at first: holy jasmine, batman. on: all jasmine, all the time. 2 hours later: all jasmine. 6 hours later: soft, sweet, heady jasmine. overall: i like jasmine, but not enough to wear it on its own, which what it is on me in this blend.
-
at first: sweet, like almonds or cherries. on: overall fruity with sweet vanilla, but there's an odd note in the background. i'm wondering if it's red wine. 3 hours later: less chaotic than at first. dark, fruity wine. 4 hours later: sweet and dark. overall: this is lovely, but i have other red wine scents that work better on me.

at first: tons of ginger or lemon, plus something a bit sweet and incensy. on: lots of incense, with what i'm pretty sure is ginger. 2 hours later: a bit salty and incensy. 3 hours later: strong incense, with a bit of resin to it. very pretty. 5 hours later: soft incense. overall: this is a really nice blend. i really liked the initial blast of ginger, and the resinous incensy drydown was really pretty.

at first: sweet caramel. on: lighter. there's a bright note in this. maybe white musk? mostly, though, it's a swirl of caramel and other sweet notes. very nice. 2 hours later: sweet incense. 3 hours later: very sweet. mostly caramel and a bit of musk. 5 hours later: sweet caramel. overall: this manages to be sweet without being overly foody, heavy, or cloying. lovely stuff.

at first: spicy and sweet in the bottle. very much like sugar cookie. on: wow. dark patchouli and tons of musks, with that lovely sugar cookie-esque base. lovely. 3 hours later: faintly musky and sweet. 4 hours later: there's a sharp floral note to this now, but it's still mostly something sweet (maybe vanilla) and musk. lovely stuff. overall: i think this is what i wanted smut to smell like on me. i love that it's sweet and musky at the same time.
-
at first: something sweet with lots of dirt in the background. on: a sweet, lush flower and dirt. interesting. 1 hour later: floral, with some wet dirt. very pretty. 7 hours later: pretty much gone. overall: i was expecting something dark, earthy, and full of dirt. what i got was a lush, sweet floral with a lovely base of wet dirt. it's definitely a nice surprise and i'll be keeping my imp.

at first: very odd and definitely chaotic. sweet, dark, citrussy, earthy, and woodsy all at once. on: lots and lots of cedar and vetiver, with a pinch of saffon and maybe some tangerine hiding in the background. 1 hour later: cedar and vetiver. this is bad. 3 hours later: still bad. the sharpness of vetiver along with cedar and some odd saltiness. overall: i know it's a shocker, but this doesn't work on me.
-
at first: very fresh and almost a bit sharp. interesting. on: odd. i can't really pick the notes out on this. it's woodsy, herbal, and green with a definite sharpness to it. 1 hour later: smooth and soft. powdery and slightly sweet. this seemed sort of kitcheny at first to me, but now it's just simple and lovely. 3 hours later: a soft, sweet, powdery floral scent, with an almost candylike feel to it. overall: this is really pretty and not at all what i expected.
-
at first: odd. dark and earthy, but with a disconcerting sweetness underneath. on: very, very sweet. syrup-like. fresher than in the imp. 2.5 hours later: odd. there is definitely sandalwood in this, which makes me think of tushnamatay, but there's also a lot of sweetness and a soapy undertone. 4 hours later: a very floral, slightly soapy incense. overall: i like this when it first dries, but i think i'll just try layering tushnamatay with something sweet to get that effect.
-
at first: salty, wet wood. on: drier, more like old furniture. nice. 1 hour later: warm, dry wood. that salty note that i get from a lot of wood scents is gone. yay! 3.5 hours later: soft, dry wood, with a bit of sweetness to it. 5 hours later: barely there. like the smell of an old wooden drawer. overall: this was much nicer on me than i expected, but i can't see myself wearing it.
-
at first: strong and pungent. i don't think i'll like this. on: very, very dark and pungent. 1 hour later: sweeter with a smooth floral note. 4 hours later: lots of narcissus with a hint of civet. overall: this is definitely better after it dries down on me, but i still don't like it enough to keep it around.
-
at first: tons of something very astringent and pine-like, with a bit of verbena. on: still about the same. this reminds me of a page in this scratch 'n sniff book i had when i was little that was supposed to smell like a pine tree. 1 hour later: this just smells like dried wood. it's nice, but not really something i would wear. 3 hours later: barely there. dry wood. overall: i'm glad that i got to try this, but it isn't really something i would wear.
-
at first: very nice. i can smell the eucalyptus, mint, and citrus notes. on: mostly eucalyptus. 1 hour later: soft eucalyptus. it's lost its edge and is more of a soft wood scent. 3 hours later: a warm, dry wood scent. overall: this is ok, but i like it better in the imp than on me.
-
at first: musky, sweet, and floral. on: warm, sweet, and musky. lovely. 1 hour later: soft jasmine and musk, with a hint of another floral note. 3 hours later: jasmine and something woodsy. i think the red musk is turning on me. overall: red musk and i just do not get along. it's turned into something more reminiscent of wood than musk.
-
at first: sweet, dark plum. on: this is definitely sweet, but i can't really pick out the notes aside from the initial plum. it's very pretty. 1.5 hours later: this is still mostly sweet, but with a sharp, soapy edge to it now. 5 hours later: still soapy. overall: this is really nice at first, but my skin messes it up.
-
at first: sweet woods and herbs, with a hint of spice. on: lovely stuff. powdery and soft, but also sweet and earthy. wonderful. 5 hours later: i reapplied this because i love it so much. it reminiscent of tushnamatay on me, but sweeter and with more of a green feel to it. overall: well, i went ahead and just ordered balthazar, since he'll bring a nice big bottle of la fee verte with him. i wasn't expecting to like this, but i really adore it. update 06.09.2006: i got my bottle (eek! bathazar is so cute and the label is gorgeous!) and tried it out in my scent locket. it works way better on my skin, since it sweetens up a bit. so, i guess this one won't be going in my locket again.

at first: very dark and earthy. herbal. on: definitely herbal and dark. 2 hours later: sweeter now. i think the musk is more noticeable, but it's still mostly dark and earthy. 4 hours later: most woodsy and dry, with a hint of earthy sweetness. overall: this just isn't the type of scent i can wear.
-
at first: wow. the sharpness of vetiver with a sweet much and smooth sandalwood. interesting. on: lots of red patchouli, vetiver, and musk. dark. 2 hours later: softer. the vetiver has calmed down a bit. the red patchouli still doesn't quite work on me. the musk and sandalwood are making this more smooth and sweet. 3.5 hours later: sweeter still. the musk is dominating this, but the patchouli and vetiver are still messing it up. overall: not surprisingly, this didn't work on me.
-
at first: sweet, but light and powdery. on: now i can smell the rum and the sweetness is heavier, but the sandalwood is keeping it light and smooth. lovely. 4 hours later: sweet, soft sandalwood. overall: lovely, lovely stuff. i adore sandalwood and this is no exception. this will be nice when i want a soft, sweet scent.

haha! i almost made scylla hurl! at first: some sort of boozy note and something else that i can only describe as bad. on: mostly that odd, bad note. i have no idea what it is. there is a lot more rose now, too. overall: bad, just bad. i only had a bit of this to try, but it smells awful on me.
-
at first: sweet, but not heavy. on: herbal and sweet. there is definitely honey in this, but it isn't cloying. 2 hours later: sweet and deep, but still not heavy. very nice. 3 hours later: sweet honey. overall: this just doesn't develop on me the way i'd hoped it would. i wanted something a bit more complex to come out of it. stupid skin chemistry.
-
at first: a pretty floral. on: a nice orchid with a touch of tangy, almost fruity, floral. 3 hours later: a soft orchid. 5.5 hours later: soft, powdery orchid. overall: this is really pretty, but shadow witch orchid smells better on me.
-
at first: a nice, green lily scent. on: lilly, but greener than a lot of the ones i've run across. faintly sweet, too. 1.5 hours later: this is reminiscent of tiger lily on me, but isn't quite as sweet. there's a bit of sharpness to this, too, but i'm hoping that goes away. 4 hours later: a bit soapy and sharp. 6.5 hours later: soft, slightly powdery lilies. 7.5 hours later: a faint lily scent, but still fresh. overall: aside from a bit of soapiness, this is very pretty. i love lily.
