Amazing, Amazing blend. I am a fan of foody. I am a fan of sweet. And this one hits the spot!! I got an imp of this and instantly had to have a bottle! Although, this was harder than it sounded lol Even though there is that boozy smell, it's not offensive as in some other blends I have tried. This is mostly a straight up sweet rum and vanilla cream scent that just can't get any better. Do yourself a favor and find an imp of this stuff!! (And a bottle if you're lucky )

Have I not reviewed this one? My absolute favorite BPAL scent? oh the humanity... I got an imp of this on ebay, probably for way too much, so I sniffed it in the vial. Not bad, but so not me. This was one of the first 5 imps I got the chance of trying, and leather? There's no way I can pull this off. Not the innocent, sweet girl that I was (HA!). I did always have this vision of what I would smell like, and it's something closer to Gluttony or Eat Me, not leather. I wore this out to dinner with my family and oh. my. god. Not something I want to wear to dinner with my family. I kept sneaking sniffs from my wrists, being sly about it because for some reason it felt dirty. At dinner, I told my husband how much I loved this scent, he asked what it was , I said Spanked. That is how the affair with Spanked all began. It turned to a sweet, spicey, leather scent. It's not sharp like in the vial.. It's perfect. If I could bathe in it I would. Now... I need to plot how to get a case of this scent because I never want to be without it. Ever.

Chocoloate & Orange, that is certainly all I get in the bottle and all I get wearing it- it's a scent that makes me smile I wore it today because I was feeling very unlucky, hoping it would turn my luck around. This is a scent I would wear on those bad days. It's a bit like Aquolina's Chocolovers without the malty/musk note. I think this would layer well and give my fast-fading Chocolovers an extra omph. Gotta love those omphs. ETA: If this was a GC oil it would HAVE to belong in the Voodoo section! I wore this after a shitty morning and when I checked the mail in the evening there was a wedding gift from a family member (mind you, I have been married for 13 months *gasps* Coincidence??); it was a BIG check!! 13 is my new favorite

Gourmand - Foody Scents - General Recommendations
midnight_aeval replied to Morrighana's topic in Recommendations
Oh Hollie you must try Gluttony.. I forgot about that one. I ordered a 10ml of it last week; it's scrumptious! And I second (or third or whatever) the recs for Underpants, Closet, Bliss, and Midway. If I think of others I'll give you a hollar. Oh and Jack, can't believe I forgot him.. Also..Gingerbread Poppet, Sugar Cookie (was a little too heavy on that cherry/almond note for me), Beaver Moon, Trick or Treat (candy corn), Jailbait, Lump of Coal (straight up brownies, hard to find tho), and Pink Phoenix. -
This is a great warm, spice scent; definitely one I would wear! In the vial it smells like ginger snaps. The ginger mellows and the spices come out a bit after a long dry-down on my skin. I wish I would have caught this oil when BPAL sold it because now I really can't afford it lol

In the vial this one was sweet and contained a submissive floral note. When I applied it to my skin I got that coppertone sunscreen scent I got from Aeval.. It dries down and more of the musk, vanilla, and sandalwood come out. The sunscreen scent almost diminishes within 5 min. Being the anti-floral girl that I am, detecting floral is something I can do. I don't detect any in this blend... so either it's a floral that smells like yummy, it's blended so well I can't tell, or my nose is defunct. Final verdict? The drydown is something I can really deal with; it's definitely bottle-worthy!

In the vial? oooooooh this stuff is gooooood. So so sweet, I want to drink it. The first time I tested it out on my skin I felt nauseous. I smelled like cereal. Sickening sweet cereal. Now, I have been known to use a body wash in Fruit Loops scent, but this was different. I put that imp for swap... but it was the first scent I used in my scent locket. Ok, so I took that imp down from my swaplist because in the scent locket it smells just like it does in the vial! mmmm yummy, and I don't smell like cereal. However, I'm not sure if I smell cheesecake.. it's like the cupcakes went undercover as cheesecake; you think they are cheesecake, but they are really cupcakes. *this review has been brought to you today by lack of sleep*

In the bottle it smells like tart fruit.... grapefruit? Nnnnoooo!!! (as you can see I'm not a fan of this grapefruit.. I know I was taking a risk in ordering it, but I needed it at the time) On my skin, the drydown is really nice. Almost a musky fruity, herbally blend of sweetness. Unfortunately my skin eats oil so I have to use a scent locket.... and in the locket all I kept smelling was grapefruit and aloe. I suppose this is one where the dry down kicks ass... the wet stage is not so good with me. I'm swapping you Hungry Ghost Moon. You already ate all the food in my fridge

...that's awesome, I was wondering the same thing. Thanks from me too! You're both welcome! Now- go buy lots!!

Here's a pic I just took for ya: I'm hoping this is the answer you're looking for!

This smells like a stronger version of The Raven to me... which didn't work for me when I tested it on my skin, and surprise surprise neither does this one I thought I loved Violet.. well, maybe I don't Anyways, it's a sweet floral blend, I'm sure it's beautiful blend on others tho!

I got this one for my husband and when I opened the vial to smell it I *knew* he wouldn't like it. Well, he shocked me, out of all the ones he pulled from his imp box (yes, he has one lol), he wanted me to put this one on him. He loves it. what? boy was I wrong! He said he smells the clove.. I smell the orange, musk, and mint. We both like it on him and he asks me to buy him a bottle of it (!!!) Does this mean I can order some too?

I got XLIV (44-how cool!). This is a herbal/citrus scent. I think it's grapefruit or yuzu I'm smelling. In the bottle it almost smells like straight up orange peel! I tests a small amount on the back of my hand and it definitely mellows out to almost a herbal, grapefruit tea scent! It's unique, but my nose says no to anything citrus Off to swapping we will go!

Hot damn. This is one of those blends that I can actually smell the majority of the notes... the patchouli, the musk, the honey, the beeswax, the wood notes, the oakmoss. Yum. I slathered this on today (used about 1/2 an imp I did!) because I was lucky enough to snatch up a bottle. This will be one of those that I wear when I'm feeling extremely dirty It's pure sex, not Spanked, but damn near close! I'm guessing if you add a bit more sweetness (O) and some leather (De Sade), you might come close to Spanked. (and we all know how much I love to be Spanked)

Nag Champa scent in a BPAL blend?
midnight_aeval replied to girlmadasbirds's topic in Recommendations
LOL The post on the main page says "I want to smell like a head..." I thought, well, that's an interesting goal! I would say I'm in love with Sin as my favorite dark, incensey, mysterious, what the hell goes on in this shop smell. -
Well, our power went out for 6 hours today and it got to be about 96 degrees in our apartment- I was freaking out that my oils were going to go bad, but then I remember that each one of them came to me via mail and who knows what sort of journey they had before they were delivered to me. Needless to say, they all smell the same as they did when I got them, and they are gradually getting happier as my A/C goes into overdrive [still 94 in here blech].

Hello Certs Wintergreen Mints. What the heck? Was my imp tampered with? LOL Really, this is the extent of my review since this is all I smell. Will update if it changes on the drydown.

This is the scent I remember my mom smelling like when I was a little girl.. it's so strange, it's exact. A very comforting scent for me. It's a little like a men's cologne, so I think it would be a great guys scent. My mom now wears Angel, she used to be a fan of Opium and Obsession... this one seems right in line with those.

Ok, thanks for clearing that up! Now I'm wondering if the "val" part of aeval is pronounced "vull" or like it's spelled, pronounced like it would be short for Valerie. And then, what if it's pronouced similar to Evil LOL maybe that's fitting. ETA: ok, so "ae" is like "ae" in Gaelic, so it is "ay" in a sense... should I be following this site: http://www.contemporarypoetry.com/brain/lang/irish1.html or is it: http://www.mythome.org/celticnames.html they both say different things..

It was 112 today where I live, and I received 3 bottles- all were fine! I received a bottle yesterday from the Netherlands, also ok. opps, hehe I thought you were talking about mailing... there has been discussions about keeping BPAL in the fridge- maybe search the forum?
-
Eek I don't know how an Italian e or i is pronounced LOL Thank you!!
-
Ok, all laughing aside, how do you pronounce "Aeval"? In my head I hear (say) "Ay-vull" but I doubt this is correct. The only thing I have found online has been variations of it: Aebhel and Aibell. So is the "V" a "B" sound? Sorta like Abel? *cornfused* So how in the world is it pronouced??
-
Big herbal scent to me. In the vial it's almost sweet, but now it smells like herbs. A unique scent, but not one for me. I'm not one who can pick a note out of a scent, but I do get that Dragon's Blood sniff in the vial.
-
Wow, this one smells like fruity bubblegum on me. Like Juicy Fruit, no joke! This, as you can imagine was very surprising. *finally scrolls down* oh, ok, I'm not the only one lol
-
This is a masculine scent?? Maybe that explains why it only smells like rose soap on me. Blech. This wouldn't be something my husband would want to touch either. But, I'm biased in that I have pretty much every rose scent.. ever. They just don't do it for me!
