in the decant: Sharply herbal.
on: Warms quite a bit; no one note dominates.
-
in the decant: Stark, yet sweet with early spring flowers.
on: Lilac predominates, with just a hint of bergamot, over the warmth of cedar and frankincense.
-
in the decant: Stark and herbal-woody.
on: Warms up quite a bit, becoming almost floral over the woody-earthy. Quite subtle.
-
in the decant: Fruity sweet.
on: The tonka and vanilla develop underneath; this never becomes strongly Vanilla. The orchid is more gentle than heady.
As so often happens, this one reminds me of something else that I can't ... quite ... grasp.
I like this and got a particularly special compliment while wearing it, so I've ordered a bottle.

Proud, contented, and aglow with joy, she has conquered her lover with her charms, and she knows with all her soul that he is completely and utterly devoted to her. In bliss, she basks in the blessings of the God of Love: golden amber, oude, red sandalwood, massoia bark, honey, and currant.
I fell hard for this one! I'm already halfway through my first bottle.
in the bottle: The first sense is of an earthy greenness.
on: The honey and amber appear, rich, sweet and seductive, coiling around that greenness, whatever it is. The sandalwood is subtle, but does add a woody warmth to the drydown.
Throw and staying power are good. -
There is the most delightful green tinge to this oil!
in the decant: Verbena sweetened by fennel and anise. Reminds me a bit of The Star.
on: Much the same.
-
in the decant: Sweet, like a buttercream but without being foody (!?).
on: The musk, and just a hint of the rose otto, rise to darken the sweetness. As it settles in, a spiciness - almost cinnamony - appears.
-
in the decant: Piercing and intoxicating; lavender and something that reminds me of lily.
on: No one note dominates, like a fresh-picked bouquet: florals over light herbals. Weak throw and staying power.
-
in the decant: Bright - not quite "mint" - and a light white floral. Ah! It's orchid.
on: Orchid, softened by rose, with just a hint of musk. Lovely: feminine, youthful and cheerful.
-
in the decant: Cold leather predominates.
on: The sandalwood steps up, with tonka and Snake Oil bringing up the rear -but overall it is still leather.
-
in the decant: An Indian importers!
on: Much the same; faint, but well-balanced and complex.
-
in the decant: Bitter-spicy.
on: Much the same; the cinnamon+cassia is too strong for me, with a bitter-pungency that I do not like.
-
in the decant: Boy, this reminds me of something - why can I never think of what stuff reminds me of!? Is it spirit gum? (only much subdued, of course!) It is a pine-resiny-ness - though there's nothing like that listed in the notes - with the woodiness of frankincense faintly behind.
on: Sweetens up a bit, almost skin-musky; very faint throw and staying power.
-
Snake Oil with ho wood, teak, black musk, and bamboo.
in the decant: Fruity-woody, something like snapped branches.
on: I guess the bamboo is that green-fruitiness; the spicy vanilla of Snake Oil emerges, gently, on the drydown. -
in the decant: Minty, like freshly crushed leaves.
on: The green tea develops through the mint and - waay in the back - the warmth of Snake Oil rises.
-
Snake Oil with vetiver, black coconut, vanilla, and opoponax.
in the decant: Coconut, and something orangey (? yeah, I know!)
on: Mostly coconut, over Snake Oil. -
in the decant: Sharp, bitter herbal, almost like a furniture oil.
on: A fruity floral, with the Snake Oil emerging beneath.
-
in the decant: Crisp, bright fruit - smells like pear to me, but it must be apple plus orange.
on: The florals emerge to the fore, making this feminine and sophisticated. I do not get any Snake Oil from this one.
-
The oil is so thick that it takes a moment to ooze down the side of the vial as I invert it to mix!
in the decant: Strongly cocoa, over Snake Oil.
on: Cocoa and Snake Oil, with a hint of teak, and a bit spicy on the drydown.
-
Snake Oil with oakmoss, sea moss, and olive leaf.
in the decant: Earthy, a bit masculine. Again, the Snake Oil is not particularly evident.
on: Mossy-earthy; dark vanilla of Snake Oil develops gradually on drydown.
Tried this on hubby and ...
He may need a bottle. -
in the decant: Very fruity, reminiscent of a B&BW lotion. (Not that that's a bad thing!)
on: Much the same: bright and cheery. I do not get much Snake Oil from this one.
-
in the decant: Snake Oil and almond.
on: Sweet almond. The myrrh comes out on drydown, to be overtaken by almond again - always grounded with Snake Oil. Heady and rich.
Love it.
-
In the bottle: Fruity sweet.
On: Soft, sweet and gentle; almost reminds be a bit of Annabel Lee, with vanilla. The amber comes out gently on drydown.
This one deserves its reputation as a favorite; sadly, throw and staying power are weak.
-
In the bottle: Amber and bit of sweetness.
On: Amber and honey, like a lighter Jacob’s Ladder or a darker Et Lux Fuit. Throw and staying power are mild.

in the decant: A little spicy, a little sweet, a little cold.
on: Much the same: a complex dance.
