At first the leather was so sharp, that I really didn't know what to make of it. But very quickly the amber starts to melt through - sweetening the leather, refining it, smoothing it, taming it just a bit. It has great lasting power. I absolutely love the way this dries down. Loviatar is sexy yummy delicious.

Mandarin? I don't get any citrus at all, thankfully, for I don't care for it much. That being said, I love Grandmother of Ghosts, if not just for the name! I get a soft floral, that is slightly dusty and which has a certain twang to it. Must be the pepper. The scent works wonderfully with my chemistry and I find it to be very long lasting. I will certainly be getting me a 5ml of GoG.

O! How I love thee. This is everything I hoped it would be and more. I find it very similar to Snake Oil, but dare I say, I like it even more! Vanilla, amber and honey. Delicious. I'm definitely getting a bigger bottle of this. I bet Aphrodite's hair smells just like O!

Whip captured my heart upon first sniff and it was true love from there! Whip is a darker rose, obvioulsy from the leather. I find it has a lot of throw and lasts for hours. When wearing Whip I feel sexy, confident, intriguing and fiesty! This is one of my top 10 BPAL scents. Gorgeous!!

One of my favorite BPAL scents! Haunted is deliciously sexy - it makes my toes curl. I love anything with amber in it and mixed with dark musk, Hello! It's very long lasting, not powdery at all and it has that elememt of mystery and intrigue that I love so much. Oh, and let me not forget to mention that Haunted drives dear husband mad.

I was on the fence with this one for a while, wanting so badly to love old Anne Bonny. Finally I had to jump off. It just didn't work with my chemistry. The acrid, damp wood just never developed into anything more for me.

Wow, I love this! I bought it based on nothing but the great reviews on makeupalley. It's everything I hoped it would be - spicy, warm and extremely sexy. Thankfully the cinnamon behaves itself. Cinnamon can sometimes start to smell waxy or like plastic on me, but not Chimera. Oh no, this is sweet, smooth and soft. It's gorgeous on me from first dab, until hours later. I'm so glad I bought me a full bottle of this!

When your favorite GC blends are discontinued

Hi, I have been hoarding my sample of Bruja for a while now, wearing it only on special occasions because it apparently is no longer available. I would love recommendations for oils that are exactly, kinda, I'll even settle for slightly, similar to my beloved BRUJA. Or, or, maybe the name was changed?? Could it still be available, but under a new alias? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!! -
Shouldn't I have received my order by now? It's been 7 full days. I'm so excited to get my order I could bite myself.

I received an imp ear of this quite some time ago. I kept sniffing the wand and thinking tobacco, pure tobacco, nah, not for me. But this morning I decided to take the plunge. OMGoddes! When I first put it on I am transported to a far, far away place. I'm led beneath the seventh veil, by a belly dancer and come face to face with the Goddess Innana. She is annointing me with thick resinous oil. I smell myrrh. Love myrrh! I purrrr for myrrh. Then I slip through a portal and I'm at a nightclub....in Cuba? People are dressed like it's 1940. The smell of tobacco is predominant. But, rather than smelling stale, it was like the yummy moist pipe tobacco that my dad kept in a leather pouch. This is cool. I keep sniffing, thinking, what else is in there. I didn't realize that it was coconut until I ran to the computer to read other peoples reviews. Yes, coconut. It's so obvious now, but a black coconut indeed. It's late and I'm on an island, standing at the foot of the ocean. I am naked and in my hands is a coconut that has been smashed. I raise hands to the full moon, rub the coconut all over my body and a man with a mask ravishes me. How did Beth bottle such a fantasy?? I am getting a BIG bottle of this.

Sexy, Smutty, Seductive, Provocative... It's All in Here

Sin, without a doubt. It drives men mad. -
Love it! At first it's pure cedar wood. Sharp, tangy shavings of cedar wood. Over time the scent, although still very woody, is more complex, softer as the cedar starts to mingle with sandalwood and vetivert. Then at the final dry down stages a subtle sweetness is detected. Overall, it's very warm, sexy and comforting. Me likey! As a side note, the name is all wrong. IMHO (very humble), this smells more like a tiny wooden church than a huge stone cathedral.

Where can I find the reviews for BPAL's different scents? Thanks.

Yum! Musk+Amber=Love. That's about sums it up. This is a hypnotizing scent that sends both me and my husband into a frenzy. It dries down to a soft, powdery, sweet dream that lingers for hours. If I were to describe it in musical terms, this would be the sexiest Enigma song that you could think of.

Lalalala. This is so purrrrrty. Like I'm skipping gayly through a field of flowers. On me, this scent is pure Iris and Olibanum. I don't get much of the sandalwoon and that's okay. Not that I don't like sandalwood, but the foral experience is such a nice change from my adored dark, musky, woody, incensy oils. I put just a dab on this morning for a test drive and it's gorgeous. I love the name, I love the fragrance and I love the fact that I'll be getting a larger bottle of this soon!

I really love Eve! It starts out like a wet, dark, in full bloom rose, yet, as it dries down it's scent becomes more and more like bayberry on me. This is a wonderful thing!! I put a dab on last night, before I went to bed and when I woke up close to 7 hours later, the scent was still there. It's a truly intoxicating fragrance. I will be ordering a larger bottle of this oil!

I adore this fragrance! This is sensual. It starts out like chocolate covered orange slices. Yummy! Within minutes it reminds me of opium. Spicy and fruity. Mmmm, cloves stuck in an orange. As it dries the spice is softened by the patchouli, but it's more woodsy than earthy. Like sugared sandalwood. I've had it on for a few hours now and the scent is scrumptious. This works very well on me and it lasts a long while!

Violets! I smell violets and something else, maybe cedarwood, or sandalwood. Oh but it's the violets that have captivated me. This scent is pungent, spicy, dark, musky and full of depth. As it's drying down it's becoming softer, more powdery. This scorpio is digging scorpio.

I was immediately enamored with the sandalwood. That's all I really smelled when I first put this on my wrist. Within a few moments a different kind of spice emerged, not as dry as the sandalwood but sweeter, more pungent. Definately it was the carnation. This is very subtle. I'm captivated by this scent but already after only a couple of hours it seems to be fading. Quite frankly I'm bummed. My experience with Old Morroco, although wonderful was extremely short lived. *deep inhale of wrist* Nothing there *pout.* I really, really, really wish that this lasted longer on me!

Now this is me! Oh gosh the cinnamon, the amber the sandalwood. I'm in heaven. I don't detect too much of the patchouly. It's there, but in an understudy sort of way. This has kick. Bam! My husband loves this. He's nibbling my arm. This lasts, I've put it on over an hour ago and it's still going strong. This smells exactly like my favorite occult store, where all the incense and herbs and candles blend into one mysterious, spine tingling scent. This is love. Update: 10/22/05 I recently attended Twilight Covening, a pagan retreat of sorts. I go every year and love how the Earthspirit community orchestrates mass ritual. They just create magic in the mountains! Anyway, while I was packing for my weekend I wanted to make sure I had the perfect scent to wear. I wanted it to be sensual, to have the ability to allow easy trance like states and most importantly I wanted it to be mysterious as Twilight is when we pagans prepare to enter the dark time of year. Sin was 1 of 3 that I chose to take and it was worn most of the weekend. I got so many compliments on it and it was a catalyst during my visioning ritual. Over a year later and it's still one of my all time favorites.

First of all, I want to thank Beth for including this as an extra. With my first whiff came chocolate covered raspberries. Yum! I was intrigued so I put some on my wrist. Very light. I don't think the fragrance will last long on me at all. After an hour it's fading softly and it smells very waxy. I don't care for the way it's drying down on me. After 2 hours the scent is almost completely gone. There's one lonley berry that is just haging on for dear life. Interesting, just not my cuppa. Too foody, too faint.
-
It's rich, mystical, dark and sensual. The color smells very red to me. Think not primary red, but definately BLOOD red. Beth's Dragon's Blood draws very good energy. Mmmmm Update: I can't wear this anymore without getting a headache. I do much better now with dragon's blood blends such as Blood Amber or Dragon's Musk.

LOL! I wear a lot too! I apply them all up my arm, behind my ears, back of my neck, behind my knees, my ankles (scent travels upwards so if you start down low it lasts all day long!) between my breasts and sometimes, depending on the oil...my third eye.

Thanks for your reply. I'll have to look at that listing, then. Thanks!! My husband loves Saturn! LOL! We are both looking forward to commencing around the computer tonight to put together our sample order. So many to choose from!

Hi, Would you say that most of the scents are for women or can most of them be worn by both men and women. What's the easiest way to determine whether a scent is better suited for a guy or a girl. Some, I imagine, will be quite obvious - especially if it mostly floral notes. But others... any tips? Thanks!
