Some that last forever on me are Voodoo, Antique Lace, Alice, and Morocco- also some of my favorites ETA: I wore Snake Charmer last night and wow, that baby didn't quit! (keep in mind I do wear these in a scent locket so that extends the normal on-your-skin wear)

Floral Recs for those who usually don't like florals
midnight_aeval replied to Neko's topic in Recommendations
My wishlist is shrinking, and shrinking fast. I have stayed away from most all of the florals because I hate florals (yes- hate it a strong word, but that's how I feel lol). I thought the only floral scent I liked was Violet, but I recently found out I'm not a big violet fan either... I do, however, love Alice and Antique Lace- so I know there must be SOME florals I can stand. Can anyone help with recs? Perhaps some blends I'm shying away from that lists florals but may not actually have a heavy floral smell? -
At the top or side of the forum there should be a link called "Community Gallery" and the labels folder is the first one listed.

This one is slightly fruity, sweet, and musky- the perfect combo for me (generally)! It mellowed from the sharp scent it was in the vial, and turned into a nice, soft scent. I sat on the couch and kept smelling this yummy, sweet smell- guess what it was?? I like it and am on the hunt for a full bottle!

Just to let everyone know who is interested in what labels look like, there is a section in the Community Gallery that has pictures. I have uploaded most of the LE bottles I have and would love others to do the same! (Because contrary to what my husband thinks, I don't own every single bottle! )

Don't they look nice? I like that the color doesn't chip around the edges too. I have a couple older bottles that have white areas around the outside of the labels.

Here ya go..

Am I the only one that smells CK1? Here I am thinking my imp of Bed of Nails was switched with CK1 because it smells almost identical! It smells aquatic and citrusy.. of course, I cannot pick out individual notes because all my nose is telling me is it's CK1

I get mostly the combo of floral and honey from this blend. Not one I would generally think of buying because I detest florals, but this one is not at all what I was expecting. It's sweet and makes me smile.. I think I would wear this when I'm having a rough day/week.

This is my "birth" moon and I got it in time to wear it for my birthday today!! This is a scent for someone who loves apple scents. It's a juicy, ripe scent that is fit to be called "Harvest" Moon. It has some floral notes in it, but they aren't overdominating, and coming from a person who hates florals that is GOOD. I definitely get the sweetness from the cane sugar as well. Since I wear my oils in a scent locket, I don't have a chance to fully experience the dry-down, but the bit I put on my skin this morning morphed into a sweet apple with spice and wheat. Interesting and very good! I have a feeling I'll be hunting down a 2nd bottle.

WOW this is pure sassafras on me!! I was hoping for nutmeg because I love it so, but I just get a sharp root beer smell. Not like Tombstone tho, (which also didn't work for me) which was creamier. Darn!!

This is true! I got 4 lovely gifts in the order I received today + a postcard!! I'm loving them and have 3 now.. although I got one last year and misplaced it..

LOL Generosity not a mistake right??

Ooo.. I must get in on these if the chance arises again! That is such a sweet thing for the lab to do!

This smells *exactly* like Hot Topic used to back in the day. I remember skipping school with my older friends to go hang out in Hot Topic lol It's a sweet incense smell, nice, comforting. In the vial it was perfect, turned a bit sweet on my skin. However, if I came across a bottle, I would pick it up

Only got a sniffie, so there was no oil to test on my skin, but here are my thoughts: This is chocolate fudge brownies! It's too bad this scent is so rare, and costly when you can find it... It smells like some lotions/sprays I already own, so I don't think I would actively search for this one.

I saw that Spooky bottle to when it was up and was really impressed! It's got a very old-style feel to it. And Gift with Purchase?? I didn't know BPAL did such a thing; you guys must have been special

What the heck? Mine smells like nothing like anyone else is describing.. Dare I say what I truely smell in this fragrance? It smells like Tia Gloria making some delicious Mexican Food in a hot kitchen. Kid you not. I smell that Chile Pepper Powder that little kids eat.. and Enchiladas lol Maybe my decant was off, but I'm serious this is what I smell.

MA: Hi there Lick It! *in the most might pitched voice I can make* Hiddy ho Midnight! MA: Uh, Lick It, I'm worried... I don't like mint. Will I like you? *high pitched voice* Of course, I'm delicious! He didn't lie! This wasn't that fresh mint scent I fear. A total candied mint; a candy cane of course. I see myself wearing this a lot this winter! Now if only there was a "Suck It" scent... Oh to see the faces of the poor souls who ask what scent I'm wearing! ahahaha

Warm, cozy gingerbread spiced with nutmeg, clove and cinnamon. Perfect scent for the foody gal; and I be one of them. This one is the perfect combo of gingerbread and other spices. Like the pieces to a Gingerbread house baking in the oven. This one is better than Shub (aka Evil Gingersnaps- I just couldn't handle it!). Good thing it's cheaper and easier to find too than Shub too lol Did I mention I love Clove & Nutmeg? *hugs her 2 bottles* I heard this one gets better with age.

The meeting of Heaven and Earth: golden amber, galbanum, benzoin, ambrette, rockrose, costus and tonka. Smells good in the vial, nice, creamy amber. Oh I'm hoping this one loves me! I put it on and I get this cologney smell... not so good. As it dries down it becomes powder. Reminds me of my grandma's perfume Not one I'll be buying a big bottle of lol

Whew, too aquatic for me. I sold it before I could test it on DH, but I'm thinking I wouldn't have liked it on him so I made the right choice (god forbid he did like it and I would have to smell it on him! I'm so evil.) Smelled too much like a cologne you could buy at a Department store, and he does have plenty of those anyways.

In the rush of buying all bottles I could find (the newbie-frenzy, you know you did it to!) I ended up with 3 bottles of Snake Charmer.... Now, I probably was confusing it for different ones, or I was just crazy and did get all 3 knowing they were SC. I finally tested a bit of it one day and it was SOUR. Just SOUR on my skin. I was so disppointed so off went all 3 bottles. Then I was given the info that it gets better with age. What did I do? Turned around and bought 2 others. They are in my "aging" box right now. Maybe I'll test them monthly to see if they're working, if not, I got some great aged bottles of SC to swap! ((and yes, I know what I had was SC not HoM, as I had HoM at one time too and didn't like it either))

And I thought leather wasn't my thing.. I swear, I'm loving every scent Beth creates with leather! This is one that I would wear and also tell my husband to wear. I would consider this to be the more masculine version of Spanked; not as sweet, more spicey with a little bit of an aftershave note that just makes it sexy. The earthy notes also give it that "manly" scent... mmmm I'm eternally grateful to the kind soul from MUA that sent this to me wanting nothing in return but for me to enjoy it

Midway was one of my first few full bottle purchases and I have no regrets! It really does smell like everything I love about fairs; the sickly sweet food!! When I first smelled this I wished the fair was in town so I could get my yearly Funnel Cake fix (thank the gods for IHOP). Cotton Candy, Funnel Cake, Carmel Apples... what else do you need in a scent? It's so perfect, Beth did an awesome job in capturing the scent. I let my husband sniff it and I told him it was called Midway and right off he was like Yah! This does smell like Cotton Candy and Funnel Cake! Suprisingly I don't think I have worn this one yet. In a newbies excitement I was getting so many bottles/imps that poor little Midway got overlooked, but I'm breaking this baby out Monday morning for sure!
