Love's Torments is delightful on me. I did not find the vetiver to be overpowering at all. On my skin, the sandalwood and neroli interplay nicely, with just a faint whisper of vetiver. I would not describe it as woodsy, grassy, or smoky, as some others have. It's just warm and sensual on me. I think I have a new favorite. Also, it has amazing staying power. I can still smell it on my wrists, and I can't tell you how many times I washed my hands today.

Boomslang smells exactly as I expected and desired: Snake Oil infused with cocoa. I'm disappointed that it doesn't last longer, though. The original Snake Oil is very pungent and lasts an exceptionally long time on my skin. I have to be careful not to put too much on, lest it become overwhelming. Boomslang is the complete opposite. I think I'll have to slather myself in the stuff to make it last past half an hour. Maybe I should have ordered two bottles...

Initial Impression: Powdery vanilla. After Wearing It: Powdery vanilla. Final Thoughts: Antique Lace smells exactly the same on me as it does in the bottle. I would call it a "mature" vanilla scent. It really does smell antique without evoking Aunt Ethel's dusty attic. A lot of posters in this thread said the fragrance was "powdery". I find powdery scents, especially those from BPAL, suit my body chemistry perfectly. If powdery scents don't suit you, Antique Lace will probably not be for you. When I was younger, I preferred sweet vanilla fragrances. One of my favorites was a vanilla/caramel combination: you can't get much sweeter than that! I've moved beyond that phase and a lot of vanilla perfumes now repulse me for being too sweet. Antique Lace is not overly sweet on my skin. It's just right; feminine without being girlish. I believe Antique Lace will become a part of my everyday scent rotation. It lasted a long time, and the scent stayed true throughout the day. I am very pleased. EDIT: It's been a week and I'm still enjoying Antique Lace quite a bit. I couldn't be more pleased. It smells great and lasts forever on my skin.

I found some imps that I've had since late 2004. They were misplaced when I moved a few years ago. Several of them have a dusty/musty smell that causes me to think they've distorted with age. I found an imp of Oneiroi, which I used to love. The imp doesn't smell that great to me today, which reinforces my theory that they've gone bad. What do you think? Are they "expired"? Is there any point in keeping them after this long? My current plan is to re-order fresh imps of the scents which still smell good.

I ordered this sample for my Ukrainian ex-b/f. He'd been asking me to order something for him for a while, and he's into Slavic history and such. I thought it was appropriate. It smells much nummier on him than it did on me. On him it's a strongly masculine scent. Try to resist, indeed... I forced him to give me a quick review of it just now. He described it as "earthy and musky". That's about all I could get out of him. It works very well on his skin, that I can tell ya for sure!

Snake Oil meshes so perfectly with my body chemistry, it's incredible. I almost enjoy the reaction I get from other people more than actually smelling the scent on me! It's a definitely attractor. I've never gotten this many compliments on a scent, ever. The other day, I kept catching my friend sniffing me. Each time he caught a whiff, he closed his eyes and sort of murmered at me. I think the poor boy is falling in love with me over Snake Oil!

I'm not the best at writing reviews, so this'll be short and sweet. I have twenty-four BPAL samples. A mere two immediately jumped out at me and said "BUY ME NOW!". One of them was Oneiroi. When I wear it, it smells like it was made just for me. Two hearty thumbs up for this dreamy, lovely scent!

Unfortunately, my body chemistry does not work with this scent at all. It smelled great in the bottle, but on me it turns to dust. Literally. I smell like a dusty old attic, and not in a good way. It reminds me of the scent of my (late) great aunt Ethel's ancient, crumbling house. While that's not a bad memory, I don't really want to smell like an old house.
