'05... reminds me more of the snowy element of Cloister Graveyard. A pure snow scent, which I adore. '08... is nothing like the original on me. I get the initial hit of the snow that I adore, but then it turns itself over into the "girly perfume" part and stays there. No snow after five minutes. Disappointing...I'll have to start going after '05 decants again.

A dusky, yet effervescent mix of pomegranate and black currant candies, with a dusting of sugared pear and white apple. Oh, Candy Phoenix... In the decant you smelled a lot like Sticky Pillowcase. But now that I've tried you, I can smell sugared pear. And only sugared pear. You're like Glitter's more pleasant sister.

Metal Phoenix spends its first six hours mimicking Phoenix Steamworks on me. I'd spent my workday sniffing my arm to see if there was a change? nope. Until I got home, upon which I find a slightly metal tang with an overtone of light airiness. Very nice. But I think I'll stick with just a decant.

Like others have said, this version of LICK IT is very similar to Lick It Again. Much sweeter than Lick It One More Time, far less peppermint as well. I didn't get the tingling that I did with LIOMT. The only odd thing I have with LILYMI is that, for some reason, after a few hours, I start to smell cardboard.

Tabella - very pleasant.. light and feminine, which is not what I had expected from the notes listed. I admit, quite a surprise, but a pleasant one. I might have to track down another bottle.

Crimson Christmas Starts out with tart fruit, then quickly morphs into bathroom cleaner. No peppermint, no coolness. Maybe I need to age you for a little while, dear CC?

Holy crap - I just noticed Major Andre's Tree atmospheric spray in your album, TwilightEyes.. That one's gorgeous! (yeah, I'm slow on the draw)

Thank you Tramp!

Ooo! Does anyone have pics of the WC specials yet?

I see some reviews of Yulies already... labels, anyone? I"m particularly curious about Nuclear Winter and Lick It Like You Mean It.

Delousing Powder reminds me oddly of fresh cotton sheets...or possibly linen. It's a very clean scent, but also very soft. It faded almost immediately on me.

John Barleycorn - I didn't have high hopes for you upon sniffing you in the imp, but you surprised me, John... Sweet, sweet like I've had the "hay" smell described to me. None of the booze or blood. Just sweet hay (or barley.) I think this might just be a keeper decant.

Wiley's Swamp.. I did get swampy. Woody aquatic. Bang-on. Unfortunately, it also gave me a headache - I had hopes for this one, but unfortunately I can't wear it.

Aww! I like the yellow dressed Lilith Victoria! I have the red dressed one, which is uber-cute too.

Goblin Rider I have all of the Halloweenies from this year up on my flickr account. (see signature.) They're grouped loosely by category sets. *bookmarks* Thanks for the link!

I've seen the squat green ones before (thanks Morrighana ) and they're just too adorable, but the Satyr & Black Rose ones... eee!

I'd need to google this again and I don't quite have the time, but I remember looking this up and yes, orders over $20 or orders over $50 that are marked as a gift will receive $5/$8 as a base fee and then GST/PST on top of that. Not every order will be caught by customs - some will sail right through - but yeah, we get to look forward to having our big BPAL orders receive that kinda treatment from now on (there's a note in the Announcements forum regarding Canada customs having stern words with the Lab - EDIT: here it is). There was a brief discussion about that in, I think, the latest Halloween thread as well. Thank you Eyeska. I knew there was a discussion somewhere (I was in it, even...) but couldn't remember where it was.

er..I guess this is the right topic. Canada Customs. Yesterday I received my Snake Pit order. Unfortunately, I was also smacked with a fee from Canada Customs. A few people I've mentioned this to are sure this isn't normal, though I'm certain I've been hit with fees before (on non-BPAL related orders.) Is this normal for larger orders? Do I just have bad luck? I've been crawling all over the CBSA website this afternoon and might have missed something... I don't want to make a fuss if it's a normal procedure for the CBSA. Anyone know CBSA inside and out?

CDLXVIII This was previously reviewed as a creamy mint, of which I don't get. The user I got this from described it as a berry bubblegum, also which I don't get. Upon first smelling this bad boy in it's bottle, I immediately thought "fish". (wtf?) Now, something so funky hasn't stopped me from trying the scent on in the past. Why would it now? Upon applying to skin, I get an attack of lemon zest. And a hint of that bubblegum. Mm.. Lemon bubblegum. Not entirely unpleasant - actually, I think this would make a really neat soap or bath salt.

XXI (21) - A woodsy blend. I'm not sure which wood it is, specifically, and there is a mix of either resin or metal, possibly both but it's very subtle. (Unfortunately, I'm not good with these so I can't pick out particular notes.) ETA: I had someone else review this one for me, and they gave me one word: Aquavelva. LIII (53) - This one is comforting. Warm, without being scorching. Actually, it makes me think of a wool sweater. You can just wrap yourself up in it on a cold day. I think there's tea in it, and possibly amber. LXIV (64) - In the bottle, it smells like caramel. Wearing it, it turns to dust and...cedar. It's a library scent, if I ever smelled one.

Pickled Imp Starts off vanilla-cinnamony, eventually giving way to just sweet. Soon this, too, dies down to a bitter woody (alas, not pine) scent which just hangs in the air around me like some dark cloud. I thought I would despise having this, until I went to wash my hands and upon getting the oil on my wrists wet...lo and behold, comes back the vanilla! I'm not sure what to think.

Stormclouds Over the Midway In the imp, it's a nice ozone with just a hint of smokiness. A delightful mixture, really from this one who doesn't really like that kind of thing. On skin, first stays that wonderful mix as in the imp just amping the ozone upon first application, then drying slowly to a smoky, sexy scent. But I wish it stayed that way. After about half an hour of being on my skin, it turned to cat pee. It was so lovely, but it just doesn't love me back.

Inez, how I worried about getting you! At first sight, I thought AAGH! Vanilla! RUN! But I can't find any vanilla in her. I'm getting a lot of cedar, and a lot of sandalwood. Not sure if she's a keeper yet, but she has a chance if the vanilla doesnt' come out later.

Love in Idleness...I'm not quite sure how to describe it other than heavy floral. It's not terrible on me, but not z0mg, love! either. Certainly feminine, certainly sweet. I'll have to give it another few tries before I decide whether I like it.

I went to my expert on this, having never smelled a lot of hay myself.. "Outdoorsy, fresh, green...but not hay to my nose." I, myself, get greenery. Fields, even, from what I remember smelling. But fresh isn't a word I'd use to describe it. It's still up in the air if I like Hay Moon.
