I consider myself a bit of a Spanked connoisseur And since Spanked is my absolute FAVORITE scent, elated is not even a grand enough word to describe when I heard the murmur of SPANKED appearing in prototype form at the various Will Calls. When it went live I promptly ordered..... bottles. LOL Got them yesterday and here are my thoughts: I opened the bottle just now and was overwhelmed with spiceytime. That's like sexitime only with spice. I'm taken back to when I carried around that first decant I won from eBay of Spanked.. yes, I carried it around like some kind of security blanket. My most vivid memory of it was when I was at a dinner with a big group of family members at Olive Garden and I would take it out from it's protective case () to sniff it... like it was a drug. The smell of Spanked Revisited from the bottle triggered that exact memory, so far so good... However, my stash of aged Spanked is way less spice, more dirty patchouli leather. On my skin, Spanked Rev gives me.... bumps My sensitive skin cannot handle new Spanked spiceytime!!! Even so, I kept it on and enjoyed the scent.. as it dried down the dirty patchouli surfaced, but spice is still dominant. I'm willing to bet as this one ages it will become more aligned with original Spanked, but it's not quite identical. The same overall feeling is there, but new baby Spanked is not sure of the world and needs time to mature. ETA: the spice is calming down as time goes on which I am thankful for.. now I get that mmmmmmleather smell I love so much.

Instead of Ein Kuss von Krampus smelling spicy with all those hot herbs/spices, this is totally booze to me. Like a chocolate martini! I used to get this Tiramisu martini from Macaroni Grill and it reminds me of it. It does dry down to a tootsie roll scent which is very pleasant. This is a really interesting and super morphing blend. It does not remind me of the 13 series... more like the box of chocolate scents.

Another DD blend I'm revisiting.. Of the 3 "Black" scents, this one was my least favorite. Too tart for me, and sickingly sweet.. It's not boozy, just... sweet and tart. The notes I'm picking up the most is pomegranate, plum, and a grapey note. Usually pomegranate & plum are good notes for me, but I'm noticing that this is the case only when paired with darker notes like Mme Moriarty and Crypt Queen. I was scared of the Sweet Pea, but I only smelled it from the bottle. All in all, not a blend I'll be wearing, not really my type of scent.

I'm revisiting DD scents while I plot an order Black Death is very, very DARK and sinister on my skin. I prefer to keep my dark/sinister scents light-hearted, with a bit of sweetness mixed in. This East African Patchouli is strong stuff. At first it's almost got a wood/pencil shavings scent to it, but as it mellows on the dry down it's more earthy and much more my flavor of patchouli. I do get that hint of lime. Reminds me of those 'hint of lime' chips lol not to mean it smells like tortilla chips... I recall first trying this last January and I almost wrote it off. I'm glad I hung onto the bottle because it's aged very well.

My understanding of the 'vintage' labels is that, yes, they are the same blend from when it was originally released. Since scents are mixed in batches, it was probably in a bigger bottle and in order to sell them they needed to put them in the 5ml bottles. Some of the older scents that were released at the trunk shows used to have those paper-ish labels, not the newer glossy ones, which they probably no longer had around. In an effort to make things consistent (again, I'm guessing here..), they made 'newer' labels for the vintage scents, but they are no doubt the same scent as what was originally released.

I'd do a layering of Dorian, SO and a touch of TKO.

A Game Called Yes & No is similar to Gluhwein, but I do think it's sweeter. I found Gluhwein to have a sour note on me, but AGCY&N is more pleasant. The spice is not 'hot' as in cinnamon which left me hopeful. In the wet stage it has that almond/cherry feel to it, but as it settled the mulled wine became prominent - unfortunately this is why it didn't work for me as it ended up too boozy

AHH! The notes make this sound perrrrrfect! But the gingerbread is not really gingerbread at all.. more like gingerale-cake or something. I'm hoping over time the other notes start to carry the blend because it could really become amazing. For now, Gingerbread Poppet is still my favorite ginger scent.

I'll start by saying I *despise* red musk dominated blends. Actually, 99% of blends with red musk smell horrid to me. The Soldier was different - I immediately fell in lust with it! Even though it does smell like red musk, the other notes (all of which are complete LOVE notes) must be keeping the bully-red-musk in check. I immediately bought a bottle. This was actually the scent I wore on Christmas Eve, but unfortunately I got a really bad case of food poisoning and haven't been able to 'stomach' wearing this blend again

I'm glad I'm not the only one getting peach which I thought was odd since it's not even a note in the blend! The drydown on this reminds me a lot of Halloween: New Orleans. Sort of herbal, fruity, and floral. I already own a bottle of Halloween: NO so I hope this one ages distinctly from it. In the bottle it does smell magical. It reminds me of a still, moonlit winter night in a cabin nestled in the midst of snowy clearing. I can picture the spot really well when I smell this blend. This one might not be one I wear frequently as it's not my usual scent-style, but I really like the imagery.

Amazeballs - seriously. Thanks QS! I am envisioning a 'Randomizer' that will give you a random scent from your stash so you don't have to decide what to wear anymore.. heh.. and what if you could set it up to run everyday at a certain time and the result could be texted to your phone... oooooo

Leather is definitely the dominant note here! Upon initial application I got much more of the coffee and hazlenut, but about an hour later I'm smelling mostly leather, some tobacco, and a hint of spice. I was hoping it'd be a little more sweet - not sure why, as the notes are pretty spot on, but would love if it had a dirty vanilla note to pull it all together - or maybe that's just me wishing it WAS Spanked In any event, I'm going to let my husband try this one.

I completely fell head-over-heels for the prototype version of this one about 2 hours after I applied it at the Trunk Show. At first it was CINNAMON RED HOTS IMMA GONNA BURN YA and then it turned into the most delicious pumpkin scent BPAL has ever graced me with. When I missed out on the prototype at the TS I was bummed, but was able to get a bottle from a kind, kind soul and swapped some big $$$ items for another bottle because I loved it so. Imagine my delight when I saw it was released!! The released version does not have the overly cinnamon wet-stage and, to me, it dries down to the delicious pumpkin (not buttery for me, more squashy) scent from the prototype I love. Lite on the spice. I'm smitten with this one and it goes to the top of my favorite BPAL Weenie blends, passing up Devil's Night, even! I will be getting a few more bottles of this one because I think I'll be wearing it A LOT. Here's to hoping it will be a recurring oil for many Weenies to come!

This was heavy lemon verbena to me - which is not even a note listed. Couldn't figure out what cimarrón is because google is only giving picture of a dog, and I highly doubt that Beth would put eau de perro in a blend After a bit the orris came out in full force! It always does that on me. It dominates everything, so I guess this would be a no blend for me.

The winner of my decant selections! At first I wasn't sure about it... had a generic sweetness, I wrote "pink lemon scent, but not pink lemonADE" if that makes sense After about 15 min it dried down to the most delicious smell of red Kool-Aid powder!! I love that smell!! So this one is a bottle purchase - extra points for Rosy Maple being a cute moth! Thankfully the sweet pea doesn't turn this into sunblock, the rose sugar is not soapy, and lemon blossom does not smell like a public restroom on me like orange blossom. Hooray!

Oh wow no, VETIVER of DEATH! From the vial and on my skin I'm getting nothing but vetiver. After about 10 min I smell something that reminds me of lettuce, but NONE of the other notes. What gives??

In the vial, this is delicious. Could it be?? A coconut blend that may work?? Then when it hit my skin it turned to fizzy coconut. No fizz, get out of my coconut. Damn, probably not meant to be.

This one was super strange on my skin.. It was sour, bitter, and reminded me of something bad from my childhood. I couldn't pinpoint WHAT it reminded me of, maybe a medicine I had to take a lot... amoxicillin? Or just something my stepmom forced me into, like that stupid clear coat stop nail biting shit. I think it was the green musk or armoise that made it 'off' because all the other notes are generally good on me. Sad!

I've had these imps, oh, since the scents came out, but knowing leather you can't test them all RIGHT away. They age/morph/change so much after the first couple months. Last one! This one went on sour as sandalwood tends to do, but about 20 min into it a sweetness emerged. It's like the leather went away and was replaced with white sugar. Maybe that's just how the white leather morphs on my skin! Not my favorite of the three riders, but would be a good scent for someone that may not enjoy leather as much as I do

The Red Rider screams Hot Topic Belt Section to me it's extremely realistic NEW leather smell. I remember my high school days being spent at Hot Topic (back when it was sort of taboo to go there since only the Satanists did ) and waiting among the belts and other leather goods for my friend to choose that week's purchase. This leather note is NOT like the one in Spanked or Crowley. The Red Moss and Balsam give it an earthy feel. Overall, it wouldn't be one I could wear (as I prefer the Spanked/Crowley variety) and my husband prefers the 'black' leather/worn leather scents (Western Diamondback/Dead Man's Hand).
