In the vial: Salty fresh ocean air! On me: Oh, this scent on me is true to the scent in the vial. This is simply gorgeous! It reminds me of being out on the open seas, smelling the salty spray - but this scent is a tad stronger, and concentrated into a lovely bottle. Verdict: Amazing. Never giving this one up! Rating: 5/5

In the vial: This is an aquatic scent, but it has something obviously dark in it too - I just can't place it. On me: The scent is light and aquatic with a very sharp and tangy undertone. I usually think of most aquatics as summer scents, but this one is so cold that it definitely will work best in the wintertime. Verdict: I love this! Glad I have a bottle. Rating: 5/5

In the vial: Green, clean, woods. On me: Same as in the vial, but even more spicy/woody/green and lots more clean. There's a bit of creaminess in here, too, but I have no idea what could cause that - perhaps the maple or dogwood. This is an incredible blend. Verdict: Would love to get my hands on a bottle of this. It really is too bad that it was discontinued. Rating: 5/5

In the vial: Very light rain. On me: The very sweet smell of an afternoon rainstorm. I can detect a bit of a floral in there, but barely. It smells like I walked outside and can smell the fresh wet grass and flowers and ozone-filled air. Verdict: Keeper! Too bad it's a discontinued scent. Rating: 5/5

In the vial: Creamy, stale, buttery milk. On me: Yep, still stale milk. This is really gross on my skin. Verdict: Swapped it away! Rating: 1/5

In the vial: All I smells is bamboo. And something else - perhaps that's the oude - whatever that is. On me: It's so weird - for such an odd, light scent, it really does remind me of the coldness of the holiday season. It smells very lemony to me, but I normally hate lemon scents, and I like this. Ooh, suddenly there's something spicy in there. Maybe that's what the oude is. I really like this blend! Verdict: Definitely a keeper. I don't think I need to find a bottle, though. Rating: 5/5

In the bottle: This is sweet, sharp, and dark all at the same time! On me: I smell lavender, poppy, ylang-ylang, sandalwood, and bamboo. I don't pick up very much of the chamomile at all. Everything is blended together extremely well and this smells absolutely incredible on my skin! Verdict: This is one of my favorites. So glad I found a second bottle! Rating: 5/5

In the vial: Lavender, jasmine, musk. On me: Exactly how it is in the vial. Perhaps hte musk is slightly stronger, but the scent doesn't change much, which is good. As time goes on, it fades slightly, but not that much. This is an extremely relaxing scent. Verdict: I ordered a 10ml of this. It's one of my absolute favorites. Not only does it smell wonderful, but I've had great results when I wear it to bed - it makes me sleep very well. Rating: 5/5

In the vial: Very strong, almost medicinal. Lavender and something else I don't know the name of. On me: Considerably softer on me than in the vial. I think the medicinal scent is lemon, but it's overpowering the lavender a great deal. Hmm. There appears to be something else in here that almost smells resiny, too. Verdict: This is an odd scent. I think I'll hold on to it and test it out when I go to sleep. Rating: 2/5

In the vial: Very sharp lavender. With something else that I don't know the name of. On me: The sharpness of this blend softens when it hits my skin. It's still there, just not in the forefront. It smells really nice and comforting! Verdict: Keeper! Rating: 3/5

In the vial: This smells disgusting. Like rotten cherries or something. On me: Well, it's not quite as bad on me as it is in the vial, but still, ugh. Gross. Verdict: So bad I had to wash my hands afterwards. Definitely not for me. Rating: 0/5

In the vial: Really oily cinnamon. On me: It smells oily and like powder mixed with some kind of spice. A few minutes later, it's dried down and it's become rather nice, actually. It's a very green scent on me, with some kind of spices and a bit of powder and maybe a hint of rose. Verdict: I won't be buying a bottle, but as this is a Voodoo blend, I look forward to trying it out with a bit of intent! Rating: 3/5

In the vial: Spicy, on top of something light. On me: This is like straight cinnamon on me, but not quite as powerful as other scents, like Serpent's Kiss. I much prefer cinnamon when it's blended with other scents. It may be a "lighter" cinnamon scent, but it's too strong for me. Verdict: Off to swaps/sales. Rating: 2/5

This was a frimp. I'd never seen a description or review before, so I didn't know what to expect upon sniffing. In the vial: Peaches! On me: Peaches, calmed down by musk. I probably would not wear this if not for the musk, as I don't like fruity scents very much... but I think this smells very nice and light. I do enjoy the scent of peaches, so that's a plus! Verdict: Keeper! It will be a nice summer scent that won't annoy me with its fruitiness. Rating: 4/5

In the vial: Peach, clove, orange On me: Mmmm, this scent is so spicy. The cinnamon and clove immediately come to the forefront, with peach and orange hovering behind. The incense surrounds all of the notes of the blend, and surprisingly the patchouli plays a very small part. This is a really fiery scent! It actually makes my hand itch a bit, but I don't mind. I can see myself wearing this when I want to feel powerful and self-confident. Verdict: Definite keeper. I will definitely give this a few more tries before I decide whether it's bottleworthy. Nevertheless, I love this one! Rating: 5/5

In the vial: Cocoa powder. On me: Still cocoa powder. I don't think I'll wear this by itself - I much prefer it as a layering scent. It works nicely layered with Tenochtitlan. Verdict: definitely a keeper, but I don't need a bottle. Rating: 3/5

The Native American Creator / Trickster God of Chaos and Change. The warmth of doeskin, dry plains grasses and soft, dusty woods warmed by amber and a downy, gentle coat of deep musk. In the vial: Grass. Doeskin. Musk. On me: Mmmm. All of those scents, warmed by amber and spiced a bit by wood. This is a really gorgeous scent. The amber, musk, and woods give it lasting power, though it doesn't last for more than a couple hours. Verdict: Gorgeous. I would like a bottle, and I don't mind reapplying. It's so pretty. Rating: 4/5

In the vial: Resin and salt. On me: Ah, now I can smell the other notes in this blend. The tobacco and lavender are the most prominent to me, followed by what I think is labdanum, and then the sweetness of nag champa and the softness of sandalwood. After a bit, the nag champa really starts to surface, and mmm, this blend is so pretty! Verdict: Keeper! Maybe a bottle someday. Rating: 5/5

In the vial: fruity, floral, amber On me: I admit that when I agreed to swap for this scent, I was not sure at all if I'd like it...but OMG, this is now a favorite of mine! I know that there's patchouli in this blend, but all I can smell are the amber, rose, and gardenia. This blend is absolutely heavenly on me, and the flowers give the amber a delightful sweetness that I can't recalling having smelled before in a BPAL amber blend. Verdict: I need a 5ml of this! It is perfect for the summertime! Rating: 5/5

In the vial: Red wine, musk, fig. On me: This smells exactly like caramel apples! Just like other red wine BPAL scents, it turns apple on me. I actually think this is a really gorgeous scent. Verdict: Great blend, but I'm not sure yet if I need a bottle. It might be nice once fall rolls around, since it really smells like caramel apples to me! Rating: 5/5
-
In the vial: Black, wet leather. On me: Mmm. This smells like leather and dragon's blood! It must be the combination of musk, amber, and myrrh. I love this! It's a sexy scent. Verdict: Definitely keeping this one. Can't believe I didn't like it on the first try. I like it now! Rating: 4/5
-
In the vial: Mmm. Amber? Spices? And ozone! On me: This smells amaaaazing. It's like Lightning, but with a luscious, warm resin. I could definitely get used to wearing this one a lot. Verdict: Love this. May want a bottle of it. Rating: 5/5
-
In the vial: Something sharp and sickly. On me: This is absolutely disgusting. I had to wash it off before I threw up. Verdict: Get this away from me. NOW! Rating: -10000000 / 5

In the vial: Sandalwood and benzoin. On me: This is surprisingly light, for an incense blend. I do smell the incense quite a bit, along with the sandalwood. I smell the rose in here, but the myrrh really overpowers it - it overpowers nearly everything except the incense, actually... so it's much darker now after just a few minutes. An intriguing blend, indeed. Verdict: I think this one's a keeper. It is certainly a unique scent. I like it and want to give it another try. Rating: 3/5

In the vial: Pineapple! On me: Pineapple, banana, orange...all warmed up by a hot spiciness. This is an odd fruit blend, but I actually like it a lot! Verdict: Could I actually be considering a bottle of this scent? I'm digging it! I'll have to remember to wear it a few times this summer so I can make a better decision. Rating: 4/5
