Black Butterfly Moon On: Wet, slightly floral woods. 2 hours in: Very, very powdery, with lots of benzoin, some flowers, and a woody note. 4 hours in: Still a woody, powdery scent. Very little sweetness or flowers. Overall: This wasn't very interesting on me.
-
Flowering Chrysanthemums On: Wow. This smells AMAZING on me at first. Lots of chrysanthemum and vanilla, with other flowers and a bit of sandalwood underneath. So lovely. 1 hour in: Smooth and sweet. Lovely vanilla and amber. Definitely a little incense-y. Very pretty. 2.5 hours in: Pretty. Mostly sandalwood. 4 hours in: I'm getting an odd vegetable note. Overall: I hate it when my skin messes up an otherwise nice blend.
-
Clarimonde On: A sweet musky, rose-filled perfume, with a bit of a soapy edge. 1 hour in: Powdery, soapy roses. 2.5 hours in: Soapy, powdery roses. 4 hours in: A soapy floral. Overall: Rose blends are hit-or-miss on me, and this one is a miss.

Berry Moon On: Very pretty berries. Sweet, but not heavy, with a nice amount of musk. 1 hour in: It's going a bit powdery and odd on me. I think the fig smells funny on my skin. 2 hours in: Sweet and powdery, with an odd vegetable note underneath, which I think is the fig. 3 hours in: An odd wood/vegetable note. A bit powdery. Overall: This doesn't work on my skin.
-
Prunella On: Amazing. Lovely fresh flowers and plum, with a coating of cream. So pretty. 1 hour in: Very, very powdery and sweet. Mostly cream. 2 hours in: Pretty. Powdery and sweet cream. 3 hours in: Powdery, sweet, with a bit of spice. Overall: This is OK on me, but not as incredible as I thought it would be.

Grief On: A sweet, earthy, heavy floral. 1 hour in: Something in this is turning to an odd vegetable note on me. 4 hours in: A slightly soapy floral. Overall: Very, very springy, which is nice. However, the drydown wasn't great on me.
-
Bensiabel On: Incredibly herbal, with a lovely dose of lilac and some smooth leather. 1 hour in: This is sweeter now, and the lilac isn't as strong. 4 hours in: A powdery, leathery floral. Overall: This was just OK on me. I wish the lilac were stronger and stayed around longer.
-
Verdandi On: A dark apple scent. 1.5 hours in: A very nice, dark, sweet apple scent. 3 hours in: Sweeter, but still mostly apple, with a bit of amber. 10.5 hours in: Very light, but still a sweet apple scent. Overall: Apple scents aren't really a priority for me, so Snow, Glass, Apples is enough for me.
-
On: This totally smells like fall. Damp leaves. A bit chilly. Very, very nice. 1.5 hours in: This really smells like ozone on me. 3 hours in: All ozone. 10.5 hours in: Vaguely powdery. Overall: I'm not really into ozone scents, so this is a no-go for me.

Stimulating Sassafras Strengthener
grrrlennyl replied to flyingpizza's topic in Doc Constantine's Pharmacopoeia
Stimulating Sassafras Strengthener On: Lovely sassafras. Mmm... 1.5 hours in: Straight up sassafras. Very pretty. 9.5 hours in: Sweet, lovely sassafras. Overall: I love this. Definitely bottle-worthy. -
Joyful Moon On: The vanilla is sweet, but very light, probably due to the addition of the white musk. It's a lovely, pretty, happy blend. Very white. 1.5 hours in: Soft, powdery, and sweet. Definitely a vanilla blend, but with a hint of floral. 9.5 hours in: Powdery and a little sweet. Overall: This is really pretty at first, but the dry-down is boring.
-
The Rose On: The fresh, red rose from Rose Red. Very pretty and green. Lovely. 1 hour in: Slightly powdery now, but mostly a fresh, green rose scent. 3 hours in: Fresh, but powdery roses. Still very green and nice. Like a drier version of Rose Red. 26 hours in: Soft, powdery rose. No soapiness at all. Overall: Sigh, I love these sorts of fresh, non-soapy rose scents. If I didn't already have Rose Red, I'd probably grab a bottle of this.
-
Black Lace On: I can definitely get the cotton and sugar, but there's something light and almost fruity that I can't identify. Very pretty. 1 hour in: Sweet incense, tobacco, and cognac. 3 hours in: Sweeter now and mostly an incense scent. 26 hours in: Vaguely sweet with a bit of incense. Overall: This one definitely lasts, but it isn't really me.
-
Very Slightly Haunted Dollhouse On: Very juicy, sweet white wine grape. I love that note of Beth's, so I'm pretty excited about this one. 1 hour in: The grapes have gone almost syrupy sweet on me. 7 hours in: The grape is still very sweet, but also a bit sour on my skin now. Overall: I think the grape got to be overwhelming on my skin.
-
Christmas Rose On: Slightly soapy roses. Powdery. 1 hour in: Soapy, powdery roses, with a lot of fir. 7 hours in: Powdery, soapy rose. Overall: This doesn't develop very nicely on me.
-
The Hamptons On: Fruity alcohol. 2 hours in: Not quite as strong, but still a fruity cocktail. 5.5 hours in: Powdery and fruity. Overall: I like this, but not enough to wear it often.
-
Ogun On: A TON of melon. 2 hours in: Lots smoky tobacco with gin. 5.5 hours in: Smoky and powdery. Overall: This was a nice surprise, since I wasn't sure how the notes would smell on me. If it were less smoky on me, it would be a better fit.
-
Pumpkin I (2008) On: Tons of coconut and sweet, spicy pumpkin. 2 hours in: Warm, spicy pumpkin. 5.5 hours in: Sweet, spicy pumpkin. Overall: This was a nice pumpkin scent, but I couldn't really get the other notes for most of it.

The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil
grrrlennyl replied to RaeiNarcissus's topic in Discontinued Scents
The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil On: Fresh and brightly sweet fruits like apple, fig, grape, and pomegranate. Actually, lots of grape. 2 hours in: Mostly grape with a powdery feel. 5.5 hours in: Still a powdery grape scent. Not a syrupy-sweet fake one, though, which is good. Overall: I was surprised that the grape took over in this blend, but it was really nice and different. -
The Sea Foams Blood On: The tang of metallic blood with salt and ozone, and maybe a bit of lotus. 1 hour in: This is all salty on me. 2.5 hours in: Saltwater spray. Pretty strong. 7 hours in: Still about the same. I'm surprised this is still so strong. Overall: This is a really interesting (and strong) blend. It lasted for quite a while and smelled just the spray from the ocean.
-
Imperious Tiger-Lily On: This has a really honey-like scent to it, with a nice dose of bright neroli. Neroli isn't usually a note that works on me, so we'll see how this goes. 1 hour in: A powdery, floral, with a woodsy incense scent to it, too. 2.5 hours in: A very soapy floral. 7 hours in: A sweet floral with a bit of frankincense. Overall: I wish this worked on me.
-
'Tis the Voice of the Lobster On: Wow. Lots of fruits. I can pick out the watermelon and strawberry. There's a darkness underneath it all, though. 1 hour in: Lots of sweet strawberry and watermelon. 8.5 hours in: Vaguely soapy. Overall: Like a lot of oils, my skin ended up making this one smell soapy after a while.
-
Lysander On: Lots and lots of benzoin, sticky-sweet, with a bit of lime rind. 1 hour in: A soapy floral with a hint of sweetness. 8.5 hours in: A sweet, slightly woody floral. Pretty. Overall: This one definitely has staying power, but the drydown isn't spectacular on me.
-
Dawn: Priestess On: Patchouli and myrrh with a bit of sage and rose. 1 hour in: Lots of myrrh with a hint of flowers underneath. 8 hours in: Mostly sage with a bit of powdery rose. Overall: This is nice, but nothing really special on me.
-
Dawn: Maiden On: Slightly soapy roses with a bit of sweetness. 1 hour in: Soapy rose. 8 hours in: A smooth floral. Slightly sweet from the honey. Overall: This is just OK on me.
