and lavender accompanied by honeyed rosewater. I get zero cotton candy from this, but honestly, I wasn't really expecting to be able to pick it out against all of these (much stronger) notes. I really like the lavender and Snake Oil combo, but my skin chemistry has decided to amp the rosewater in this one, and combined with the fresh Snake Oil, it smells sharp and bitter on me. While the lavender hasn't gone away, it's more of a rose-y Snake Oil than a lavender Snake Oil on me, and since the Snake Oil is fresh, I am getting zero of Snake Oil's vanilla to help smooth things over. I am one of those people that only like Snake Oil once it has been aged, so I am going to set this aside for a few months before testing it again. But if you are a fan of fresh Snake Oil and are hoping for a rose-y snek, you may want to give this one a try!

    My Tiger

In the bottle: Golden amber mingles with the same lavender and patchouli from A Moment in Time! On my skin: That gorgeous lavender note and the sugar cane are the first notes to leap out at me, warmed by the amber and patchouli. The golden amber and patchouli gain strength over time, but they never overtake the lavender. All of the notes are distinguishable throughout wear, and the scent is very relaxing. I am running low on A Moment in Time and already ran out of Good Morning, London, so I was hoping this scent would be like a hybrid of those two. And it did NOT disappoint! Seriously, if you love A Moment in Time and can wear amber, you'll love this as well. I am so glad I grabbed a bottle of this, and I may need to grab another before it goes away!

    Utter Sophistication

When this first arrived, the Dorian was the strongest element in the bottle, followed by the beeswax, lavender, a bit of saltiness from the popcorn, and the oak. After a day of rest, I get the Snake Oil with the Dorian, much more oak, and I can still smell the salty popcorn and lavender. The beeswax rosin isn't as prominent as it was when it first arrived. On my skin: Dorian and lavender mingle with some oak and salty popcorn. The Dorian and lavender are by far the strongest components, but the salty popcorn seems to be gaining strength as it sits on my skin, because less than 30 minutes in, it's already stronger than the oak. It's not super buttery popcorn, but the popcorn is noticeable in this scent, so that is something to be wary of if you were hoping it wouldn't play a role here. Once dry, the Snake Oil emerges, so that it is a Dorian + Snake Oil blend (more Dorian than Snake Oil, though) accompanied by the salty popcorn and some lavender. The vanilla becomes more prominent over time, and after a few hours, it's this amazing vanilla-lavender Dorian variant, since the vanilla husk and beeswax rosin joined the party. The oak adds some warmth in the background, while the popcorn just adds a bit of salt by this point. I wasn't sure about the oak and popcorn notes in this one, but I am happy to report that the oak isn't sharp, and the popcorn isn't too buttery. I'm a big fan of Dorian and its variants, and I am really glad to add this one to my collection. ETA: During a full day of wear: I got a lot more oak from this, but then I also got more butter from the popcorn in the crooks of my elbows. That's not the case on my wrists, though (where I did my original test). This one is a morpher!

    Impromptu Goat Yoga

When this first arrived, I smelled a lot of goat's milk and white tea in the bottle, backed by the lavender and marshmallow musk. After a day of rest, the marshmallow musk is more noticeable in the bottle, cozying up to the goat's milk, but the white tea is still pretty strong. On my skin, it's a huge blast of citrus-y white tea at first, with the lavender, goat's milk, and marshmallow musk trailing behind it. The white tea insists on holding the center stage, but the lavender grows stronger over time and ends up being not far behind it. The buttery goat's milk and marshmallow musk continue to reside in background roles. It takes a really long time for the white tea note to calm down on my skin (I must amp the stuff), but when it finally stops shouting after three hours, I get more of the lavender and goat's milk. The marshmallow musk doesn't seem able to compete with the other notes on me. This was the Lilith I was most excited about from my order, but it's not my favorite of the four I ordered. I am going to set it aside and let it rest some more, and perhaps try it in a scent locket in the future. I am not sure how I feel about the white tea with these notes, but I bet this would be lovely on someone that doesn't amp it.

    Cool It

An oil for helping ameliorate anxiety and soothe nerves stressed to breaking. Wild frankincense essential oil, lavender absolute, and copaiba balsam with chamomile and jasmine flowers and peppermint leaf from the TAL garden. A lot is going on right now – A LOT – all over the world, and the upheaval is reflected in our personal lives. We’re coming out of 2018’s Tower’esque maelstrom, and many of us are still struggling to get our bearings. This small set of oils has been designed for ritual and can also be worn as perfumes because we could all use a helping hand right about now. Cool It was created, composed, and consecrated under the healing, calming auspices of Luna. As she wanes, may she remove the terrors and grief that clutch at your heart, and as she waxes, may she fill you with peace and tranquility. Cool It kind of smells like Anesthesia, Twilight, and Three Impossible Errands had a baby. The lavender and peppermint are the strongest notes at first, and then the jasmine joins the party, with the chamomile and frankincense coming out more after it has been dry. The peppermint in this has cooling effect, but it does not burn. The frankincense ends up being one of the main players on me after a while, but I fell asleep and did not get to sniff this over several hours, so I'll update my review if I have more thoughts on the scent during future wears. I find Cool It to be very soothing, and I am thrilled to have a bottle. If it were still available, I would get more, because I have a feeling I will be reaching for this one a lot.

    FORMULA FFSS8: Spaceship

I don't have much to add here after supreme_c0rt's review. The eucalyptus is present for sure. It's a soft variety, but definitely the dominant note on me. Behind that, I get this cologne-y note that is probably the chrome, with perhaps a bit of musk and ozone. It's very refreshing and airy. I did not get any diesel or rusty metal from this at all. It makes me think it would be better suited as a space scent rather than a spaceship scent, due to the airiness and the absence of the darker notes. I think it's nice and would pair really well with Juniper and White Mint HG, but I also know it's not something I would really reach for enough to justify obtaining more of it. It was really nice to get to try it, though.

    Wererat-Infested Sewer

I tested this on a paper towel without reading the notes. The only one I was able to discern was the moss, and I thought there might be a musk, but I was not able to pinpoint the variety. I also thought there might be some sort of dark resin involved, and perhaps a metallic note. Now I see what I was smelling was mostly the moss-covered stone. I didn't get leather from this at all. It's kind of sharp and masculine, but nicer than the notes would leave you to believe. I'm glad I got a chance to try it, even though it's a little too dark for me.

    Pumpkin V

This features the same spiced pumpkin note as the GCs in the pumpkin patch scents, backed by a light vanilla. The french vanilla is most noticeable to me, but perhaps that's because my nose is able to pinpoint that one best because I have the single note. I guess this is one of those times where my skin ran away with the spiced aspect of the pumpkin, because this was not vanilla-dominant on me at any point. Still, it was really nice to be able to try it.

    Dandelion & Dirt

I tested this after letting it settle for a day. When it first arrived, the dandelion was by far the strongest note in the bottle, but after a day of rest, the dirt has become a lot more prominent, and I can smell both notes. On me, it starts off with the Lab's lovely dandelion note over some fresh-turned earth, like a dog had been digging there (only, there is no grass). I really like this phase of the scent. But the dirt ends up gaining strength over time, and it is drier, and I think there is some patchouli in it. The dandelion, while still present, does not complement the dirt as well by this point. There's a sharpness to the scent that I'm not really enjoying, sadly. I am going to let my bottle settle for a few weeks before trying it again. I think there's some promise here, but it may be better in a scent locket.

    The Strange Old Woman

The Strange Old Woman is like a caramelized pecan-studded cinnamon roll. I get caramelized pecans, light cinnamon, and a bread note, dusted with sugar. Unfortunately, these things are all accompanied by this odd plastic-y note for the first hour of wear, and although that dissipates and becomes more like a spiced, caramel-y, nutty bread over time, I wouldn't want to go through the plastic phase again to get to that point. I am not really sure what caused it, but I was surprised that the caramelized pecan wasn't super cloying, and the cinnamon wasn't overpowering (or a skin irritant) on me. This could be nice on someone with kinder skin chemistry.

    Yvaine

Yvaine is a beauty. I get a stunning lavender note (not a medicinal variety here!) backed by a light musk throughout the first few hours of wear, but then the magnolia emerges ends up gaining enough strength to overtake the lavender on me. By that point, it is like a nice summertime floral scent. But I vastly preferred the phase when the lavender was queen. I'll definitely be keeping the decant, but I am glad I don't love it so much that I need to find more. (Fairy Market, on the other hand... 😭)

    The Great Brocade Addressee

In the decant, the immortelle and the honey are the notes that stand out to me. That ends up being the case on my skin as well. This is immortelle and strong (and high-pitched), pale honey for the longest time. I do end up getting the cream with the honey, but there's far more honey than cream on me. After a while, the orris joins the party, and it becomes really powdery on me, as orris is wont to do. So it ends up being honeyed floral powder. I was hoping for more lavender and amber from this, but alas, my skin chemistry didn't really let those notes shine.

    Cake Smash

In the decant, I mostly get the cream cheese frosting. On my skin, it's cream cheese frosting infused with elements of Dorian, Snake Oil, and Doc Constantine. It starts off stronger on the Dorian, but the Snake Oil (moreso the vanilla than the spices) aspect wins out on me after a few hours of wear, although the Dorian's still there. I get a hint of the fir of Doc Constantine, but it's not as strong as the Dorian or Snake Oil. Behind these notes, I get the cocoa of the red velvet cupcake when sniffing really close. But it's not in the throw. This decant is a keeper for sure! I don't think I need to hunt down more, but I am loving the vanillas from Snake Oil and Dorian mingling with the cream cheese frosting-covered cupcake note.

    Vanilla Orchid

Vanilla Orchid SN smells like an orchid. It's just the flower here... don't expect any floral vanilla like NAVA's Kobalt from this one. It's a slightly soapy, slightly sweet white floral on me. It was nice to get to try it, but it's not a keeper for me.

    The Gold Room

In the vial, it's this lovely golden apple peel mixed with honeyed champagne, and it smells lovely. On me, I get that wonderful apple note at first, but then it takes a turn for the worse. It reminds me of what Winter Landscape did on me... which was not good. And those two scents don't even share any listed notes, so I am not sure what is up there. After a few hours, it ends up being more tobacco-forward on me with a stronger amber note, some ginger-infused champagne, and a much softer apple peel note. It is much better during this stage of the scent. I am really glad I got a chance to try this one, but I don't think I can do the funk that I got from this during the early stage of the scent to get to it.

It Was Folly to Grieve, or to Think

In the decant, this smells like ginger-infused champagne with touches of peach blossom and orange blossom (more peach than orange). Unfortunately, my skin chemistry turned it into a peach skin and floral champagne soap pretty quickly. Maybe it's something in the diamond note and orange blossom combining with the champagne, because I usually don't have trouble with champagne in a scent. It stays close to the skin, too. It smells lovely in the vial, so I know this one is a skin chemistry fail.

    Prince Lir

In the bottle: Citrus, fougere, and ambergris, with touches of juniper and basil. On my skin: Citrusy fougere infused with some juniper and a hint of basil. The ambergris shows up later and gains strength over time so that after a few hours, it is ambergris over citrusy fougere and juniper. Verdict: I was mostly curious about this one because of the vanilla fougere, but I am not getting any vanilla from this, sadly. It's still a really nice fougere, scent, though, and if you're a fan of Vicomte de Valmont, you'll probably like Prince Lir, too. I am going to see if the boy would like to wear this, as I think it would smell wonderful on him.

    Pink Grapefruit and Pomelo

This is my favorite Duet that I have tried thus far. Tart and bright really is the best way to describe it. You've got the Lab's wonderful pink grapefruit backed by the pomelo (which I've never tried before, but I melted a pomelo wax tart before this arrived to train my nose on the note ). The pink grapefruit is the dominant note, but the pomelo gains strength over time. This scent is rather short-lived on my wrists, but I could still smell it in the crooks of my elbows and on my shirt throughout the day when I wore this. This is the first duet that I think is great on its own, and I am so happy that I blind bottled this one!
  23. doomsday_disco

    White Sandalwood and Clove

White sandalwood and clove is more like CLOVE and white sandalwood. It has a strong, dusty clove note backed by a light, dry, white sandalwood. If you ever thought, "I like this scent, but I wish it had a little more clove!", get thee some of this layering note. I like it, but I think I prefer Sweet Clove SN.
  24. doomsday_disco

    Hyrrokkin

Hyrrokkin is definitely a dark, masculine-leaning pine blend. The black pine note is the dominant note throughout, with the green vetiver behind it. I only got a touch of earthy patchouli after a few hours of wear. The coriander was not noticeable to me, nor was the smoke. I think this smells nice, but it's the type of pine scent I'd prefer as a room scent.
  25. doomsday_disco

    Lemongrass & Tonka

Right out of the gate, I get the lemongrass and the tonka, but the lemongrass is quick to declare dominion over everything. The throw is all lemongrass. I have to put my nose up to my arm and inhale really deeply to get any tonka. It's a nice, bright, peppy sort of scent, and I could see it being good for layering to brighten something up... but I probably wouldn't wear it on its own.
