Shannihilation

In the bottle this is perfect eggnog. So yummy!! Once I put it on though, it turns a little plasticky. Not horribly so, but I can smell it. And it's keeping any of the notes from really being recognizeable. I can smell just a hint of the nutmeg and I can sort of smell the cream, but for now the plastic smell is taking over. I'm going to give it about 15 minutes and see what happens and then finish writing this.... Yup, still plastic. I'm so sad because I was REALLY looking forward to this scent. I guess I'll have to stick to Red Lantern as my "eggnog" scent. And this bottle will have to be a hair scent or something that I dab on my hands and then rub them together to then rub on whatever clothing I have on. I'm so sad!

In the bottle the sandalwood and cedar seem to stand out the most but I can pick up the almond milk too, keeping those two from being too sharp. As it starts to dry some of the other notes start to come through a bit more. It's hard to pick out individual ones though, this blends so smoothly. It's almost foody but there's also an incensey kind of thing going on. It's really interesting and very nice. I like it alot... It kind of reminds me of being at Nazef again. The smell of the different Hookahs, the rice pudding, the perfumce of the dancers, and the incense in the background.

In the bottle this is all dark, rich, cocoa. Wet on my skin though the cinnamon immediately starts to come out. As it dries the coffee and the brown sugar start to come through. The cocoa falls back and evens out a little and the coffee and cinnamon start to take over. It's a really interesting blend and I'm enjoying it quite a bit, even if my husband isn't. *grins* To be honest his first response when he smelled it was "that smells like shit!" Apparently he's not much of a cocoa fan. My son kind of likes it though. He says it'd be perfect if it didn't have the coffee in it. I dunno, I think they're both kinda crazy. I really like it. It's such a warm scent.... Brings to mind sitting in front of a fire with a cup of hot cocoa that has a cinnamon stick swirling in it.

I got this imp in a swap recently and had never even sniffed it until today. And even when I grabbed it, I didn't sniff it before I put it on. Instead I sniffed my wrist after I put it on. My first thought was that this was a perfect fall scent. The most immediate note was the leaves and the woods. The florals didn't come out until after I'd had it on for a few minutes. This scent is so pretty. It's very light but warm and has a real crispness to it without being sharp. It's incredible. How had I not ever even tested this until now?

In the bottle this is very sweet with a sharp bite lurking at the edges. Which of course fits with the tabloid references. They're often supposedly sweet stories but really they're veiled insults. Once I put it on it becomes a fluffy sort of scent. Pink. It reminds me of a body powder that my grandma used to get at The Jones Store. I loved using it after a bath. Grabbing the huge fluffy puff... Clouds of this fabulous scent would follow me through the house for hours. After it's been on for a bit though it mellows out alot. I get almost a foody feel from it which I am guessing is because of the vanilla. Vanilla loves me. It still feels like a very pale and girly pink. The florals aren't as sharp and the vanilla is definitely a dominant note along with the lemon blossom. I don't like this as much as Pruno, but I do like it alot. It's very feminine. A girly girl with a femme fatale edge. My skin seems to eat it pretty quickly though. Which of course fits the empty and fleeting feel it was meant to have.

Jailhouse hooch. Distilled in toilets, this vintage is comprised of chow line droppings, including oranges, apples, ketchup, and sugar. Okay, so this actually has been the scent of the last three days. I am in love. Waiting for this to arrive was killing me. When the release was posted, so many people were going "ewwww" and I was going "SQUEE!!!" because I just knew that as odd as it sounded, these notes would totally work. In the bottle this is OMG Booze!! Like totally I could get rip roaring drunk just smelling this booze. And it's a sweet booze. Mostly the apples I think. But as soon as I put it on, it starts to change. Yes ladies and gents, this is a morpher. The booze fades and the oranges, apples, and sugar come to the front and smell clean and feminine. After it's been on for about 10 minutes, everything plays together really well and it all just blends. I can pick out the individual notes still, but none of them are overpowering the rest. And if I pay very close attention, I can get occasional whiffs of ketchup. Not alot or even overly noticeable if you're not really looking for it. And it's more of the sweetness that you can smell in ketchup rather than a tomato sort of smell. I love Pruno. I will be hunting down more of this. Oh yes. Must have more.

In the bottle this is very woody. Sharp but with an underlying sweetness that I assume is the caramel. Wet on my skin it's almost unpleasant. Very sharp and deep. It makes me crinkle my nose but at the same time, I end up sniffing it again. I'm kind of fighting the urge to wash it off. It's making me sad because I was sure that I'd love this. Okay, I have been wearing this for about fifteen minutes now, and it's mellowed a bit. It's still mostly wood though with the sweeter components peeking through occasionally. It's also still slightly unpleasant. Which makes sense to me because while I think ventriloquist dummies are fun, they also weird me out. I like this, but at the same time, I hate it. My nose is so confused.

In the bottle this is all vanilla. Like cookies. It smells so yummy. I tried this initially when Melissa came to see me before I moved. She thought it went to Play-Doh on her and had me smell it. I thought she smelled awesome so she let me try some and I fell in love. I smelled myself all day long. That amused her lots but I seriously could not stop sniffing myself. The longer this was on the better it smelled. Wet on my skin, it's still almost all vanilla but I can pick out just a bit of the pink grapefruit coming through adding just a little "peekaboo" to the scent. After awhile the jasmine comes through but it doesn't stay noticeable for long. The scent smoothes back out into a sweet, foody scent. Kind of like walking into a bakery or a doughnut shop. The vanillas in this are incredible. And I have no doubt that I'll sit here and sniff myself all night tonight. I already know I'm gonna need more. Lots more. Lots.

In the bottle and wet I get cocoa and orange rind and maybe a bit of the star fruit. On my skin, I've had it on for about a half an hour now and I am still getting the cocoa, but the vanilla bean is coming through now and taking away some of the bitterness, there is still a sweet floral tone that I'm not so sure of. This is very complex and it's hard to pick out the individual notes because they're blending together so well. I like it, and it's a nice scent and I'm sure I'll wear it pretty often. But to be honest? I like the '05 Thirteen better.

I wasn't too sure about this at first. In the imp it was so sweet. It immediately brought the word "sticky" to mind. Now that I've had it on for awhile though it's very smooth. The violet has faded deep into the background except for an occasional waft, and the clove and spices have taken over with the tonka making it all creamy and soft. This is fabulous. I didn't think it had much throw, but Bobby just walked into my room and while he was still across the room from me he said "Oh you smell GOOD!" so I guess it does have some throw after all. I like this alot.

In the imp this seems to be a very soft vanilla. And it's just a little bit powdery... On my skin it stays a very soft, slightly powdery vanilla. And maybe some coconut or a light skin musk... This is so beautiful. It's very soft and feminine and has an almost innocent sexiness. I may have to get a bottle of this. It's so gorgeous!

In the imp this is stale coffee. Very strong stale coffee with a rose undertone. I actually wrinkled my nose. But I put it on anyway. This has been on my wishlist forever so I was excited to get it as a frimp. Wet on my skin it stays stale coffee and roses for quite awhile. Now that it's dry though (two hours later) I still get a bit of coffee but it's more floral now. The jasmine and roses are the dominant notes with the tonka and vanilla keeping them from being too cloying. And the coffee is just barely there, keeping the scent crisp and bold. It's fading fairly quickly though. Now that it's dry I like it alot better. I'll leave it on my wishlist I think.

In the bottle I could swear this had cherry in it. Which did not make me happy. But I think what I was actually smelling is the currant. Wet on my skin this is a rich, sweet, dark scent but it still has a very fruity overtone. But once it dries down the musks really come to the front along with the dragon's blood. These leave the fig and the currant in the background to add just the right bit of sweetness and passion. I really like this alot.... But so far I haven't not liked any of the Ars Draconis blends.

When I sniff this in the bottle I immediately get a mental image of walking through the Garden District. there is nothing like a New Orleans flower garden. The colors and the smells... It's intoxicating. On my skin this is all spanish moss and roses with the slightest whisper of jasmine. And maybe a bit of skin musk. When it's wet it has alot of throw and the roses are the predominant note. Once it dries though this is soft and sexy and warm... It makes me smile remembering being kissed walking through the District... I want more. Much more. Is this going to be released soon? Please?

In the bottle this is a very strong fruity floral. It has an almost bitter edge to it. On my skin it holds true to that initial impression. The cucumber seems to be the dominant note only letting the other notes peek through once in awhile. I've had this on for about an hour now and while it's faded quite a bit, it's still pretty strong. And it's still an overly sweet floral. Overly ripe fruit and crushed flowers. I don't like it. I can see this being a very soft feminine scent on other people, but it just doesn't work on me. Maybe I can swap it for another bottle of Schwarzer Mond.

In the bottle, it's a very sexy, dark, masculine scent. The musk and amber seem to be the top notes. Mmmm... the naughty ideas and mental images this gives me! On my skin it had a sort of sticky feel initially. That would be the resins. This is a very commanding and alluring scent. It's so sexy! It's soft but dominant. It's quiet but has a very definite presence. It makes me think of a very sexy and dominant man sitting in a shadowed corner of the room, waiting for me to follow his commands and tell him all of my darkest desires. Yeah, I told you that this made me think naughty thoughts. I'm picking up a bit of a Snake Oil note in here. But just the barest idea of it. The patchouli in this blend is incredible. I like patchouli anyway but this is just stunning. It's dark and deep but not dirty. This scent is so warm and dark and mysterious. It's so incredibly sexy. I think I'll need to grab another bottle of it on the forum or Ebay. Because I know I'll wear this alot myself and I plan to slather Clint in it too. OMG yum!! Seriously, I can't say enough about this blend. Definitely has taken a spot among my favorites. I can't stop sniffing myself!! This is so incredibly sexy. I can't even begin to rave about it enough. Bravo Brian!!!

In the bottle this is all jasmine. I couldn't pick out any of the other notes. Wet on my skin it stays true to being all jasmine and not much else. I can pick up a little bit of the tea but it's very faint. Dry I am getting teak and cherry blossom. It reminds me a bit of one of my Carnaval Noir blends but I can't place which one right off hand. It's very smooth and creamy. Polished teak. I was hoping for more of the tea to come out, but this is a really nice scent anyway. Even though it's not exactly what I was hoping for, I am glad that I got it. I'll probably wear it quite a bit this fall and winter.

In the bottle I get cool lime with the tea as an undertone. It's yummy!! On my skin the tea really comes to the front. I was hoping for this. The Lab's tea always does such nice things on me. I really can't smell the mint at all. It's all aloe, lime, and tea on me. The tea and the aloe are the more dominant notes with the lime and verbena adding just a bit of an edge and "coolness" to it. This is amazing. I'm so glad that I got two bottles. I was sure I'd love it as soon as I saw the notes. It's like Beth made this just for me!! *grins* This is sweet, yummy goodness. And it really is a "refreshing scent"!!

TRB is due to arrive tomorrow and I am feeling irritable and moody and kind of just "blah" today so I decided that this would be a good time to try Bitch for the first time. In the bottle this is very strong. It's very herbal smelling but with a definite floral overtone. I just can't figure out exactly what. One minute I think roses and the next I think lavender. I'm also picking up a note similar to eucalyptus or camphor maybe... And I'm almost positive that I am getting some Chamomile in here too. And something else that I know I've smelled before but I can't place what. It's really bugging me! I'm really tempted to run upstairs and start sniffing all of my bottles to try and place it. On my skin it's pretty overpowering. I've not had it on for very long though. The scent is almost unpleasant but something keeps it right at the edge of being kind of nice. If I put my nose right to my wrist and smell, it's not good. But when it just wafts up and I catch just a hint of it, it's very nice. Still a floral herbal scent. Heavy on the herbal. It is making me feel more relaxed though. In fact, I feel so much more relaxed and mellow that I'm tempted to go and take a nap.

In the bottle I get lots of musk and patchouli. But a soft patchouli. Not the overpowering bold patchouli. And behind that I can pick up just a touch of vanilla. On my skin, Snake Oil. A darker, slightly bolder Snake Oil. It's bolder, but softer somehow. This is such a complex scent and while each sniff makes me think "Snake Oil" it's also not that exactly. It smells a bit different each time I sniff it. The different notes take turns being the dominant scent and they play hie and seek a bit. This is very sexy and soft dominant at the same time. Mysterious and enchanting. It's incredible.

In the bottle this is thick, rich cocoa with cream floating on the top. It's so yummy. On my skin it's not so great. It dries down to a sweet plastic smell. Kind of like a candy bar wrapper or something. I can still smell the chocolate and cream, but there's also a very definite "plastic" tone. I love Bliss so much and I was really excited about this one. Thinking it would be a richer version of Bliss... But it's not. Not for me. *cries*

In the bottle the first thing I thought was chocolate almond bark. But then I sniffed again. And my next thought was HEARTH!! Which thrilled me because I adore Hearth 05. On my skin this is spicy and smooth and sweet and rich. It still reminds me alot of Hearth. But foodier and with less smoke. This is really fabulous. I was excited about this one the first time I read the description and I was not disappointed. The sweet cakes and wine are definitely the dominant notes but the milk and honey are definitely there softening the edge and making this a very rich, seductive, and very sexy scent.

In the bottle this smells sweet to me with a sort of creamy tone. Maybe that's the amber. I think the sweetness is the ginger. On my skin it's a very sweet, clean scent. It smells a little like the tea blends do on me and I was surprised to see that there is no tea listed in the notes. The verbena is the the most dominant note on me making this a "sparkling" scent. The ginger and rain are very easy to pick out as well and the sage comes and goes. I really don't get alot of the amber or the grass. I think the amber just smoothes this all out and keeps it crisp without it being sharp. I really like this alot. I see alot of people say it's a golden scent to them, but to me it's a clear "sparkly" scent...

In the bottle, apples. Juicy apples. On my skin it starts out smelling like an orange creamsicle. But that doesn't last long. Then it goes very sweet and "perfumey" which I'm not crazy about. I was hoping for lots of the skin musk and honey, but instead I am getting amped up rose and peaches. It's a really pretty blend, but my skin is amping it like crazy and making it really overwhelmingly strong. I'll try it again in a few days and see what happens then, but for now it looks like it may be headed to the sales box.

OMG. In the bottle this is soft and deep and "golden". It's very warm and sexy. And on my skin it gets even better. Soft and spicy and warm and very sexy!! It's a very tropical scent. Sunshine and warm breezes and waves lapping at the shore. I love this. Wow.
