Donna con Ventaglio On: Wood and bergamot with a bit of the blood orange. I have the feeling this won't develop well on me. Overall: I didn't keep very close track of how this developed on me. It was just OK; sort of a sweet/wood scent.
-
Mango Lychee Champagne On: I've been buying this mango / orange juice blend lately, so I'm picking up the mango right away. Of course, there's the fizzy champagne note foremost in this one. 2 hours in: Slightly fruity champagne. Overall: Like all of the champagne oils I've tried so far, the fizziness of this overwhelms everything else on me.
-
Blood & Champagne On: Dark, sweet champagne. It's still fizzy, but not as overwhelmingly so as a lot of the other champagne oils are on me. I have high hopes for this one. 4.5 hours on: A soft wisp of champagne with something dark underneath. Overall: This is by far the best of the champagne oils on my skin. Yay!

Crypt King On: This smells amazing on me. Lots of something pink-like (the oakmoss, maybe?), darkly sweet pomegranate, and an assortment of other various delicious and beautiful things. I'm loving this one. 1 hour in: Sweeter now and, unfortunately, there seems to be an odd/vegetable note coming forward. It's mostly covered by the fougere and the bit of fruit, though, so that's something. 12 hours later: One of my partners said, "You smell like hippie," when I got to her place. It was a complement. Overall: This is a definite keeper for me.
-
Tree of Life On: Smooth. I'm getting a nice hint of cocoa with a bit of clary sage (love) and some words and moss. Very, very pretty. 1 hour in: Mostly woods with a hint of tonka. Still very pretty. 4.5 hours in: Smooth and a bit sweet. Overall: I am shocked at how nice this smells on me. It was a rather lovely surprise.
-
Mahana On: Lots of delicious peach and creamy pineapple. Not as heavy/syrupy as I thought it would be, which is good. 4.5 hours in: A warm, sweet scent with a fruity edge. Overall: This is just OK on me. I really like it at first, though.
-
The Zieba Tree On: I'm definitely getting a fruity vibe from this, but with a lot of powder and musks. Very pretty. Half an hour in: Powdery, fruity, and very perfumey. 5 hours in: Powdery and a bit earthy. Overall: This was really nice when I first put it on, but my skin chemistry makes it boring.
-
On: Sweet, smooth, and powdery, with rose and smoke. Very, very nice. Half an hour in: Mostly a sweet mint with a hint of flowers. I don't like it as much now; it's a bit sickly sweet on my skin. 5 hours in: Powdery and sweet, with a sharp edge. Overall: This didn't smell great on me once it dried.
-
Thanks a bunch! I'll have to try that out.

The Little Sparrow On: Wow. This is really interesting. I think I'm getting lots of sedge with a bit of sweet brown amber. It has a bit of a soapy edge to it on me, but there's a greenness, too. 1 hour in: Green and a bit dry. Very brown in a dried tallgrass sort of way, if that makes sense. Nice. 2.5 hours in: Mostly, this smells like dry grass. I really like it. 5.5 hours in: A soft, dry grass scent. There's a tiny hint of sweetness in the background. Overall: This is really, really nice. When first on my skin, it doesn't smell like anything else I've ever tried. Definitely unique and appealing.
-
Spicebush Swallowtail On: This smells like spicy maple syrup on me. 1 hour in: Incredibly spicy with a hint of sweetness. 2.5 hours in: All spice. 5.5 hours in: Still mostly spicy, but with a hint of that maple syrup note from when I first put it on. Overall: Spicy scents don't really do it for me, and this is no exception. It smells nice on me, but that's all.
-
Violens On: Musk and sandalwood and leather. Obviously. Ha! 1 hour in: A very nice, slightly sweet musk with leather and smooth sandalwood. Nice. 1.5 hours in: This is a very nice, smooth leather scent on me. There's just a hint of sweetness to it. 5 hours in: Pretty. Leather with a sweet, powdery edge. Overall: I liked this way more than I thought I would. Definitely a pleasant scent.
-
Sachs On: Lovely. A really nice mix of chamomile and vanilla, with a bit of a smoky edge. 1 hour in: This smells like something sweet and woods on me. Blah. 1.5 hours in: This is weird on me. Sort of sharp and soapy, sort of vegetable-y. 5 hours in: Powdery, sweet wood. Overall: I like this at first, but it doesn't develop nicely on me.

Golden mead, fermented with fruit, nutmeg, clove, cinnamon, ginger root, sweet-briar, rosemary, and lemon. Mead Moon On: Sweet, fermented honey with a hint of lemon. 1 hour in: There's an earthy note coming forward that I don't really like. 7.5 hours in: A sweet, warm scent. Very pretty. Overall: This is a really nice scent once it dries on my skin.

Smoky Moon 2009: Tristesses de la Lune
grrrlennyl replied to Delirium1009's topic in A Little Lunacy
Smoky Moon On: A soft, woodsy scent with a soapy floral background. 1 hour in: A bit soapy, still, but with a nice, sweet floral to it. 7.5 hours in: Powdery, and a bit sweet. Definitely floral, but no longer soapy. Overall: This is nice, but not something I would wear often. -
Velvet Unicorn On: Sweet, fruity cotton candy. 1 hour in: This is starting to smell vegetable-y on me. This sometimes happens with the sweeter, foody blends. Boo. 6.5 hours in: Still bad. Overall: This turns bad on me.
-
Voodoo Lily On: Sweet, heady lily with an earthy edge. 1 hour in: Fresher now and not as sweet. Heady and musty, with a slight hint of something anise-like. Nice. 6.5 hours in: Powdery, sweet lily. Overall: This is a really pretty, interesting lily scent.
-
Thirteen (August 2010) Note: Beth's chocolate notes tend to go weird/bad on me. On: Lots of dark chocolate with a hint of something peppery, immediately going to a bit floral. Interesting. 3 hours in: A bit sweet, but mostly gone. Overall: This didn't last on me.
-
Twinkle, Twinkle Little Bat On: Lots of incredibly sweet honeydew. I can't pick anything else out. 5 hours in: Sweet, powdery, and a bit soapy, with a hint of a vegetable-like note. 6.5 hours in: Powdery and sweet. Overall: Melon notes aren't really my thing. This was pretty, though.
-
The Death-Horse On: Incredibly dark opoponax. Earthy and slightly sour. Heady. 5 hours in: Very sweet. Powdery and a bit odd. 6.5 hours in: The opoponax is the main scent I'm getting. Sweet and powdery. Overall: I didn't really like this on me.
-
Okayaki On: Very, very faint. This smells white and powdery to me with a bit of sweetness. Pretty. 1 hour in: I can smell the warmness of the cardamom and the sweetness of the amber now, but it's still mostly powdery and sweet. Still pretty and not very strong. 3 hours in: This is mostly sweet and powdery. Still pretty. 6 hours in: Still sweet and powdery. Overall: This is just OK on me. I wish it stayed more true to the original, very white scent it had at first.
-
Needlework On: Wow. This smells like a sour (meaning, heavy on the lemon) tea to me with lots of flowers. I'm getting something that reminds me a bit of anise, but only faintly in the background. 1 hour in: Very faint. Powdery, with the slightly sweet citrus scent. 3 hours in: The lilac and lavender are coming forward more now. Still powdery and sweet. 6 hours in: Powdery and floral. Overall: This is really pretty once it dries, almost like a really decadent scented dusting powder.

Beanman & Beanwoman Prepare to Attack the Vagina
grrrlennyl replied to capnlizaveta's topic in Lupercalia
Beanman & Beanwoman Prepare to Attack the Vagina On: So, so pretty. I love the skin musk and coconut milk together, so creamy and beautiful. The white amber is giving it a sweet edge and the orange blossom is lightening it up a little. I am getting a hing of a play-doh like scent in the background. I hope it goes away. 1 hour in: Powdery, floral, sweet, and vaguely fruity. 3 hours in: Powdery and a bit soapy, but still sweet and fruity, too. 6 hours in: Very soft. Powdery and soapy. Overall: This doesn't really work for me. -
Spider Note: This is another oil that I adore and wear a lot, but never reviewed. On: So beautiful. An watery cologne scent. It's difficult for me to tease out the various notes, but I love how this smells on me. 1 hour in: Still lovely. There's a hint of sweetness, but it's mostly cologne. LOVE. 4 hours in: Powdery and citrussy, I think from the white ginger and lime. Fresh and cologne-y. Overall: I adore this, but I already said that. It's just such a great scent.
-
Orange On: A beautifully smooth and slightly sweet orange scent. 3 hours in: I think this is more of an orange blossom scent on me. It's going kind of weird and vegetable-y. 7 hours in: A powdery, sweet orange scent. Overall: This is a really pretty orange scent. I think it would be really great for warm summer days, since it's not overpowering.
