    Crow Moon

This is very much an early spring scent- images of crocuses poking out of the ground, fresh, wet patches of dirt, etc. Since that's what's happening right now around here, I'm loving wearing this scent these days. As for the fragrance, I'm getting a woody-floral, with notes that smell almost like cedar. I'm not having any luck determining individual floral notes. During the drydown I also get a faint, creamy background note. Again, I'm not sure what it is, but it tempers the cedar scent a bit. In sum, this is a scent that's growing on me, and one that's very seasonal for me. I'll be enjoying this in the early spring.

    Hope

Yup, this is definitely sugared rose. In the bottle and on me I get a very, very sweet rose. This is a nice perfume, but it's not my favorite BPAL rose scent. I tend to prefer fresher, colder rose scents (like Rose Red, London, Delirium, etc.) and this is neither cold nor fresh. Rather, it's sweet, almost candy-like.

    Green Tree Viper

This is one awesome scent. OMG, I totally love this, and I'm so happy I ordered it. Initially I was skeptical, as mint + snake oil just sounded weird. I like both elements individually, but couldn't really see them working together. But then the reviews were so good that I decided to take the plunge. And wow, this scent is so nice! When I first apply I get mostly mint- it's strong, tingly mint, and it tingles on the skin like Lick It does (not quite as strong as Lick It, but the tingle is there). But the Snake Oil notes start to come through pretty quickly too. They blend beautifully with the mint, and overall this is one very enjoyable perfume.

    Tulzscha

I really love mint and I really love Tulzscha. From this oil I get a whole lotta mint, and I get a bit of cucumber too. I'm not getting so much white pepper. I find this scent to be very refreshing, and especially enjoy wearing it in the summer. Seriously, this is a mint-lover's dream. My only complaint is that it disappears quickly, so I have to reapply frequently.

    Bakeneko

This is a warm citrus scent on me. I'd forgotten what the notes were when I first put it on, and was having trouble placing things. I was pretty sure I smelled amber- that would be the amber musk. This is the predominant note on me, nicely complimented by the satsuma. The spices are definitely background notes, though they're a good compliment, and make this a much more complex scent. Overall, a nice, warm citrus scent. This is not a citrus for the heady days of summer. This one's for the winter.

    Zarita, the Doll Girl (2006)

Okay, I agree with the previous reviewer. This is not like anything I have ever smelled before either. When I put it on it's sweet, resinous, and powdery. It doesn't smell anything like what I was expecting, and nothing like the notes listed. But this one changes, and changes quite a bit. It starts to smell like flowers and something fruity, though it's hard for me to pin down what. I'm not sure I'm smelling the sugared cream at all. I'm still deciding how I feel about this one. Most of the time I have absolutely no idea what I'm smelling. I'm liking the post-powdery, slightly fruity phase. Overall, Zarita is a big mystery. It's a very creative and original blend.

    Roadhouse

I was a bit worried about the tobacco in this blend because I tend to amp tobacco, but that was no problem with Roadhouse. Roadhouse totally smells like dandelions- exactly like dandelions. How cool is that? A dandelion perfume! Ultimately, though, that was precisely my reaction to Roadhouse. I totally appreciate the perfumery skill in creating it, but I don't really want to smell like dandelions on a day-to-day basis. Cool to smell, but not for me to wear.

    Whitechapel

Unfortunately Whitechapel ended up being way too masculine for me. On me this smelled almost entirely of musk, and musk is generally not that great on me. I didn't get the lime or the lilac (unfortunate, because I like both). I ended up washing this one off.

    Antique Lace

This is an amazing scent on me- warm and comforting while still sophisticated. It's definitely a vanilla scent, but it also includes a linen note. To me, it really smells like lace, while still being a warm vanilla. It reminds me somewhat of the scent of Lush's American Cream. I really, really enjoy this oil. It's a grown-up vanilla. Very nice.

    Yemaya

Like just about everyone else, I get melon, melon, melon from Yemaya. As others have experienced, for me this is pretty much a honeydew single note. This oil is fruity! I am all about fruity, so this is a good thing.

    Luna

In the bottle- cherry and lavender? It's a bit hard for me to pinpoint exactly what this is. On me- Fruity, floral, and herby. That cherry might actually be ylang ylang, it's still a bit hard to tell. There also seems to be a jasmine note, but it's not super strong. The herbs are stronger. Ultimately this develops into a soft floral scent. This really is a very calming scent.

    Kostnice

In bottle- frankinsence and rosewood. On me- The wood note is very strong. This is very much a wood scent on me; I was surprised by just how much rosewood I seem to get. Rosewood is what I get for pretty much the duration fo wearing this, until the very end, when the scent morphs into something fresh and clean, like honeysuckle. It was a welcome surprise.

    Arcana

In bottle- strong lavender. On me- still a very strong lavender. I can smell just a hint of verbena, but it's really just a hint. Overall this is a very nice herbal lavender that's well-complimented by the verbena. Good for when you want a fairly straight-up lavender scent.

    Fruit Moon

I just adore this scent. I'm shocked I haven't gotten around to reviewing it earlier, because not only is it my birthday moon, I freaking love it. In the bottle and on me it is totally bubblegummy fruits. Tons and tons of fruit. I can distinguish melon, pineapple, maybe some mago, and there's loads of other things in there too. It's warm and summery and perfect to wear right now. This s a very tropical scent. Overall, being the lover of fruity scents that I am, I think it's just perfect.

    Rome

In the bottle- sharp and herbal. On me- Whoa! Intially this is VERY sharp and herbal, much more so than when just in the bottle. This smells much like pine, like when you break open pine needles. After a bit of wear I get some rose too. It's rose with pine, and gradually turns into a predominantly rose scent with a pine base note. This scent retains a certain sharpness throughout its wear.

    Monster Bait: Closet

In bottle- Oh my word, this is glorious. Blackberry cake= mmmmmm. On me- When wet I can really smell the sweet blackberry, and it drowns out the cake. When wearing it almost smells like those old-fashioned blackcurrent candies- sweet and purple. Blackberry/currant is definitely the dominant note on me, and the cake scent remains very much in the background. I'm really enjoying this.

    Monster Bait: Underbed

In bottle- sweet cinnamon. On me- strong cassia! Very strong. I get very little cake, almost all cinnamon. The cassia/cinnamon note is so strong that it reacts terribly with my neck- itchy, welts, etc. This is definitely a wrist-only oil. In the initial wet stage it's so strong, basically biting. As I'm wearing it does calm down, thankfully, and I get a bit more cake, though the cassia is still very prominent. This finally settles into a nice cinnamon cake scent- at the end there's almost something slightly fruity to it. I'll have to see if I can make it through the initial stages to get to the stage I like.

    Bess

In bottle- orangey, with an herbal undertone. On me- I can smell the mint now with the citrus and herbs. Very nice, it's minty and herbally. It's also light and delicate. This is a fresh and clean scent. I end up getting mint as the predominant note with an herbal undertone. It's very much a spring scent for me, and I'm loving this mint-citrus blend. I think this needs to be big bottle for me.

    Twilight

In the bottle- jasmine! Very jasmine, with an herbal undertone of lavender. On me- heavy, heady jasmine. This is a jasmine-lover's paradise. As I'm wearing it becomes a bit sharper and more biting (that's good). The jasmine does ultimately dissipate, and I'm left with a very herbal scent. It finally softens into a well-mixed floral. This is a frequently-changing oil on me- I think the final stage (mixed florals) is my favorite.

    Thanatopsis

Wet- this smells stong, and almost like menthol. It's herbal and biting. Specifically, it's a biting pine note. After a bit of wear- the pine becomes less biting, and is complemented by a cedar note. On me this is pretty much all pine and cedar- very fresh and woodsy.

    Jack

Wet, heavy, heady butter and pumpkin. When I wear this scent it's all around me- it smells as if I've been cooking. There's somthing that smells almost like green vegetables in the background of this (not a bad thing for me- I love tomato and celery notes). The first whiff I sniff smells like spicy pumpkin bread (good!) the second is like green vegetables. I almost think it's the peach that my nose is mistaking for vegetables. I really like what this dries into- a warm, pumpkin, cooking scent, but I like it more as a room scent than as a perfume.

    House of Night

In the bottle- biting herbs. I am absolutely feeling the "dismal green" of the description. On me- it's so much softer than in the bottle. The tremendous bite that I smell in the bottle pretty much disappears. It's so much softer. I swear there's sandalwood in this. Immediately after application this smells just like sandalwood on me, almost pure sandalwood. Unfortunately sandalwood and I don't get on so well. I wish I was getting the florals other people seem to, and not the sandalwood. After a bit of wear this morphs a bit more, there's still some sandalwood but it's complimented by something I'm having a hard time pinning down, that smells alternately like spices and lemon (I know, those two smell nothing alike, it's odd)- it's not unpleasant, but it's hard to pin down what it is. The sandalwood is still there. The final stage- this basically becomes a sweet sandalwood scent on me. Overall- this is a very smooth, often soft scent. For me the issue is the sandalwood- that's just not a note I care for.

    Peony Moon

A beautiful, light, pale pink scent. This smells of beautiful, glorious pale pink flowers on me. It's the perfect spring scent. The scent stays fairly true and unchanging on me-- slightly powdery, almost rosy, definitely light flowers. I definitely see the similarities to Budding Moon, in some ways it's like a lighter Budding Moon. I'm guessing it's the plum blossom that makes me think this-- it's a very voloptuous and distinct scent. But in Peony Moon the plum blossom is much lighter, and it's much harder to distinguish from the boquet of other light florals. Overall, I really love this for a spring scent. It commands to be worn when the weather isn't too warm and isn't too cold either, and it makes me think I'm walking amongst trees in bloom.

    Jezebel

In the bottle- very strong oranges and honey. On me- when wet, I get something similar to in the bottle, a strong orange and honey scent. I love oranges, but I do not love honey. We'll wait and see. As I'm wearing this it changes, into a lovely, powdery, sweet floral. I can definitely smell the rose, and the honey has completely disappeared. It's lovely. There's a faint hint of sandalwood, but it's mostly floral. I really, really like it. Now I need to decide if I can put up with the initial honey to get to the stage I like.

    Ode on Melancholy

First whiff- strong lavender and herbs. Somewhat biting. First on me- Ooh, this definitely smells much like tears (both real tears and the oil, Tears). It has that salty-acquatic vulnerable and sad feeling to it. Tears are the strongest note on me, but it's mixed with a very cold bouquet of flowers (I can't pick out individual notes). It's beautiful and poignant. As I'm wearing the florals amp up and the tears fade away. It turns into a lovely floral perfume, one that's extremely well-blended and nearly impossible to pick out individual notes.
