I'm unsure about this one.. Not that I'm torn between if I like it or not, but why is it so different from the description?? In the vial it's violet. Strong, bright violet. When I applied it on my skin it turns into a soapy scent, like the fancy ones in some bed & breakfast. What? I know... I don't know what happened, but that's what I smell. It was sweet in the vial, but this soapy scent on me. *sigh*

In the vial this was a woodsy, berry, tea scent. When I put it on it instantly turned to a tart berry smell. No more wood, no more tea...just tart berries. Boy, I am having a bad scent week! As I read these other reviews it's amazing how different these oils smell on other people!!

My first impression from the vial- wowie, this is sweet and boozy! The strawberries smelled gorgeous. So I put it on.. at first it was just what it was in the vial.. and then my strawberries went sour, and the booze came through rough & hard. Literally, after it dried down, it smells like drunken sour patch kids. Which to some, that might be a good thing! ETA: I forgot to wash it off and I have a NASTY headache.. boo on you Bon Vivant.

From the desription I thought for sure I would love this blend. In the vial all I smell is the myrrh and patchouli.. was hoping more for the honey & cognac! I put it on and it seems that this is one of those oils that actually smells the same on my skin as it does in the vial. Darn, I had such high hopes for you Sed Non Satiata. ETA: how weird, I did get a hint of peanut butter and just read that others did too. IT was more in the vial/on skin wet because I don't smell it at all now.

ooo I am eternally thankful for the person who I acquired this from!! It's a perfect musk scent for me, clean yet sweet. That's how I like my musks! Some have an odd habit of only smelling like baby powder, or soap, but this one is GOOD stuff.

Haunted... Haunted.. I'm undecided. In the vial it smells like Lemon Pez Candy. On my it has turned to a lemon baby powder smell that is a tad sour. I'm not sure if my body chem really likes this blend. Seems like a lot of these oils with lemon is sour on me. boo on that, I really liked the smell of it in the vial! ETA: Well I retried it today and got NO sour smell! I also put it in my scent locket and it smells nummy- I'll have to keep this imp after all!

Oh I love Jack, and he Loves me back! In the vial and when I first apply it smells like buttery pumpkin bread. After a while the buttery note goes to the background and the sweetness of the spices and what seems to be a carmel scent (but not a BURNT carmel scent!) comes through. On me, this is such a perfect scent I may end up buying multiple bottles! This is one of those Autumn scents that I would wear all year long. I'm glad I found you Jack!

I wanted Fallen to be my perfect violet scent, but I didn't smell a bit of violet! In the vial it's very sharp, almost too strong for me as it gave me a headache. I tested it tonight on my skin and although the sharpness dulled, there was a heavy floral scent. I kept waiting for the floral to go away or at least fade a bit, but it didn't happen. I smelled no amber, no golden musk, just the "imperial floral" (and it is by no means a "breath" on me!) Given that florals aren't my thing, Fallen isn't my thing.

Mmm yes, Hiya White Rabbit, I'll follow you anywhere... In the vial WR reminds me of licorice or anise. I was hoping that it wouldn't smell like this on me, and it didn't. Like most of the BPAL oils I've tried, it morphs into something completely different on my skin. After about 2 minutes it smelled like pepper, tea, and honey. After a while it got sweeter and the pepper note faded some, but left behind a clean linen. Lucking it wasn't too prominent because I hate clean scents. I still got enough tea & honey to make me love this scent!

I sniffed an imp... It was sweet, musky, and a little bit earthy in the bottle, but as soon as I put it on it was sour. I was hoping as it dried down the sweet musk scent I first smelled would come back... Alas, it didn't. Still smells like sour dirt and musk on me. Boo

I love musks. Smut has 3 musks. Therefore, I love smut. Right? Not really I don't know what it is. In the bottle I wasn't oooing and ahhhhing, it smelled like it went bad. I wore it today and was not content with the way I smelled. (I hate that!) I did receive a compliment today from one of my grandpa's friends that I just met. I walked in front of her and she gasped "Something smells gorgeous! What are you wearing?" Ok, I did not have the heart to tell her I was wearing "Smut" so I blamed it on the blooming Jasmine in the backyard.. I know *hangs head in shame* I guess there are tons of people who love this, so Smut won't be hurt if I don't.

Got an imp of this, sniffed it, *gag**hack**cough* It smells like BEETS in the bottle! Oh no, nononono, I couldn't do this. No way I would wear this. But I know things have a way of smelling awful and turning beautiful.. So, bravely, I put it on tonight, in the comfort of my own home that way if it continued to smell like beets I could at least wash it off and avoid embarassment. Right after I applied I didn't smell the beets anymore. It gradually turned into a spicey soil kinda scent. Odd.. Then the dirt note disappears almost completely and all I seem to smell are spices. This scent evolution of Penny Dreadful is strange... I don't know if I was quite expecting such a change! I don't think I'd buy a big bottle of it, but I am glad I got to try it.

I expected this to be some sort of sinister fragrance, dark or something. But when I applied it all I smelled was sweetness. After it dried down some I'm smelling a sexy baby powder scent. It's lightand very nice. Now that I go back and read what others thought of it being a Dr. Pepper/Cherry Cola/and some sort of lime.. Yes, in the bottle that's exactly what I smell! Of course, my nose isn't quite as sophisticated as others yet, so maybe this vanilla-woodsy smell is what I equate to powder. Still, I like it and will likely get myself a full bottle

Aeval.. Aeval... Aeval.... Why did you have to let me down like that? My 3rd BPAL sniff, sought out for the name, and it was a disappointment. *le sigh* You can't win them all, right? All I smell from Miss Aeval is Coppertone Sunscreen Spray. I'm not sure why this is all I smell, but it is what it is. I will apply it on another day and see if it devlops to anything I'd even think about wearing. *sniff*

Now, I have no idea what the notes in this are supposed to smell like, and this is a bit of a complex fragrance for my 4th BPAL sniff, but it's pretty nice! I feel a little drunk or dizzy sniffing it.. is this a good thing??? It's a hot, sexy oil. ETA: It turned funky that first time I tested it on my skin. I tried it again before it went on my swaplist and I loved it. It was warm, comforting, like something familiar, but distant. Ack- need a bottle!

My second BPAL fragrance, and it does not disappoint! I know, I know, summer hasn't even made it's full way into the year yet and I am buying and wearing autumn scents... I can't help it! I'm such a halloween/autumn lover it's ridiculous. I purchased this with Devil's Night (which I love immensely) and Harvest Moon 2005 seems to be the herablly, grown up side of autumn. This smells exactly like what my house used to smell like around Halloween- yes, we were the crazy people in the neighborhood who decorated the inside, outside, and between of our house; coming up with different themes every year. Mom had to get the "mood" down, so she always had a variety of candles burning at the same time; this is what Harvest Moon 2005 is to me. I get the herbs more than the wine soaked apples, but the apples and brown sugar give it a sweet scent (just not too sweet )

Oh. My. My. My. There aren't even words to describe how much I love this fragrance. This is my very first BPAL fragrance and wow. Couldn't have picked a more awesome oil to be my "first". I smell the sugar, the musk, the spices, the everything that I envision Autumn being. When I smell this I go back to the pumpkin patch that I used to visit with my mom every year when I was a little girl. It was out in the country, so the scent of smoke from the burning fields hangs in the air on cool nights. They had apple cider, spiced popcorn, pumpkin ice cream, and candy apples. All these scents mixed together is what I smell in Devil's Night. Despite it's name, to me it's a very innocent scent. Such great memories, I'm so glad to have found this fragrance. Thank you BPAL!
